WASHINGTON (AP) — Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man in southeast Washington.

Police say the shooting occurred in the 1300 block of Stevens Road in the Barry Farm neighborhood about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Officers responded to the area to investigate reports of a shooting and found a man who had been shot in the head.

The victim, identified as Levern Butler of southeast, was pronounced dead at the scene.
