<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Getting ready to travel to Geneva to attend the Regional Implementation Meeting (RIM) for Europe and North America as preparation for next year&#8217;s Commission on Sustainable Development session. Am expecting 3 long, long days (UN is good at those), but hope to get back into the habit of daily blogging, as I did in May, while at the UN.</p>
<p>It&#8217;ll be different this time though, since I&#8217;m representing the Baha&#8217;i International Community as one of three  Organising Partners of the Women Major Group. And that&#8217;ll also mean meeting the EU Presidency (as rep. of the Women Major Group) on Monday evening. Am looking forward to meeting my fellow organising partners Alexandra from &#8216;Women in Europe for a Common Future&#8217; and Nana from &#8216;Voices of African Mothers&#8217;.</p>
<p>All I can say is: stay tuned&#8230;..</p>

<title><![CDATA[El Dia de la Alianza de Dios - La Fe Baha'i: Bahá'u'lláh, 'Abdu'l-Bahá, Shoghi Effendi &amp; La Casa Universal de Justicia]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Hoy 26 de Noviembre los Bahá&#8217;ís de todo el mundo celebran lo que llamamos el &#8220;Dia de la Alianza&#8221;. Como tuve el placer de asistir a una de las reuniones en una comunidad Bahá&#8217;í, voy a tratar de escribir lo que recuerdo de la fabulosa presentación que hubo.</p>
<p>Dios ha existido por siempre y así seguirá existiendo infinitamente. El desde el comienzo de la creación envió a Sus Mensajeros o Profetas a Revelarse ante la humanidad para hacernos saber cual era Su Guía y Voluntad. Entre estos Mensajeros de Dios se encuentran Buda, Moisés, Jesucristo, Muhammad, <a href="http://info.bahai.org/spanish/the-bab.html">El Báb</a> y <a href="http://info.bahai.org/spanish/bahaullah.html">Bahá&#8217;u'lláh</a><br />
 (el mas reciente). Dios siempre ha cumplido con Su Promesa de enviarnos guía. Aunque los nombres de estas almas santas, estos Mensajeros de Dios es diferente, el Espíritu Santo, la Verdad es la misma. Ellos vienen de tiempo en tiempo para hacernos saber la guía necesaria para progresar como civilización de acuerdo a las necesidades de nuestra época y a nuestra capacidad de entendimiento. Por ejemplo, Ellos pueden compararse con los días de la semana, los cuales a pesar de poseer nombres diferentes (lunes, miércoles, sábado) son iniciados por la luz del MISMO sol.<br />
Ahora, el ultimo de estos Mensajeros fue Bahá&#8217;u'lláh Quien aparte de Sus Enseñanzas y 100 volúmenes de Escritos ha urgido a Sus seguidores (<a href="http://info.bahai.org/spanish/bahai-world-community.html">los Bahá&#8217;ís</a>) a que obedezcan a Su Alianza. Aquí es donde vamos a ver de que trata eso.</p>
<p>Una &#8220;alianza&#8221; es un convenio, un pacto entre dos o mas partes, verdad? Ahora, la Alianza, lo que celebramos los Bahá&#8217;ís todos los años en esta fecha es el acuerdo entre Dios y la humanidad que ha existido desde el comienzo de la creación. En esta Alianza Dios promete no dejar a la humanidad sin guía y a enviar a Sus Mensajeros para comunicarnos lo que El desee. Dios siempre ha cumplido con su parte en esta Alianza. Los que hemos fallado somos nosotros. Nuestra parte en este pacto es reconocer y obedecer a la Manifestación de Dios para nuestra época. Claramente en la historia de la humanidad hemos fallado en hacerlo.</p>
<p>Bahá&#8217;u'lláh nos urge a cumplir nuestra parte de esa Alianza y ha hecho -como signo de Su maravillosa Bondad- una Alianza menor con Sus seguidores. Esta Alianza implica que después del reconocimiento de Su Santidad Bahá&#8217;u'lláh, reconocemos a Su Hijo Mayor, <a href="http://info.bahai.org/spanish/abdulbaha.html">&#8216;Abdu&#8217;l-Bahá</a> como Su Sucesor. Asimismo, &#8216;Abdu&#8217;l-Bahá urgió al mundo Baha&#8217;i que después de Su muerte debíamos volvernos a su nieto <a href="http://info.bahai.org/spanish/guardianship.html">Shoghi Effendi </a>quien fue el único Guardián de la Fe Bahá&#8217;í. Después de Shoghi Effendi, los Baha&#8217;is nos volvemos a la <a href="http://info.bahai.org/spanish/uhj.html">Casa Universal de Justicia</a>, quien es el cuerpo administrativo de la Fe Bahá&#8217;í a nivel mundial. A nivel nacional esta la Asamblea Espiritual Nacional Bahá&#8217;í y a nivel local están las Asambleas Espirituales Locales.</p>
