About a year ago, I posted this spoof on my blog connecting the financial crisis, the holiday season, and bail-out fatigue. I thought I would post it again, with hopes that it might bring a smile to your face as we near the end of a very long first year of the Obama presidency. Bah. Humbug!

*****************************************************************************************

The mainstream media has been unwilling to report it, but according to Arcticblog the financial crisis has now affected Santa.

Articblog is reporting that lack of short term financing has caused North Pole Operations to come close to a standstill. In a rare interview with St. Nicholas it was disclosed that the credit freeze has created havoc with NPO’s ability to purchase raw materials for the toyshop, as well as make payroll for a relatively large workforce of elves. Additionally, suppliers of finished goods such as Hasbro and Mattel have been forced to withhold shipments of orders to NPO pending payment for prior orders. An unidentified elf union representative indicated that there already have been substantial layoffs, and he’s worried that even with wage concessions by the union NPO simply won’t be able to supply the planet with gifts this season. He added that a permanent shutdown wasn’t out of the question.

NPO’s problems began last summer when the annual purchase of hay and grain for the reindeer saw unprecedented costs for both the commodities and shipping. “The grain and hay we bought were unfortunately nearly at the peak of their value. Corn was $7.23 a bushel and wheat was around $8.00. And then the freight to get it here was astronomical. Diesel fuel was $4.90 a gallon at the time,” Nicholas said. Much of NPO’s cash reserve was apparently used up covering the additional expense. By the end of September, NPO was no longer able to arrange short term financing as the credit markets began to freeze up. The toyshop was at peak annual production but raw material inventory was running low due to NPO’s inability to pay suppliers. Eventually production slowed and the first round of layoffs came.

Nicholas declined to comment when asked about rumors that he will be traveling to Washington DC this week to meet with representatives from Congress, the Treasury department, the Federal Reserve, and the Obama transition team. Experts reckon that NPO has to have their financing in place no later than December 15 in order to meet its production and delivery deadlines, although there are further unconfirmed reports that a joint venture contingency plan involving Walmart and FedEx is being considered. One of the currently laid-off toyshop employees, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said, “Look, they’re going to bail out GM and Chrysler. So why not us?”

Why not indeed…After all, isn’t Santa “too big to fail”?

Well, I listened to the President’s speech the other night. It was not what I wanted to hear.

Well, I listened to the President’s speech the other night. It was not what I wanted to hear. I’m a product of Vietnam and a seemingly never ending Middle Eastern crisis. I don’t believe in happy endings when it comes to war torn planet earth.

I support the President’s decision however. No, it’s not the knee jerk, anything goes since he’s one of ours. I continue to disagree with Mr. Obama on a number of issues. I want Gitmo closed and now. I’m tired of the delays.

I want the “don’t ask, don’t tell” ended in the military. I wanted that done like January 21, 2009. I wanted a more supportive stance on gay rights in general.

I am sad that Mr. Obama supports the death penalty, and I wish he didn’t. I want this barbaric practice stopped everywhere.

I want universal health care for everyone, period. Perhaps he agrees with me on this, but he’s clearly ready for more compromise than I am.

The point is, is that I can disagree, while overall still supporting Obama because he is heads and shoulders above any alternative. My proclivity to despise my opponent (Bush and McCain for instance) is known. The Contrarian suggests that if GWB discovered a cure for cancer I would refuse it. That might be true. But it doesn’t stop me from objectively concluding that my choice is not without error in his political decisions some times.

President Obama got stuck with a mess not of his creation. That divine honor goes to Bush/Cheney/Rummy/Karl/ and the rest of the crew of incompetents. Mr. Obama is one of the brightest humans around and surrounds himself with top notch advisers. I have spoke my opposition, but I will wish this enterprise well and deeply hope that he knows a good deal more than me about the options and likely results.

Speaking of Tiger, (well, I segue my way), I’ve said that I don’t care about his personal business and it’s none of mine in the end. Yet the question remains to me, exactly when did we determine that our heroes were somehow above the rest of us in virtue? We seem to have come to that conclusion, but I want to know when.

If we look back to the time of Greece and Rome, there is no question that the ancients of that time regarded their gods and heroes as having “feet of clay.” Their limitations and their foibles were well known and alluded to in literature of the time.

Somewhere all the line, we changed and we imbued our “heroes” whether they be silver screen members or sports stars, with some perfection once reserved only to newborns. Somehow we have placed all our failure to live up to our own expectations on the backs of strangers and tried to live the virtuous life through them I guess.

Tiger Woods appears to be an expert at this. He has courted the celebrity spotlight, becoming probably the highest paid endorser of products, all the while, until now, keeping his private life just that, private. But alas, once the genie is out of the jar, well, the dam burst and the torrent of rumor and innuendo seems endless now. And sadly, it’s all so very predictable.

Predictable to us mere mortals who seem to know instinctively that sooner or later media mega stars are going to get caught if there is anything to be caught about. Too many eyes peering at you Tiger, from the housekeeper in the posh hotel to the guy pumping gas at the local station. They are all watching, and once the talk begins, they add their voices to what becomes a crescendo of accusation.

I guess I wonder when we will learn to pick better role models or not expect what cannot be lived by them. It seems mostly a function of ours and their immaturity.

