<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p><a href="http://bellurramki18.wordpress.com/"><strong>BELLUR RAMAKRISHNA</strong></a> writes: Kannada cinema has lost both its eyes in the space of 44 months: <strong>Dr Raj Kumar</strong> in April 2006 and <strong>Dr Vishnuvardhan</strong> in December 2009.</p>
<p>I have compiled a list of similarities and differences between the &#8216;<em>Natasarvabhouma</em>&#8216; and the &#8216;<em>Abhinava Bhargava</em>&#8216; in their life and death.</p>
<blockquote>
<p style="text-align:left;"><strong>1. </strong>Raj Kumar was born on the 24th: 2+4 =6; Vishnuvardhan was born on the 18th: 1+8 =9, both 6 and 9 are multiples of 3.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><strong>2.</strong> Raj Kumar died on the 12th: 1+2 =3;  Vishnuvardhan died on the 30th: 3+0 =3, again multiples of 3.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><strong>3.</strong> Raj Kumar died in ‘06; Vishnuvardhan in ’09; both years are multiples of 3.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><strong>4.</strong> Raj Kumar died two days before new year’s day as per the <em>Souramana </em>calendar;  Vishnuvardhan died two days before new year’s day in the Gregorian calendar.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><strong>5</strong>. Raj Kumar and Vishnuvardhan both died on Wednesday.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><strong>6</strong>. Muthuraju: 9 letters; Sampath Kumar: 12 letters, again both multiples of 3.</p>
<p><strong>7</strong>. Raj Kumar was born on the 24th and died on the 12th, a difference of 12 days; Vishnuvardhan was born on the 18th and died on the 30th, again a difference of 12 days.</p>
<p><strong>8.</strong> Raj Kumar died in <strong>Ramaiah</strong> hospital: Rajkumar and Ramaiah, both starting with R; Vishnuvardhan died in <strong>Vikram</strong> Hospital: Vishnuvardhan and Vikram, both starting with V.</p>
<p><strong>9</strong>. Raj Kumar&#8217;s birth and death was in the same month, April; Vishnuvardhan&#8217;s birth and death was in the same city, Mysore.</p>
<p><strong>10</strong>. Raj Kumar’s film career started in &#8216;54: 5+4 = 9; Vishnuvardhan’s film career started in &#8216;72: 7+2 = 9.</p>
<p><strong>11</strong>. Raj Kumar received honorary doctorate from Mysore University in 1976, 22 years after his first film; Vishnuvardhan received honorary doctorate from Bangalore University in 2005, 33 years after his first film.</p>
<p><strong>12.</strong> Raj Kumar’s 100th film was released in 1968; Vishnuvardhan’s 100th film was released in 1986.</p>
<p><strong>13. </strong>Raj Kumar and Vishnuvardhan both took 14 years to reach the 100 film mark.</p>
<p><strong>14.</strong> Both Raj Kumar and Vishnuvardhan died after a massive heart attack. Raj Kumar died on the 12th day; Vishnuvardhan died in the 12th month.</p>
<p><strong>15</strong>. Raj Kumar was cremated in Kanteerava Studio, north Bangalore; Vishnuvardhan was cremated in Abhiman Studio, south Bangalore.</p></blockquote>

<p>One was 76 when he passed away; the other was 59. One acted in over 200 movies; the other in close to 200. One had 10 Filmfare awards, nine State awards; the other had seven of each. One had an honorary doctorate from Mysore University; the other from Bangalore University.</p>
<p>Although they represented different generations,<strong> Dr Raj Kumar</strong> and <strong>Dr Vishnuvardhan</strong> occupied the Kannada cinema landscape for close to 50 years. The range of roles they essayed earned their own set of fans. While the fact that Raj Kumar was a Padma Bhushan and a <strong>Dadasaheb Phalke</strong> award winner might appear to seal the debate, Vishnuvardhan&#8217;s acting was not to be sniffed at.</p>
<p>However, there has been almost no critical debate on the two actors, given the &#8220;sensitivity&#8221; of the topic, although it is routine to find movie and sports stars being compared and evaluated across the globe.</p>
<p><strong>Question</strong>: Who was the better of the two actors? Whose roles and movies will be remembered more? Whose legacy will last longer?</p>