<p>El propósito de la Alianza de Dios es la UNIDAD de la HUMANIDAD.<br />
La Alianza de Bahá&#8217;u'lláh es la UNIDAD entre los Baha&#8217;is de todo el mundo.<br />
Esto es tan claro como el agua, de modo que no queda espacio para la mal-interpretación o desviación.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;"><span style="color:#000000;">“The prophet&#8217;s gift might well be called a curse, for prophets are doomed to failure. Possessed of a vision not shared by other men, they must speak of it relentlessly, with an extraordinary sense of urgency, for it is essential to their being that they try to bring others into the world of their perceptions. They are defined by their mission; and their mission inevitably fails, for the fact is that other men, not being prophets, cannot share the prophetic vision. To them, the prophet seems to be speaking of some other world: as indeed he is, with the difference that to the prophet this other world, the world of potential fulfilled, is the real one, while to ordinary men it appears to be illusion. <p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">Although most Bahá’ís accepted the appointment by Bahá’u’lláh of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá to be the interpreter of his Word, the perfect exemplar of his Faith, and the center of his Covenant, members of his extended family, led by the dispossessed Muhammad-‘Alí, sought unsuccessfully to gain the leadership of the Bahá’í community. This campaign led to recurrent conflicts with the Turkish authorities and entailed the reimposition of confinement in ‘Akká and the appointment of two commissions of enquiry. This broad opposition led ‘Abdu’l-Bahá to place enormous emphasis on the mimetic character of the Covenant.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><span style="color:#000000;">“Oddly enough, the paradox is one of our most valuable spiritual possessions, while uniformity of meaning is a sign of weakness. Hence, a religion becomes inwardly impoverished when it loses or waters down its paradoxes; but their multiplication enriches because only the paradox comes anywhere near to comprehending the fullness of life. Non-ambiguity and non-contradiction are one-sided, and thus, not suited to express the incomprehensible.”                                                           (Carl Jung: Psychology and Alchemy, page 18)</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">There are two forms of covenant recognized within the Faith: the Greater Covenant between Bahá’u’lláh and his followers, vis-à-vis the promise of the next Manifestation; and the Lesser Covenant, synonymous with the line of succession described in the Kitáb-i-‘Ahd. Bahá’u’lláh appointed ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, and ‘Abdu’l-Bahá appointed Shoghí Effendí; those who rejected their spiritual authority broke the Lesser Covenant and were denounced as Covenant-breakers once they were so declared by the Guardian, and were subsequently excommunicated. The legislative authority of the Faith is thus inseparable from the institution of the Guardianship.</span></p>

<p>Well, I&#8217;m done editing, but that&#8217;s pretty darn HUGE!</p>
<p>The final track is 3 hrs, 50 minutes.  About 2.5 minutes per page, which is about right. </p>
<p>I&#8217;ve already sent it off to the Review Board, so we&#8217;ll see what happens next.</p>
<p>I also have to contact my recording engineer to see if he can help me master it.</p>
