 struggling with an idea, I just toss that around and as Emeril would say, BAM, it comes to me. Like, for instance, I did not have an idea for today’s blog post and I was tossing around the circular ball o’ joy and then I decided to write about it. I got stuck on a lead, and then the ball helped me. So, because of that, I would like to thank my stress ball for all my good luck in stories that have come my way.

I guess I haven’t really had a lot of LUCK, per se, but I haven’t been scooped, so that’s something. And the security guards at the courthouse have nicknamed me “scoop,” which I think is a very good symbol of affection. Speaking of the courthouse, I talked to hot bailiff today. He asked me how the job was going, I said fine and busy, then I looked at his butt. I would have had a lot more game if I was bouncing the stress ball.

And I pissed off some sources today. Not too worried about it, as my friend Nate told me, “If no one is mad, your not doing your job.” Because he was being supportive, I decided to not correct his blatant grammatical error when he used the wrong your/you’re.

WFTV snitches report that Dwight Howard has filed two more suits against his Baby Mama, Royce Reed, and one of them seeks 9.2 MILLION DOLLA’S for allegedly bad mouthin’ him on the net!  The other seeks increased custody of his 2-year-old son, Braylon. 

He’s claimin’ that she “posted defamatory comments” about him online, sayin’ , “ he had another baby in the ATL” , and that he “hadn’t shown up for visitation in d@*n near three months.”

Accordin’ to court docs, he claims he is concerned that this could “damage his endorsement deals with companies like Adidas and Mickey D’s, and “to protect his image as a father”.

And get this: He wants $500 for each negative, multiplyin’ that by the 17,410 times he claims they were viewed!

Tiger-mania?  Hey -we watched Tiger Woo lose,  not to mention millions of dolla’s in the prenup re-write,  but three endorsement deals- and climbin’ –  so far, based on his shyt hittin’ the fan, and chicken-heads cacklin’…   Maybe he’s tryin’ to head the drama off at the pass.

Where is she gonna get that type of bread?

She is fluckin’ up, tho.  She was ordered by a Florida judge to ‘keep Dwight’s name outta her mouth”,  so to speak.    He had just won an injunction against her earlier this month, and the judge broke it all the way down,   blockin’  her from “using or publishing (orally, in writing, or otherwise), directly, indirectly or by innuendo, [Dwight's] name, nicknames, image, brand photographs, and/or likeness.”     Apparently she dissed him on Twitter and in an ESPN interview in October. 

So now she’s defyin’ a court order.   Maybe tis time to shut the fluck up and do it movin’…

Another cheater bites the dust. The same credible source who hipped us to the Shaq and Shaunie O’Neal cheating/divorce drama almost two years ago has given us more juicy info. And it aint looking good for the homie Shaquille.

Said source tells YBF that they have run across emails regarding a secret sexual relationship between Shaq and Wizards baller Gilbert Arenas’ fiance Laura Govan. And Laura is actually friends with Shaunie. Drama!

Allegedly, Laura and Shaq have been friends in public…and more than friends in private…for the past 5 years. Supposedly they’ve been flying to each others’ towns and meeting up at different events.       Kevin Durant wins this week’s Baller Award. From Nov.22-29 he managed to  average 28.7 Pts ,8.7 Rebs, 6.3 Ast, 2 Stl ,1.3 Blks and shot .500 from the field.It also doenst hurt that his team went 2-2 this week. Only Carmelo Anthony and Monta Ellis averaged more points per game.

Just to be safe, I’d like to say that I dug these pictures from my archive and I’m sure I got them from someone’s blog or a forum, I’m not sure. So no hard feelings. It’s not the first time I’m taking something off the Internet and putting it up on my blog “as my own”. After all, I don’t consider any of the content my own anyway – it’s just a collection of stuff I’ve gathered on the Internet that I wanna share with people =D Cheers! Also just to set the record straight, I haven’t been pressured by anyone it’s just that I felt a need to make justifications? lol.

