This is another 3rd year project I was meant to be working on it turned out I had too much work on the 3 projects I was already on and so I couldn’t help out at that time, however, I approached the Director of the project again after my deadlines were out of the way as I really wanted to be involved. This is a very rough animation of what I had completed yesterday and I’m just neatening things up now.
Its also my first attempt on TVPaint!

I’ve been looking for a new iPhone case to replace my the (significantly) beat up one I’ve got now. Now, I take phone cases very seriously. My white iPhone 5 is gorgeous, and I hate to cover it up with something ugly, even if it is in the name of protection. That’s why I was super happy when I stumbled upon Society6′s selection of cases. I can’t vouch for the quality (never having seen them in person), but they sure are pretty. Here are my favorites: 1.2.3. 4.

JAMISON CITY, Pa. (AP) – Four central Pennsylvania residents say they rescued a young bear whose head had been stuck in a plastic jar for at least 11 days.

The Press Enterprise of Bloomsburg reported Saturday that the group managed the feat while armed only with a rope and flashlight.

“I thought, ‘No one is going to believe us,’” said Morgan Laskowski, 22, the bartender at the Jamison City Hotel and a member of the impromptu bear-wrangling team.

Area residents first spotted the 100-pound bruin with its head in a red jar on June 3, but it eluded game wardens. The animal was attracted to the container because it appeared to have once contained cooking oil.

“He put his head in, and had a problem,” said Mike Jurbala, 68, another rescuer. “He’d have died in a couple more days.”

Jurbala saw the bear Thursday night as he was leaving the bar at the Jamison City Hotel. He called Jeff Hubler, a local employee of the state Game Commission who had been among those trying to capture it for days with a lasso.

The two teamed up with Laskowski and her mother, bar owner Jody Boyle, to follow the bear through the darkness.

“You knew where he was because you could hear him banging into things,” Jurbala said.

They cornered the bear in a resident’s backyard, where it ended up falling into a pool a couple of times. Eventually, they wrangled the animal into a position where Hubler could pull off the jar.

“You’d think the bear would be weak, because it hadn’t eaten or drunk for a week, but it was strong,” Boyle said.

Hubler said people should keep lids on food jars that they throw away.

Bear’s Den Overlook

This week I was so stunned by the way the Lord used all of us. And I’m still incredibly blessed that one of my co-counselors led a boy to Christ on Wednesday. And on Thursday there were five girls that I got to lead to Christ. Not only that, but the questions the sixth graders asked.

They really do ask many more questions than I expected them to ask.

I am blessed by the Creator of the universe to do His work this week.

If y’all could pray for endurance, that would be incredible, as the enemy has surely been attacking us this week. And we have 8 more to go!

Very big thanks to Rain for a great shoot. I am happy with the results and glad to share this with you. Before i say more i would like to announce that i wont be bombarding my Page with tons of images anymore, im creating a site for that! But, when i do have something worth sharing ill do just that.

Rain came in on Thursday 13, she brought with her a few props to play around with including some hats, a few tops, shades and a golden knuckleduster. Which turned out to bring quite a different look and stile to the shoot, the words fun and sexy come to mind.

I also managed to get the wall in my living room to completely disappear which makes a huge difference although im not too sure how i feel about it… makes me think. I can picture her standing on a building with some city lights in the background or even her standing in the middle of a road in the city at night! This will probably turn into a new “series” for me as i start taking things out of the house and into the streets!

Thanks Rain! x

Today was one of THOSE days. I held it together by a thread until my husband got home, but shortly

Today was one of THOSE days. I held it together by a thread until my husband got home, but shortly thereafter as I was angrily putting my 2 year old into a time out I became acutely aware that I should NOT be disciplining in the state I was in. I snatched my keys off the counter, informed hubby that I needed to get out of there, and slammed the door behind me.

I stomped around our apartment complex until I found a quiet spot, where I sat down and sniffled and tried not to cry. It was just.one.of.those.days. When parenting and life and everything is just too much. ”Stop the merry-go-round, I want to get off.” And then I felt terrible guilt for losing it over tiny things when I know so many people who are facing big things, and felt guilty for abandoning Hubby with the crazy toddler when he had a stressful day too, and I began to feel like the worst person/mother/Christian ever and despaired that I could ever accomplish any of the things I care about if I can’t even handle days like today and…. Then I just cried.

After a while I saw an elderly lady come out of the house across the street and start to peacefully water her flowers. And *OH* the resentment that suddenly leapt into my heart. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to yell at her for having it so easy or just beg her to switch lives with me.

Ironically, the last time I remember losing it on one of THOSE days, I fled the house, strapped the toddler into the stroller, and went for a walk. As we walked, I saw an elderly couple rocking on their porch, peacefully reading their newspapers. I felt the same thing then: total jealously at the unfairness of them rocking there while I’d had the worst morning ever, and a longing to leap their garden gate, fall on my knees in front of them and beg “Oh please won’t you switch lives with me??

But, I realized as I walked by, for all I knew, they were wistfully looking at me and thinking the same thing. In all likelihood, that woman had once been just where I was and had her share of THOSE days. For all I know, she was watching me and wishing for the days when she was a young mom, when her kids were close, when loved ones hadn’t passed away, when she wasn’t dealing with health problems or social security stress or whatever. For all I know, my stroller-pushing walk in the middle of the day with my cute little man looked positively idyllic and gave her heart a pang of fond memories and longing.

To be honest, in general I’m really loving life right now. I have a LOT of days as a stay-at-home mom that feel idyllic to me. I love getting to witness all the little and monumental moments of Bear’s life, instead of wondering what the babysitter is seeing that I’m missing. I love the freedom in my schedule that lets me decide on a whim to hop off to the park with him, or call a friend for a play date, or lounge around the house with him doing nothing. I love that the effort and effects of my work directly impact my family, rather than some corporation or CEO I’ve never met. Most days, I’m incredibly thankful that I can stay at home and be mom all day.

