When Jay-Z was out promoting his eleventh album, The Blueprint 3, there were many people in the hip hop world that wanted to know how the members of the old Roc were feeling about this. There had been rumors of Beanie Sigel being upset with Jay-Z over a number of things, because of that, everyone wanted to hear what he had to say.

Only one week after the album came out, Beanie Sigel spoke on everything that was Jay-Z and everything that was Roc-A-Fella Records. He said that he was very happy for Jay and that he had his own copy of The Blueprint 3. When asked about the quality of the album, Sigel said that he had only heard the intro, but he was sure that the album was better than American Gangster.

Throughout the interview, Beanie Sigel made it clear that he was not associated with Jay-Z. He was asked about a new album and he said that he wanted to begin working on one. When asked about people that he wanted to work with, he said Jay-Z. Also, Beans was asked about the other artists that were signed to the label. He said that he remained good friends with all of them.

At the time, the biggest news in hip hop was T-Pain dissing Jay-Z. Beanie Sigel described Pain going at Jay-Z as “ignorant.” There were plenty of artists that were dissing Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel took the time to defend Jay-Z from each one of them. But, only a month after all of that, there were rumors of Beans sending out disses to Jay-Z, himself.

It was later proved that he was actually dissing another rapper at the concert, but a few weeks later, Beanie Sigel sent the real thing out to Jay-Z. It has been since that time, he has had something to say about everything that his former boss does. When he first dissed Jay, he said that this is no excuse for other rappers to begin dissing him.

Despite saying that, he aligned himself with 50 Cent only days later. In the time since the first diss, Beanie Sigel will diss Jay-Z, then 50 Cent will diss Jay-Z. Almost on a daily basis, now, it can be expected to hear another Beans diss in the direction of Jay-Z. It has become a little bit redundant because he has said all of this many times before.

Other rappers have paid attention to this feud. Mase said that Beanie Sigel can diss Jay-Z all that he wants to, but he still will not win. According to Mase, he cannot take on Jay-Z until he gets a hit single to go along with that diss record. Also, Jim Jones has spoken on the feud; he said that Beanie Sigel is only dissing Jay-Z for attention until his new album comes out.

Whatever it is that he is doing, Beanie Sigel is looking dumber than Jim Jones trying to diss Jay-Z. It is obvious that Jay is not going to respond to him, Memphis Bleek has reached out to him to find a truce; Beanie Sigel needs to let this go. They were family for way too long to let a little disagreement ruin them.

Back in 2005, when 50 Cent was actively pursuing new artists for his G-Unit label, Beanie Sigel had plans of leaving Roc-A-Fella Records and moving over. This move was blocked by Jay-Z and actually serves as one of the reasons that Beanie Sigel is now at odds with Jay. Neither Beans nor Jay are currently signed to Roc-A-Fella.

Last month, Beanie Sigel made it clear that he and Jay-Z were no longer on the same side. Not long after this, he began dissing Jay-Z. It did not take long for Beanie Sigel to unite with 50 Cent. Since that time, he and 50 have been sending many disses to Jay-Z. While he is not signed to G-Unit, Beanie Sigel is definitely an associate of the label.

Once Beanie Sigel united with 50 Cent, it was assumed that he had signed with his label. That was when 50 came out to deny those rumors. He went on to mention that Sig had almost signed with the label in 2005. Now, Beanie Sigel has spoken on his relationship with 50 Cent, saying that it is much stronger than the one that he had shared with Jay-Z.

He went on to say that he is not signed to any record label. Beanie Sigel is a free agent, just the way that he wants to be. Saying that he is free to do whatever, Sigel is interested in signing with the label. Already, he maintains relationships with such G-Unit artists as Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks.

While he has not signed to the label yet, the near future may see Beanie Sigel sign to G-Unit Records.

It seems that almost everyone has given their opinion the feud between Beanie Sigel and Jay-Z. One person that has yet to speak on the situation is Jim Jones. For nearly five years, Jones has been feuding with Jay-Z. Because of his issues with Jay, Jones has been dissed by Beanie Sigel, but now those two are enemies.

Jim Jones said that Beanie Sigel is only dissing Jay-Z for attention. He said that the Philadelphia rapper has a right to be upset over whatever happened during his time there. At the same time, Jones said that Beans should have been smarter with his decisions while he was under Hov’s wing.

Given the way rappers tend to do now, Jim Jones said that he realizes the best way for a rapper to draw attention is to dig into another rapper. Right now, the top target is Jay-Z. In the past, Jim Jones has drawn attention by going in on Jay-Z. Jones said of all of the people to try and stir the pot with Jay, Beans would be the best, seeing how he was in the same camp with him.

Jones said that he feels that Sigel is upset because he feels that the Roc should still be together and that his Jay-Z disses are his way of venting.

Hov is the topic of choice basically, since Beans has no projects worth mentioning.