The event will be held at the Jnana Jyothi auditorium in Central College from Nov 9 to 11. Registration for the individual event is Rs 50 &#38; groups event is Rs 100. Winners will be representing at South Zone Inter-University Youth Festival. </p>

<p>The winners will represent the university at the South Zone Inter-University Youth Festival. Entry fee for any individual event is Rs 50 and Rs 100 for group events. Colleges are requested to remit the amount to State Bank of Mysore, payable to Finance Officer, Bangalore University.</p>
<p>For registering the event, participant colleges must sent the participation schedule to Cultural Coordinator, Bangalore University, Youth Festival, Department of Performing Arts, Sneha Bhavan, Jnanabharati campus, Bangalore &#8211; 56.<br />

<p style="line-height:19px;margin:.5em 0 1em;padding:0;"><strong>ಸಮಾರೋಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಎನ್ ಎಸ್ ಅಶೋಕ್ ಕುಮಾರ್, ಬಿ ಕೆ ರವಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ರೂಪಿಸಿದ ಎರಡು ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. </strong></p>
<p><strong>ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಮನೋಜ್ ಬಿ ಎ ವರದಿಯ ಆಯ್ದ ಭಾಗ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ.</strong></p>

<p>&#8230;ಇಂದಿನ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮೋಹನ್ ಅವರು ನೀಡಿದ ವಿವರವಾದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ, ರಿಪೋರ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೆ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಹೇಗೆ ತಯಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಅದನ್ನು execute ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಕಲಿತೆವು. ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ನಾವು feature writing ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಪಡೆದೆವು. ಯಾವ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳು, ಯಾವ ಟಿವಿ ಚಾನಲ್ ಗಳು ಯಾವ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಲು ಶ್ರೀಜಾ ಮೇಡಂ ವಹಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರಮ ನಮಗೆ ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಯಿತು. ಆಗಾಗ ಸುಘೋಷ್ ರವರೂ ಸಹ ನಮಗೆ ಅತ್ಯುಪಯುಕ್ತ ಸಲಹೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.</p>
<p>ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ Zee ಟಿವಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಭೇಟಿ, ಸಿದ್ದಪ್ಪ ಕಾಳೋಜಿ, ಜೋಗಿ, ಅಮೆರಿಕಾದ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಸಂವಾದಗಳೂ ಬಹುಕಾಲ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯುವಂತದ್ದು ಹಾಗೂ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ಮೇಫ್ಲವರ್ ನ ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳಿದೊಡನೆ ನಮಗೆ ಸಿಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಗೌರವ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದಂಗುಬಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವು ಬಂದೆವು.</p>
<p>ನಮಗೆ ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್, ನಯನ, ರವೀಂದ್ರ ಕಲಾಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪರಿಷತ್ತು ಮುಂತಾದ ಕಡೆ ವರದಿಗಾರಿಕೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದು ಕೂಡಾ ಬಹಳ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಉದಯೋನ್ಮುಖ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತನೂ ಹಂಬಲಿಸುವ ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಸಂಪಾದಕರಾದ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರ ಭಟ್ ಅವರ ಭೇಟಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ನೀಡಿತು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಡ್ವೆಂಚರರ್ಸ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನವೂ ಬಹಳ ಆಪ್ಯಾಯವೆನಿಸಿತು.</p>
<p>ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಮಿತಿಯನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಫ್ಲವರ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಶ್ರಮ ವಹಿಸಿದೆ. ಅದರಂತೆ ನಾವು ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರೆದುಕೊಂಡೆವು. ಮೇಫ್ಲವರ್ ನ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ನಮಗಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಹಾಗೂ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದೆವು. ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದು ಮೇಡಂ ಆಗೂ ಮೋಹನ್ ಸರ್. ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವು ತೆರೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಂತಸ ನೀಡಿದೆ.</p>
<p>ಕೈವಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಕಿರುಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯದ ಕಾರಣ ಹಾಜರಾಗದೇ ಹೋದದ್ದು ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕವಾಗಿ ನನಗಾದ ನಷ್ಟವೇ ಸರಿ. ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ಇತರ ಸಹಪಾಠಿಗಳು ಈ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಲಿಯುತ್ತಲೇ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಕಡಿಮೆಯೇ. ಇದು ನಮಗಾದ ಲಾಭವೇ ಸರಿ.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>As the title rightly suggests, my semester is almost coming to an end. It is only a month away to bring down the curtain for this glorious semester. Now, when I look back its a feeling of mixed emotions of the journey that I&#8217;ve made from nothing.. absolutely nothing, to a sense of gaining self-worth, self-realizations and of course backed up with a lot of Learning.</p>
<p>The life of an Architectural student is always exciting. Every morning he/she wakes up having something to look forward to, either at studio or on the personal front, full of optimism and hope is what makes up most of the student&#8217;s life. Everyday the sun ascends from the horizon bringing something for us to learn, accept and live with it. Sometimes they are very desired and pleasant and other times they are simply don&#8217;t match the former.<br />
Somehow, every semester takes them to a brand new gutter, exquisite and immensely unique from one another, and still succeeds in looking up at the stars, hoping to conquer them someday!<br />
Well.. here it is.. even before I realized the semester was in full swing and I was just getting used to the whole idea of the brand new things I encountered all this time, its going to be over, the end&#8217;s not near&#8230; Ironically, its here!!<br />
So all of us(me &#38; my buddies) are as usual working with full gusto to meet our tutors&#8217; expectations. Wish us the best!!</p>
<p>I will be back with some quality posts(which I&#8217;ve missed to post from quite a long time) as and when I can take some time out from my current flame, Architectural Design.</p>