There are, unfortunately, also parts of our lives right now that I do not like at all. I hate feeling like we are soooo far away from doing the ministry we want to be doing. And there are other things, and when I’m just thinking about them, it’s easy to want to just be done with this phase, or think “Everything will be better when ____,” and just wish the time away.

So, what’s the point? I don’t know exactly, but I do think it’s ironic that God seems to put the elderly in my path when I’m wanting out of my life. Maybe it’s just about perspective, and realizing that in every phase of life, “This too shall pass.” And that goes for both the good parts and bad parts.

Thankfully, I’d say the great days far outnumber THOSE days for me, but I do still have those days sometimes. So, I’m glad for a little perspective, and a little reminder not to get fixated on the overwhelming days and wish away all the parts about this phase of life that I love. And that will be a lesson worth remembering both now, and someday when I’m rocking on my porch watching other young moms pass by. Someday I’ll probably be there, too, and I hope I’ll have lots of fond memories, a few wistful pangs, and the confidence that I’ve lived fully in every phase of life and have earned both the relaxing rocking and the longing for past things – and the freedom to pursue more and more of my goals until God takes me home.

I finally wandered home tonight, got down on the floor, and (still teary-eyed) apologized to Bear for disciplining him while I was angry. He gave me a big grin, threw himself into my arms, and immediately began giggling and climbing all over me. Oh, the grace and energy and living-in-the-moment capacity of a little boy. Exhausting? Yes. Wonderful? Yes.

A snake slithers through the rough rocks quickly as a mountain goat jumps over a crack in the ground. A few pebbles dislodge as he lands making a small rumbling sound. A tree housing many chirping birds gets in the way of pebbles. A cloud overhead rains on the bright green foliage. A few raindrops hit a disgruntled squirrel in the face. The squirrel shakes his head and hides under a large leaf. A bear sits in a cave watching the rain storm pass him by. The bear growls at the thunder after being scared by the crash. The lightening following makes the bear’s hair stand on end. He curls up in a ball to warm himself up.

A black bear caused extreme damage to a Mazda 3 parked in the owner’s driveway in West Vancouver Thursday while repeatedly trying to break in to the vehicle.

The owner and police say there was no known food attractant inside the car and are baffled as to what prompted the animal’s actions.

Did anyone check to see if there were any stuffed animals on display in the back window?

Maybe the bear was hungry and/or angered by awful 2000s fads.

Father’s Day is coming up, so I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite Father’s Day quotes…

“Thank you for being interested. Doesn’t sound much but it meant just about everything.”
- Pam Brown

“I just owe almost everything to my father [and] it’s passionately interesting for me that the things that I learned in a small town, in a very modest home, are just the things that I believe have won the election.”
- Margaret Thatcher

“A new father quickly learns that his child invariably comes to the bathroom at precisely the times when he’s in there, as if he needed company. The only way for this father to be certain of bathroom privacy is to shave at the gas station.”
- Bill Cosby

“He didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.”
- Clarence Budington-Kelland

“Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children.”

Charles (Chuck) Swindoll

“A man ought to live so that everybody knows he is a Christian… and most of all, his family ought to know.”
DL Moody

“I do not like broccoli. And I haven’t liked it since I was a little kid and my mother made me eat it. And I’m President of the United States and I’m not going to eat any more broccoli.”
George H. W. Bush

“Fathers play a unique and important role in the lives of their children. As mentor, protector, and provider, a father fundamentally influences the shape and direction of his child’s character by giving love, care, discipline, and guidance. As we observe Father’s Day, our nation honors fatherhood and urges fathers to commit themselves selflessly to the success and well-being of their children. And we reaffirm the importance of fathers in the lives of their children. Raising a child requires significant time, effort, and sacrifice; and it is one of the most hopeful and fulfilling experiences a man can ever know. A father can derive great joy from seeing his child grow from infancy to adulthood. As a child matures into independence and self reliance, the value of a parent’s hard work, love, and commitment comes to fruition.

Responsible fatherhood is important to a healthy and civil society. Numerous studies confirm that children whose fathers are present and involved in their lives are more likely to develop into prosperous and healthy adults. Children learn by example; and they need their father’s presence as examples of virtue in their daily lives. A child’s sense of security can be greatly enhanced by seeing his parents in a loving and faithful marriage.”
George W. Bush

It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve made a blog post! For the past couple of days

It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve made a blog post! For the past couple of days we’ve been in the city of Český Krumlov, where the view is gorgeous and wifi is spotty.

Český Krumlov was the perfect place to get away, it was a lot like a vacation! I connected strongly to the city because it was much smaller than Prague. We didn’t have to take a tram or metro anywhere, in fact we could walk almost anywhere we wanted to in under 5 minutes. As a small town girl, this was definitely a feature of the city I loved.

It was still busy and bustling with tourists, but the atmosphere of Český Krumlov seemed much lighter than that of the fast-paced Prague. The service there seemed much nicer, too!

Despite the size of the town, there was a lot to see. Beautiful landscapes, a castle, and even a couple of bears! An interesting fact about Český Krumlov is that it’s one of the most well preserved Renaissance Towns in the world. Most of the buildings are from around the 15th century, and have been very well preserved. Besides all the people wandering around with cameras, it was like stepping back in time!

I’m glad we got the chance to go to Český Krumlov, especially since it was so relaxing. I think it renewed me enough to make it through these last 10 days without getting too tired. There’s still a lot to do and a lot to see back here in Prague!

Even the bears can relax in Český Krumlov!
