On the 5th November, I had a fantastic time shooting a boudoir/portrait shoot for the lovely Rachael., in Leeds.  It was a rainy day, but we didn’t let that stop us using the gorgeous trees and leaves as a setting for the shoot.  Rach brought along some brilliant probs and accessories, including the fabulous pink fur coat, wellies and a fur rug! (don’t think I have photographed these items in one shoot before!)

Rachael was an absolute star, and looks amazing in the images we captured. Here are a few of my favourites:

The long-awaited new Guinness spot from AMV BBDO, which – as might have been expected – is a mega-production.

I’m not sure how the kid will feel about having his parts plastered all over the internet, but here he is. Grandma can’t tell exactly which protuberance is the boy part, but I will take their word for it.

So if we didn’t have enough reasons to worry about climate change, here’s a purely aesthetic one. These shots of icebergs are a rare item, and we think they are absolutely stunning. Imagine a medium-sized cruise liner dwarfed at the front of the shot…

Then think about that sheer volume of ice sliding into the sea… It really is better for all of us if it stays solid, surely?

This performance, done by Pilobolus, was meant to explain the nature of a relationship. Named “Symbiosis”, the dance group showcased how everything in this world is not only related, but how they evolve together. Watch this breathtaking, weird and fascinating dance.

I really think I’m in love with this amazing place!!

Yesterday I went for a drive around Fribourg City, and walked around parts of the Old Town.
It really makes me realise how young Australia is as a country, and how I love nothing more than to be swept away by the history of a place!

First stop – the bank!
I wanted to practice my French, but gave up as soon as I walked in the door! So my cousin asked the girl if she knew English, which she did a little bit – so money changing = a success!
Pretty awsome conversion rate, and the money makes me giggle with how colourful it is!

I already had to spend some of it buying a power plug convertor – silly me took my American convertor with me instead of my European one. Most expensive buy in a while! Seriously, don’t Australian’s visit this stunning place enough? But it was worth it – 2 cameras, a phone and my straightener that all need converting!!

We drove along a road that made me think about all those half romantic dreams I’ve conjured up about the French country side. It wound down to a café/restaurant, and a bridge that goes over the Sarine River.

I really don’t know how I let myself be tortured like this!! Horrible views right!

The views were amazing – to only have to drive about 15 minutes from home to this, is truly special!
My French is also getting pretty good – I understood a sign well enough to know it said something along the lines that it was mandatory I get on this thing that goes above the stairs!

We then went to another bridge, from which you could see Fribourg in it’s breath taking entirety!
It was starting to get dark, so the lights were slowing coming on, and when we got to a Church that was covered in Mason symbols, we sat back and watched Fribourg come alive for the night!

This Masonic Church was tiny, but had some of the wierdest statues around it! Jesus was posing like a model in one – sassy!
We might go back when it’s open to go inside, and then I’ll take proper photos. I only had my small digital camera with me yesterday, so wouldn’t have been able to do much with the lighting, like I can with my SLR. But thank you Panasonic Lumix, you’re doing pretty well!!

We drove to the centre of the Old Town, and it took several “are you serious?!” questions for me to actually believe that yes, in fact, that was a Prison right in the middle of the Old Town.
Apparently it’s only for petty criminals that were caught shop lifting and the such, so I did manage to breathe a little easier.

A little further down from the prison, is a bridge and river that brought to life the story of the lady in white!
Basically the story is that some kids were playing along the river bank and their ball went into the water, the lady came out and went to give them the ball, as the childen began edging closer to the water their parents started screaming for them to stop getting closer to the water, at which point the lady dissapeared. Spooky!
… and so is this photo I took!

So that was my little adventure for the afternoon.

This place is no less than stunning, the history will continue to blow me away, the people are fascinating, the air is crisp and clear, the scenery breathtaking and life is amazing!

Suku Di Kenya Pretty Or Ugly

Tentu saja saya sangat suka melihat kehidupan suku tradisional. Suku Masai Samburu orang suku Turkana megah perhiasan dan pakaian berwarna-warni mengesankan ritual dan lagu-lagu indah. Mengalami ini untuk banyak salah satu alasan besar untuk datang ke Kenya.