Speaking of the Contrarian, he’s in rare form these days. I suspect you may not have realized it, but the Contrarian specializes in commercial examination. He has done a considerable study and has pondered the evidence with care. He concludes that the Victoria’s Secret commercials remain the standard by which all other commercials should be judged. They somehow have this amazing ability to never get old, never bore, never objectify, never offend.

I leave that to others to decide. I’m his wife after all, and I tend to think he is always right. Well, at least unless I’m more right. Then he’s wrong. But publicly, we keep a strong unassailable front.

He figures that all his ogling research into scantily clad women certainly puts him him high on the list for his next interest: namely that he has heard that there is a profession known as “sexual anthropology.”

He would like to inquire into becoming one. He offers that he’s amenable to a work study program. I said I would check out the opportunities for him, via the computer. Yeah, and pigs fly and it’s don’t rain in Indianapolis in the summertime.

Oh, just in case anyone is asking, his strength is returning. After a bout with wild eyebrow hair, he’s recovering nicely. Let me just explain briefly.

“I have these hairs from my eyebrow and they are hanging within view, and I need them cut.”

“Go get the spoon dear.”

Yes, yes, the masculine bohemoth I am married to, needs to cover his eye with a spoon as I approach with manicure scissors to clip a couple of stray hairs. With a dose of OCD that would curl the nose of even Howie Mandel, the Contrarian man’s up to the occasion when he must expose his jugular eyebrow, to the ever aging and shaking hands of his wife, the “Butcher of Troy.”

Within moments as I snip away, he is screaming like a girl, “I heard that, I HEARD that, you hit the spoon with the scissors! Be CAREFUL!” I nod, and shake my head, roll my eyes, and comfort him like a child getting his first cavity filled, “There there now, relax, we’re almost done.” Welcome to my world.

***

This effectively turns the IRS into a health care enforcer. For example, if an employer does not pay 72.5 percent of a single employee’s health premium (65 percent of a family employee), the employer must pay an excise tax equal to 8 percent of average wages.
Obama’s health care bill threatens businesses and working individuals with a new battery of taxes but taxes won’t be enough to help offset its costs. To help offset costs, the bill takes away tax incentives designed to encourage businesses to invest into the economy in certain ways, such as investing in solar cell technologies.

As if this weren’t bad enough, the Cap and Trade bill looms on the horizon. If passed into law it will further tax industry. Economics 101 tells us that tax burden will be passed to the consumer.

At this point it would appear America is on the verge of being taxed to death and suggests President Obama’s tax and spend policies will continue to exacerbate America’s anemic economy even further.

It is the interest on the national debt that makes our future unstable. The exploding size of that burden suggests that, short of devaluing the dollar and taking a large bite out of the middle class through inflation and taxation, there is no way to ever pay down that bill.

Hokum Juice, Ticky-tacky, and Political Bunkum now run rapid throughout our political system. It’s a systemic hooey that is fast growing old among the voters, but as politician habits run these days, it just normal. The politicians do all the talking and do not want to listen to their constituencies. They barter their influence to the highest bidder.

We are talked down too, told we are gate crashers, instigators, evil town haller’s, told we do not understand the real problem, and informed that the politicians know better than we do in running our private lives. We are patronized and belittled to our faces from our own politicians. Far too many are generally scrutinized by our own Homeland Security Agency as possible terrorists.

There is a war on you know. When the head politician pays no heed to his own people, why should we be surprised when we hear he does not listen to our Generals in the field?

Our national economy is suffering so much and the harm to our middle class may be irreparable as there has not yet been any light at the end of a very dark and long tunnel of despair, yet this same middle class and its wonderful entrepreneurs are treated by the government as compost. Remedy is a waste of time for politicians who would rather tax and spend our future away. The one group of Americans that provide the most jobs in our nation are only so much baloney to be gobbled up by tax and penalty tax spending politicians who refuse to listen to the voters.

Like Roman Senators of old, they are corrupt —opting for power and prestige over taking care of the folks. Like old political whores, they vie for position and personal entitlement. They would sell their own honor if need be and many have. Ask Charlie Rangel, Collin Peterson, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barack Obama, Maxine Waters, Randy “Duke” Cunningham, Tom DeLay, and a whole host of others who have no sense of personal honor let alone public responsibility. Ask any of the new so called Czars that now work behind the scenes to corrupt your hard fought for freedoms and God given rights. Rangel can serve as a prime example of this deep corruption, swindling for himself millions while no one prosecutes him.

What are voters to think of all this?

Well, we voted these crooks into office and we can vote them out. However, the damage is done and more is coming down the pike. By the time elections are again the focus; the slick tongues will be licking their twaddle and driveling all over the place once again, spewing their vote enhancing claptrap. And there will be voters that will believe them and put them right back into office.

These politicians do not harbor a sense of accountability to the public trust. Power is the game and money drives the game. Never forget that.

It is so hard to find good decent people to run for office today, as the opposition spends more money digging into their past and trying to destroyed them publically, rather than argue over public issues and concerns. Often, these decent people want nothing to do with it and they don’t want to put their families through the public wringer.
Sara Palin is a prime example of this accusing public drumhead trial as opposition went right to her daughter’s jugular, not to hers. They still attack her family on a daily basis.

