Author: Wellington W
Source: add-articles.com

Up Downs Conditioning Drill

Up downs, drills
, is an excellent conditioning drill that will improve reaction time and endurance, drills
, . This drill starts by having the players run in place as fast, drills
, as they can encourage them, drills
, to get their knees up as high as they can. From time to time the coach will signal to the players, by whistle or a command, to get down – meaning that they drop down do a push up and get back up as quickly as possible to run again. As up downs require endurance and strength, players are encouraged to start in slow short burst and work up to longer and more intense sessions.

Ball handling Drill: “Hot potato”

Ball handling is, drills
, one of the most, drills
, vital skills that a player can have on the field, and this drill’s goal is to help players get a better feel and control for the football. The secret to this drill is having the ball constantly moving around and from hand to hand. The drill is simple and starts by having the player pass the ball around their head, torso, arms, knees, and even between their feet from one hand to another in constant motion.

Coaches can mix up the drill by shouting, drills
,, drills
, out body parts that the players will have to start circling with the football; they can also reverse, drills
, the direction that the ball is traveling by calling, “reverse”. The reverse option is an important command as it will keep the players on their, drills
, toes and focuses on concentration, drills
, and ball, drills
, handling.

We recommend that you end this drill by doing several, drills
, football drops. For example, the player drops, drills
, the ball and retrieves it quickly. It will also help to change the hand, drills
, that the player’s uses to pick up the ball to ensure both hands are learning this technique.

Steps, drills
,,, drills
, drills
, to effectively block driving

When talking about the fundamentals of a great offense or defense, you have to know what a good driving, drills
, and blocking techniques are. The drive block is the most fundamental and should,, drills
, drills
, be practiced often. When you want to remove an opponent effectively you will use the drive block, drills
, again and again. If the Defensive lineman is aligned slightly, drills
, to the right of the, drills
, offensive linemen then the drive block with pus the defender to the right. When executing this block start with your play side, drills
,, drills
, foot, meaning if the, drills
, play is on, drills
, the right side of you it will be your right foot. Bring the other foot up quickly and make a solid contact for your drive.

Football Catching Fundamentals

Catching the football properly and effectively is fundamental, drills
,, drills
, to a strong offense. There are three steps of a great catch: First, place your hands in front of you with your palms open and thumbs out forming an open triangle for the football. Second, keep your eyes on the ball through the entire catch. Third, secure the ball tight and high against your ribs, forearm, and biceps. Bad habits can form easily as many receivers look away mid catch to, drills
, scan the field for defenders. This increases fumbles and turnovers. To overcome this habit set up a simple drill where two players pass the ball to each other stopping at each critical step: the catch, the follow through, and the tuck.

Retired climatologist Dr. Tim Ball joins us to discuss the significance of the recently leaked emails and documents from the Climate Research Unit at East Anglia University which expose deceit, duplicity and collusion between climate researchers to maintain the fraud of the manmade global warming theory. These emails reveal stunning behind-the-scenes details about how this fraud has been developed and perpetuated, and Dr. Ball shares his insights on what they show.

So I went to a Thanksgiving party yesterday and I was welcomed in by my almost-the-same-age-as-me co

So I went to a Thanksgiving party yesterday and I was welcomed in by my almost-the-same-age-as-me cousin, who was wearing a blond wig and a pair of sunglasses inside the house. It seems that the few lights that were there were absolutely blinding him to death. I could see the smoke coming out from behind the lenses. Of course, I just sarcastically smiled and passed through, because the whole sight was completely hilarious or something.

No, he looked nothing like this. Hellsing is to cool for him (no offense, cousin). This is more like the cartoon version of Ozzy Osbourne without the speech impediment.

After that, I just sat down and talked with my family as I normally would if I were not in a party. Don’t you find that extremely exciting? I mean, I’m not sure. It seems pretty routine, to me, you know. Holy shit I’m going crazy with the italicizing. But, anyhow, so I went with my cousin (lets call him Ed) to one of the rooms and played some form of unfair 1-to-2 dodgeball with this kid (who also happens to be a relative, apparently), and you could see the fear in his eyes when Ed had the ball. Yet he wanted to continue playing?