<p>I can&#8217;t believe I&#8217;m finally done editing!  I know if I listen to it again, I&#8217;ll just find more little things to fix, but I think all the big stuff is done.  </p>
<p>I feel like celebrating, but it&#8217;s 12:30 in the morning, and everyone&#8217;s asleep.  I guess that&#8217;s where I should be, so I&#8217;ll leave it there for now. </p>
<p>Did I mention I&#8217;m done?</p>

<title><![CDATA[Funeral, and Family]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Today I got up, went downstairs, grabbed my clean dress-clothes out of the dryer, and proceeded to get ready for a funeral. It was a funeral for a lady whom I met twice, Florence Strom. She was 97(!) when she passed on. Apparently (as I learned during the service) she was an amazing woman. Hearing about her life gave some meaning to me before reading some selections at her service.</p>
<p>I was asked to read Psalms 23 (at the funeral home), and the Baha&#8217;i obligatory prayer for the deceased (at the graveyard). If you don&#8217;t know (as I didn&#8217;t), psalms 23 is the &#8220;walk through the valley of the shadow of death&#8221; one. All I could think of last night was:</p>

<p>Which was hilarious, but also made me feel like I was being extremely inappropriate. On the bright side, I&#8217;ve decided to include a clause in my will that states that my siblings have to perform a rendition of gansta&#8217;s paradise after reading this psalm&#8230;.and that Nadia has to be the main rapper (as she knows the lyrics by heart, and kills it live).</p>
<p>Also, I discovered that even though the Baha&#8217;i obligatory prayer for the departed is the only congregational prayer, there is still no repetition by the crowd! I was under the impression that congregational meant one person reads something, and the congregation responds, but apparently not. So I read <a href="http://www.bahaiprayers.org/depart1.htm">this</a> prayer, out in the bitter cold, and it&#8217;s LONG, but it was nice. I actually felt like it was really fitting for the occasion. (Funerals kinda force you to consider mortality, especially in relation to yourself. What do you think happens after you die? And if you believe in an afterlife, what do you think it&#8217;s like?)</p>
<p>Then we had a traditional Norwegian smorgasboard (mostly fish and potatoes), I socialized with some peoples (and received suggestions that I explore a career in radio), and then went and played chess.</p>
<p>The afternoon was focused on the visit of Ted&#8217;s nephew, Darren, who came with his wife and two kids from Kelowna. I got home, changed from ultra-dressy to jeans and a T, and cleaned-up and organized till them peoples arrived. They have a daughter named Emily as well, so there are 2(!) Emily Glabushes running around the Okanagan.</p>

<p><em>The press watchdog &#8220;banned Hamshahri over carrying a picture of the Bahais&#8217; temple and encouraging tourists to visit this place on its front page&#8221; on Sunday, IRNA said, without giving a timeframe for the ban.</em></p>
<p><em><!--more--></em>Hamshahri, which attracts the highest number of advertisements among Iran&#8217;s newspapers, has been published by the Tehran municipality for nearly two decades.</p>
<p>Tehran&#8217;s high profile conservative mayor, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, is a fierce critic and rival of Iran&#8217;s hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.</p>
<p>The Bahais have a sprawling temple in Haifa, Israel, which is the Islamic republic&#8217;s arch-foe.</p>
<p>Followers of the Bahai faith, founded in Iran in 1863, are regarded as infidels and have suffered persecution both before and after the 1979 Islamic revolution.</p>
<p>The Bahais consider Bahaullah, born in 1817, to be the last prophet sent by God. This is in direct conflict with Islam, the religion of the vast majority of Iranians, which considers Mohammed to be the last prophet.</p>