It is the world turned upside down. All of the decent values that started this country up and created its first government are all disparaged and demeaned in public with a drumming regularity that defies normal understanding. But, that is the real peril, isn’t it?

When the abnormal becomes normal, the trouble comes. When the deviant are hailed as decent, when the atypical is more popular than the typical, when the irregular is viewed as more acceptable in place of the regular, trouble comes in spades.

That is the Peril of America.

At 7 am, the Contrarian comes to wake me up. “Babe, babe, ….babe, it’s 7. . . .” he croons. Today, it was punctuated by a second statement. “Are you ready to be shocked?”

“mmmwhhhat?” pushing the cobwebs from my mind.

“Obama won the Nobel prize.”

“For what?”

“For peace.”

“Where?”

“I dunno, I guess for everywhere.”

My immediate reaction was, “Oh, lordy, Hannity and the Fox nuts must be preparing the samurai swords for hari kari.” (before you start, I know hari kari is incorrect. But I’m NOT looking up the correct term.)

That was more than enough incentive to bounce out of the bed and get the TV on. And the Contrarian quickly began arguing quite convincingly that this was not a “day for man work” given that such “perfect days seldom come along” when we can sit and watch “Fox implode all day.”

I’m normally not into “breaking news” since, by the time you get here, you already know it anyhow. I’m not a 24 hour news service. I generally wait until there is a back story that rises up and suggests a look. But this is just too delicious you know to put off.

I mean, good grief through all those long eight years of misery, at least we could count on the fact that the international community was in solidarity with us in our agony of mediocrity. They hated the dumbed down cowboy as much as we did, for both his utter incompetence and his arrogant swaggering of American power to the detriment of all.

How must the rabid nearly incoherent right feel, as once again the Antichrist has managed to come up smelling like roses? I mean can you imagine the number of newspapers that are being shredded by snarling maws of insane hatred? Coming on the heels of their utter glee that Chicago was turned down for the Olympics, it is like alcohol on the wound, no? They must be squealing again about how the world is a cult of Obama.

Taking the wind from their sails, they now find themselves once again forced to mute up or find excuses, or yes, even to rant at the unfairness of it all. Why cannot EVERYONE get it that this man is the evil genie sent by Satan to destroy the world? Why is it only they, this small remnant of not so well educated, not so well paid, workers who get it? I can imagine, just barely their agony.

No, I’m not one to gloat, no I am not. I take no pleasure in telling you these things. No I don’t. I mean I felt bad when Tommy Delay had to quit Dancing with the Stars due to stress fractures. I can understand his misery, I’ve felt misery from the stress he’s delivered me for years. I can empathize. I surely can.

Foxy missed not a beat, turning the announcement on its head. This is not praise or recognition for Obama and thus for the US, but actually another cheap shot at Bush. They, (the world), hated him you know. WITH GOOD REASON FOX! If Fox could ever get the reality of things. Bush was a gnat, a nasty creature who irritated a good portion of the globe, but he is gone, and I doubt many are spending must time and effort in finding ways to “pay him back.” History will do that quite nicely, thank you.

Rethugs are no doubt huddled together trying to figure out a strategy to deal with this. More impetus to the health care reform which has, it seems, finally turned a corner of sorts. The polling is now decidedly on the side of public options and Republican “positives” are in single digits these days.

They rather clearly thought it bad form to express their happiness at the Olympic thing. Plenty of it got out, and they looked, well, unpatriotic. How to remain patriotic and still cast this as somehow no big deal? I saw only Orrin Hatch and he suggested that somehow Obama must gather from this honor that he “just doesn’t represent the left, but all the people.” I don’t know how he arrived at this bizarre conclusion but well, it was an effort not to be seen as sour.

Meanwhile behind the closed doors, and in the trailer parks and world wrestling ring sides, the usual pouting and cursing will continue. The man can give a good speech, but he’s still stupid as, well, I can’t conceive what, since they think Sarah is a intellectual ideal. There will be renewed calls for “gathering our guns and marching” and “getting our country back.” For some, there will be the confounding reality that shocking as it seems, it seems the world is not aware that he’s BLACK! Like Colbert, they “don’t see color.” And there will be more claims of socialism, from the milder nuts, and fascism and Nazism from those that more than likely could spell neither.

What we have here folks is a honor directed to America, represented by our President. It is a recognition that we are trying to repair the damage we have done. That we are fully in the world, not above it. That we recognize our responsibilities and want to bring our considerable power and history to bear for good. For peace and conversation, for empathy, sympathy, compassion, and justice. That is what Barack H. Obama symbolizes today. In his unfailing offers of a handshake and a listening ear, Obama has signaled that America is one among equals, not the bully on the block.

It’s a good day!

Former President Bill Clinton is heading to California to fully endorse San Francisco’s Mayor Gavin

Former President Bill Clinton is heading to California to fully endorse San Francisco’s Mayor Gavin Newsom for the Governorship of California. If you think Barack Obama is clueless on how to run a government, you better watch your peas and cues and point your radar screen to the meteoric rise of Gavin Newsom in Liberal Socialist circles.