Tapi mari kita jujur. Berapa banyak wisatawan yang menjunjung tinggi suku-suku di Kenya akan mampu hidup seperti itu sendiri Suku juga berarti kepercayaan sihir dan lebih baik menghindari disebut penyihir di Kenya Mutilasi genital perempuan dan Mengembalikan Jati Diri kebebasan individu kecil sebagai perjalanan seumur hidup Anda sudah ditetapkan pada saat lahir oleh suku bea cukai.

Selain budaya suku-suku memainkan peran utama dalam bisnis dan politik. Anggota suku amp membantu amp satu sama lain dan ini berlangsung dari untuk pilih kasih dalam pemerintahan dan menutupi satu sama lain kegiatan kriminal.

The Kikuyu mendominasi bisnis maupun politik. Kenyatta menggunakan reformasi tanah setelah de keberangkatan dari Inggris untuk membuat dirinya dan rekan-rekan anggota marga pemilik tanah terbesar di negeri ini. Kibaki terpilih pada tahun pada janji untuk mengakhiri selalu ada korupsi tapi begitu di kantor tidak hanya sedikit untuk melawannya. Sebaliknya ia mengadopsi anggota klan kikuyu sepanjang pemerintahannya. Orang-orang ini dikenal sebagai amp quot Gunung Kenya Maffia amp quot setelah daerah rumah kikuyu sekitar gunung ini.

Sementara beberapa orang di barat meromantiskan kehidupan suku asli melihat hal ini sebagai amp murni amp gaya hidup yang lebih sosial dan amp lebih dekat dengan alam amp saya pribadi senang bahwa aku bukan bagian dari itu dan saya yakin banyak Kenya akan manfaat dari bertahap roll-belakang sistem suku.

this is the view from my apartment on saturday morning. it was so gloomy and so beautiful at the same time.

There’s so much to explore behind the ritzy facade of movie-making Los Angeles. Some of the most satisfying spots to visit are the least-frequented by tourists.

There’s so much more than Rodeo Drive and the Sunset Strip to this vast city. Among these is the burgeoning art scene in Chinatown. Here, each Friday small clubs operate slightly under-the radar, serving drinks to a young, hip crowd that can’t be bothered to make it to the Westside. As the eastside has gotten cooler, the art scene has re-centered itself, allowing a distinct and legitimate encampment on Chinatown’s Chungking Road. Gallery openings are roughly every two weeks and offer the opportunity for public drinking – something you might expect at an art gallery, though not necessarily in LA. You may need to check the website for changes, but during the summer they are usually on a Thursday or Saturday.

Most people don’t even consider the wonderful hiking opportunities in LA. You can hike through lovely wildlife but see a view of a vast urban space at the top. A wonderful view of the city is available from Griffith Park, and the pay off is much higher if you simply park in the neighboring Los Feliz hills and climb to a peak, avoiding the delays, bother and polluting of following the line of cars to park at the observatory. Will Rogers State Park in Pacific Palisades and Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills both offer thoroughly enjoyable walks with splendid views. For more intriguing culinary fare, Los Angeles offers distinct ethnic food at quite low prices in less touristy areas. The Thai cuisine in East Hollywood is legendary, and competes for space only with the Middle Eastern food, centered there and in Westwood, which includes some of the best and most authentic Persian food in the world. Westwood is also home to excellent Lebanese food. Los Angeles’ Mexican food does not need to be spoken for, but for family type restaurants, mainly in the tradition of the Jalisco region, try East Los Angeles proper. There are many informal eateries throughout the city, but perhaps the best Mexican food can be found in Allegria, on Sunset Blvd. in the Silverlake region. The line is formidable, but well worth it.

The final aspect of less-seen Los Angeles is the beach. To stay away from the crowds, you must look for beaches where others simply don’t know about: Malibu. Though residents are hostile to tourists, California law guarantees public access to the 27 miles of beautiful coastline that are part of this wealthy and insular city. Signs saying “coastal access” highlight spots of entrance, which may look like nothing, but, after descending many stairs, you will generally come upon a beautiful and nearly abandoned beach. To find these beaches, simply drive up the coast highway past the Cross Creek mall, where you can stop for a coffee and likely see a celebrity, but persevere until it seems you must be part way to San Francisco. Until the signs say “Entering Camarillo,” you are still in Malibu and near discovering some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