På absolutt alle andre punkter er jeg for full likestilling. Jeg er til og med for menn som føder gjennom rumpen eller andre steder de må finne mer behagelig. Men på dette punktet har man muligheten til å oppnå likestilling ved å forskjellsbehandle.

Det er menn som slår ned folk på byen. Det er menn man er redd for å treffe inne i smuget man må gå gjennom for å komme seg til ytterdøren sin, og det er også stort sett menn som ikke kan ta et nei når klokken nærmer seg nachspieltid. Det er mulig kvinner også voldtar, men det er for det meste ikke sin fysiske overlegenhet de benytter seg av da, og den lille promilleandelen dette gjelder velger jeg å se bort i fra.

Den mer feminine delen av befolkningen bør ha rett til å bære ikke-dødelige våpen. For la oss innse det – norsk politi og rettssystem har feilet. Den svært lille andelen av voldtetkter som faktisk blir anmeldt, fører sjelden til dom. Enten på grunn av begredelig politiarbeid, eller fordi man fremdeles sliter med en juryordning som grunngir løslatelsen sin med at ”han var jo slik en kjekk ung mann”. Og bare for å ha det helt klart. Om du roper på hjelp mens du blir holdt nede en kveld på vei hjem fra byen, er det ikke politiet du tror skal komme deg til unnsetning.

Om ikke tallene spiller meg et puss, så blir ca hver fjerde kvinne i Norge voldtatt, og enda flere grafset på av fulle hankjønn. Det er på tide at politiet kan bruke svidde punghår som bevismateriale etter et voldtetksforsøk. Det er på tide at kvinner får rett til å bære våpen.

Og forsøker du å nærme deg meg når det blir mørkt, kommer jeg til å vente til du har dratt av deg buksene slik at jeg veloverveid kan sikte meg rett inn på ballene dine.

This is a s13 convertible with a front and rear FY31 Cima conversion – Unique. I like it a lot!

Just the type of car you’d like for a drive on a sunny Sunday afternoon. VIP? Check. Drop top? Check.

Drove to the downtown masjid with my mom, fuzzy dice dangling from the rear view mirror alongside my 99 Names of Allah hangy-thingy, feeling like a total baller. (Yes, complete stress on the “er.” Inside joke with my sister.)

Ms. Bonaparte won it for me at the milk can toss at VCC’s Matador Day because I have no coordination when it comes to carnival games. I can make baskets from the top of the key but when it comes to a piddly little tin can at a distance of 3 feet, I am lost.

I did win a really cool keychain by my own wits, though. I had to answer a question correctly in order to get a prize. The question: “Which artist refuses to play ‘Sexyback’ at his own concerts?”

Thank god I found out from a certain artist’s great-great-grandfather that one day, “He will bring sexy back.”

Had some amazing fried fish at the masjid. I forgot to pick up one of the scrumptous-looking cookies, though.

Afterward we participated in a group discussion. I volunteered myself to write down the pertinent points on the whiteboard. At first one side was supposed to be “Issues” and the other side “Solutions” but it wound up being more of a linear “Issue/Solution” layout because I kept running out of space on one side of the board. Sister N. volunteered to write down everything on paper because there wasn’t enough room on the whiteboard for all the points. Man, we wrote a LOT. “They made us work tonight!” I said to Sister N. when we broke for Isha.

I was so happy when Sister N. told me she reads my blog while working out. Awwww. *warm fuzzies* I become ridiculously happy whenever anyone tells me they read my blog. I’m still in denial that anyone even gives a crap about anything I write.

This morning I walked in the neighborhood. It was so beautiful, slightly overcast but with a nice breeze. When I got back to the house I felt like sweeping the driveway. As I was sweeping my sister opened the door and blearily stuck her head out.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“Sweeping the driveway.”

“You know the tree’s gonna crap more leaves all over the driveway in five minutes, right?

“I’m doing it for the exercise!”