Though his tenor as Mayor is stunted with unhappy Democrats who point to his ever self-aggrandizement as opposed to getting down to the business of running a city government, the man is going to make a bid to be California’s next head honcho. To top a short list of San Fransico’s main problems under Newsom, Homelessness remains a most serious issue; the city’s official tally shows that more than 6,500 people lack permanent shelter, a slight rise over the last four years. Portions of Market Street, the city’s grand boulevard, reek of urine and other such things. Muni, the city’s public transit system, is a constant source of complaint. At Bayview-Hunter’s Point, the historically poor, black neighborhood, appears as isolated and desperate as ever. Affordable housing is, for many in San Fransico, an oxymoron.

Yet, Mayor Gavin Newsom is the new white Obama, being groomed to replace current California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the next election. Then he may be spruced up for the future prime show, a run at the U.S. Presidency. And, according to Dan Schnur, director of USC’s Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics, the Clinton endorsement is a huge lift to Newsom’s ambitions, “Normally this is the type of endorsement you want to save closer to the primary, but Newsom has needed to do something dramatic to let people know he intends to seriously contest this nomination,” Schnur said. “There’s no better way to send that signal than this.”

Is he a way over the top Liberal Socialist, like President Obama? You can rest assured that he is even more over the top than most think or even know. This guy dreams socialism and government control of everything. After only 36 days as mayor, Newsom gained worldwide attention when he granted marriage licenses to same-sex couples. This bold move set the tone for Newsom’s first term. Under his energetic leadership, the economy did grow some and a few jobs were gained. But, he was far more interested in the city becoming a center for biotech and clean technology. He initiated a plan to bring universal health care to all of the city’s uninsured residents. And Newsom aggressively pursued local solutions to global climate change. It seems that Newsom is a big fan of Al Gore and Global Warming and Newsom sees the political leverage to be used and gained following this lead.

However, despite his big dreams, there is a sense that Newsom, while promoting exotic notions like Gay marriages, and harnessing wave power beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, he has neglected day-to-day management of the city: the sort of pothole-filling, street-sweeping duties that draw little publicity but are vital to a city’s smooth function and sustainability. It seems, like his hero, Obama, Newsom gets an idea, but he neglects the details that really need his attention. However, like some well known celebrities, Newsom over-stepped his bounds sexually, and in 2007 had to owned up to an affair with the wife of his reelection campaign chief; the woman was also working for Newsom at the time.

Newsom’s campaign manager vacated his position left with the knowledge that his wife had freely been acting the love toy for his boss, the Mayor of San Francisco. The cities first couple, the Newsom’s later divorced —still the Liberals Socialists quickly forgave him, just like they forgave ol Bill Clinton and his cigar antics. Together on the same stage, it will seem like old times for the likes of an impeached former head of state to give his political endorsement, despite the sexual betrayal. Can we just hear ol Bill up on stage, with his arm around Newsom, “We’re just two peas in a pod, you and me. Don’t you worry any, boy, we’ll get you elected.” Liberal Socialists just can’t understand the old ethical rule of business: “You don’t screw the help.”

Even though Bill Clinton is giving his political endorsement today, he is going to expect something in the future for it. Newsom is now in the tank for Obama, but rest assured ol Bill will want some Political cred coming Hillary’s way in the future. Clearly, Bill is hoping here to side swipe the Obama political machine down the road.

Never one to shy away from controversial policies, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom has announced he wants to fine the states grocery and convenience stores that sell sodas and other sugary drinks. Restaurants that sell such drinks would be exempt from the tax. How he plans to fine some and not others is beyond normal reason. I guess he must think restaurants serve up better sodas than the grocery and convenience stores. And Newsom is just bidding his time before he can go against the farm lobbies and their subsidies for sugar and corn. No soda for you! Just like the tobacco companies in the Nineties, the lawyers will be taking all things high corn fructose to court and Newsom will be laying big time fines to fill his government coffers to pay for his socialist schemes.

And schemes are just what they are. Nothing really planned out, just an agenda with no means behind it, other than a pretty face and a lot of ambition. If you love him in San Francisco, just wait until he comes to your neighborhood.

I’ve said this before, and frankly I’m going to say it again. The human brain wasn’t evolutionarily meant to contain so much information. You know I’m right, or we wouldn’t get so dizzy when we get overloaded with facts and don’t miss this advertisements.

We went into town today to grocery shop. This is never a fun thing, and blissfully, the Contrarian and I go our separate ways once in the behemoth known as the modern super store. He heads off for dog and cat food and other manly foods like popcorn, coffee, and bread–the staples of the couch man, while I tend to the sour cream, lettuce, and bananas–read, all the other stuff.

On the way there, I am treated to the usual complaining. “Oh no, you can’t be serious!” he shouts. “What?” I manage to get out just before he tells me….”he’s making a LEFT turn, in all THIS traffic?” If you didn’t know, the Contrarian expects all other citizens to stay home when he chooses to shop. He is a busy man you know, and can’t be bothered waiting on left turning morons.

I ponder the sign in one store window, “The coldest beer in town.” Now, I know that might mean something, but if it’s in a functional refrigerator, is anybody likely to know any difference between a couple of degrees?

My eyes glaze over as usual, as I contemplate all those billboards, bumper stickers, lawn signs. Where once they used to simply sit there in their xeroxed splendor, more and more they beep, blink and change whole pictures before my eyes. I still fight to maintain my autonomy, not allowing these intrusions to overtake my carefully nurtured brain cells.