<p>As a process, Architecture is the activity  of designing and constructing micro-level to macro-level buildings which  aid, aim and serve different sectors of a community.</p>
<p>The primary objective  here is to fulfill the needs of the community by considering various  practical elements encountered at the space and place of construction.</p>
<p>The secondary objective here is to juxtapose the creative components  with the scientific and mathematical principles to formulate an art  work like a “habitable sculptures” to the community which can customize  it according to their personalities and taste.</p>
<p>Humans are social animals. They are  intelligent beings. They communicate and develop relationships with  other humans. It became incidental to have a specific space where they  could congregate and interact with other human beings.</p>
<p>Humans developed  the theory of Markets and other Public gatherings (where groups of people  come together for one purpose) and bought them into practice long time  ago. These activities used to take place every week or once in 3-4 days.</p>
<p>After centuries passed, Man’s protective nature arose and he realized  he needed public buildings especially buildings which reflected the  community’s Cultural heritage, Political Power and Prowess and of  course works of Art. Then the need for public structures grew exponentially  because by then it was not only the “need of the hour “but was also  a question of the “identity” of the community.</p>
<p>Every community strived  hard to make their mark in the History and showcase their Talent, Power  and Passion to stand out and dominate the known world.</p>
<p>In this competition, many civilizations  fought for supremacy. They recognized the “types” of spaces  needed for the generations to come and go and they proceeded accordingly.  They took huge risks economically, socially, psychologically and technologically  and made a difference to the civilization’s history where it made  an individual mark and still stands tall as a silent, solid spectator  amidst of all the actions made by the modern world.</p>
<p>The structures were  the majestic symbols of Power, Intellect, Justice and Peace. They symbolically  represented the secular strong state’s objectives and purposes. Well&#8230;going  by that nothing much has changed in the modern world.</p>
<p>The nations are  still recognized by the structures and Architectural monuments they  boast on their land. Ex: The Colosseum-Rome, The Taj Mahal-India, The  Pyramids-Egypt. Whether we like it or not, Public Architecture has become  the way of identification of nations.</p>
<p>All these things made a difference  in the psychology of the people who were a part of the state. The Romans  still, to this date have their share of credits in Architecture, Law,  Philosophy, Politics, Governance, Religion, Language etc, and this cannot  be ruled out.</p>
<p>The same way many empires gave us Architectural marvels  which were constructed for some pre-defined purpose and which had their  destiny written to be served as something else later on. Ex. Many Roman  basilicas, during the roman time used to serve as Halls of Justice (disposing  legal matters) and Marketplaces (business transactions).</p>
<p>Then many of  them were later converted to Churches as Christianity was on becoming  more and more popular among the masses. These spaces were responsible  in making a difference to the lives of the people who used to come to  this space with hope or despair. Emotionally and economically they did  what they could.</p>
<p>This period is referred to as a “Period of Antiquity”  by the Architectural theorists. Vitruvius, the most prominent Architectural  Theorist in the Roman Empire known today was active in this period.  He wrote the “De Architectura” which is a comprehensive major book  on Architecture which covers almost every aspect of Roman Architecture.</p>
<p>It also gathers 3 fundamental laws that architecture must obey, in order  to be so considered: <em>firmitas, utilitas  and venustas </em>meaning Firmness, Commodity (in sense of functionality)  and Delight.</p>
<p>The contribution of Vitruvius to Architectural  theory made this phase very unique. His books were published and the  people were compelled to realize the attributes of the spaces they utilized.  This made the symbiotic relationship of humans with the structures even  more special and relevant to the generations to come.</p>