<p>Ahmadinejad&#8217;s government has shut down scores of publications &#8212; mainly from the reformist camp critical of his administration &#8212; since coming to power in 2005. Conservative media and entertainment periodicals have also been hit.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">The interpersonal dynamics of this struggle must have been complex. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá seems to have projected his own enraged anima, the repressed feminine elements of his psyche, onto Muhammad-‘Alí, who consequently came to represent the inferior qualities and primitive tendencies of the shadow archetype, the very embodiment of the evil betrayer. Muhammad-‘Alí thus became the shadow reflex of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, the vilified scapegoat of the Bahá’í Faith for which the category of Covenant-breaker was created and applied in perpetuity, irrespective of its moral legitimacy or contextual accuracy. The brighter the light, the darker the shadow it will cast.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">The Covenant-breaker is now the scapegoated, despised and rejected Other onto whom institutionally obedient Bahá’ís project precisely those attributes that are most characteristic of themselves. It is actually this unintegrated shadow that lies at the root of religion itself and, for the purposes of this entry, the Bahá’í Faith in particular. This unintegrated shadow must be assimilated for the Faith to reach its full potential; otherwise, hostility rather than reconciliation will continue to be the result. The Council of Regents of the Tarbíyat Bahá’í Community holds no power of interpretation, does not engage in partisan polemics, and does not declare anyone a Covenant-breaker. The projection has been withdrawn.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">It now seems necessary to disentangle the Bahá’í Faith from the incipient delusion of triumphalism which confuses its historical existence with its divine dispensation. When the Faith distorts the tension between its origin and its telos, it becomes, through a process of institutionalization, the opposite of what it was meant to be. A community, religious or otherwise, becomes dysfunctional when its administrative order becomes dogmatic, autocratic and dictatorial; when it encourages too much preservation and not enough innovation.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">There seems an inevitability about spiritual movements that endure: they organize and ritualize into a community of common purpose—a religion. Unfortunately, religious institutions tend to mold conformity rather than that true “unity in diversity” in which all interrelate in harmonious balance. As the Bahá’í Faith has inherited a literalism of scriptural words similar to that found within Shí‘í Islám, the need to contextualize the text of scripture within its historical context (in order to understand its implications and respect its integrity) is of utmost value, for the fundamentalists in all religions betray little tolerance for even minor deviations.</span></p>

<h3> الأولى تعلن عن حشرجة موت نظام عقيم لا إيمان له بالله، قد أصر بعناد، رغم آيات وعلامات ظهور إلهي لمدة قرن من الزمن، على عدم تكييف طرائقه وفقًا للمبادئ والمثل التي جاءت إليه بها تلك الرسالة السماوية.</h3>
<h3>الأخرى تنبئ عن صراخ ولادة نظم سماوي ومخلّص سيحل حتمًا محل السابق، وتنمو في رحاب هيكله وتنضج بنحو لا يكاد يشعر به، ثمار حضارة عالمية لا نظير لها ما تزال في طورها الجنيني.</h3>
<h3>الأول يطوى حاليًا منهارًا وسط الظلم وسفك الدماء والحطام، والآخر يفتتح أفاقًا من عدل واتحاد وسلم وحضارة لم يشهد عصر لها مثيلاً.</h3>
<h3>الأول قد استنفد قواه، أثبت بطلانه وعقمه وضيع بلا رجعة فرصته ويسرع صوب حتمه. الآخر، ممتلئًا حيوية ولا يُقهر، يمزق أصفاده، ويبرر مكانته على أنه الملاذ الوحيد الذي يمكن لإنسانية عصرتها الشدائد وتطهرت من خبثها، أن تجد في وسطه مصيرها.</h3>
