Because the world needs more stupid product names.

It turns out I’m not very original. For you see, I had this “brilliant” idea! A bed, with a built in computer! The head would come up from behind and have the screen inside it. The keyboard and mouse would be at your side.

Unfortunately and fortunately, it already exists.

The reason I think this is such a good idea is not exactly because it lets me be lazy. No, the reason is in the name of the… setup: Ergonomic Workstation. Yes, it’s very ergonomic, and I think it would be great, particularly for your back. Tons of people, including me, spend hours sitting at a desk, probably with chairs that really don’t do you any good. With a bed, you can lie down, which is proven to be good for your back.

The advantages in this design compared to many are plentiful. This one has better design and placement when it comes to the keyboard, mouse and screen, and a better lying position. I wonder where the main CPU is, though? I’d be interested to see one with a built-in CPU. If you were to go the whole distance, you could put USB ports and other stuff in the side (frame) of the bed. Now THAT would be cool.

Myself, Ryan, Lauren and Vawn went to a craft evening at The Deaf Cat cafe, where we had coffee and hot chocolate. We then to join a load of lovely friends at the pub. Its not often that there are so many people that I like to spend time with in one room! Here are a few photos:

We then walked home, and waited half an hour for food in the local kebab shop, which was horrible food, and which made me get out of bed to forcibly remove the food via regurgitation. Not pleasant… never again.

Today I had a session of Wet, on the Xbox, and I am over half way through now. I am also planning the restart of my driving lessons, which should be next week if possible! I cant actually wait to get my license… one less thing to worry about!

When I am very sick, lying on my bed, I feel like I am leaving my body. I do not feel my legs and my arms. I feel my chest and my head, however. They seem to be the anchors that keep me from levitating, flying, vanishing out of this body. Sometimes I close my eyes and I feel like I see things underneath, in between and beyond the darkness.

When this happens, I appear to travel at very fast speeds in worlds I cannot comprehend or describe. Everything changes its own shape extremely quickly. At some point, aggressive, repeating images keep coming back and I have to open my eyes and rid my mind of this madness.

When I am very sick, lying on my bed, I often feel like I am very skinny or very fat. When I dream, I experience violent and disturbing events. They become so disturbing that they wake me up.

Sometimes, when I think of these moments, I feel like something is desperately trying to use this feeble state of mine in order to do something to me. I have the feeling that some sort of entity, a being, is attempting to do me harm. I cannot explain it even to my own self, but it seems obvious in some way or another. There is something evil that is fueled with envy and hatred towards us.

It has occurred to me what Thanksgiving really needs to be the perfect holiday. While the holiday is a fantastic time for being thankful, the one thing I would be very thankful for is a morning after pill. Not just any morning after pill, but one that automatically makes you lose all the pounds you pack on during the holiday feasting. A bonus feature would be giving you the ability to clean the kitchen in two seconds flat after all that cooking. That would be my morning after Thanksgiving pill. While I did not go over board with the feast I prepared for my family and neighbors, I feel like I will have to do a week of hard running to keep my petite frame in check. We had a 10 pound goose, deviled eggs with tomatoes, cornbread stuffing with apples and pecans, goose gravy, white wine, and apple crumble that my neighbors were so nice to bring. The four kids ate, watched Peter Pan a million times, and went upstairs to have a plastic ball war (with all the plastic balls we have we should make a giant ball pit in the yard). Markus (my husband) and Markus (Angie’s husband) talked about airports while Angie and I talked about cooking and Christmas decorations. Luckily my dishwasher was empty so all plates and such got washed immediately and all I had to do was put away leftovers.

At the end of the night I decided I was very thankful that Angie loaned me her meat thermometer and brought dessert. Markus was thankful that I actually decided I like goose, because it is hard on him that I hate duck. Mary was thankful that Alex did not destroy the house and she did not have to chase him screaming “No!” Alex was thankful that Mary was not screaming and that he had more people to climb on. He also appreciated having a plate containing only meat and no veggies to contaminate it. Little sweet Analena was thankful that Mary had horses to play with, while Cedrick was just thankful that we had Peter Pan in German so he could understand it. It was my first Thanksgiving with my husband and children, and also my first Thanksgiving since I moved to Germany. Despite the four hours constantly on my feet cooking in a very hot kitchen I really enjoyed it. It was an experience that I hope to repeat next year.