<p>After renaissance,  Medieval Architecture was eventually seen as obsolete and barbaric and  thus Gothic became popular. As the saying goes, “All good things must  come to an end” thus the dusk fell upon the gothic style which then  gave rise to Neo-classicism(architecture in the 19<sup>th</sup> century).This  architecture was the result of the Neo-classical movement that took  place in the mid-18<sup>th</sup> century.</p>
<p>All these styles of Architecture  have made unique and worthful contributions to the History and Mankind.  He has made mistakes and has learnt valuable lessons from them. It has  helped in developing basic guidelines in the subject.</p>
<p>Then the modern world saw the dawn  of Industrialization which gave birth to a rebellious style of Architecture  the previous world had known. It was named as Modern Architecture. It  revolutionized the way public buildings were perceived. It was prominent  in its conservative architectural elements and had aesthetic elements  like symmetry, proportion, balance and rhythm.</p>
<p>Many new principles of  architecture were chipped in. The Elimination of Ornament joined Form  follows Function as a principle of Modern Architecture. With the technological  advancement, the styles of Architecture became more and more short-lived.</p>
<p>Towards the end of the century, the modernism was accused of being narrowly  normative and doctrinaire. It was not too late that the curtain was  called off on Modernism by its sibling “Post-modernism”.</p>
<p>Post-modern Architecture is generally  thought to be foreshadowed by the return of “Wit, Ornament and Reference”.  Most of the modernist principles were abandoned and rebellious, liberal  forms of principles were adopted.</p>
<p>The buildings grew tall and had unapologetically  diverse aesthetics. These were especially found in the Public Buildings.  The Symbolism factor of showcasing Economic and Political Power of a  nation was renewed and came back into existence.</p>
<p>This factor of the  state was also rubbed off onto the citizens. This resulted in growth  of various spheres which ultimately resulted into a successful and a  happy nation.</p>
<p>Today the Architecture is more experimental,  innovative and futuristic. Ex. Techno-Architecture, Cybertecture etc,.  It has the concept of “breaking the mould” or thinking “out of  the box”.</p>
<p>We are seeing more and more of organic, expressive and sustainable  buildings. In the wake of Global Warming, Green Architecture has become  the mantra for almost every architect. Innovations, Conceptualizations  and Prototyping are happening everywhere.</p>
<p>As the technology is advancing  rapidly, firm definitions of Green Architecture are expected. While,  on one hand, fully glazed buildings using photosensitive glass product  with green terraces may be rendered as green; on the other hand, buildings  with adequate comfort conditions without the use of Air-Conditioners  would not find favors with the LEED rating system. The range is vast  but we still need to define the boundaries.</p>
<p>The market today is flooded with intelligent,  interactive, advanced products which are both Green and competitively  priced to attract the designers.</p>
<p>With so many options it is the architects’  responsibility to creatively mix the products with his/her ingenious  way of Architectural Design which comprises the old school thought of  “showcasing power and other symbolic elements” seamlessly merged  with the new school’s “Green building with an Organic form which  is tall and aesthetically appealing”.</p>
<p>The buildings now are customizable  to the extremes. Technology has made a lot of difference the way one  perceives Architecture.</p>
<p>The walls change color according to the user’s  mood, Windows re-create the sense of day and night according to the  user’s preferences, the doors are highly intuitive and they don’t  need the user to lock them when they leave for work, the bathroom prepares  itself with hot water in the tub at a customized temperature and prepares  the surroundings with soothing music.</p>
<p>All these things definitely make  a difference on the mankind and the good news is it only gets “better”  by the day!</p>