Apparently he didn't know the reason.

So what did I do? Knowing I was most likely wack (Whack? I don’t know. Damn these slang terms!) at making a throw that would tear his eyes or die some skin cells, I occasionally passed it to Ed. And the ball was like an angry girlfriend, because you could hear it smack him from miles away.

I accidentally hit him in the balls and he didn’t even whimper – it rebounded. My cousin hit him at his ear, and apparently it imploded and it hurt more than him getting hit in the balls (or maybe his balls are part of his eardrums?), since he started crying.

The funny – well, really, the disturbing – thing is that Ed started filming the whole thing mocking him, and then he even said he’s going to post it on Myspace. What the hell kind of shit is that? That is sick. For real. I just stood there in inner shock giving him [Ed] the face.

The Popeye Face.

Sometimes I think he jokes too much, which creeps me out. I found that sort of insensitive and crap. But I didn’t have the guts to do anything. Wish I would’ve said something. I just left the room, and when I came back Ed was giving him some talk about not crying over stupid stuff like that, to suck it up – which I found even more preposterous. I just carried along with a petrified feeling in mi corazon.

It all seemed familiar though..and that’s when I remembered: he was acting just like CJ, that asshole back in them old camp days. Pfft. What a damn role model. I also realized, that at any minute, he could do the same to me if I get out of my gender box and stuff, you know?

But, anyhow, the kid started feeling better, and there was no more dodgeball after that.

Then, thinking I’m probably going to be going to Xavier, out of all the schools I put down, I asked him how it is there, since he just entered as a sophomore. Apparently, you have to pay for food, and they do teach you how to play instruments, if you join for the class of course, and the homework is fine. Looks pretty good to me.

The he told me I’m going to Harvard, which is cool, though Harvard is just a bit overrated.

He also told me he’s planning on going to West Point. I told him there’s no way in pornographic hell I’d go there. But what I really meant was:

1) What the hell are you thinking?!

2) HA! Good luck wit’ that!

I'm sure it will be fun.

Then after that, we listened to some music – Ed dancing around humorously as I laughed at him, and me interrupting the music on his Blackberry with my radio station. He was trying to do air guitar. Didn’t do very good. I think leg guitar would’ve been better for him – that is, if he’s into contortionist stunts.

The food didn’t taste very good, and I had a lot of it left on my plate. I went and inconspicuously threw it out, because I didn’t want to insult whoever cooked that day. Surprisingly, there was no Turkey.

Dragon Ball: Raging Blast is the latest in a long, long series of games that try to take the superpowered fighting action of the popular anime series and adapt it into a compelling fighting game. The results here prove to be mixed. The visuals ably reproduce the lightning-quick speed and tremendous power that make the battles in Dragon Ball exciting. However, the fighting system lacks the depth and nuance to actually capture that excitement, making Raging Blast a game that Dragon Ball fans may enjoy for its breadth of content but one that has little to offer the uninitiated.

No mountainside is safe from these warriors.

The fights in Raging Blast take place in huge environments throughout which characters can dash and soar in any direction. Movement is handled simply, with the left stick hovering you forward, backward, and to the sides, while the shoulder buttons are used to fly up or down. The camera is situated behind your character and generally manages to keep both you and your opponent on screen, except in situations when you are on different vertical planes. In moments like this, you’re given a great view of your fighter’s head or feet while your opponent is nowhere to be found. It’s easy enough to locate your opponent again–the tap of a button will make you immediately rocket toward your rival–but it happens frequently enough to be a nuisance. And while at first glance the environments look as if they go on forever, this illusion is shattered the first time you find yourself impeded by one of the invisible walls that surround them.

