There has always been something about the way he smells that sort of overrules my thought process. I’m not quite sure what his pheromones actually do, because it’s not as if I want to tear off his clothes and get on top of him. It’s not really sexual. It’s just desire. Or maybe fascination. I can recall many times it hasn’t even been pleasant, and yet the attraction is impossible to deny. I am amused by this. Also that the most unstable psyches have seemed to had the most memorable scents. I know that things are changing, though. Can an animal ever resist the urge, because it knows more? This is also entertaining to think about because it seems as though the men who were most incapable of a compatible form of love also have had the strongest scents. Why would this be? If anything, I suspect that’s why I might stay so long…mistaking a carnal reaction for patience. But this is somewhat comforting, as they do not seem to be a treacherous type.

I realize that I’ll never see a real walk-in closet, not even like Carrie’s “before” let alone her “after” one, so I’ve been working on an idea on how to integrate such a space in the bedroom. Since I don’t even have that bedroom yet, everything is still tagged heavily as “dreamer” but here goes what I’ve come up with so far. Instead of placing the bed against a real wall, I’d hoist it into the middle of the room where it would stand against a “wall headboard”, which is the back of a closet like in the photo from Sunset. Those closets would fit bed linen, towels, table cloths and runners all in one place; shoes, bags (not dirty traveller’s bags though, they’d be stored in the basement) and seasonal accessories (summer or winter hats, gloves etc. depending on which ones are needed at that time, i.e. stored in the entry) in another one.

After having joined Image Spark, I’ve realized that it would be very nice to add a few spotlights above the bed, attached to the “roof” of the closets like in this picture.

Clothes and accessories would be stored in closets on the opposite side, standing against the wall. Right now I’m dreaming of three modules there; a closet for my husband, one for me and between them a lower (about to the waist) cabinet with drawers in two modules for jewellery, ties, etc. Above the drawers would be a mirror and the lighting would be nice spots both above the mirror and along the aisle. I’m not a fan of wall-to-wall carpets in the whole room, but the aisle would be covered completely by a soft, nice carpet. The person to get up first could easily turn the lights on and wouldn’t bother the other one, who’s still sleeping.

Here’s an image of a nicely lit hallway between the bedroom and bathroom. Decoration-wise it’s way too minimalistic for my taste, but the lighting is excellent.

I haven’t been able to decide yet whether sliding doors would be nicer to have. They definitely are practical if the aisle isn’t that wide, but on the other hand I like being able to open several doors at the same time and the sliding back and forth can be more annoying to listen to rather than the closing of a door in one go.

It seems fitting for me to begin my new blog venture with a clean slate. But, ashamedly, I’ve got to get there first. Perhaps I’m a bit late for Spring Cleaning, considering it’s now well into November, but better late than never. Right?

This week has been devoted to some serious organization overhaul, starting in the bedroom. This was not just a quick  clean sweep. Rather than stuffing things away, I organized and simplified. I’m too embarrassed to show you how it started out. Right now I’ll show you the amazing after. Welcome to my little oasis…

Most people don’t know the true definition of a healthy sexual relationship. A relationship where both partners are happy and satisfied. Both having achieved their desired climax.

Far to often women give in to having sex when really not in the mood. There is always the looming old saying “if you don’t do it someone else will.”
Mutual respect before and after sex. Even if that mutual understanding is that sex is all you two share it is still consider mutual respect.

There should be a clear understanding about the type of relationship you two have started. Whether its strickly pleasure, pleasure with possibilities, or future planned. There needs to be clear rules or talks about what the both of you expect or don’t expect out of one another.

Protect yourself accordingly and get tested regularly.

And most of all remember sex is fun and fullfilling to be enjoyed not a duty!

Hello my lovelies!

Aujourd’hui est une journée ’sans’; je ne travaille pas, je me suis couchée très très tard hier soir après avoir passé la soirée au Château, et je sens que je ne vais pas faire grand chose de productif cet après-midi.

Le chauffage est allumé, ma lampe de bureau également, et ce depuis ce matin. Il fait gris et tellement sombre! Je suis fatiguée, pas envie de faire quoi que ce soit, si ce n’est une sieste.

Je dors vraiment très mal depuis quelques semaines, pourtant je devrais être fatiguée. Je travaille au Château quasiment tous les après-midis, je sors, je continue mes recherches de boulot… Mais en ce moment, impossible de m’endormir avant trois heures du matin. Je trouve ma chambre froide et impersonnelle, ce qui ne m’aide pas vraiment. Après mon déménagement je vais devoir acheter un nouveau lit, et j’aimerais en profiter pour acheter des nouveaux draps, housses de couette et coussins. J’ai envie de couleurs chaudes, de quelque chose d’un peu plus douillet!

J’ai déjà une bouillotte en fausse fourrure tigré, un cadeau de Mummy! La bouillotte me fait drôlement penser à mon chat, que j’ai hâte de revoir d’ailleurs!

My flat is extremely draughty and some of the windows don’t have double glasses, which has become a real problem now that I can’t go without heating anymore. And on top of that only two of three radiators are working as they should. I sometimes wish that I would have found another apartment, but oh well. Recently, I read on AT about bubble wrapping cold windows and since I had some of it left from the move in May, I decided to have a go at it. So far I’ve wrapped the windows in the bedroom and kitchen, and it seems to work okay. At least they aren’t ice cold to touch anymore. Due to having a cat, I couldn’t wrap all four windows, but for my own sanity I guess it’s good too.