<p>In today&#8217;s classrooms it is commonly seen that the use of this medium is encouraged and practiced by both students and teachers. Multimedia presentations like Movies/Flash Presentations and PowerPoint presentations to some extent have lasting impact of teaching or a simple act of sharing information in a classroom.Most of us today have subconsciously become <em>visual learners</em>.Therefore learning these techniques not only helps us to do impressive presentation but it also gives us a tremendous amount of opportunity to showcase our creativity through technology.</p>
<p>A thoughtfully and a carefully made Flash presentation or a Movie presentation will never bore an audience unlike the mundane standard presentation .The addition of audio and animation will encourage others to get involved in the whole process thus serving its purpose and making the presentation a <em><strong>success</strong></em>!</p>
<p>In today&#8217;s world Infotainment is the mantra of every business setup.If you have observed the News channels that are 24/7 on the move,trying to bring the breaking news/updating the audience on current affairs, you can see enormous amount of multimedia usage in their style of news delivery be it the current state of economy or a mishap like the suicide of an air hostess that happened recently.They use ample amount of multimedia to deliver the information to the audience in the shortest possible timeline with the highest quality of presentation that they can get their hands on! Such is the Competition!</p>
<p>Well, PowerPoint to Flash converter(http://www.sameshow.com/powerpoint-to-flash-pro.html#110 ) makes it easy for anyone to create professional Flash presentations in a few clicks. With it, you can easily add narrations, animations, interactivity, quizzes, and simulations to enhance your presentations and enrich your audience.</p>
<p>Using these technologies and incorporating them not only intersts the audince but also makes way to the user to interpret his thoughts through visually simulating images. It encourages the brain to think about many things.</p>
<p><strong>For example</strong>: I have observed this pattern in our studio during the initial years(1st year of Architecture design/visual art classes).</p>
<p>Take a piece of paper and draw a plane.The minute you are asked this to do, your brain starts visualizing it. Depending on the personality type you recognize the shapes and sizes and keeping proportion in mind you start drawing something that in the end vaguely looks like a Plane/bird.</p>
<p>Here I made a reference to the personality type because everybody are not the same.Psychologically every human being is very different from each other.While the exercise is still on, one can observe these following behavioral patterns.</p>
<p>Some:</p>
<ul>
<li>dwell on the tail and the wing details.<em>(concerned about the details)</em></li>
<li>frown upon the shape of the wing.<em>(analysis-why should the plane have a certain shape?)</em></li>
<li>think about what should come in the background.<em>(aesthetics)</em></li>
<li>look for a ruler and an eraser.<em>(perfection-scale and proportion)</em></li>
<li>worry about the nationality the plane should belong.<em>(emotional)</em></li>
<li>contemplate whether it should look like a Boeing or a Concorde.<em>(aggressive and competitive)</em></li>
<li>keep the drawn picture at a distance and look at it carefully to assess the proportions and the vague end product.<em>(big-picture,visionary)</em></li>
<li>try to decide what texture it should have or color.<em>(artistic)</em></li>
<li>get confused whether the question was to draw a plane in motion- up in the air/a motionless plane on the runway-still and boring.<em>(definitely ME)</em></li>
<li>with or without pilot.<em>(Anthropocentric)</em></li>
<li>hate the exercise and think of somehow running away from the place.<em>(they are bored)</em></li>
</ul>
<p>This exercise clearly helps us in recognizing the ideas generated by our minds thereby distinguishing the idea as a <em>trouble</em> posed on the existing problem or a <em>solution</em> for it. If it is found in the former group, the brain tries to manipulate it and converts it into a solution.On failure it keeps <em>trying other ways(obviously creative ways) of making it work</em> which we fondly call as <em><strong>Lateral Thinking</strong></em>. Don&#8217;t we all have it in us? Why take pains of shelling out huge sums of money and join<em> groups</em> discussing and teaching &#8220;How to think in a naturally lateral way?!&#8221;</p>
<p>All these behavioral patterns which are present in every one of us keeps us alive and hooked to the presentations.So it is best to design them carefully to the anticipated audience and win accolades for the brilliant work!</p>
<p>I came across this DIY tutorial for using Windows Movie Maker to make fabulous presentations(applying creativity) and movies.Thought of sharing it with you so here it goes&#8230;</p>