Yesterday, at least I think it was, I was invited to visit the cockpit with “Capt’n Sully” of Miracle on the Hudson fame. Why exactly would I want to? They assure me I will love it, but I’m not sure. I try to avoid it, but it seems every “news” outlet feels the need to expound on the return of the hero to the control closet that is a cockpit.

I learned that Glenn Beck uses VapoRub around his eyes to help him tear up at the right moments on his TV show. If you thought this would change my mind about Beck, you would be wrong. I’m smart enough to know he’s a pea brain and that such as it is, it’s firmly embedded in serious psychological distress. I don’t need no VapoRub to be the final piece of evidence. And to the brain dead who love him, this won’t make any difference anyway. They are did I fail to say it already? BRAINDEAD.

It seems David Letterman is a lusty sex machine, or at least was some years ago. Is this something I care about? Mmmmm, nope, can’t say that I do. But the media was all about telling me all the sordid details, if they were sordid, and I don’t know that they were, but isn’t that the foundational question for all sex stories to air? “What is the sordidity level,??” screams the producer.

It may surprise you, but I didn’t care anything about Jon & Kate plus 8, before they became Kate plus 8. I still don’t. Why would anyone think I would care about some strange couples marital ups and downs? And what would be enlightening about watching them care for a litter of kids? If you can explain, perhaps I’ll reconsider, but naw, probably not.

The world or parts of it, seem all in a tizzy about whether Roman Polanski should be awarded a medal or jailed for having sex thirty years ago with a 13 year old. I don’t pretend to know what to do, but I think it would be more the province of the state of California and the people involved than me. The fact that the he the nasty with a kid is enough to know I don’t need my brain bothered by a person of that caliber. I have struck him from the 2010 dinner invitation list for the Peyton household.

Which is not to say that there isn’t stuff I am enjoying learning. Or at least finding useful. Mostly I find that those right wingers who with mock indignation continue to assert that they aren’t racists vis a vis Obama, need to realize that their ACTIONS tend to say the opposite. When you link me to parodies of the President put out by Beck, when you still wanna prove that Obama is a stupid man and that Ayres wrote his books, and when you applaud because Chicago lost the Olympic bid, all because it reflects badly on Obama, you are making it very clear that you are indeed a racist. Ya see, most racists don’t see themselves as such, that’s why so many white folks lose their jobs for saying crap they “didn’t mean anything bad by.” It has to do with how much time you might have spent with minorities, duh. Then you would get it and know that indeed, you are freakin’ racists who are conveniently covering it up with pseudo-serious objections to non-issues.

One of the funnier things I heard this week was about Newt (the toot) Gingrich. Newt belongs to some group of ain’t we holier than thou, which took to honoring small businesses. Then they did, and now they have to retract an award, cuz the winner turned out to be a topless bar, and Newt is all churched up now, and can’t have none of that. It’s fun to watch people remaking themselves before our eyes ain’t it? The tough requirements of appearing pious to run for president raise their ugly head once more.

Well, enough of this drivel. You notice I provide no links for any of this. You don’t need to waste your time. I did it for ya.

Today, that is a strange word, because the folks who claim that mantel are decidedly different from

Today, that is a strange word, because the folks who claim that mantel are decidedly different from anyone claiming to be a Democrat from the past. However, it needs to be noted these people who claim today to be Democrats are not to be associated with Democrats of the Roosevelt or even Truman eras. Though they hail John Kennedy, they separate themselves from his concept of politics and American individualism. They guard their distance from Johnson’s Great Society, and just plain ignore Jimmy Carter, unless his brainless tongue accidentally steps into something they can politically use.

Interestingly, they distance themselves from Bill Clinton, though a relative few inside the party stubbornly hold onto their Clintonian beliefs. Yet, the Clinton Democrats are fading more and more into the background. Their relevancy is sinking fast in turbulent political seas. Mrs. Clinton also seems to be unable to right that sinking ship as well. Her employment as Secretary of State has not been the political Ferrari her supporters imagined. Instead, it has rather turned into an old Volkswagen with no headlights.

The so called Blue Dog Democrats are not so Blue anymore, many changing their stripes to fit any certain roll call vote they can opt into for sectional monetary gain. Good old fashion greed is now the official calling card for anyone claiming to be a Blue Dog Democrat. He is nothing but a big bad wolf in sheep clothing. They claim fiscal responsibility just to fool the independents and moderate conservatives into voting for them. Once on the voting floor, the public responsibility and accountability fails them and they greedily sell or trade their vote to the highest bidder. They are worse than an old Roman Senator offering their wife or daughter to the Emperor for favors.

Today’s Democrat rings a lot like the Officer back in Vietnam who said: “We had to destroy the village in order to save it”. Whatever America stands for, the new Socialist believes America must be changed. This form of Socialism is not out to teach or enlighten, but only to indoctrinate the masses towards something uncommon, deficient, and corrupt. Just try to question their practices and ideologies, and they look upon you as if you were dirt, like some lowly ignorant unwashed stupid peasant incapable of any cognitive thought, or they simply call you a racist.

