Eastern region of the country witness a National Rally Championship after 4 years of dormant period.Since there was a gap,this rally was really hyped about. But even though it was rally de kolkata the stages were actually held in Durgapur.

Sept 17 : Initial plan for Day 1 was a 23.5KM dirt stage with two rounds in it.But since it was raining heavily in Durgapur ,It was until the last moment the stages were cut short by almost half (12KM) with two legs a 5.79KM and 6.22KM run thrice.17th was the pre event day.I was planning to attends the press conference but because of rain I reached late which was good,since most reporters left, I was able to chitchat with some rally drivers including Amitrajit.It was an amazing experience.

Sept 18 : The event was supposed to flag off from Hotel Ginger at around 7AM .I reached there when 4 cars already left.It was my time to hurry to the stage which is almost 50KM even from Durgapur.On reaching the stage , I made an attempt to reach the spectator point 1 but rain and dirt made a good mix and my car got stuck.However was able to reach the start point.The track was dry and hard , very good for pace filled rally ,which which everybody started . It was me first time witnessing a rally of this sort.I walked almost a KM ahead into the first corner and made a spectator point myself.It was hot,sun overhead so after SS1,it was not so easy to make to 6.22KM stage ,so went back home and kept an eye on the live updates. The track took its toll as news came by people were crashing some can’t keep the car in control and unfortunately Vikram crashed due to wrong information from the officals into Arjun Balu’s car .

Sept 19 : The stage on duel was suppose to start on 7:18AM and stage on gram at around 8:16AM ,Easy for rally cars but not for me.so stayed back home and kept an eye on live updates.Day 2 has seen most of the actions and upturns in leader board,including someone hitting a cameramen near FF.Most biggies were out due to mechanical faliures including some Gypsy’s.There was even a holdup somewhere in the middle of the stage.

Sept 20 : Day 2 has already seen Gaurav Gill in comfortable lead of 1 min and 17 sec ahead of Amitrajit Ghosh followed by Sujay in 1600cc Baleno. Spectator Special Stage was held in Jadavpur Stadium in Jadavpur ,Kolkata. The competitors lined up at around 3 PM.But Gaurav got stuck in wet ground  .His front wheel drive cars has enough grunt to make the pit deeper.But with help from his service crew,he set himself free. The SSS was tough on esteems who were already struggling with the 560KM of travel of which more than 460 was just Liason stages. Gypys’s flying and so are baleno’s but both cedia made the SSS really special. Gaurav clocked the 2km stage in 1:25 and Amitrajit in 1:27 . So Gaurav wins as he extends his leads by 2 more secs.

Some points to note :

1. 460Km of transport stages is too tough on cars .it could have been less.

2. Officials could have been a little bit more experienced,On Day 2 the top 4 cars almost got penaltied due to a silly mistake by a marshal .

3.Privateers suffered a lot because of last minute decision changes which sparked anger  in them(as far as current rally.co.in forum posts goes ).I also feels the same.More coverage and attention on privateers would have really helped the event.

4.As most participant are from  South of the country, number of entries were 38 as compared to 60 in K1000 Bangalore.

As an event this was great to watch.Hopefully we will be able to see it next year again. I learn’t a lot about cars,driving styles and met some great drivers  and my trigger happy me was really very happy.

Dari judul sebenarnya rada ga nyambung dengan caerita yang gw tulis ini,coz gw tau tanggung jawab gw sampe mana dan sampe sini gw ga merasa ada yang salah meskipun belum sempurna. Tapi gw ga mempermasalahkan coz daripada berjalan cepat-cepat akhirnya jatuh mendingan gw nyante dah.

Gw pengen banget ngomong ini dan teriak supaya pada tahu klo gw ga suka disetir meskipun bahasanya halus banget dan mengatasnamakan yang baik2. Gw ga setuju dengan cara seperti ini,gw punya cara sendiri dan gw tau harus bagaimana menyelesaikannya.

Sekarang lagi menjadi sama,sebetulnya apa sih yang salah?gw aja bingung,meskipun gw berpikiran “bule minded” dimana gw ga bakal masukin ke hati kata2 sendirian orang lain tapi bakal beda ceritanya klo itu berisi fitnah,gw ga suka itu apalagi sampe bawa2 masalah yang lain ke pengaturan gw.