<h3><span style="color:#ff0000;"> وكتب كذلك حضرة عبدالبهاء عن الحضارة الجديدة والعالم الجديد : &#8220;سوف تتحد كافة الأمم والقبائل وتصبح أمة واحدة. وتندثر المنازعات الدينية والعرقية وتتوقف المشاحنات بين الأجناس والشعوب. ويتمسك كل الناس بدين واحد واعتقاد واحد ويتّحدون في جنس واحد ويصبحون شعبًا واحدًا. فيسكن الكل في وطن واحد هو هذا الكوكب نفسه.&#8221;</span></h3>
<h3>وهذا الاتحاد  ليس ثمرة ناتجة عن مجرد فورة عاطفية عمياء، كما أنه ليس بمثابة تعبير لآمال مبهمة تدّعي التقوى والصلاح.</h3>
<h3>وليس الاتحاد مجرّد ظرف طارئ يأتي نتيجة شعور متبادل بوجود نيّات حسنة ومصالح مشتركة، مهما بلغ صدق هذه المشاعر وعمقها.</h3>
<h3>كذلك الأمر بالنسبة لأي كائن عضوي. فوجوده ليس مجرد اتّحاد للعناصر المختلفة يتم مصادفة وبطريقة عفوية اعتباطية.</h3>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">‘Abdu’l-Bahá (Arabic, Servant of Bahá [Splendor, Glory]) is the religious title of ‘Abbás Effendí (1844–1921), the eldest son and successor of Bahá’u’lláh.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">Bahá’u’lláh referred to ‘Abdu’l-Bahá as the “Master” (Áqá), the “Most Great Branch” (ghusn-i-a‘zam), the “Mystery of God” (sirru’lláh), and the “Limb of the Law of God” who “encompassed the whole of creation.” Bahá’u’lláh explicitly named ‘Abdu’l-Bahá as his successor in his will, the Kitáb-i-‘Ahd (Book of the Covenant), and directed that after his own death, his disciples should turn to ‘Abdu’l-Bahá as the interpreter of his writings. In the Súri-yi-Ghusn (Tablet of the Branch), Bahá’u’lláh clearly stated that those who had turned toward ‘Abdu’l-Bahá had turned toward God, while those who rejected him had repudiated Bahá’u’lláh.</span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">‘Abdu’l-Bahá was born on the same night that Mullá Husayn accepted the claims of ‘Alí-Muhammad to be the Báb. His mother was Ásíyih, the first wife of Bahá’u’lláh, later and more widely known by her title Navváb. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá began to assist his father while still a youth as one of his secretaries, and eventually took responsibility for the practical affairs of the exile community in ‘Akká. He read widely and became renowned and respected among Ottoman officials and reformers, and came to be seen by the general population as a pious community leader who gave alms to the poor and regularly attended the local Sunní mosque.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><span style="color:#000000;">“God has given man the eye of investigation by which he may see and recognize truth … Man is not intended to see through the eyes of another, hear through another’s ears nor comprehend with another’s brain … Therefore, depend upon your own reason and judgment and adhere to the outcome of your own investigation …”         (‘Abdu’l-Bahá: Foundations of World Unity, page 76)</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">In 1873, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá married Munírih Khánum (1847-1938), a young woman from a prominent Isfáhání Bahá’í merchant family. She was chosen for him by Bahá’u’lláh, who arranged for her to be brought to ‘Akká. Two sons and three daughters died in childhood, but four daughters survived to adulthood. Unlike his father, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá remained monogamous. His sister, Bahiyyih Khánum, wife and daughters remained loyal to him when his half-brother, Muhammad-‘Alí, the archbreaker of the Covenant, conspired to undermine his leadership and rejected his authority.</span></p>

<h3>أن جموع البشر قد أدركت، بشكل عام، أن الأمور لا تسير على أفضل ما يكون بظهور بعض المشاكل الكبيرة جداً والملحة والمنذرة بآثار وخيمة.</h3>
<h3>وأعتقد أنه إذا ما تحدثت مع المراقب العادي للمشهد العالمي، سيقول/تقول لك: &#8220;هنالك أمران يحدثان في نفس الوقت، الانحدار، والنمو.&#8221;</h3>
<h3>بطبيعة الحال إن ردة الفعل التقليدية على عملية الانحطاط هذه والتي تظهر بشكل متزايد  في العالم في الوقت الحاضر تأخذ أشكالاً مختلفة.</h3>