Let’s refer to them as they should be; Socialists, or Extreme Socialists. Unfortunately, there is nothing Democratic about these Socialists. They hate everything American, especially Democracy itself, and the inspiration of our country being a Republic. They loathe our founding principles and religious morals, our history and traditions, and even our heroes, real or mythical. They are repulsed by its concepts of family, and they despise even more our wonderful country’s historical concept of rugged individualism, belief in God, and our long held can-do-spirit.

These Socialists want to control everything, to micro-manage every detail inside government at every level and inside everyone’s daily life right down to where and how you live and to what you eat. A few of these Socialist Czars even want to control how you might breed and how many will live to see the light of day. They want to tax everything and everyone, several times over. You may want to give care to how many beans you eat, as they will want to tax your flatulence.

Get Pregnant and you’ll pay a tax. And you will most likely have to pay another tax for the birthing as well. That is, if the Socialist Czars allow it to go full term that is. Remember, if they get their way, these Democrats want to fix the amount of children allowed to the American family to only two. And they claim its a good idea for babies born to unwed mothers be confiscated by the government. Of course, you would also have to pay the tax here. And if the unwed mother or her family can’t pay the government insurance, they will have to pay a stiff $1,000 fine and maybe even spend some jail time (Debtor’s prison again?).

Food will be taxed and over-taxed. Farmers run off their land to create government run Government owned Wind Farms (Does the San Joaquin valley water controversy ring a bell here? It should.). American Industry will find itself hog-tied every way imaginable with the new cap and trade penalties and after Industry is fully taken over by our new Socialist Government, Americans will have only one employer, the government itself. Then truly, everything we will buy and use will be imported and government approved. That is, if we can afford the coming higher prices due to lack of competition, and extra sales taxes per purchase to support Government run health insurance, big government owned companies and their constant need for bail outs, and government subsidized Union wage scales for the employees of these failed government controlled corporations. Retirees will only be shunted aside and left to their own devices with a government wishing they would die sooner…..

Our school children are already being indoctrinated against capitalism and taught to praise their new masters in song and art. They are not taught about the founding fathers and the risks they took to give them the freedoms they now enjoy. No, instead they are given Hollywood Movies from lazy teachers to explain a strange slanted alternate history and taught by REA Union leftists that America is what is wrong with the entire world. Socialist Grants are being issued to our schools to teach our children Mandarin Chinese and Chinese Culture, abortion, Heterosexuality, atheism, and World Universalism, rather than English, Ethics, Civics, or factual American History. Even our High School Science departments lack credibility because they teach our kids ‘Global warming America is to blame Junk Science’ rather than old fashioned real investigative factual science.

So, what is a good Conservative or concerned Independent to do about all this. How do you fight back against such arrogance and condescending elitism? You go to Tea Parties! Show your indignation at your local city council meetings, and attend your local school board meetings. Join the PTA if you have too and start finding the folks that think and feel the same way as you do. Join the effort at the grass roots and take your country back! Show your distrust of the socialism and grill the curriculum! Stand your ground and be heard! But, please make a stand for something!

If you do not. If you just stay glued to your chair or couch, they will take your country from you and change it forever. You can write opinions pieces and send them to the Editor of your local newspaper or to another newspaper in a larger city. Call into your local radio shows when ever possible and let you opinion count. And get out to vote!

But you need to do something. The Socialists are already here and in power and moving quickly to change your America. You need to act now. Doing nothing is not the answer.

John Podesta – He heads the Center for American Progress handpicked by George Soros. He also co-chaired Barack Obama’s transition team. ACORN bestowed an award upon Mr. Podesta during a time when he mounted a public defense of ACORN.

Kathleen Kennedy – Serves on board of radical American Center for Progress which is George Soros’s group and headed by John Podesta. She is also founder of the Student’s Service Alliance which was created to make Maryland the first and only state which forces high school students to do community service work as a precondition to graduating. In 1996 she also gave out an award to Baltimore’s current top prosecutor, Patricia Coats Jessamy who wanted to prosecute the 2 young adults who performed the undercover video sting of ACORN which uncovered its support for illegal activity such as how to fill out the forms to get money to help set up a house of prostitution using underage women.

Andy Stern – President of SEUI sometimes described as a unionized version of ACORN. Two of SEIU’s local unions are ACORN affiliates. After the recent findings about ACORN activities Barack Obama claims he has not been closely watching the events and doesn’t really know what’s going on. Stern told the L.A. Times that he visits the White House about once a week. On the subject of health care, Barack Obama said “Before debating health care, I talk to Andy Stern and SEIU members.”

Henry Cisneros – Ex HUD chief serving under president Clinton, pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI during background checks before his confirmation. ACORN confirms they met with Cisneros on a monthly basis while Cisneros was leading HUD.

John Banks – He is Vice President of Government Relations at Con Ed which is a large funder of ACORN.

Eric Eve – Senior V.P. At Citi Group.

Harvey Hirschfeld – President of LawCash which provides loans for those filing lawsuit. ACORN refers clients to this firm in Brooklyn, New York.

Dave Beckworth – Heads NeedMor Fund which”works with others to bring about social justice”. Provides money to ACORN affiliates.

Beck Now Attacking Individual Board Members of ACORN

The lines above were used as the title for a uTube posting about one of Glenn Beck’s reports about ACORN.