Needless to say, it was not as stressful as I envisioned it to be. The kids behaved rather well, the food was great, and we all went to bed with full stomachs and no allergic reactions in sight. That is something to be really thankful for which brings me to my next point. When cooking for others, Thanksgiving or not, it is always best to call the person and ask if they or anyone in their family has any food allergies. This will save you a trip to the hospital and a lot of guilt over poisoning the guests. I hope that you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving and that you all have a safe Black Friday. Please try to avoid being trampled in the stores today. One final note, Happy Birthday Grace! My little sister’s birthday is today and while I can’t be with her to celebrate I shall drink some rum (her favorite) tonight in celebration. I hope that you and Win have fun today going out and that no one steps on either of you if she ends up taking you to Wal-Mart. Happy Birthday and I miss and love you very much Grace!

I’m on vacation, savouring every moment. It’s nice to actually be able to sleep in your own bed for more than one night. I actually have time to do laundry and have dry clothing as opposed to haphazardly washing garments and returning home to damp soggy rag-like items. My bed has become a make-shift office of sorts with lazy dogs, papers, books and electronics scattered amongst these soft hotel-like sheets.

This is my royal bed-in, all I need is some of the usual services easily obtained in the comforts of a hotel such as, room service and I probably could outlast John and Yoko’s bed romps.

Date 2 came and went with seeming success. The ‘date’ turned into a weekend long affair in Montreal, a city I consider a little piece of heaven. I decided to meet up with Mr. Smiles as opposed to waiting for him to come to me. Yes ladies, I know I’m breaking all the rules here by not having my date come traverse to moi however, i’m living life in the fast-lane and when your most common mode of transportation is a plane, it changes your perspective when you can hop on a plane to go on a date. I think its much more exciting, the anticipation of not being in your own hometown for a date creates mystery. Leaving your  familiar surroundings and entering the unfamiliar opens a whole world of exciting new potential spots your date will take you and ensures a great time by keeping the element of surprise.

I love being a passenger on my airline. The experience is worth it and the service is actually primo, we really do have  gorgeous flight attendants. It’s fun to observe the other passengers reactions and watch how many people actually watch the pre-flight safety demo – the numbers are staggering, must be those beautiful pearlies and cute retro uniforms. Arrived in Montreal ahead of schedule and made my way into Old Montreal only to be pleasantly reminded how cute Mr. Smiles looks and even better out of a suit.

The weekend was full of fun eats and treats. Upon arrival, we promptly went for lunch at a very French style bistro that filled up quickly with the usual business types, we started out with Oysters and a bottle of wine – setting the tone for a weekend of indulging in 2 of my favourite things – food and wine. The weekend only kept getting better and better. The hotel even had a pool, I always seek out pools in hotels, a great way to stretch out all your muscles, relieving built up tension in your back and neck.

I also discovered how much better Van Houtte’s cafe’s are, my favourite new drink is the choco-cafe espresso moka! Oh yum, a perfect balance of sweet and savoury. I will be having that tomorrow morning once I touch down.

Voor sommigen van ons is de beruchte winterdip onvermijdelijk. Voor mij ook. Klote natuurlijk, maar we kunnen het wel zo leuk mogelijk maken!

Tip 1: Pepernoten. Toe maar, eet je er maar door heen.

Tip 2: Kerstliedjes. Ook al is het misschien nog lang geen Kerst, het is geen schande om nu al los te gaan op Last Christmas. Ik doe het ook.

Tip 3: Aitor Mateo. Werkt tien keer beter dan een elektrische deken.

Tip 4: Nieuwe laarzen. Voor bij het nieuwe jurkje natuurlijk.

Tip 5: Film kijken met een drankje tot je slaapt. Acht uur non-stop is mijn record. Na die uurtjes raakte ik in diepe slaap met mijn fles Baileys op mijn buik, kerstmuts op mijn hoofd. De rest van het gezelschap was al lang van de wereld.

Tip 6: Sloffies en ‘hot chocolate’. Mocht Aitor je plannetje finaal in de soep gooien, heb je altijd je warme chocomel nog.

Tip 7: Een warm bad met bubbels. Met champagne. En een inzeper.

Tip 8: Kaarsen. ‘Baby it’s cold outside, let’s stay in.’

Tip 9: Een fluffy bed. Blijf maar lekker liggen.

