Today’s confused world has gotten itself into a real economic jam. And, if history has taught us anything, the mess we are in now, nationally and internationally, will likely only be resolved by intense hard times and possibly even civil and/or international war. As is so typical it is we humans who have done this to ourselves. We, by way of our political leaders, and their blind, thoughtless, self-centered followers have done this to us. We did it by electing (or allowing to come to power) stupid leaders who love power, know nothing of how an economy works best, and are clever at obtaining power and keeping it.

These leaders in our country and in many others currently do not know how to do anything but tax the producers in society, and then redistribute the money with ruthless, pointless, unplanned spending. This they do (and our president and Congress most certainly do) with the verbal promise that this will create more jobs and reduce the high numbers of unemployment.

Taxation was originally permitted to
supply the basic requirements of a free
government, such as supporting
a standing military. It was never
intended to “create jobs”!!

These wrong-headed beliefs on the part of the leftist, liberal, elite are slowly choking off creativity in this country along with the desire to discover, invent, and take risks to try new business endeavors. Companies, large and small (whether they are incorporated or not) are hesitant to try anything new (and subsequently invest anything more) if they know that in a few months, they will be paying more in taxes.

To those companies, large and small, this uncertainty simply means they dare not hire anyone new, and they made yet need to fire more of the people who are currently employed. This, they feel they must do in order to have sufficient funds to pay the anticipated new taxes.

Additionally such companies are in the process of relocating themselves and their manufacturing installations to other country’s in the world where there is 1.) a stable government operating under the rule of law, and 2.) low taxation and regulation of businesses. This of course brings additional suffering to the United States as it reduces the number of available jobs. But our country, in passing the president’s stupid stimulus plan actually and willfully went into debt TO CREATE FEWER JOBS AND EMPLOYERS!

This is always what happens when the free market is jammed up with rules, regulations, and taxes. It’s like a man who could be healthy, if only his parents would feed him a normal diet. But, even when this normal diet is ready to hand, the parents insist on serving him a steady diet of potatoes, so the poor man remains constipated, and practically unable to “move” (literally or figuratively).

Thus there is now a crying need for all who would consider themselves truly educated to recover some foundational ideas about how a nation’s economy actually works. We would do well to ask, what lies at the heart of it all — the heart of man’s productivity in the first place? That is the question we must — and we will — answer, in the following pages (and articles).

The best way to answer that question from the foundation up is to answer the related question about man’s basic needs. What are those base needs or elements that all humans seek and look for when left to themselves? To say it another way, what would you do, what would you seek to keep yourself alive, if you were the only person living on a desert island, or within a few square miles of primeval forest?

Indeed this question has already been answered in real history, by millions of prehistoric human predecessors who had just this very matter to attend to on a daily basis. For them answering this question correctly, sufficiently, and routinely was the difference between survival and death. They answered it by seeking the basics and essentials of food, clothing,

and shelter. We shall, in the next three articles, explore how that was done. We shall use the gift of imagination plus what we know of prehistoric humans to see them as they go out into their world.

We shall see that at the foundation, Man has always asked, “What are the basic
necessities for my survival?

We shall recreate for ourselves scenes from our own ancient past; we shall watch as our ancestors in some particular detail answer for themselves the question, “what must I do to survive?” For (to say it most explicitly) it is that survival instinct which moves and drives all humans; and “doing” by those free agents was the way to answer that instinctive question. In our own day many millions of people know where their next meal is coming from, they know what they will wear each day, and they know where they will sleep at night.

So many of us in fact take all of these things for granted, but in fact, we should not! The actual day by day process of realizing our basic needs and looking for ways to fulfill them is something all first humans had to learn if they were to live for long. It is something we should consider anew today for ourselves. For in fact, in the times which are now coming upon us, we shall find that we shall have to learn — and learn swiftly! — to do what they learned and did so well long ago.

In reality, the actual search for food, clothing, and shelter, is something that primitive man learned to do all at the same time. In other words, the search for one of the three often led him to discover features of the other two which could assist him at the moment; or which he

However I shall here deliberately concentrate on his discovery of each of these basic needs, one at a time, beginning with food. We shall see what comes from such discoveries, and what other benefits might accrue from the practices of hunting and gathering. Then we shall move on to brief discussions of clothing and shelter, respectively. I will do this with one big eye on the Bible, and particularly on our Lord’s life and teaching with regard to these three.