Whenever someone posts solid, fact-based reporting such as Beck’s and attacks the reporter by labeling them as “High Priests of Hate” it only serves to illustrate how shallow, unthinking and intellectually lazy they are and boils down to school yard name calling. In effect, it shows they have nothing to offer for debate.

While they feel like they have reason for baseless name calling it shows they fail to grasp the big picture, unable to think deeper.

Let me lay it out for those who don’t have the intellect to “get it”.

These are facts about certain community and labor based organizations and its leadership as it relates to the President. It serves all of us in helping us understand how these organizations may have influenced the outcome of the last election through years perhaps decades of preparation through community organization campaigns which serve to shape the thinking required to support a presidential candidate who shares or advances the same thinking fomented by these organizations.

Looking at the bigger picture here, a few questions arise. One might be, “Why is Glenn Beck the only one who appears to be reporting this? Does he hate someone?” Another might be “Why now and what difference does it make?”

Here’s a few more… “Can any reporter report on facts without name calling? What are you so afraid of…. truth?”

Here’s another… “Why aren’t the other media outlets like CNN, ABC, MSNBC, NYTimes, Boston Globe, et. al also reporting on this?”

That last question might be the biggest part of Glenn Becks story. It should be a question you might want to be asking.

Be glad we have fact-based reporting such as Glenn Beck’s. At the end of the day, you can use your brain and decide whether it is relevant to the day or not.

One last and perhaps the biggest question of all. “Has the election process been taken away from individual voters by ultra-rich financiers who are able to create a multi-tiered organization designed to shape and influence attitudes necessary to elect a socialist-minded president so that the country moves away from the fundamental principles upon which she was founded?”

If you weren’t able to form that question on your own you can always change the channel and feed off the pablum the others offer up.

“If you misrepresent what’s in this plan, we will call you out,” President Obama warned in his health care address to Congress earlier this month.

Then let’s do it; let’s start “calling out”.

President Obama’s claim:Health care reform will not require anyone to drop their current coverage

Called out:An independent analysis by the Lewin Group shows that as many as 114 million Americans could lose their current coverage and instead end up on a government-run plan under House Democrats’ proposal (H.R. 3200.) Even the most conservative estimates say millions could be shifted to a government-run plan.

President Obama’s claim:He pledges that reform will not add to the deficit, not even a little

Called out: According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, the House Democrats’ plan would increase the deficit by $239 billion over 10 years,

President Obama’s claim: President insists that middle-class families won’t see a tax increase – as he did repeatedly during his recent appearance on ABC’s This Week

Called out: On page 167 of H.R. 3200, the title of section 401 reads: “TAX ON INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT ACCEPTABLE HEALTH CARE COVERAGE.” The Associated Press didn’t mince words when it began a fact check piece, “Memo to President Obama: it’s a tax.”

President Obama’s claim: He pledges to protect seniors’ Medicare benefits

Called out: According to the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation, House Democrats’ plan cuts Medicare Advantage programs by more than $172 billion.
As a result, six million seniors will be denied access to an affordable Medicare Advantage (MA) plan, including three million who will lose the plan they currently have, according to an analysis completed by Republicans on the House Ways & Means Committee. And that’s just the beginning. The House Democrats’ bill includes a total of more than $500 billion in Medicare cuts, meaning reduced benefits and fewer choices for seniors.

President Obama’s claim:President pledged to Congress that “no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions”

Called out: Following a meeting at the White House with pro-life activists, the Administration would not commit to inserting a provision that explicitly excludes abortion from health care reform.

President Obama’s claim:President assured law-abiding taxpayers that illegal immigrants should not and will not be covered under the Democrats’ health care plan.

Called out: The non-partisan Congressional Research Service has confirmed, however, that there is no mechanism included in the House bill to verify that individuals are U.S. citizens or legal immigrants before they receive government benefits.

House Republicans offered two amendments in the committee process to correct this: the first would have prevented illegal immigrants from being automatically enrolled into Medicaid and the second would have required better screening for applicants for federally-subsidized health care to ensure they are actually citizens or legal immigrants. Both were rejected by Democrats.

These are just a couple of the many ideas House Republicans have offered to improve Americans’ health care. For instance, why not allow small employers to group together through national associations so they can buy health insurance for their employees like big companies and unions can today? Why not allow the American people to buy health care plans across state lines? Why not get serious about ending junk lawsuits and more importantly the costly defensive medicine that doctors are forced to practice?

The proposals were outlined in a letter to the President back in May. Republican members of congress asked him to meet and discuss them. The response given essentially said ‘Thanks, but no thanks.’

President Obama’s open door policy is strange. For his part, the President has talked about a “whole series of Republican ideas” being included in health care reform. This is just another myth perpetuated by the President, whose rhetoric simply doesn’t match the reality of congressional Democrats’ government-run health care proposals.

The American people deserve to know the unvarnished truth about the potential consequences of this costly government takeover of their health care. The President’s failure to meet this common-sense standard is yet another indication it’s time to hit the reset button and start over in a bipartisan way to achieve health care reforms hard-working Americans can support and afford.