<p>The spring break is officially over! Our campus is filled with boulevards of yellow, lavender, pink and blue flower adorned trees. Bangalore University campus is beautiful and gives you a true international campus experience but desi style. It has exotic plant and animal life. Last week every one were excited over the fact that a <strong>Leopard</strong>(which is a campus resident-but hasn&#8217;t harmed anyone so far) had taken to the streets of the campus! Yes! There is ample amount of wild life in our campus. Cobras, Wild owls, Colourful exotic birds, Cuckoos, Wolves, Jackals are a common sight in &#38; around the campus! The green belt that had existed in the 50&#8217;s has been preserved. The campus is also proud of housing the illustrious and world famous Sandalwood trees. It&#8217;s a pleasure to be around the campus in this season.</p>
<p>Now, that the semester has started in full swing. We are still coming to terms with our vacation being come and gone with the wind! Most of us in the vacation worked for NASA competitions and participated in the other academics related activities. With new working pattern being introduced in our studio it is only going to get better as the days and weeks pass-by.</p>
<p>Before the studio regime really sink into our system and start demanding our time, we will have to somehow make some time for our class tour to either Goa or Kerala, 30 of us are really going to bring the gods back to earth in God&#8217;s own land!( you want to know why they will descend from the skies to the earth? We are going to bring it on! Obviously 30 architecture students- freaking out in gods own country! Ha ha! What do you expect?)</p>
<p>It&#8217;s also time we get back to our drawing tables in our studios and get started with the season&#8217;s first design project <strong><em>Old-Madras Road- Metro Station</em></strong> (elevated). Tomorrow we have a design time problem &#8211; as in we will be given a specific time period, we will have to stick around the drawing table to churn out the Design within the deadline. For tomorrow- it&#8217;s from 10 am to 4.30 pm. Now, after this blog entry I will have to do the preparations for tomorrow&#8217;s task of the day! My planner is filled with the pre-charted time allotment scheme-of-things to be done before the sun hits the point in time.</p>