The actual fighting offers a fair amount of complexity but very little depth. There’s a comprehensive training mode in which Goku familiarizes Gohan with all of the techniques, and it takes some time to progress through it all. You’ll practice dash attacks, charge attacks, smash attacks, and numerous other attacks, as well as defense maneuvers. It’s quite a bit to take in, though unlike many fighting games, there are no tricky inputs to memorize for any attacks here. Some actions require a precisely timed button press to pull off, but at most, you’ll need to push a thumbstick in one direction and tap a button to perform even the most powerful of attacks.

This focus on easily performed, extremely powerful attacks helps make the battles feel tremendous, with characters constantly being sent flying backward through the air with such force that any mountains or buildings in their way get obliterated. But it also prevents the core action from being very involving. Performing these devastating attacks that are the staple of every warrior’s arsenal requires “ki,” which you build up by landing relatively weak punches and kicks. There’s no nuance to these standard attacks; they’re all performed with just one button, which you can tap to unleash combos or hold down to charge up a more powerful attack that will send your opponent soaring. But these attacks do so little damage to your opponent that they’re not very useful. The only reason to use these weak attacks is to build up your ki, which makes the majority of fights feel overly simplistic and downright predictable. Ki can also be accumulated by holding down on the D pad, leaving you temporarily vulnerable to attack, but this comes with its own set of problems. For a game whose focus should be intense fighting, Raging Blast requires you to spend too much time slowly building your ki power, drawing attention away from the more interesting aspects of combat.

Raging Blast has a wide variety of modes, the most interesting of which is Dragon Battle Collection. Here, you play through many story arcs from the series, such as the Saiyan Saga, the Frieza Saga, and the Androids Saga, as well as a number of what-if scenarios. Those familiar with the lore will likely enjoy reliving some of their favorite moments here, but the unfamiliar will find the storytelling so poor that they’ll have a hard time making sense of what’s happening, much less finding it interesting. There is some incentive to playing through these sagas because you’ll unlock characters, special moves, and items that you can equip to improve a fighter’s attack power, defense, health or some other characteristic. The grand total of more than 70 characters seems impressive at first, but that fades fast as you realize that they all feel pretty much the same in action.

Here come the pain!

In addition to the stories, Raging Blast has a standard assortment of fighting game modes, such as Arcade, Survival, Time Attack, and a Tournament option that allow up to 16 players to fight it out for supremacy. Unfortunately, competing against friends on the same console is tough to enjoy because the screen is split down the middle, which severely limits your view of the action. Online combat is a better option, but it’s plagued by a significant percentage of competitors who won’t hesitate to disconnect if things aren’t going their way.

The visuals capture the look of Dragon Ball with striking success. The characters look as if they’ve stepped right out of the anime, with the smoothness and speed of the action found in the series faithfully reproduced here. The music is upbeat and catchy but much too repetitive. And while the voice actors bring the same steadfast enthusiasm to this material as they bring to the anime, you’ll quickly grow tired of hearing the same few taunts.

The huge assortment of characters, stories, costumes, and other aspects of Dragon Ball lore cannot hide how shallow and uninspired the fighting mechanics are. There is no depth to your actions, making it a slow-paced race to be the first person to build up your ki power, which quickly becomes monotonous. With the wide assortment of deep and varied fighting games already on the market, it’s impossible to ignore the many faults present in this often-dull anime-inspired brawler.

Last year, Football Manager received its most significant and obvious innovation in some time: the introduction of a three-dimensional match engine. Sadly, the engine was a little rough around the edges, and the rest of the game wasn’t innovative enough to make it a must-buy for fans of the series. This year, however, that new engine has been improved significantly, and sits at the heart of a game that’s stronger than ever, thanks to a host of other improvements across the board.

The core gameplay is unchanged. You start in control of your chosen club as the pre-season kicks off, and then have to set about managing your squad through the upcoming seasons. First off you have the option of watching your squad play a training match so you get a handle on both the players and, if you’re new to the game, the match day controls and nuances. Your assistant manager helps via useful pop-ups to guide you through the nuances of player interaction, and can even pick your team and set the formation for you if you’re feeling a little lost.

