Preparation...]]> http://surferbilly.wordpress.com/2012/07/31/florida-alligator-season-2012-just-a-few-weeks-away-preparation-8/ Wed, 01 Aug 2012 03:01:16 +0000 aquapuravida http://surferbilly.wordpress.com/2012/07/31/florida-alligator-season-2012-just-a-few-weeks-away-preparation-8/ The 2012 Florida Alligator hunting season starts in a few short weeks.  The chart below shows some of the Floraida Alligator Hunting Classes still remaining.  These classes are great for veteran and rookie gator hunters alike.  They refresh seasoned hunters and provide a wealth of knowledge for greenhorns.  They also have vendors offering hunting gear and advise on site.  The FWC can answer all your regulation questions while you are there, so you do not have to cut your season short in a pile of resource violations.  The FWC is very strict and will, more times than not, charge you with a violation even if it falls in their numerous “gray” areas.  FWC usually tickets for hunting out of area, so make sure you are crystal clear on your area.  Hunting before or after hunting hours is a popular violation also. Stow/bungie/strap/ductape/etc your equipment before and after hours and when traveling through areas that are not your hunting areas.  They will typically charge you for hunting out of area or outside of hours with a misdemeanor for something as simple as leaving the barb on your harpoon, whether you were hunting or not.  If they charge you with something you did NOT do, please take the time to fight them in court.  If you are in Central Florida, Attorney Eisenminger is thebest and can easily navigate through the FWC’s mangled regulations.  If you choose not to, you will either plead Guilty or No Contest and have to pay anyways, if not serve jailtime.  If they aren’t contested for junk charges they will continue to do it to hunter after hunter.  Many of FWC’s charges are garbage/laughable in court.  I will follow this post with some gator gear and tips for those new to the sport.