I noticed we have a basketball hoop pole…but there’s no hoop. This is the first time I really took a look at it, for a while it was just this annoying pole that I had to make sure I didn’t slam my car door into while getting in or out. There’s a notch at the top where you can install the backboard and once I cut back a few of the branches on the tree I’m gonna have me a veritable basketball court in my driveway, insha Allah. The pole is solidly built, cement poured all around it in the ground. Might as well make use of it. I found someone selling a basketball hoop on Craigslist for $20 about 10 minutes south of our house, so I’m taking a look-see tomorrow.

After sweeping, I installed the mirror in my sister’s room that has been sitting on her vanity for about 2 months. She was happy and made me feel like the best sister everrrr. Then I did a humongous load of laundry, and felt very accomplished and domestic for it not yet being 12 PM.

I started calling around a few places to look for possible alternate venues for the upcoming Al-Maghrib seminar. We have something confirmed for the first weekend, but the second weekend is looking a bit iffy because we need something we can secure for both days. I thought I had struck gold when I called OCPS and inquired about the high school auditoriums.

“Hmm…the auditorium. That’ll be $200…”

I waited with my heart in my throat.

“…per hour.”

And it immediately sank right back into my chest cavity.

I gently intimated that that was a bit out of our price range. Try like, a LOT. We’re still looking at other possible venues, so insha Allah we’ll find something.

Greetings poker fans, it’s been a long time, too long in fact since I have posted anything on the old blog front. Far from slacking however, I have been working hard writing my arse off.

Poker Player

So, to business, I have a Luke ‘_FullFlush1_’ Schwartz feature out in the latest copy of Poker Player magazine – Issue 53 with Vicky Coren on the front cover.

This was an interesting interview, it took me a while to pin young Mr Schwartz down but it was worth it and true to form, the UK’s latest internet phenomenon had some entertaining and often controversial stuff to say for himself. Baller

A lot of the writing I’ve been doing recently is for a new Asian-based poker lifestyle magazine called Baller – check out their website here.

Joe was a pretty cool guy to interview, and I found him a genuinely friendly fella, very chatty and down to earth. We talked about all sorts of stuff but mainly focused on the Asian and Australian poker scene and his life after his World Series win. Feel free to check it out folks.

The mag launches next month (November) and I also have features on the PokerStars Team Asia Pro Bryan Huang who tells me all about the Singapore poker scene and with fellow Team Asia Pro Celina Lin who is currently leading the PokerStars Macau Poker Cup tournament leaderboard. I think they should be posting up some more content on the website after the launch so will keep you posted.

International Man of Mystery

I’ve become something of an international man of mystery recently (only with better teeth than Austin Powers, obviously…) and have been globetrotting with reckless abandon. My only regret is that with all the travelling I missed the GUKPT Cardiff leg.

Now while Cardiff is not as exotic as say Macau or Vegas it is my hometown and I was genuinely gutted to miss the GUKPT tour when it visited last month. Local boy Iwan Jones did us proud finishing in second and he was unlucky not to win. However, it was the Hit Squad’s Karl Mahrenholtz who took the honours along with his first GUKPT title, and being as Karl is an all round nice guy and an excellent poker player, this is no bad thing.

After covering the APPT Macau back in August/September I hit up London for the WSOPE. The final table there was a great one to watch and I found myself chatting with Mr Mahrenholtz about his GUKPT win while we were watching his fellow Hit Squaders Praz Bansi and James Akenhead get to work.

The Hit Squad boys are winning everything in sight at the mo, and the fact that Mr Akenhead has done a Demidov after making the WSOP Main Event final just shows how hard those boys have been working on their games. Praz was unlucky not to finish higher than third, but with Daniel Negreanu and eventual winner Barry Schulman on the final as well as Jason Mercier who is also running red hot, it was far from an easy final table.

Obviously I found some time to do some ‘networking’ (aka drinking) with GUKPT tour manager Jon Raab and had the pleasure of meeting JP Kelly, fresh from his second bracelet win. As well as being a very capable player and rising young poker star he struck me as a thoroughly nice guy and I hope I have the pleasure of interviewing him in the near future.

