It was 5 years ago this week that Sin in Linen was launched. In April 2004 at Barca Lounge in Seattle we threw a party to introduce our new project to friends, family and the community. Guests were treated to an enchanting evening of burlesque, pillow fights, vintage drinks and great music. There was a sense that something really exciting was emerging.
The room was outfitted with a vintage 4 post bed dressed in our maiden design “Joie de Viv” which set the stage for the Sin in Linen credo Try Something New in Bed!. Viv, as we affectionately call her, was inspired by classic pin-up art of the 1940’s. This glamorus allure was matched by the style of the enthusiastic ladies who performed for us that evening.

The room was graced with acts by Burlesque vixens Trixie Von Mothersbaugh, Goodie from The Atomic Bombshells, debut performance by Ivana Man and a knockout bed dance from the legendary Candy Whiplash. Seattle all-girl rock band The Hot Rollers set down their guitars and picked up down feathers with a mesmerizing pillow fight on the Sin in Linen bed. Party attendees were entranced by this vision of 5 beautiful strong rock and roll ladies dressed in flirty lingerie – giggling and prancing around on the Joie De Viv sheets.

Five years ago, we began with that first print and a dream. A dream to supply flirty soft goods designed for the home with hardcore style. Today we have over a dozen patterns to choose from and are proud to be fulfilling that dream. We look forward to delighting our customers with more products and styles that suit very individual tastes. And of course we hope to have many more years to Try Something New in Bed! On Friday night, after waking up from a nap, I headed over to Capital Hill to hang out with people I haven’t seen in months…..and I remembered why. No, I am kidding. Quincy and Caitlin were in town visiting from The Wire (Baltimore), which also means I got to see Kristin as well, which was super special. Why? The following couple of pictures should tell you.

Saturday Deborah celebrated her birthday. I met up with her and Colleen over in Bellevue to have some lunch at Manzana (very good) and to do some walking around the mall. I bought some jeans that were approximately 3 gajillion dollars. Yay for being broke.

Although I probably should have gotten something for Deborah. I still have yet to get her a present…Or evy…..or Andrea….. Boo for being lame with present giving!

So I drive at 2 a.m. to Joe’s place and find him walking up and down the street in front of his house talking about how there were so many sorority girls walking around.
Good times.

Yes, I know I have been behind on postings. I was reminded of this by many people this past weekend. Well it’s hard to post when you have to choose between posting and a nap. Lately I have been choosing naps. Sue me. The following are a couple of us sinning at Barca Lounge a couple of weekends ago. Enjoy.