Pliz deh,gw ini tinggal dirumah yang jauh dari kampus,lagipula GW INI NUMPANG tinggalnya,masa mau seenak jidatnya keluar masuk??????meskipun ini rumah bibi gw tapi tetep aja ada perasaan gimana gitu dengan hidup menumpang. JAKARTA, MINGGU - Musibah memang selalu datang di saat yang tak terduga. Hal inilah pula yang dialami tiga mobil yang terlibat tabrakan beruntun di ruas tol Ir.Wiyoto Wiyono, Minggu (11/5) siang ini.

Berawal dari jatuhnya bantal dan rak dari sebuah mobil yang mengangkut barang rumah tangga, di ruas tol dari arah Rawamangun menuju Cawang, memaksa mobil di belakang mengerem dengan tiba-tiba. Inilah awal musibah tersebut. Kecelakaan sekira pukul 12.15 itu melibatkan Honda Jazz nomor polisi B8166PF, Toyota Avanza nomor polisi B2697KI, dan Suzuki Baleno B90DR.

Meskipun tak menimbulkan korban jiwa, namun arus lalulintas dari arah Jatinegara ke lokasi kejadian menjadi padat. Menurut penjelasan Sujari dari Sentral Komunikasi Citra Marga, tiga mobil naas itu sudah mulai digeser dari lokasi kejadian.

karna emang gak ada rencana kmana-mana, gw si ok ok aja, jam 5 miing sampe rumah, istri gw lagi nginep dirumah mertua, yaudah gak ada yang ngurusin tuh tamu heheahhh… ambil minum sendiri + kalau mau makan buat sendiri….

telp jawa masih dikantor, perut udah laper….

jawa sampe langsung brangkat makan ke burger & grill di margonda depok, sambil makan jawa telp istri gw, ktanya ibu-ibu (istri gw, bokinnya miing sama ika) lagi pada ngumpul di bright ciganjur… langusng aja gw, miing + jawa nyusulin kesana…

sampai bright ketemu tmen gw si ableh n tmen-tmen motornya gi pada ngumpul di situ juga, ngobrol bentar trus gw masuk deh nemuin istri gw…

gk lama setelah ngobrol ngalor ngidul gak jelas, gw ajak aja karaokean ke NAV fatmawati… langsung semuanya setuju… brangkat deh berenam…. nangis aja tuh balenonya simiing ditumpuk 6 orang hahahh…..

jam 2 pagi bubar….

istri gw balik kerumah mertua, nagnter ika pulang(hihihi ika pulangnya naik pager) jawa nginep dirumah gw, miing nganter cewenya balik…

udah ah, ngaco banget nih tulisan gak penting……

Indomobil baru saja melaunching Suzuki Neo Baleno tanggal 22 Februari lalu, sedan pengembangan dari Suzuki SX4 yang pertama kali di perkenalkan di Geneva Motor Show 2006.

Event launching Neo Baleno yang dihadiri sejumlah kalangan di Senayan City ternyata cukup ramai, terutama adalah karena Sales Promotion Girl (SPG) yang berpose cukup ‘menarik’ perhatian wartawan dan pria tentunya. Berikut beberapa fotonya:

    

Sekilas Tentang Neo Baleno

Neo Baleno merupakan pengembangan dari Suzuki SX4 yang pertama kali di perkenalkan di Geneva Motor Show 2006 dan dibuat di Plant Suzuki Esztergom, Hungary dengan rumah design Giorgetto Giugiaro Italdesign Studio.

Menggunakan mesin berkapasitas 1.500 cc VVT DOHC, mampu menghasilkan power maksimum 100ps/6.000 rpm dan torsi maksimum 133Nm/4.000 rpm.

Akselerasi Neo Baleno cukup responsive namun tetap ekonomis dalam pemakaian bahan bakar karena menggunakan Multi Point Injection, Variable Valve Timing (VVT) dan Drive By Wire yang mengontrol kinerja mesin secara elektronis (tanpa kabel gas) sehingga lebih akurat dan responsif.

Power dan torsi sangat mumpuni untuk kondisi light off road dan on road. Nuansa sporty dan elegan begitu melekat pada SX4, desain kabin dan lekukan dasbor yang tegas dan modern layaknya SUV, dipadu dengan posisi kemudi dan penumpang layaknya sebuah sedan.