So read on, feed on, and enjoy!

Those who are beyond college or who don’t have children who may one day like to attend may breathe a little sigh of relief and feel very sympathetic – but tend not to worry about the issue too much.

Whomever you are, listen up: it’s time to start worrying.

The United States cannot compete globally without a college-educated population. Period.

The money going to debt payments by graduates is money they are not spending on housing, retail shopping or whatever it is your business sells.

Student debt forces graduates to work for others and discourages entrepreneurship and innovation.

Along with not buying homes, debt-laden graduates are also putting off having children – goodbye future workforce and taxpayers!

The student loan market is extremely complex, and default levels are astoundingly high – endangering the economy as a whole.

It’s not just students, but also their parents and grandparents whose money is being pulled from the larger economy to payoff college debt.

And what’s the one kind of debt that can never be discharged, no matter what? We’re back to indentured servitude.

Both private and government loans lack “the most fundamental protections we take for granted with every other type of loan” – but at least it keeps the collection agencies in business, since they can “hound you for life.”

It’s sad: the two areas that are doing the greatest long-term harm to the American economy — the costs of higher education and of health care — are also two areas which most benefit us as a society. Yet, we leave it all at the mercy of “the market” — in both cases allowing maximized profit off of what should be the public good. It’s no way to run a country of the people and for the people.

When I noticed United Airlines started adding kiteboarding gear as part of their accepted sporting g

When I noticed United Airlines started adding kiteboarding gear as part of their accepted sporting goods equipment I was pretty happy. As usual though the airlines let me down. I had different experiences getting my kite gear checked at different airports. Upon further review of their policy since returning home I found some problems with the policy.

I flew United from ND to South Padre, TX. On the way down I got through the check-in process without any trouble. I paid the checked-bag fee of twenty-five dollars as the policy states and went on my way. This was how I expected the transaction to go down.

Returning home things went differently. I had the same bag and the same contents inside. But this time I was assessed an oversize bag fee of $100. When I stepped up to the check-in area the woman asked if the bag contained kite gear. I answered with a yes. She then said it would be a hundred dollars. I told her the policy stated kite gear was to be treated as a simple checked bag according to her airline’s policy unless it didn’t meet the criteria as set out in the policy. She was unaware of the policy and asked another woman to look it up. Sure enough she came back with the policy in hand and stated my bag was to big to qualify. She hadn’t measured it yet. As you can see United had already decided I wasn’t getting through without the added fee.

Knowing my bag was sixty inches long I asked that she measure it. She measured the bag from end to end and then the height on both ends and told me the result was seventy-two inches. I then told her she measured incorrectly. What reason would there be to measure the height twice and add that into the total? She never even measured the width. So she didn’t measure correctly but it wouldn’t have mattered. The policy states length plus width plus height. After further review of the policy and checking with some kiteboard pros I have determined no kiteboard would be allowed to fly at the regular fee. This is because no kiteboard would fit within their restricted dimensions. In order to do so under the policy as written a kite board would need to be 1″ x 48″ x 13″. Or at least some dimensions similar to that adding up to less than 62″. Maybe someone has a board like that but it is too small to fit the norm. Isn’t that what the policy is written for?

Wakeboards, snowboards and downhill skis are not limited by this strange set of dimensions and therefore allowed to fly at the regular rate. As far as the airline is concerned, what is the difference between a wakeboard and a kiteboard? Sure there are some kiteboards which would be closer to the surfboard category and probably should be charged as such but many are not. When I travel with my ski equipment I am probably traveling with more surface area and weight than with my kite gear but I have never had any trouble with it all. Well, United did temporarily lose my skis once.

Anyway, I couldn’t leave the bag at the airport and go home without it. Since I couldn’t reason with her I told her to charge it and I would dispute it later. So I will be having a conversation with United about the difference I found between their check-in process at the two different airports as well as the discriminatory way their policy is written towards kiteboard equipment. I will keep you posted on how this turns out.