<p>I love Black &#38; Gold color combination.I have used a Black sheet upon which I have drawn Islamic designs(using Gold color)found in the decoration of the interiors and the exteriors of the Islamic Architectural Wonders.I have only emulated the &#8220;simplest&#8221; from the lot(in choosing the border designs) .</p>
<p><strong>It has been a very enlightening and a fascinating experience learning about the exquisite way the Mughals have Perceived,Preserved and Practiced their Architecture.</strong></p>
<p>I found these 3P&#8217;s really intriguing while I was studying about this phase of Architecture.They hold a very special place in the History and the Future of Architecture and its evolution.</p>

In an Architecture school, theory on Art &#38; Architecture is a part of the curriculum where the students require to get acquainted with various forms of expressing art.Among those, Criticism is also a part of the subject.</p>
<p>We, the student crowd of <a href="http://www.uvce.in/"><span style="color:#ff0000;">UVCE College of Architecture</span></a> are blessed to have a panel of highly celebrated, esteemed,illustrious and highly educated instructors. They are all highly experienced group of<span style="font-weight:bold;"> intellectuals</span>.Most of them are the alumni of the same college. They give a LOT of freedom to the student crowd(freedom is extremely imp. in a creative field). They make Art and Architecture seem so easy!In reality.. its NOT!<br />
We all dread from the weekly review and the final studio crit.<img class="emoticon" title="nangih" src="http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/20.gif" alt="nangih" />(Crit- short form of Criticism)</p>
<p>Criticism/to be a critic is not everybody&#8217;s cup of tea.It needs overall understanding of a subject and an ability to give an unbiased &#38; a balanced view in terms of aesthetics,basic principles and secondary principles of Art appreciation on the particular subject.</p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-weight:bold;">Well.. today everything/every piece of work that is done by a human being is taken to the level of an ART.May be.. that is the ultimate key to success in any field.</span></p></blockquote>
<p>They say(esp.Ravindra sir says)..</p>

To be able to give your personal touch, you should connect to the task at hand! <p>We were taught &#8220;How to Criticize?&#8221; in our curriculum.However,it was only limited to Architectural Criticism.We were lucky enough to get an insight on various types of criticisms, basic parameters that are considered while/before criticizing other topics.<br />
Now, Criticism seems like its directly proportional to the life of an Architecture student!<img class="emoticon" title="bising" src="http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/107.gif" alt="bising" /></p>
<p><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism">Criticism</a> in terms of expectations means democratic judgment over the suitability of a subject for the intended purposes, as opposed to the authoritarian command, which is meant as an absolute realization of the authority&#8217;s will, thus not open for debate.</p>
<p>Here are the quotes on criticism, which I seem to have a greater amount of liking.</p>

They say an architect only becomes a TRUE ARCHITECT after he crosses 50!! Just like the surgeons and the lawyers.It takes a lot of time and maturity to understand and evaluate the depth of an &#8220;action&#8221; done onto the society. You have to take the baby steps before you jump and leap.</p>

<p>IT-ITES generates the largest number of jobs in India; currently there are 2.2 million employed in this category. 500,000 are in Karnataka alone; Government of Karnataka (GoK) employs a similar number! Considering the fact that many GoK jobs are in Class III / Class IV, IT/ITES sector is great for jobs.</p>
<p>The &#8220;slowdown&#8221; will impact everyone including IT/ITES; but it will eventually turn for the better; after all it is cyclical; by the time the High School graduates enter the job market (2-6 years from now), the position will indeed be good.</p>
<p>B Tech / MCA are the preferred qualifications. MSc / BCA / BSc too have openings. There is a confusion that IT/ITES careers are only for Math guys; while many engineers have taken to IT, it is open for others too. MP3 was inspired by music, iPod  is a design innovation; so IT is for everyone.</p>
<p>IT-ITES offers a variety; you can pursue M Tech / PhD and even chase a Nobel Prize / Turing Award. You can join services, grow into a project manager, have a &#8220;cool&#8221; and &#8220;comfortable&#8221; job with an attractive salary. You can turn entrepreneurial either immediately or later, and create jobs and wealth; in IT/ITES what you need is a compelling idea and NOT huge initial investment.</p>
<p>You can work in services companies as well as product companies; India has product companies like Infosys Finacle, iFlex, Tally, Subex, Megasoft too. There are R &#38; D outfits like Infosys SET Labs, TCS R &#38; D, IBM Research, Microsoft Research, HP Labs, Intel Research, Motorola research, Nokia Research..</p>
<p>Also there are technology &#38; IP licensing companies like Ittiam and Sasken. There are hardware companies too.</p>
<p>Do remember IT-ITES has a broadband. Not all ITES, is a low end BPO. There are KPO (Knowledge Process Outsourcing) and LPO (legal Process Outsourcing) where you as an expert provide services over a wire at very high charges ($ 100 to 300 / hour!).</p>
<p>IT also has services that may not need a college degree; hardware servicing, support that too in remote areas can be sought even with  SSLC / Diploma</p>
<p>In a nutshell, you have large number of jobs, well-paying jobs, opportunities for wealth creation and jobs for people with varying qualifications SSLC to PhD. You can earn money, win laurels or create wealth; IT /ITES offers all</p>