The new tactics and touchline instruction options add an extra dimension to the gameplay.

While there is nothing quite as major as a new engine in this year’s game, there are plenty of refinements to every area of Football Manager 2010. The most obvious upgrade is the game’s overview screen, which brings together your news feeds, in-game mail, upcoming fixtures, league tables, transfer information, and a summary of your current squad status. This is a vast improvement over previous home screens, which traditionally focused on your mailbox. The old mailbox still exists as your hub of interaction for much of the game, providing your means of interaction with your fans, management, players, and the press, and is little changed from previous iterations.

The help and assistant-management systems have also been improved. The game is more approachable for new players, while those who are familiar with the series can become more involved than ever before. This is no mean feat given the absurd depth that the series is known for, and it makes the game stand apart from its competition. The help system also makes it easier to appreciate this depth. You have a wide range of backroom staff to call on, and your assistant manager tells you where there are gaps in your staff so you can hire the right people if you feel you need it. These staff members help guide you through the nuances of your squad in a manner that will be much more natural to newcomers than poring through tables of statistics, but those people who live for statistics can do without many of them, leaving more money to be spent on players.

Thankfully, you don’t need to spend time concerning yourself with this level of detail if you don’t want to. If you elect to manage Chelsea with their full skilled backroom setup, you’ll end up with a very different set of challenges than you would managing a troubled, struggling Championship side such as Newcastle. Further help comes in the form of an improved transfer and scouting system. You scout for players in much the same way as before, but the way that individual player reports are presented makes all the information much clearer. This allows you to make an informed choice over signings more easily than in previous iterations. As well as making the general experience more satisfying and engaging, it makes it easier for you to delve into unfamiliar leagues or countries.

The 3D match engine that debuted last year has received a new coat of paint and now both looks and plays significantly better than before. Your teams play in a range of venues that all have stands populated with cheering fans. While the improved match engine still looks downright ugly, it doesn’t suffer from any of last year’s minor glitches, and there is now a range of stadia, complete with fans, that you’ll see your teams play in. Football Manager 2010 has also received a significant gameplay addition during matches–you now have the option to change your general tactics on the fly and shout specific instructions from the touchline without going back to the main tactics menu. This can be done on the basis of what you see happening on the pitch, the wealth of statistics you can cluster around the play area, or your assistant’s in-game analysis of your team’s performance. This makes it more fun and engaging to watch matches play out, because you feel more in control of the way the match is progressing. You can also tell players to switch position via another set of options accessible from the match-day TV view rather than having to go into your main tactics menu to lay out new tactics on your virtual chalk board. The main menu options are still there and are still needed when you want to make mass substitutions or make wholesale tactical changes, but the addition of touchline interaction works very well.

The overview screen is a welcome addition.

The lack of music or an in-game MP3 player for your own tunes is something of a shame. The amount of time you can spend poring over statistics and watching loading screens would be made much more enjoyable with customisable music, especially since the amount of data presented onscreen does not lend itself to running in windowed mode. The crowd effects could also do with a little more variation; while it’s great to hear the crowd cheer at your goals or gasp as you rattle the woodwork, it does seem rather out of place during an intra-squad training game.

Football Manager 2010 is the closest you’re likely to come to managing not only the club of your dreams, but almost any professional football club you can imagine be it a Premiership high flier, a new franchise in the MLS, or a team struggling in Japan’s second division. While none of this year’s additions are revolutionary, they result in a game that adds depth for veteran players while also becoming more accessible for newcomers–it’s a great game that’s accessible to anyone with the slightest interest in football from any corner of the globe.

Hvem er flink til å oppdatere regelmessig? Hveem?

moving on..

Ugh..

This was while i was studying at np library with ball. On a side note, i seriously do feel super old when im back there. Wheres the forever 21 i’m clinging on to? BOO!

Well, he took the entire slap of papers that were for writing at the computer desk as his rough paper and wrote me this while i was engross in studying for monec previously.

