Hedgehog Airmail Greetings

I had been wanting to make an airmail themed card for a while. I started by creating the red, white and blue border that’s typical for an airmail envelope. You can’t tell from the photo but I actually cut a rectangle from cardstock and added diagonal stripes in the airmail colors to it. On the finished card, the white front panel covers most of the stripes and what’s left is the airmail pattern border. A postal stamp shaped cut-out done with the Cricut and Base Camp cartridge serves as a frame for the Penny Black hedgehog from the transparent stamp set “Bubbly”. I colored him with a combination of Prismacolor Pencils and Stampin’ Up markers. To add more interest to the image, I fussy cut and paper pieced the envelope and heart. The title is from the Stampin’ Up hostess set “Priority Mail”. I received it after I hosted my first Stampin’ Up workshop last December. I’m entering this card in the “For Family” challenge at Penny Black. I hope you like what you see and happy stamping!

Elephant Baptism Card

One of my friends is invited to a baptism and asked me to make a card for her to give to the little girl and her parents. She pretty much left the design part up to me but asked for the card to have red rather than pink elements. To personalize the card, I cut the girl’s initial with the Cricut and Base Camp cartridge and framed it using my Nestabilities. The cute elephant is a Memory Box stamp.

My First Bind It All Project: Mushroom Notebook

I bought the Bind It All a little while ago but didn’t get to play with it until now. To familiarize myself with the BIA, I decided to make this mini book. I decorated its cover with a felt mushroom that was designed and hand cut by me and added a title cut with the Cricut and Base Camp cartridge.

Felt Flower Mother's Day Card

As you already know, I love working with felt. For this Mother’s Day card, I designed the flower myself and cut it by hand (including the stem). I added a button -my first on a card- and used my Cricut for the title. Enjoy!

Felt Mushroom Anniversary Card

My husband and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary yesterday and this is the card I made for him. I drew and cut the mushrooms by hand, added some hand stitching and used my Cricut to cut out the title.

In return, my husband surprised me with these 4 sets of Penny Black clear stamps! Thanks for looking.

Stamp & Cuttlebug Folder Swap

My friend Kerstin and I decided to exchange some Penny Black stamps and Cuttlebug embossing folders. Here is a picture of what I received in the mail today. Thank you Kerstin! I can’t wait to turn these into cards:

Also, I wanted to show you the “hi” card I included in Kerstin’s package. The image of the hedgehog is a Penny Black stamp and both the title and frame are Cricut cut outs. “Hi” is from Base Camp and the frame from Accent Essentials. I stamped the snail twice, cut it out and mounted it using crafting foam. Thanks for looking.

Here’s a graduation card I made for my cousin. The monkey is from the Cricut Zooballoo cartridge and the year from Base Camp. The title is computer generated. Congratulations to all of this year’s grads!

Cricut Christmas Cards 2008 Part 2

I simply love the Cricut Christmas Cheer sleigh; the bottom part is so detailed! The little bear that’s riding the sleigh is from Doodlecharms.

In addition to die-cutting and cuttlebugging, I wanted to try some stamping. My wonderful sister-in-law gave me this very cute Penny Black stamp called “Lighting Up”. I colored it using Prismacolor Pencils and Mona Lisa Odorless Paint Thinner. As you might notice, this is not the whole stamp. I decided to cut out the hedgie and adhered it with mounting foam. The snowflakes and tree are from Christmas Cheer and the title is from Opposites Attract.

The hedgie is so cute I had to use it for more than just one card! I love how the white and blue cuttlebugged background makes the colors pop! For the frame I used George and Basic Shapes.

My last hedgie card (for now). The title “Joy” is from the Cricut cartridge Base Camp.

I bought Joys of the Season the other week and thought the gloves would look great on a Christmas card.

Cricut Christmas Calendar

Happy Thursday everyone! To kick off my blog, I would like to share my 2007 Christmas calendar project with you. For those of you who love Christmas just as much as I do and would like to give my calendar a try, here are the instructions along with a picture.

In order to make this calendar you need the following supplies:

Die Cuts with a View paper, ribbon, Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge, George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge, Base Camp Cricut cartridge, Christmas Cheer Cricut cartridge and the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder

Then follow the steps below:

cut out 25 pockets at 4″ (Doodlecharms)
emboss folded pockets with Cuttlebug snowflake folder
cut out 25 tags at 3 1/2″ (George) and attach ribbon to tags
cut out numbers 1 through 25 at 1″ (Base Camp)
cut out title plus shadow at 2″ (Christmas Cheer)
cut out embellishments:

Day 1: snowman at 2″ (Christmas Cheer)
Day 2: snowflake plus shadow at 2 1/2″ (Christmas Cheer)
Day 3: snowman (head) at 1 1/2″ (Christmas Cheer)
Day 4: snowglobe at 1 1/4″ (Doodlecharms)
Day 5: candy cane at 2″ (Christmas Cheer)
Day 6: Santa (head) at 1 1/4″ (Doodlecharms)