<h3>معظم الناس يتوقعون بل يحدوهم الأمل أن يكون هذا الوضع فقط مؤقتاً : &#8220;الأمور ليست جيدة في هذه اللحظة&#8230;من الناحية المالية مع ظهور الأزمة،&#8230;..التقلبات السياسية، &#8230;..في إفريقيا أو آسيا،&#8230;. أو أمريكا الجنوبية أو الوسطى، أو في دول أخرى،&#8230;. ولكن مع القليل من حسن الحظ سيتحسن الوضع وسنعود إلى ما كنا عليه سابقاً، كمجتمعات مستقرة.&#8221;</h3>
<h3>هنالك توقع عام بأن هذا الهبوط سيكون مؤقتاً. وتقريباً على مستوى العالم، يتم التقليل من المدى الذي سيصل إليه هذا الانحدار، وهناك عدم تقبل للشدة التي يمكن أن يكون بها .</h3>
<h3>هنالك جهل عام بالسبب الأساسي، فالناس تميل إلى أن تنسب السبب لما نصفه نحن بالعلامات والظواهر: تغييرات سياسية، ارتفاع نسبة التعليم، تحفز وحركة بعض الأقليات ، تحرر المرأة، وهكذا. ومعظم الناس يتوقعون، في الواقع يحدوهم الأمل، أن يظهر حل ما يزيل هذه الأزمات، ويزيل كافة هذه الغيوم، وتستمر البشرية بطريقة سلمية وبشكل توافقي متناغم باتجاه مستقبلها.</h3>
<h3>من الواضح لي أن عملية الهبوط والانحدار في العالم ستستمر لفترة طويلة. لا توجد فترة زمنية محددة لذلك، ولكن يمكن أن تكون عقوداً أو، في الواقع، قروناً من الزمن. وخلال تلك الفترة ستكون حدة تفكك المجتمع، والأزمات التي ستصيب البشرية، بدرجة ومقدار ولفترة تتجاوز إلى أبعد الحدود ما يمكننا إداركه أو تصوره في الوقت الحاضر. ومع استمرارها، نتوقع تماماً مختلف ردود الأفعال من الناس المحيطين بنا.</h3>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>I had a chat with my son who just turned ten.  He&#8217;s growing up and wants to be treated that way, but still lacks the maturity to make choices that would allow me to do so.  And I lacked a means to explain that to him.  Until recently. </p>
<p>Recently, we had a great discussion about the difference between kid decisions versus grownup decisions.  Grownup decisions focus on the future, on the desirability (or undesirability!) of the outcome.  Kid decisions focus on the present, and the desirability of continuing to do whatever you&#8217;re currently doing,  versus the alternative.  </p>
<blockquote><p>MOM: For example, your sister made a grownup decision to clean her room.  Obviously it&#8217;s not because she likes cleaning her room, rather it&#8217;s because she wants to get paid her allowance this weekend.  She is focused on the future, on getting her allowance.  Whereas a kid decision might be&#8230; </p>
<p>SON: [interrupting] Oh, I know!  A kid decision would be when I kept watching TV after you told me to take a shower, and then I lost TV time.</p>
<p>MOM: Exactly!  You were focused on the present, on not wanting to stop watching TV, even though you knew you were about to get in trouble.  You didn&#8217;t think about the future, only the present!</p></blockquote>
<p>Ever since then, he likes to point out whenever he makes grownup decisions, and suddenly he&#8217;s started making a whole lot more of them.  On the other hand, when he doesn&#8217;t, he has a way to analyze how his decisions led him to a particular outcome. </p>
<p>I won&#8217;t say it&#8217;s a fool-proof panacea, but it sure has been helpful!</p>

<description><![CDATA[Twelve days after my last post in which I said I had about one week of editing left, I&#8217;m still]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Twelve days after my last post in which I said I had about one week of editing left, I&#8217;m still editing.</p>
<p>To my credit (?) I ended up re-doing yet another section of the book, part 5 of 6.  And since 6 was only half the size of the other sections, I should have just redone that one too, but I couldn&#8217;t make myself do it.  So why did I do part 5?  Well, I&#8217;m not sure how I did it, but I screwed something up.  The waveform looked like sawblade teeth, rather than rolling waves.  And the breaks between words was all hissy.  I couldn&#8217;t leave it as it was so I re-recorded it.  Twice. </p>