-.- right? Do tell me please, which other bf calls their gf’s bitch! BLAHH!

And i suppose he’s apologetic and he wrote me this.

Nothing mushy, but sufficient to bring me to smile. And yes, i recalled the days when we first got together. And we hanged out in np library as well, but not for studying, its to watch movies together at the video section. Haha. Check this out! HEE!

Hmm. As for last weekend:
Belated bday celebration for Matthew aka Mr Jiefu. Was suppose to meet on thurs night, but Jie extended her stay at Bali, so postponed it till Sunday. And we decided to go slacks that day! GOOD for buffet!

Wanted Ikoi, but as usual, theres only counter seats available. Settled for the otherwise, Himawari. A-la-carte buffet, which i felt was rather expensive for their variety of food. But give no doubts to the shabushabu. Shall try the sukiyaki if i’m there the next time. HOHO. As for the rest of the dishes, the grilled ones were thumbs up, and thumbs down for the fried ones. Yep. Ultimately, a good place to go to if you’ve extra cash on hand.
Running with the Ball: The Gauntlet Drill

Ball security has to be the,, drills
, drills
, most important aspect of a strong offensive team. This of course is even more important, drills
, for wide receivers and running backs as they handle the ball more than most. That is why the gauntlet drill was created, to test and practice effective ball security. The drill starts with a player protecting, drills
, the ball as best as he can while running through several, drills
, opponents. The opponents can line up in any scenario, the most common, drills
, being two lines and the ball carrier must run through them. Make sure to take the drill slow at first, and to also have the ball carrier hold, drills
, the ball in several differing positions.

Dehydration is an enemy to football success

Dehydration should never appear on the football, drills
, field, drills
, if both the players and coaches have good habits. Every player should have a water bottle close so that they can take quick water breaks or at, drills
,, drills
, least a swallow here and there. Water should never be used as a motivational or reward type basis. Keeping everyone happy and hydrated will go a long way to a successful practice.

How, drills
, to overpower on the line of scrimmage

Football, drills
, is all about strategy and fining,, drills
, or making weak spots in your opponent, drills
, . Use the proven technique of double teaming to get, drills
, great results on the field! It, drills
, is basically putting two linemen on one. The strategy works for putting a hole in the line of scrimmage as two easily overpowers one. Here are some pointers for this strategy: First, players need to step together, and second lock hips. This forms an impenetrable line in the middle and as each lineman is on the edge of the opponent it will be very difficult, drills
, to go around. Concentrate on this wall so that the opponent cannot duck around or go through the double team. Work it fast and work it hard!

Conditioning: Dot drilling

Strength and reaction time, drills
, is what makes a great football athlete. For this reason, coaches, drills
, like this drill, drills
, for, drills
, its focus on speed and accuracy. In order to execute the drill you will, drills
, need a place with five dots, either marked on the grass or on a mat, forming an x shape much like the dots for the number five side of dice.

The player will start by placing a foot on the back two dots, drills
, and then jumps together to the middle dot and then out, drills
, separating his legs to the outer dots, much like you would see in hop scotch. Next the player will jump touching each dot with on leg only, and then switch using the other leg. After this,, drills
, the player will touch all of the dots with both feet together. The end, drills
,, drills
, step is similar to the first jumping jack step except that this time the player will turn 180 degrees after jumping on the two dots. Players will need to increase their speed and accuracy to be effective with this drill.

By far, my favorite thing about the National Youth Workers Convention in Atlanta was Perry Noble’s m

By far, my favorite thing about the National Youth Workers Convention in Atlanta was Perry Noble’s message to youth workers. Perry spoke on Saturday morning and left most people in the room feeling encouraged, energized, and pumped up for youth ministry. Perry Noble is a 6’ 6” 230 lb. Senior Pastor from New Spring Church in South Carolina. He started off by making a joke about his southern drawl. He said that in heaven, everyone will have a southern drawl, if you don’t believe that, you may not be going to heaven!