Semua terintegrasi dalam interior yang lapang dan nyaman. Instrumen panel yang mudah dioperasikan dari posisi pengemudi. Tiga Cylindrical Meter Cluster berkesan sporty namun elegan, dilengkapi dengan warning sign seperti audible headlight etc. Multi Information Display (MID) tampilan waktu, suhu diluar mobil, konsumsi bahan bakar rata-rata dan sesaat.

Kelengkapan audio CD Tuner (AM/FM/MP3/WMA) with auto volume control akan menyesuaikan suara secara otomotis dan Steering Wheel Integrated Audio Controls dengan 4 speakers 4 tweeters.

Neo Baleno dilengkapi dengan fitur istimewa seperti Multi Reflector Halogen Headlamp dan Fog Lamps, Intermittent Rear Wiper with Electric Washer dan Rear Combination Lamps.

Electric Door Mirror kaca spion pada pintu yang bisa digerakkan secara elektrik dari dalam mobil. Roof Rail fungsional dan memberikan tampilan atraktif ditambah grill yang menyatu dengan bumper sehingga menambah kesan sporty ditunjang 15 inch alloy Wheel (195/65 R15).

Keyless Entry with Immobilizer, memungkinkan untuk membuka pintu tanpa harus memasukkan anak kunci ke lubang kunci pintu. Dengan immobilizer keamanan mobil bisa terjaga, karena SX4 tidak bisa dihidupkan. Memiliki Child proof rear door lock, adjustable shoulder anchor untuk front seatbelt, Rear ELR Seatbelt.

Faktor keselamatan dan keamanan juga menjadi prioritas utama, hal ini terlihat dari kelengkapan Neo Baleno yang memiliki Dual SRS-Airbags (Supplement Restrain System Airbags). Kantung udara yang terletak pada bagian pengemudi dan penumpang secara otomatis akan mengembang ketika terjadi benturan.

Safety Engineered Body, saat terjadi benturan/tabrakan pada bagian belakang maupun depan, energi tumbukan akan disebarkan ke konstruksi body. Bila terjadi benturan dari samping, side impact Beam akan mempermudah langkah penyelamatan. Whats with Maruti anyway?
First they confuse the world with their car nomenclatures and now they are confusing them with their new designs!!

Once upon a time they launched the Maruti 1000. After the 800, it was a logical move and a near correct nomenclature for a 900-odd cc car. They they changed its engine & called it Esteem…but waitaminnit…the same car abroad was called the Swift.
Then they launch the Baleno..which incidentally is known as Esteem worldwide!
Then they launch the Swift, which is actually the same as the one abroad, BUT now it has in its portfolio an Esteem which is actually the Swift, Baleno which is actually the Esteem and Swift which has its older sibling still in production! Yikes!!!

Then there is the Zen. Now she is known abroad as the Alto. In India, they have another car called Alto which is basically a redesigned & souped up 800. Yesterday, they renamed it the “Estilo”, calling it the new “Zen”. AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHH! Why can’t they just let the car names be what they really are!!

Coming to designs, the Zen/Alto/Now-Estilo is a fantasic example of confusion…the first one looked cute in their self-propagated “jelly-bean” design. Then they came up with a “Classic/Retro” version where they essentially covered all the lamp holes (visible patch up..) and added round lamps in front and back and pasted a pseudo-retro grill in front…basically made the car look so atrocious that noone would buy it!

Then suddenly they had an export surplus…they export the same jelly bean as a 2-door hatch and it wasn’t selling. The market was flooded by this piece as a “limited edition” sports version that would never be made again…and they expected people to fall for it!! It was called “Metal” or something…correct me if I’m wrong about that.

Now they have the Estilo, which by the way, looks like a redeigned now-defunct Daewoo Matiz! That’s not all about their design inspirations…the new-look wagon-R looks like theold Hyundai Santro (Bug-Eyes version) that people hated so much…I guess they have been trying for 6 years to dethrone Santro (originally called Atos but thats another story!), and have finally decided that the best way is to copy the design!!! Matiz was a best seller and so is Santro, so can’t really say that their hopes are unjustified…

They are now discontinuing the Baleno/ Esteem, replacing it with the SX-7. My only prayer..I hope they call it the SX-7, release it as a hatch that she really is..(add-on boots kill the design..not to mention those atrocious patch-on tail-lamps!) and then maybe offer the boot version as an option.

When this happens, I will finally agree that Indian car designs & sensibilities are on the same page as the rest of the world…