<p>That&#8217;s when I noticed it.  My voice sounded strained.  Like my throat had gotten lazy, or as if I was talking with my chin on my chest. It was very subtle, and I was pretty sure no one else would notice it, but it didn&#8217;t sound as effortless as it did in previously recorded sections.  Still, I took Tim Gunn&#8217;s advice and made it work, recording and editing a new part 5 in about four days.  (That&#8217;s about 18 hours of work time.)  I glued it into the big file and was much happier. </p>
<p>I finally finished editing the big file, and remembered I had to record the Intro, the Preface and the Extro.  (What else could you call it?).  I have now recorded, edited, and glued them into the big file, and I&#8217;m going through the whole file yet again. </p>
<p>Will I ever be completely happy with it?  In a word, no.  But I&#8217;m getting closer. </p>
<p>I don&#8217;t know how an artist ever finishes a painting, or a musician ever finishes writing, arranging or recording a song.  You can tweak something forever, but does it really make it better?  Or is it just a way to postpone putting your heart&#8217;s labor up for public scrutiny?  I know my answer to that question, and I&#8217;m going to finish this pass, and then I&#8217;m going to take the next step.  A step which shall be determined after I wake up tomorrow.</p>

<h3>فعلى سبيل المثال المشاعر التي انطلقت في العالم في الأيام الأخيرة بوفاة <span style="color:#0000ff;">مايكل جاكسون.</span> الكثير مما يقال له صبغة شبه دينية: &#8220;مايكل لم يمت، مايكل لا يزال حياً، مايكل سيبقى حياً بفنه وموسيقاه.&#8221;</h3>
<h3>يتجمع المعجبون والمحبون يضعون الأزهار هناك، يذهب 17000 شخص إلى الاستاد لإحياء ذكراه في حفل كبير. انه سيكون مثل إلفيس بريسلي ، حيث تقوم المعجبون بالحج إلى تينيسي مرة في كل عام، وهكذا.</h3>
<h3>أما <span style="color:#0000ff;">الأصنام السياسية،</span> فالمشاعر شبه الدينية التي يتم بها تعظيم القادة السياسيين ذوو التأثير الكبير على الجماهير عند وصولهم للسلطة كمخلصين للبشرية من ألامها، ثم يحدث العكس لاحقاً.</h3>
<h3>أيضاً، عبادة <span style="color:#0000ff;">الأصنام الرياضية</span> بتكريس وتبجيل خاص يمارس، في العادة، في العبادات الدينية.</h3>
<h3>ما هو السبب الأساسي؟ لماذا حدث كل هذا؟ من أين أتى كل ذلك؟ هنالك العديد من الأسباب، وهناك تحليلات ممتازة تم نشرها ضمن مؤلفات المجتمع المعاصر والتي تحاول تتبع جذور وبدايات الأزمات والاضطرابات في العالم. بشكل عام، هي دراسات جيدة جداً: فهي توسع الآفاق، وتتسم بالتحليل الجيد، وشاملة لمختلف الزوايا، ولكنها تترك السؤال دون إجابة &#8220;من أين أتى كل ذلك.&#8221; انها نفس طريقة معاملتنا للأطفال عندما يسألون: &#8220;من خلقني؟&#8221; نجيب: &#8221; الله&#8221; – &#8220;ومن خلق الله؟&#8221; – نجيب &#8220;أذهب بعيداً عني.&#8221;</h3>
<h3>عالج حضرة بهاءالله هذا السؤال الهام، وهذا السؤال الأساسي حول المجتمع الإنساني حيث يشير إلى ان السبب الأساسي لهبوط وانحدار العالم أنه عدم اتباع الدين الحقيقي. إذ يتفضل قائلاً:</h3>
<h3><span style="color:#ff0000;">&#8220;الدين هو النور المبين والحصن المتين لحفظ أهل العالم وراحتهم&#8230; فلو احتجب سراج الدين لتطرق الهرج والمرج وامتنع نير العدل والإنصاف عن الإشراق وشمس الأمن والاطمئنان عن الأنوار.&#8221;</span> (مجموعة من ألواح حضرة بهاءالله، طبع دار النشر في بلجيكا، 1980،  لوح الإشراقات، ص 23 – 24)</h3>

<p>&#8220;Divorced from the Institution of the Guardianship&#8221;<br />
“Divorced from the institution of the Guardianship, the World Order of Baha&#8217;u'llah would be mutilated. . .” What did Shoghi Effendi mean by this?</p>
<p>Shoghi Effendi makes this pronouncement in his great expository letter “The Dispensation of Baha&#8217;u'llah:”</p>
<p>Divorced from the institution of the Guardianship the World Order of Bahá&#8217;u'lláh would be mutilated and permanently deprived of that hereditary principle which, as &#8216;Abdu&#8217;l-Bahá has written, has been invariably upheld by the Law of God. &#8220;In all the Divine Dispensations,&#8221; He states, in a Tablet addressed to a follower of the Faith in Persia, &#8220;the eldest son hath been given extraordinary distinctions. Even the station of prophethood hath been his birthright.&#8221; Without such an institution the integrity of the Faith would be imperiled, and the stability of the entire fabric would be gravely endangered. Its prestige would suffer, the means required to enable it to take a long, an uninterrupted view over a series of generations would be completely lacking, and the necessary guidance to define the sphere of the legislative action of its elected representatives would be totally withdrawn. (The World Order of Baha&#8217;u'llah, p. 148; hereafter, “Paragraph A”)</p>