Tip 10: Sporten. Get your ass out of bed and get rid of those love handles. Ze mogen dan warm zijn, maar ik heb ze liever niet. Plak een plaatje op van een te wensen eindresultaat en blijf gemotiveerd!

Have a very hot winter!

Afgelopen weekend prezen vrienden de heerlijkheid van het ’s avonds douchen. Het toppunt van genieten: n na een douchepartij in een schoon opgemaakt bed stappen. Zondag heb ik dat scenario eens uitgebreid uitgeprobeerd. Ik heb eerst mijn bed opgemaakt en ben grondig gaan douchen. Moe, maar voldaan, half afgedroogd en met natte haren stapte ik in bed… Het was inderdaad fantastisch.

Toch kijk ik een paar dagen heel anders terug op dit scenario… De volgende dag en nog twee dagen lang na deze nacht waren een complete ramp! Ik liep die dagen rond met haar als een ongeschoren schaap, een pluizige poedel of een blanke kroeskop die nog nooit een Afro cosmeticashop van binnen gezien heeft. Er was niets te beginnen met mijn coupe. Ik heb alles geprobeerd: borstelen, haar vast, in een knot, haarband en diadeem, pet op,… maar irritante pluizige plukjes schaamhaar bleven zich loswringen uit mijn gekapte coupe. Ook verschillende haarverzorgingsproducten die ik losgelaten heb op mijn haar (denk aan crèmevoeding, serum, mousse, wax, gel, haarolie) hielpen niet. Het enige dat ik daarmee bereikte is dat mijn haar uiteindelijk één grote kleverige sliert geworden is. Toen was het duidelijk dat er niets anders op zat dan weer onder de douche te springen.

’s Avonds in een schoon bed stappen is fantastisch. ’s Avonds douchen voor het slapen gaan is ook fijn en zelfs een beetje prikkelend. Kale lezers kan ik het ook alleen maar aanraden. Maar alle andere lezers wil ik graag behoeden voor deze onhandelbare ‘coupe stopcontact’. Voordat je aan dit scenario begint dien je je te bezinnen op de lange termijn effecten. Kan je de verantwoordelijkheid voor de consequenties aan? Neem in ieder geval voorzorgsmaatregelen! Trek je hoofd onder de straal vandaan voordat de douche aan gaat, bind je haar van tevoren vast in een spiraalvormige knot, of schuif een rubberen badmuts over je hoofd. Mijn devies voor het slapen gaan luidt: douche veilig, of douche niet!

Grandma Ollie and the Slop Pail

Grandma Ollie always had a slop pail or bucket  by the side of her bed at  night.

I’m sure she grew up in this fashion, and she never put the slop bucket away even when she had a modern bathroom.  When I would stay with her at night, it was always by her side of the bed.  In the morning she would take it to the bathroom and empty it and clean it.  This is just a memory I thought I would share, and see if anyone else remembers the Slop Pails.

November 24, 2009 A GROUP of transsexual sex workers in Chow Kit are using pornographic films to distract clients before robbing them, reported Harian Metro.

Members of the group would seduce the victim while another sex worker would try to steal belongings like wallets and handphones.

In a recent incident, a client known as Ping said he was asked to lie on the bed before choosing a free DVD pornographic movie to watch as a “warm-up”.

“The sex worker told me to take off my pants. It was then placed on a chair nearby,” said the 33-year-old chef.

Ping declined to elaborate on what happened next, but said he reached for his pants only to find that his handphone was missing from the pocket when he heard loud noises that sounded like a fight outside the room.

“I was even more surprised to find that my wallet, which was originally in my pocket, was moved to the top of the television set. Some RM400 was also gone,” he said.

After Ping repeatedly demanded the sex worker to return his valuables, she finally agreed to give them back, claiming that her friend had stolen them.

Heading to bed now, hoping for tomorrow to be a better day, because I finally see my Girlfriend again.
I guess work will be boring as always, but I hope to do some more interesting stuff with my GF

Today I was browsing the Internet, acquiring some knowledge if you prefer to call it like that, and I came across a posting that had the right path of creativity, therefore, I decided to re-invent it, edit it, and change it for your delightful entertainment.  Hopefully all of us girls can identify.. My Boyfriend Application and Test

First, a little about me. I’m a 26-year-old, very  good looking and intelligent Latina, with a full time Job and  attending University. I’m tired of wasting my time, so I have formulated some mandatory criteria in part A, and part B is based on points.