Is anybody else angry? Does anybody else feel like the hard-working citizens of this country are bei

Is anybody else angry? Does anybody else feel like the hard-working citizens of this country are being treated like complete and utter mugs? it seems like the life blood is being sucked from our green and pleasant land by the very people who make it. Us! The government talk about the problems of society, reducing benefits and getting the jobless back to work. Zero tolerance on those pesky rioting kids. Well great, that’s one method to the madness but goes nowhere near to getting near the route of the problem. The fact that a whole generation of our population has been brought up to think they can get something for nothing has left a gaping hole open for immigrant workers to come in and do the job, often, to a far better standard and with a far better attitude than your average uk school or college leaver. Hard work, family unity and respect are lesson that many Brits could do with learning from the dedicated individuals who diligently send money home overseas each week. However money-getting sent out of our county doesn’t contribute to the economy.Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love our colourful and multicultural society, it’s what makes it so unique.

No, it’s a Double edged sword with equal responsibility coming from us all. Loopholes in tax laws mean that not only are the best parts of our country being bought up by foreign investors, which means our county is no longer ours, but the high prices being set by the millionaire and billionaires with money to burn mean that ordinary working people can’t even afford a decent room in London. The super rich use their power and influence to join the wealthy brits in keeping the majority of their funds abroad, thus increasing the ordinary working persons tax responsibility two-fold!

One would have thought that a well-educated successful 30something would be entitled to enjoy their own home, be it rented or mortgaged. But no, the property market is so insane that people are unable to find a flat without entering into a bidding war, desperately pledging the best part of their wages to triumphantly land themselves a badly lit box room with 4 others! Offer to Redecorate the room to improve your chances quips a “helpful” estate agent. You have got to be kidding me! What with 1 month upfront, 2 months deposit, the removal van and council tax I will be lucky to pay for the bloody bus into work!

The only alternative to this insane scrabble for a shoe box is the relocation to the surrounding counties or for the very brave further afield thus being instantly and permanently enslaved to mercy of the Railway Networks aka “the great British tax on going to work” it’s literally a sick joke that these immensely profitable private companies are not only government subsidised but are allowed to brazenly rip us off, on a daily basis. The fact that there is no viable alternative for the thousands of commuters descending on London each day should surely mean that this essential service be efficient, affordable and accessible to all. Oh and don’t get me started on the 1st car insurance premiums. Because every 17-year-old college kid had £3000 gathering dust in his Natwest piggy bank just waiting to be spent on a 15-year-old ford fiesta worth less than a PS3! And we wonder why the biggest killer of young men is suicide. Even if they want to get up, earn a living, get an education and generally hold their heads high they get smacked back down. Oh yeah, and they need to live with their mum till they are 35!

The thing is that the more we sit back and accept the lot that we have been given the more the powers that be will be able to do whatever they want. We all have the ability as individuals and as a group to make a difference. Our complacency, our unwillingness to take any responsibility for making our lives as good as they can be is what is making “Broken Britain”. Lets not be taken in by the constant distractions of bickering politicians (yes you Boris and Ken) and actually look at the real issues.

This is England, but we all needs to contribute to make it GREAT Britain.

Imagine a job where a poke in the eye
From your boss, while still painful and rude,
Technically isn’t prohibited by
HR policy. Guess what? You’re screwed!

(Please note: This is totally sub-thesis, here,
And does not–repeat, not–represent
An actual boss/staff dynamic. We clear?)
Whining time would be time not well spent.

A place where the policy doesn’t preclude
Bad behavior by those at the top,
And that policy gap leads to eye-poking…Dude,
Change the policy and the pokes stop!

Make the policy say Don’t poke eyes? That’s one way,
And it makes sense, but these are the guys

An utterly incredible story out of Stevenson Ranch, California, the movie industry’s stand-in

An utterly incredible story out of Stevenson Ranch, California, the movie industry’s stand-in for Pleasantville. During a Nov. 4 visit to the local elementary school by semi-competent TV news reader Chris Schaubel, a white fifth-grader punked a classmate by telling him that Barack Obama was visiting the school. The kid was denounced to “school authorities” by an evil little classmate, and by the end of that day the kid had been kicked out of the school for good by the moronic head of the Newhall school district, a Dr. Marc Winger, who has managed to demonstrate both the failings of a Berkeley education and the vacuity of doctoral “training” in the field of education with a single action.

The charge against the kid, as you can probably surmise, is racism. You know, that “all of them look the same to me” attitude that sophisticated people like Marc Winger ascribe to the Archie Bunker types that Berkeley professors believe populate the land outside Sproul Plaza. Now, take a look at this picture of Chris Schaubel and rank, on a scale of 1 to 10, how closely he resembles Barack Obama. I’d give it a 6 myself, but then I’m the Kligrapp in my local Klavern. Certainly it’s a close enough resemblance to merit a 5th-grade prank from a reasonable distance.