The recent feud between former associates has the hip hop world buzzing. A lot of people have spoken on the situation. Now, Mase has delivered his opinion on the feud. Not too many people know that Mase and Jay-Z briefly feuded from 1996 until 1997, but they ended on friendly terms.

Most other rappers speaking on the feud have said that it is a shame that two people as close as Beanie Sigel and Jay-Z were to be feuding. Others have said that Beanie Sigel has no right to go at Jay-Z like this because of what he did for Beans and because of his legacy. Despite Beans teaming with 50 Cent, Mase still said that there was no way that Sigel could win.

According to Mase, Beanie Sigel can send all of the disses that he wants to Jay-Z, nothing is going to happen. He said that because Jay is one of rap’s biggest stars, right now. He has the support of urban radio and of such networks as BET and MTV. Mase said that until Beanie Sigel is able to get a hit single, he is going to lose to Jay no matter how hard-hitting his disses were.

What Mase said makes a lot of sense and was probably something that a lot of other people were already thinking. Honestly, without a popular single on the radio, Beanie Sigel is going to fizzle away and no one is going to listen to what he has to say. As of right now, Beans is just another unhappy and unproven rapper, along the lines of Peedi Crack.

BEANIE SIGEL

Though it might seem like a tired concept, shots fired (in lyrical, not literal, form) are crucial to keeping hip-hop fresh. Ranging from tragic (i.e. Biggie “versus” Tupac) to comedic (Soulja Boy vs. Ice T), rap beef can be integral to the art form if it’s restricted to punch lines and dis tracks. Your favourite rapper has probably been mired in it at least once, if not multiple times, and some of hip-hop’s most scathingly sick moments have been recorded as a result of healthy competition.

The latest, most high profile, rap beef is between Jay-Z and one-time affiliate Beanie Sigel. It wouldn’t be wrong to be unfazed by this: Jigga’s had all varieties of beef, from McDonald’s chuck to certified Kobe (his greatest rivalry was arguably with Nas who pionereed the term “Ether” in reference to Jigga, and was the muse behind the ultra-dope “Takeover”). But many rap fans have matured alongside Jay and so the seemingly unnecessary, 50 Cent-endorsed (yup, what we have here is a grown man schoolyard fight) brouhaha caused by Beans just seems like we’re a babysitter keeping tabs while our insanely hot boyfriend is over. (Eye roll, gum snap).

50 Cent quand même tu connais ? Oui oui, ses clips bling bling, son film “Get Rich Or Die Tryin”, ses beefs avec The Game, Rick Ross ou plus récemment Jay-Z, le G-Unit, le rap new yorkais quoi. Bon, il a sorti “Before I Self Destruct” (BISD pour les intimes), son 4ème album, et les chiffres viennent de tomber, il a vendu 150 000 opus en première semaine. Moyen, très moyen. Il a donné un concert gratuit lundi soir à New York…parce que faut l’dire, notre rappeur est en manque de vitesse et il doit bien redonner aux fans un peu de substance pour qu’ils reprennent confiance en lui…  Tu penses bien que si j’en parle, c’est que j’y suis allée. Non pas que j’aime spécialement ce qu’il fait mais voilà, ça reste un géant du rap, je ne l’avais jamais vu sur scène, et surtout, c’était gratuit. Et le gratuit à New York, on AIME ! Je me suis donc tapée un petit concert de “musique hip hop” (comme dirait ma maman) pour commencer la semaine. 50 + 0$ + New York = ghetto assuré ! Ahaha !

Au lendemain de sa prestation à L.A pour les “Americain Music Awards” et à la veille de son départ pour Paris, 50 aka The Travelin’ Man a donné un concert MySpace à guichet fermé (puisque gratuit) dans sa hometown, New York City. Mais crois pas que c’était easy ! A 20h30, le Meat Packing District avait des allures de ghetto du Queens. Bizarrement, tout le monde était habillé pareil dans la file d’attente. Hoodie, capuche sur la tête, et Tim ou Nike (prononcer [Naïki] pour faire cainri) boots aux pieds pour les messieurs. Les meufs, fidèles à elles-même ont trouvé de bon goût de mettre leurs tenues de stars du X en déficit, avec une coupe à 500 E et des bottes à 1000 E. C’était pas joli joli. Et puis c’était la guerre pour arriver jusqu’à la porte d’entrée ! Limite, te faire fouiller par une femme mi-homme mi-autre-chose à la fin de cette attente avait des allures de bonheur. Bref, tu l’auras compris, fallait être motivé pour voir 50 aux pectoraux d’acier sur scène. Je l’étais pas tellement, mais je ne rentrerai pas dans les détails. Une fois à l’intérieur, je file à l’étage, table, resto et espace vital. Et je pousse le bouchon en m’offrant une mousse au chocolat blanc et couli de framboise. J’t’avoue que j’étais étonnée de voir un dessert appétissant sur une carte à NYC. Généralement au mieux t’as un cheesecake, sinon c’est du gâteau à la crème immonde avec 5 couches de génoise sans goût. J’aime trop la bouffe sucrée pour tolérer ça donc je n’prends plus de dessert depuis que je vis ici. Mais là, qui l’eût cru, c’était bon !