Perry’s message was based out of Acts 20:7-12. I’ve spoken to a few different youth workers at the convention and have heard mixed reviews/feelings about this message. The reviews/feelings ranged from “he nailed it,” to “he took the passage and made it apply to his topic!” When someone takes a passage and make sit say what they want it to say, it is known as “eisegesis.” Eisegesis is when you put your own ideas into the text to make it mean whatever you want it to.

For the record, I do not know where I stand on this matter! I loved what Perry had to say but I am not a Bible scholar so I don’t know if it was eisegesis or not.

Anyway, regardless of how you interpret the passage and the message he gave us, it’s time to move on. Perry went on to tell us that he believes there is a breakdown in communication with youth pastors and the church in general. He and many others believe that youth pastors are viewed as glorified babysitters in that we are supposed to watch the kids, teach them a few things, and when they are old enough to attend big people church and tithe; then they matter to the church. This is not the case and it should never be viewed as such. Perry was not saying that this is the case in all churches, but it is definitely something that he has seen happen occasionally. But regardless of whether your church falls into either of these categories, an alarming statistic is that around 80% of students are walking out the door when they turn 18, and many of them are never going to come back!

Youth ministry is a hard and vital job. Most people will disagree with that, but that is because they have no idea what it means to be a youth pastor. They think we get paid to hang out and play video games all day, but that is 100% inaccurate. There are days when we go home from youth ministry and it isn’t “Thank you Jesus!” it’s “Help me Jesus!” Rest assured…there is hope! Perry said that we, as youth workers, are game changers. We work in the ripest harvest in the world and if we can get our minds (senior pastors, youth pastors, volunteers) around several of these soon to be mentioned concepts, we could see a revolution in youth ministry and the local church. When youth ministry catches on fire through the local church, nothing can stop it!!!!

Perry and many of the other speakers who were senior pastors were very much in support of youth workers. Perry has four prayers that he is praying for youth ministry. Those prayers are: For Attention, For Submission, For a Biblical Foundation, and For Stewardship.

For Attention:

In the Bible passage that Perry spoke from (Acts 20:7-12), Paul was speaking to a group of people late into the night (because he intended to leave the next day) and basically had a long message planned for them. There was a young man (a youth) sitting in a window seal in the back of the room who fell into a deep sleep as Paul was preaching. Eutychus fell to the ground from the third story and died. Yikes! Perry said that in this story, Eutychus fell out of the window because no one was paying attention to the youth ministry of that church. When a church refuses to pay attention to the youth ministry, kids fall out of the window and die (a.k.a. – leave the church and never look back) each and every day.

Youth ministry is important, not just for the teenagers but for also for the church as a whole. The youth aren’t the church of tomorrow, THEY MATTER TODAY! Perry said “The kids that we are called to ministry to matter today and the church better wake up and smell the Starbucks because if not, the kids will fall out of the back window and die.” Perry’s philosophy is that you can tell if a church is paying attention to the youth by looking at how much money they spend on them. He says that you can never spend too much on your youth and children. I understand the premise of what he was saying, but I don’t know if it applies to every circumstance. Some churches simply can’t afford to put a lot of money in the youth fund, and they could be the church that supports their youth way more than the church with the large youth fund. Money shouldn’t matter and shouldn’t be a deciding factor on whether or not a church is paying attention to their youth (my thoughts).

Perry does something cool in his church. I don’t think it would work at every church, but it is something to hope for I guess. Perry believes that a youth group should never be asked to do a fundraiser for anything. He doesn’t allow the youth group at his church to do fundraising because he believes that the church and the older people should support them to show that they care.

If we want attention in our youth ministries, we need to start reaching kids for Jesus and seeing lives change! If the adults come into the sanctuary and have no place to sit because of the youth, the older people will pay attention and take them seriously. The last thing that Perry said about this first prayer for youth is that we need to not bang the budget drum, but we need to bang the kids need Jesus drum and change their lives!