Remember the 1960’s, the decade of free love with juicy girls ready to wrap their arms around anyone

Remember the 1960’s, the decade of free love with juicy girls ready to wrap their arms around anyone? It came with a huge drawback though, a counter-culture that flipped the bird towards the old fuddy-duddy establishment. It did not matter is that old establishment stood on moral ground. Anyone not within the counter-culture was deemed ‘square’ or out of touch with what was ‘happin’in’. Many had been seduced away from their good principles to a new ‘common liberalism’ that cried out to us to save the whales, feed the hungry, house the poor, and protest against American Imperialism. We were told Johnson’s Great Society was going to take care of everyone. Much later, many realized they had been duped, lied too, ignored. Many realized that free love and peace to the world were just empty platitudes once you left college as they do the hiring and platitudes did not pay the bills or put food on the table. Like any generation the young folks got married and soon had kids to feed and a mortgage to pay.
Well, most of that counter-culture grew up, re-joining the modern establishment and capitalist society. Some joined to make money, others joined admitting the best way to change the establishment was to work on the inside, but they were soon themselves seduced by increasing employment options, modern technologies, and all those wonderful material things they went without during their college days, like PC’s, cell phones, iPods, Tahoes, and gorgeous pickups.
However, a few counter-culturists remained dedicated to undermining the normal social order. In the beginning, their numbers were so small they seemed inconsequential, now they permeate our universities as professors and our high schools as teachers to our children.

For the last 50 to 60 years, they have slowly crept into our American Educational System, and societal norm, quietly using all the wonderous tools provided by humble taxpayers for the teaching their children to advance their hideous agenda: Human Rights, Universalism, Cultural Relativism, Homosexuality, lesbianism, Atheism, Women’s Rights, Black Power, Global Warming, Anti-Americanism, Marxist Elitism and pure Socialism. They were rather an irate bunch, a tireless minority who constantly nitpicked and whined, keen on bushwhacking the idea of traditional principles in the minds of freedom loving Americans. Now, to their great joy, they are in Congress and control the White House. However, these NEA Teachers do not teach —they indoctrinate, they manipulate, and they object to anything approaching an opposing view. In addition, they are anti-American to the core.
America let its guard down. While the extreme left Democrats were able to take joy in the election of Jimmy Carter, the Democratic Party itself was not so pro-left. It still maintained a centrist core. But, that core was weakening under the Carter Administration. President Reagan worked hard against the Liberal Left, and he also warned us. But, Americans let their guard down again and elected the great Don Juan as President, The Democrat Centrist Champion, Bill Clinton. From that point, the counter-culture Liberal Universalists never looked back. Billy Beer was joked about from shore to shore under Carter, but no one was laughing when Clinton’s far left liberal Homosexual Policy for the Armed Forces took center stage. And Mrs. Clinton’s efforts at national Health Care fell on its far left Universalist face. With the Clinton’s, nothing was sacred, not even their marriage —life was just a big party and free for all and the Universalists howled with glee even with the slight loss of a few political points. Far Left Clinton had come close, dangerously close to succeeding. Despite the setback, the Universalist far left Liberals then got busy planning for day of their eventual takeover as they perceived it. They slowly began to work more deeply into the Democratic party, controlling many facets of its agencies. They started to return to their grassroots and enlisted the poor, the under-educated, and lower middle class to their cause. But, they really went after the main stream union organizations supporting the Democratic Party.
The Bush years were just a glitch to the extreme Liberal Universalists. Oh, they hated George Bush and they hated him even more for two terms as President, but ol’ George was soon spending money as fast as the printing press could hammer out the dollar bills. The money spigot was turned wide open, and he never really took a serious look at the economy until things started to go wrong. Like the Leninist Bolsheviks of the past waiting for the October revolution to end so they could come in the back door to firmly take power, the Far Left Liberal Universalists perked up and saw their opening during the last nine months of Bush’s Presidency. America was tired and angry, wondering what in the hell was happening…..
Once the economy went south and the Capitalists screamed bloody murder, begging for government help —the Liberal Universalists went into an overdrive orgasm. The economy had failed! Capitalism had failed! The big Banks had failed! GM had failed! Chrysler had failed! America had failed! With a Presidential Election around the corner, it was everything an extreme Liberal Universalist or Socialist could dream or hope for…..and it was in the wings ready to pounce onto the American political scene. So they got themselves a candidate and promised a better world for everyone!
That is, as long as you pay their tax increases and follow their Czars to nirvana.

On ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos yesterday the President repeatedly insisted that requiring Americans to buy government-approved health care does not constitute a tax increase, yet that is exactly what it says in the 1,018-page House bill. What’s more, the idea that an individual mandate is a tax on working families has been confirmed in earlier writings by senior Obama Administration officials. All told, H.R. 3200 contains roughly $820 billion in tax increases, according to the nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation and the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.

Obama Used Faulty Anecdote in Speech to Congress

September 17, 2009

During a speech about his health care bill which he gave to a joint session of Congress last week, President Obama told the story of how an Illinois man getting chemotherapy was dropped from his insurance plan when his insurer discovered an unreported gallstone the patient hadn’t known about.

They delayed his treatment, and he died because of it.

the president said in the nationally televised address.

It was a point designed to illustrate the hazards of relying upon the private sector for your health insurance and how, under Obama’s plan, situations such as the hapless man’s will never happen.

Trouble is, it’s a lie.

The man, Otto S. Raddatz, did not die because the insurance company rescinded his coverage once he became ill, an act known as recission.