WPT Marrakech

The World Poker Tour makes its African debut

I was barely home 5-minutes when it was on the road again, this time to the exotic location of Morocco where I am currently in the midst of covering the chilipoker.com WPT Marrakech. Feel free to check out some of the live updates from the Chilipoker blog or Poker News.

Despite a heavy French presence – both Morocco and Marrakech have strong French ties and French is one of the more widely spoken languages here – I have befriended a trio of Italians from PokerTexano.com and have been hanging around with them for most of the time. Chilipoker are the masterminds behind the World Poker Tour’s first foray onto African soil, and we are enjoying the hospitality of the lovely Hotel Es Saadi and the swanky Casino De Marrakech. Day 1 is currently underway as we speak with over 400 players from 32 different countries coughing up the €4,500 (£4095) buy-in to create a monster MD 18,720,000 prize pool, which is the equivalent of around £1.5million.

With high calibre players like Tony G, 1996 WSOP Champ Huck Seed, WSOPE Champ Annette Obrestad and fellow Betfair pro’s Sorrel Mizzi and Jon Tabatabai, Andrew Feldman, Chilipoker’s own Liz Lieu, Antonio Esfandiari, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Bruno Fitoussi and international tournament director Matt Savage, it’s shaping up to be a great tournament.

managed to iron out just under three-quarters of his 20,000 starting stack after running a set of Twos into his opponents set of Nines on a Ten, Nine, Two board. What’s actually impressive here is the fact that he managed not to go broke in this spot.

I bumped into Barny Boatman during the first break who is off to a shakey start; a fellow player managed to cover him in scalding hot coffee before he had even taken his seat and then he took a big hit on level two when his Aces were cracked by his flush-drawing opponent who hit runner, runner two pair to leave Boatman senior with around 8,000.

After chatting to the friendly Welshman I learned he very nearly didn’t make it here at all – when he went to fly out from Heathrow on Monday he realised he had forgotten his passport… Doh!

Other highlights so far include the Boatman brothers success in the High Rollers event with Boatman junior (Ross) taking down the tourney for a tasty €135,535 (£123 338) with big brother Barny cashing in 4th for €41,017 (£37,326). Not to be left out, fellow Hendon Mobster Joe Beevers came 14th in the €1,800 NLHE event for €4,000 (£3,670).
All three Mobsters are currently playing in the WPT Marrakech Main Event.

Wales’ Dave ‘El Blondie’ Colclough is also out here and has managed to bag himself a cash as well, finishing 8th in the €900 NLHE event for €4,927 (£4,483).

Not to be out done I figured it was time to get my name out there as well and I managed to bag second place in the WPT press tourney for $300 – while it’s not going to allow me to retire to a life of luxury just yet, free money is always nice. Not only did this give me bragging rights in the press tent with my fellow media types, but also allowed me to uphold the good name of WPT magazine, who I’m out here covering the tourney for

I should be interviewing both Tony G and Liz Lieu later on today so will let you know how that goes, I’ll see if I can grab and interview with Antonio Esfandiari a bit later on as well.

Next to the Cadillac Escalade, the most desired car that Black People would like to own is the British manufactured Bentley.

The problem is that a Bentley, even a used one, is liable to be out of the average Black Person’s price range. That and the fact that most Black People know that a Bentley parked in an urban neighborhood for too long is a Bentley that wants to be stolen.

So most Black People who do not have corporate sponsorship, a record deal or a Hollywood movie contract must relegate themselves to only dreaming about owning a Bentley. But what makes owning a Bentley so much more attractive to Black People than, say, owning an Aston Martin or a Ferrari? The answers may confuse you.

Long story short, owning a Bentley is the absolute epitome of being “baller“. A Black Person can simply not get any more baller than driving down the road in a Bentley sitting on 23 inch rims. This is not to say that owning an Aston Martin or Ferrari isn’t also baller, but a secret panel of Black People that were all recognized as being baller held a vote to determine which automobile was the most baller and the Bentley won out (the Rolls Royce came in second).