Part A

1) You must be born male. I’ll need to see a birth certificate proving so.

2) You must own something to wear to a formal reception. And at least a couple formal shoes.
3) You must not own or ever wear Birkenstocks, crocs footwear or wrangler jeans. Or wear your jeans so low, that  I can see the end of your briefs.
4) All your parts need to be in good working order, further testing will need to be conducted of course.
5) I can’t accept a regular drug user. Despite CA culture, I am including weed.
6) You must own at least four collared dress shirts. You need to look presentable standing next to me.
7) Your height must be proportional to your weight using the standard AMA guidelines. (fyi, I do prefer them taller than me, so you have to be at least 6 feet) .
You must have a couple photos which were  taken in the last 2 months.
9) English must be your first language. However you need to have a pretty good understanding of Spanish and Latin culture, or at least a desire to learn.

If you meet all of the requirements above then you may continue, if not, then you are now dismissed but thank you for applying to be my boyfriend.

Now: give yourself two points for each of the following criteria you meet

Part B

1) You have (or are working on) a degree.
2) You own a car and have a valid driver’s license. Suspended for DUIs: minus 10 points.

3) If your car is better and newer than mine add 5 points
4) You’ve never worn Ed Hardy, Affliction or any other Christian Audigier affiliated brand.

5) If 80% of your shoes can be described as sneakers take minus 5 points.
6) You follow at least one professional sport.
7) You have skills in bed. Not because you think you do, because your past experiences have told you.

14) You can make it through a romantic comedy without complaining (don’t worry we don’t have to tell your friends).
15) You have a great sense of humor. Are people laughing with you, or at you?
16) You can plan a good date without any help or advice from me. “I don’t know, what do you want to do” isn’t an answer.
17) You work out and enjoy being physically active. I hit the gym regularly, you should too.
18) You have a job that requires more than a high school diploma.
19) You read books, or at least you read the newspaper, so we can talk about worldwide subjects.  

20) You are an educated individual. You challenge my intellectual abilities.
21) You have a 5 year goal.
22) You aren’t afraid of being yourself, even if you have a dorky, nerdy side. (that’s kinda hot).
23) You’re competitive, and I don’t mean you like to battle it out on Wii with your buddies on the weekends.
24) You know how to dance.

25) You are spontaneous and creative.

26) You are secure about yourself and us. Meaning I’m not looking for a jealous, immature, insecure chauvinistic pig. People are going to check us out. Just enjoy the ride, at the end of the night I’m going home with you.

27) Last but not least, you can acknowledge when you screw up, and say sorry;  flowers and a romantic dinner might help you get some points back.

If you have a score of 40+ then please contact me immediately. If you scored between 20-35 pts, you can contact me, but I don’t have a lot of hope for our future relationship. If you did not score high enough, then please do not contact me, but if at some time in the future you are able to improve yourself and meet the minimum requirements, then you may re-apply.

Each thought can be tied to the ends of the last word formed. Trees are grouped with the notes of a familiar song, dirt is relative to the water I’d rather not drink, and toilet paper tells me a story of Mummies and being young again. I’m will consider myself to be cognitive distance runner. if that makes any sense. And the beauty about that absurd statement is that my thoughts aren’t brilliant or even so much as beneficial to anyone… but they are there for me and with no room to stretch out.  And I’m glad I have them. So in my blogging absence, rest assured that I was not in a vegetable state. My nights have consisted of HULU and catching up on these tv shows. Community cracks me up with their wit and sarcasm. Glee is…. well I have no idea why I continue to be drawn to the show. The Office is intriguing for its amazing cast of comedians except for the Michael Scott dude. I just feel bad/annoyed at the guy during the entire episode. V is the new show about Aliens. It’s new, hence why it’s at the bottom, and I’m really interested to see how the Priest handles the beliefs of weary congregation and his Resistance against the aliens.

Lastnight was the 1st time in a long time I didnt say goodnight to anyone. I’m not sure why I noticed that but I laid in bed for about 40 or so minutes thinking about that. I dwelled on this vacant place in my… heart? head? somewhere in the northern place of my body, proly behind my chest. I had to think about the consecutive nights where I had closed my days with a simple cliche. Goodnight. Silent and wrapped in cold sheets. Its never been easy to be alone, but its easier than being alone with someone you dont wanna be with. I’ll keep my space for the time being.