<p>What does Shoghi Effendi mean by this? Does he mean, if there is ever not a living Guardian, the World Order of Baha&#8217;u'llah will be mutilated and all these unthinkable things will happen? Is the World Order mutilated right now, because Shoghi Effendi was not able to name a successor Guardian, and the Universal House of Justice functions as the Head of the Faith without the presence of a Guardian? Faithfulness to the Writings requires that we strive to understand exactly what he meant.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><h2>بالرغم من انني لست متعصبة كرويا ولا اجلس كثيرا امام التلفاز لمشاهدة مباريات الكورة الا ان الضجة الاعلامية حول مباراة مصر والجزائر القادمة والتي ستقام على استاد القاهرة اصبحت تحتل الكثير من الصحف والفضائيات وبهذا الحدث اتذكر والدي رحمه الله عندما كان يشاهد مباريات كاس العالم والمباريات العالمية الاخرى وكان يقوم بتشجيع الكورة الحلوة سواء محليا ام عالميا وفي الاونة الاخير شاهدت المدرب الخلاق حسن شحاتة واعجبني اخلاقه جدا فهو انسان عريق في هذا المجال لكن ما استرعى انتباهي هو حلو اللسان وادب الحديث</h2>
<h2>فكثير من الناس ممن نعرفهم في المجال الكروي والذين كانوا يتمتعون بشهرة كبيرة في الكرة لا يتحلون بمثل هذه الاخلاقيات الجميلة التي نفتقدها في عالمنا اليوم  كما كان يعجبني ايضا الخطيب واخلاقياته في التعامل مع زملائه وحتى مع اللاعبين من الفرق المنافسة</h2>
<h2>ان والعيون مترصدة لمباراة يوم ال14 من نوفمبر والقلوب تدق في انتظار النتيجة النهائية و كثرت المسابقات التى تدعو الناس للتكهن بنتيجة المباراة الا ان هناك يجب ان يفوز احد الفريقين ليتأهل لكأس العالم والاخر سيكون من المشجعين</h2>
<h2>ولذلك نحن نشجع الفريقين ونحي جميع اللاعبين في الفرقتين ونأمل ان نسعد بمباراة شيقة وجميلة</h2>
<h2>وفي النهاية اتمني لجميع لاعبي بلدي الحبيبة مصر كل الخير والسلام وتحية خاصة للعملاق حسن شحاتة</h2>
<h2>والجميل هذا التعادل الجميل وخروج الجماهير جنبا الى جنب مسلم بهائي مسيحي لا فرق بين البشر ولا تعصب ديني اللهم شوية تعصب كروي جميل بين اخوة في اسرة عالمية</h2>

<h3>نرى اليوم اليأس في البحث عن المغزى الحقيقي من الحياة. وهو يأخذ أشكالا متنوعة بإتباع مجموعة من البدائل عن الدين الحقيقي. فعلى سبيل المثال، أعتقد أن ظهور التطرف الديني  والاستبداد من قبل قادة الأديان هو دليل على معانة الناس من انحدار الدين الحقيقي.</h3>
<h3> كيف يمكن أن نقيم ذلك حسب معطيات وأحداث الوقت الحاضر التي يبدو أنها تشير إلى العكس من ذلك تماماً، فالأديان،  قد انتعشت ظاهريا في العديد من الدول في العالم؟ أنا أرى العكس. فالقادة الدينيون تخلوا عن التأثير الروحي من أجل ممارسة السلطة ، وغالباً بشكل وحشي وقاسٍ لكي يحافظوا على مراكزهم وسلطتهم.</h3>
<h3>إنه التطرف الديني سواء أكان مسيحياً أو إسلامياً أو يهودياً أو هندوسياً أو بوذياً الذي يمثل هبوطاً وانحداراً للدين الحقيقي وبداية للظلم. الذي يظهر بأشكار متعددة كمشاعر الكره والأنغماس فيما يهدم الأرواح وعبادة الأصنام.</h3>
<h3>ان احد اشكال الظلم هو اختمار مشاعر الكره والانقسام في العالم، مثلا محاولة تحديد مجموعة خارجية معينة يتم تفريغ كامل الإحباطات والغضب والبغض عليها كجزء من عملية تحقيق سلام ورضا داخليين.</h3>
<h3>وشكل آخر للظلم أراه في محاولة البحث عن حلول لحالة الإحساس بالجوع العاطفي ، والإحساس بشيء مفقود في الحياة&#8230; الذي يترجم إلى البحث عن حل فوري ،للاشباع العاطفي والأحساس بالافتقاد الأمر الذي بطبيعة الحال يمكن أن يؤدي إلى انهيار الزواج والمجتمع بشكل عام.</h3>
<h3>إن الانغماس في سلوك متطرف لملء فراغ روحي، وربما إدمان الكحول، وتعاطي المخدرات أو الانغماس في الممارسات الإباحية، أو حتى السعي إلى المخاطر في الرياضات الغير تقليدية،</h3>
<h3>ما يجمع ما بين هذه جميعاً هو ظلم روح تسعى للمغزى وتبحث عن الحقيقة، تماماً كما يصف حضرة بهاءالله في كتاب الإيقان. هذه الروح منقادة بيأس هذا البحث لتصبح متورطة في أمور نعلم أنها هدامة وغير مجدية كما أنها لا تلبي ذلك الاحتياج.</h3>