Monsieur le DJ d’Hot 97 nous ambiançait pendant l’attente et la salle se remplissait au compte goutte. Pas étonnant, vu le temps de la fouille pour chaque personne. A 22h, le DJ nous crie “If you’re ready for 50 Cent make some noise right now”. Ok, on fait du bruit, on y croit. Puis non en fait, il part en dédicace “Rest in Peace”. Vu qu’y a pas mal de morts dans le hip hop, on n’a pas fini. Aller hop, ODB, Big Pun, 2Pac, Biggie, etc… Puis il fait un shout out à tous les boroughs de New York. Tu penses bien que la foule se donne à fond quand il cite le Queens. Enfin, il enchaîne avec un big up à tous ses « weed smokers » et ses « alcoholic ». J’adore les concerts hip hop, l’ambiance est tellement…saine ! Ah bah voilà, Whoo Kid prend les platines alors que la batterie de mon appareil photo me lâche. Damn it. Le truc m’a déjà fait le coup. Moi qui voulait prendre des tofs du torse de 50 pour les agrandir et m’en faire des posters. Raté… La star du G-Unit daigne finalement entrer sur scène, T-shirt blanc moulant, casquette NY, Timberland aux pieds. Le même look que ses fans quoi. Il commence avec « I Run New York ». J’me dis heureusement que Jay-Z est pas dans la salle. Il l’aurait pris perso. Tony Yayo et Lloyd Banks sont là aussi. Tout est réuni pour une parfaite soirée G-Unit bien ghetto. Mais c’était pas mal quand même, j’étais agréablement surprise, j’me suis même mise à bouger les pieds sur “Baby By Me” en fredonnant le refrain par cœur « Have a baby by me, baby, be a millionaire ». De la chanson de michto dans toute sa splendeur. J’comprends mieux maintenant le pourquoi des tenues des femelles autour de moi. Elles veulent être millionnaires et vont surement aller faire la queue près de sa loge ! D’ailleurs à côté de moi j’ai 2 drôles de phénomènes. A gauche, j’ai la meuf sur pilotis qui a décidé de mettre ses mains à sa taille et de bouger de droite à gauche pour irriter ses voisines avec ses coudes. Donc toutes les 2 secondes je me prends un frôlement de coude par billoute. Relou. Dans une salle où respirer n’est pas facile, elle, elle est tous coudes dehors à gigoter ! A droite, j’ai une groupie sautante. Elle filme. Mais elle saute en même temps. Et si mes calcules sont bons, filmer et sauter c’est pas une bonne idée. J’ai peur pour le résultat de sa vidéo Youtube. Mais comme disent les inconnus, cela ne nous regarde pas !

Après 15 minutes de concert et quelques hits interprétés en accéléré, 50 décide que son show sera un remake de “Piège en Eaux Troubles”. Il se met à balancer des litres d’eaux sur ses fans. Ça devait être relou pour eux parce qu’il faisait même pas chaud quoi. Et Yayo, Banks et les 15 autres jeunes qui sont sur scène le font aussi. J’ai pas compris, mais j’étais très contente d’être à l’étage… Puis, petit moment clé : « Where’s my nigga at? » demande 50. Il s’agit duquel selon toi ? De Beanie Sigel bien sur, la nouvelle recrue du G-Unit qui a bavé sur Jay-Z y a quelques semaines. Les ennemis de tes ennemis sont tes amis, hein 50 ? Un peu plus tard, il regarde dans la foule et lâche sur un ton ironique, « Tiens je vois des visages familiers ». Il parle des flics. Il les cherche du regard un peu après sans les trouver, et nous dit finalement de faire attention, “nous sommes observés par la hip hop police”. Wow… Ça c’était une minute digne d’un film. Puis il enchaîne avec des vieux morceaux,  “P.I.M.P” (Il troque sa casquette contre un chapeau de pimp), “This Is How We Do”, “Hate It Or Love It”, “Just A Lil Bit”, “Candy Shop”, “Magic Stick”. Putain il en a des hits l’enfoiré. A 23h, les mecs de MySpace montent sur scène sans gêne pour enlever les kakémonos. Ça sent la fin. Ah bah oui, c’est la fin. Un peu brutale quand même. Merci,  au revoir.

Depuis l’événement, Fifty a été déporté dans votre (mon) pays, donc c’est vous qui allez vous en taper une bonne couche. Ça vaut le coup de le voir sur scène si tu es en manque de vibe ghetto. J’attends des retours sur le show du 27 à Paris les copains. En attendant, révise ton refrain “Have a baby by me baby, be a millionaire, have a baby by me…” Cheers !