For Submission:

The way a youth group gets noticed in the church is when they are completely submitted and sold out to Jesus! Perry says that we need less strategy and more spirit in our youth ministries, and I couldn’t agree more! Not only do we need submitted and sold out youth, but we need leaders who are as well. When God asks us to do something unbelievable, we need to say “Yes Lord!” In the Bible passage, Paul was so submitted to Jesus that he was willing to declare the impossible (that Eutychus was alive). We need to have complete submission.

In order to be completely submitted to God, according to Perry, “you have to be you!” We shouldn’t have the desire to be someone else or do ministry as they do it because you think they’re better than you. When you do this, it is known as ministry envy. You can read a post of mine about ministry envy by clicking here. Perry says that the problem with churches today is that there is too much imitation and no more revelation. He also said that youth pastors have a disease that he invented called “destination disease.” Destination disease is when people in ministry want to be over there (at the other church/ministry) because they think it’ll be better there. This is not true though because you take you with you and it will be exactly the same. You are you!

When we get to the point where we get it all figured out in our ministry, God will say “you don’t need me? Fine…go ahead!” We need to be in complete submission to God. When we do this, it is unbelievable. Leadership is as easy as listening to God and doing what He says! Perry’s prayer is to have a generation of youth pastors and workers completely sold out for Jesus. We are the ones who set the pace for what youth ministry will look like in 10-20 years!

For a Biblical Foundation:

After Paul (with God’s help) brought Eutychus back to life, they went upstairs again and broke bread. Paul got carried away preaching, the youth died, Paul declared something supernatural and brings the kid to life, and then comes back up to keep the focus on Jesus. Paul never stopped focusing on Jesus or teaching about him. This is an example to us. We need to never quite proclaiming who Jesus is to students. They need to know who He is and it is our job to tell them. Some people think that if we focus on only Jesus, then we won’t be relevant. Perry says that we won’t be irrelevant, we will be impotent! We’ve watered our youth ministries down with these next three things and the kids don’t even know who Jesus is when they graduate from or leave our youth groups. 1. Morality – we teach our kids to be good…problem is, if we teach our kids not to watch rated R movies or listen to “bad” music, they can become morally superior to everyone and no one likes them…we can’t teach them to be moral without Jesus. 2. Compromise – Everyone gets caught up in this game. We think that if a lot of kids come to our group and we do all kinds of fun things, we have a great ministry. But in reality, we are compromising who Jesus is to have a great crowd show up. Sometimes, youth ministries let kids show up and say it’s ok to do what you are doing and not repent. When they do this, they are leaving Jesus out of the picture…allowing compromise to creep into that ministry. 3. Personal Agendas – Don’t ever let your personal agenda trump the Gospel! We make our own personal agendas the agenda of the youth group. If we put anything in front of the cross, it becomes an idol in our ministry. Let’s worship God in splendor and majesty rather than trying to boil him down to fit into our social agendas.

For stewardship:

Perry’s prayer is that our prayer would be that we look at God and say “give me the ball…I’ll be hurt and play hurt, but I’ll do whatever it takes to push the ball down the field…I want the ball!” Perry said that in Acts 20:12, the youth ministry got brought back up and the church embraced stewardship…they said they want the ball.

We can do it, no matter how small our budget is. But if our attitude is that we want the ball, money doesn’t matter. It doesn’t happen because of lights, sound systems, looks, but because there is a sold out man and team saying give us the ball…and they are sold out for Jesus. Perry says that the senior pastor needs to make sure the youth ministry has everything they need and the youth pastor needs to sit down with his senior pastor and find out what his vision is…and then line up with that.

God’s plan is that youth ministry will thrive in the context of the local church to make a difference. When the church gets that right, it is on fire and is an unstoppable force!

Perry closed with the following comments:

“It’s always hard when we do what Jesus calls us to do. When we think it’s hard, may we think of Jesus hanging on the cross and bleeding! If no one else tells you this, I (Perry Noble) believe that you are the difference makers. Out of your ministries will be the next Billy Graham and other amazing church leaders! We will not fall…we want the ball!”
