President Yudhoyono said the success in terms of substance would be the mark of Indonesia’s success as host. Substantive success could be shown in the form of agreements made or documents about ASEAN. Here in  Bali we can produce declarations or whatever as a historic document to overcome regional or global problems, he said.  The ASEAN Summit, he said would also be related with other multilateral meetings such as the recent G20 meeting in France and APEC later in Honolulu.

He said those meetings could be used as comparisons so that Indonesia could present the best for ASEAN. President Yudhoyono said Indonesia has a tradition of being a good host and therefore all parties must maintain the reputation. In the meeting President Yudhoyono reviewed reports from the minister/state secretary regarding the organization of the summit. On the occasion foreign minister Marty Natalegawa also presented various issues relating to the substance of the summit and its related summits.

This museum can shape nation character from the heritage of Puri Badung, said him in Denpasar on Thursday.

In the seminar entitled Museum Puputan Badung, he delivered to keep our spirit. We can transmit nationality feeling not only through advise, school teachings, media but now it will use museum as a media especially for Denpasar people, said Gunarsa. Museum Puputan Badung is also important for tourism sector due to it can attract tourists. It is not only conserving historical objects but also performing cultural attraction. It is proposing good idea but it should support by exact location. I suggests the location of Museum Puputan Badung should be in its original site in Jaya Sabha, residences of Bali Governor, said him.

InterContinental Bali Resort celebrated its 18th anniversary on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, in a series of joyous celebrations involving both the resort’s staff and guests. The happy day began with an early morning, traditional tumpeng ceremony on the lawn of Taman Gita Terrace. A yellow cone of rice, surrounded by spicy side dishes, the tumpeng was ceremoniously cut by the resort’s general manager, Tom Meyer. The tumpeng ritual is a part of many Indonesian ceremonies, symbolizing thanksgiving and the sharing of prosperity. Department heads dressed in Balinese costumes distributed small portions of the rice to well wishers, colleagues and guests.

Later, an anniversary luncheon was held in the Puri Kencana Ballroom for all resort co-workers. The happy lunch featured a number of Balinese delicacies, such as roast suckling pig. A huge birthday cake was cut as balloons dropped from the ceiling. A special video presentation was also shown of milestone moments in the Resort’s history over the past 18 years.

To add to the festive spirit, guests staying at the hotel on the anniversary were offered selected “2 for the price of 1″ body and beauty treatments at Spa Uluwatu. Guest were also extended happy hour benefits until midnight at the Sunset Bar. Throughout the day, every guest also received a complimentary welcome cocktail at check in, a glass of wine or beer during dinner.

InterContinental Bali Resort was opened 18 years ago at a ceremony officiated over by Indonesia’s President Soeharto. The first luxury property of its kind to be built on the shores of Jimbaran Bay, the hotel was designed to harmonize with the surrounding environments and pay tribute to the island’s artistic and cultural heritage.

Many original staff members are still working at the Resort and participated in the anniversary celebrations.

Mayor Denpasar I.B. Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra yesterday (18/10) in Praja Utama Room received Manggala Karya Bakti Husada team from Medical Ministry Indonesia. The team led by Director of Environmental Health of Medical Ministry Indonesia Dr. Wilfried to do health verification towards Mayor Rai Mantra as the candidate of Manggala Karya Bakti Husada receiver. This award aimed to appreciate Denpasar governance under the leadership of Rai Mantra which assessed has high commitment towards sustainable medical program.

Actually the explanation of Denpasar Mayor about their medical program is extraordinary even what had done is innovative, said Dr. Wilfried. It is also attended by the head of Women Dharma Mrs. I.A. Kerthi Rai Iswara, SKPD, the village headman/ subdistrict headman, and Jumantik member (Staff of Wiggler Controller). Wilfied said any efforts of Denpasar Mayor in Medical sector in these few days will verify by assessment team that consists of any components. According to him, assessment team will hold direct interview to the field to see the implementation of medical program whether in puskesmas or traditional market.

They also will chick some public sites. In the other side Wilfried with the team are also admired the innovation of Mayor Rai Mantra in coordinating medical and environment program by forming Jumantik and Jumali. Both groups are very helpful in the effort of handling medical problems. For those reasons, we asked Mayor approval to bring Jumantik and Jumali to the central government so other area will follow the effort of Denpasar Mayor, said Mr Wilfried. Further Mayor Rai Mantra confessed one of the medical program is traditional market revitalization. Traditional market is a meeting site of buyer and trader. Before revitalization, the traditional market looks dirty.

This negative impression should fix besides its management system. In the future we wished traditional market in Denpasar slowly getting the image of friendly and fresh market, said Rai Mantra. Other medical programs are increasing health level of local people such as encouraging puskesmas (central of people health) in Denpasar, building installation of liquid waste management (IPAL), increasing program of People Sanitation (Sanimas), Basic Sanitation of Integrated People (Santimadu) and Medicinal herb scientific.