Really, what’s a more racist attitude: saying that Schaubel looks like Obama or saying that whitey can never say that any two black people resemble each other?

Furthermore, who exactly got hurt by this alleged hate speech? Name names, Herr Doktor Winger, or STFU. And some little snitch bitch with an axe to grind against the kid doesn’t count. (Oops; I said “axe.” Is that racist? Is it racist to ask if it’s racist?)

Not one single person (aside from the kid who’s been banished from the Paradise that is Stevenson Ranch Elementary School) has demonstrated a shred of good judgment or common decency. The school district Nazis choose to cower behind their interpretation of privacy laws, which apparently enable them to defame and punish the kids under their command without explanation, let alone justification.

But I think the worst person–the sorriest excuse for a human being–is Chris Schaubel. One brief statement from him saying that he took no offense at being compared to Barack Obama would have quashed this whole stupid business. But–as far as I can tell from googling–he’s (quite uncharacteristically) kept his mouth shut about it.

Fuck you, Schaubel.

Fuck you, Winger.

Fuck you, principal Candy Fleece (yes!) who treated this seriously.

Fuck you, school-board president Susan Solomon (I am not making these names up!), for your mealy-mouthed sliming of the kid (“there’s more to the story, but I can’t say what it is”).

And fuck you, you little Hitler Youth brat who bitched about this kid to a teacher and then celebrated his expulsion from Paradise Elementary after the wheels of injustice had finished crushing the kid.

You’re all cowards and bullies. But you do a wonderful job showing people why school vouchers are such an excellent idea.

What Does The Flag Say? The Greeley Reporter Comment by Jim Campbell Since this happened in Colorado

What Does The Flag Say?

The Greeley Reporter

Comment by Jim Campbell

Since this happened in Colorado, when pansies from the left start whining about why should the American Flag be held the highest, it might be an excellent time for the few people with their heads screwed on right to teach them a new game. It’s call Cowboy’s and Rag Heads. We win you lose, sit down and STFU.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, I’m J.C. and I approve this message.

The Saudi Arabian Flag elevated over the flag of the United States at Bauder Elementary last week (see article below) contains an Arabic inscription and a sword on a green background. Everything in the flag is significant.

The Saudi flag is difficult to distinguish from the flag of the terror group Hamas, because the backgrounds of both are solid green, and they both contain an Arabic inscription. Green is the sacred color of Islam. It is used also on the flags of Iran and Libya because of the Islamic connections. Other Muslim nations have green stripes or color on their respective standards.

The sword on the Saudi flag is the sword of Islamic conquest. Muslims believe every person must convert to Islam, by force if necessary. It doesn’t matter if you are atheist, agnost, Buddhist, Christian or worship the environment. They believe you must be Muslim, and the sword indicates their determination to either save or kill.

The inscription on the Saudi flag is the official proclamation of Islam, written in Arabic. In English, it reads, “There is no God but Allah, and Mohammed is his prophet.” In short, this is not merely a national flag, but a religious flag as well.

This ideology was elevated above the flag of the United States within an elementary school. Who did it? What message does it convey? What is the school doing today as they teach their children? Will they pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States? We don’t know. They won’t say.

Is It Still There?

Greeley Report broke the story last week that Bauder Elementary in Ft. Collins was flying the Saudi Arabian flag with the U.S. flag in a subservient position. Poudre Schools states this has been fixed, but refuses to provide photo verification. Furthermore, they refuse to answer questions about how the flag got into this position despite their allegations in the Greeley Gazette article with Jack Minor (link here) that the flag was placed in this position before the school was opened to the public. Which administrator or staff member made the U.S. flag bow?

One comment to a previous story alluded to the fact that the Saudi Flag ascribes the highest honor to Allah, the Islamic God. This is both a national and a religious issue. Also not shown in the photo is the sword on the Saudi flag. How are these issues being handled? How are the children in this multicultural school being taught about the national sovereignty of the United States and the daily pledge of allegiance to it’s flag?

Other organizations are now getting wind of the photo and the lack of answers provided by Poudre Schools. Is the flag still there? We don’t know, because they will not provide the evidence or the answers.
