Tokom narednih nedelja, sve/svi zajedno učestvovaćemo u stvaranju prijatne, prijateljske i otvorene atmosfere unutar društva u kome živimo i čiji smo sastavni deo.

Hi everyone!

My name is Milica, 28 years old. I live in Belgrade, Serbia

So far i’ve been dentist tehnicial in high school, then I went to University and finished Technical Science/ Industrial Engineering and Management. My first job was in Austrian leasing company and very soon i realised i cannot enjoy so much birocracy. Soon, i started doing something more creative and i got into Marketing.

Photography was always something I enjoy much more than averege person, so 3 years ago i simply start shooting and I realised it’s something I must do because it’s too important for me! For me, photography is very deep and powerful way of communication, it’s something that makes you be more creative and proactive and it gives you so much pleasure. Somehow I become quite famous photographer in my country, and somehow I got here☺ to tell you my stories in pics.

I’ll write you and take photos about my life and people around me. Time to time, i’ll show you beautiful landscapes because ST550(TL225) have amazing 27mm!!

I’m truly glad to be part of this blog:

1. because I already work as Marketing Manager in company that distribute Samsung products so I’m lucky enough to get in touch with awesome new products from Samsung before others☺

2. And because I’m doing photography in my spare time (mostly portraits of women and kids).

3. Normally, Samsung ST550(TL225) in my hands gave me so much pleasure and fun and can’t wait to show you guys what this little miracle can do!

First of all, it simply fascinates me how is doing transformations from normal to sepia or black

(without expencive softwers for photo editing) and white as we can see here:

Black and white is simply magical, if you ask me it has amazing artistic feeling because of real

black and real white (without awful grey tones that i really don’t like in BW photography) and

Soon I got my amazing ST550(TL225) i had terrible need to present it in front of my dear friends.

“2 LCD displays, no way”!!!, they said.

Cannot even explain you how much fun they had when they realised that ST550(TL225) can really give

Another great list from Lonely Planet, the world’s top 10 places to party. I put the list to the test and found out whether TravelPod bloggers partied it up, or died of boredom…

1. Belgrade = Party Town

Some "barge-clubs" found in Belgrade, Serbia

“This is a town that knows how to go out. There are bars everywhere, the river is chock-a-block with barge-clubs and apparently most of the ‘coolest’ venues are still hidden away in unmarked basements. With no budget airlines serving Nikola Tesla airport it is also pleasantly lacking in British stag dos.” – Jiewu

2. Montreal = Fun, but expensive

Goldenfrog88 at Sky Pub in Montreal, Canada

We went to the gay district again to a bar that was recommended. We started off on their third floor terrace and ordered Canada’s infamously weak and expensive drinks. April and I ordered cosmos and got vodka crans in a plastic cup with one once of vodka for $7 each. After an hour we went to the first floor where a drag-show was happening. The performances were excellent with impersenations of the slum dog dance, Tina turner, and Madonna. I was surprised there was no way to tip them! Lastly, we went to the second floor to dance. Griselda and Isabella left earlier than April and myself. I tried getting over the whole “I don’t belong in gay bars” and just started dancng by myself to see what happens. I ended up dancing with some guy who had had way too much with different intentions of my own but at least he was cute. – Goldenfrog88

3. Buenos Aires = so-so

Curtisejtaylor meeting Brazilians at a pool hall in Buenos Aires

I don’t know what it’s like to party in big cities, but Buenos Aires, I found, is nothing worth boasting about. Nothing out of this world, if you’re wondering. It was good. – Curtisejtaylor

4. Dubai = “a very fun time”

Tnowakow at a private New Year's Eve party in Dubai, UAE

“The party was at a friend’s of Mona’s out in Jumeriah and we drove to a super market where he had cabs come and take us to the actual house (he didn’t want a bunch of cars at his place). It was a sweet looking villa with a pool outside and he had masks for everyone to wear before the New Year. He also had it catered with any kind of drinks that you would want. All in all it was a very fun time actually” – Tnowakow

5. Thessaloniki = “such a fun night”

Jhdavis' friend Allie, with her drink on a party boat in Thessaloniki

“We sailed around the bay for 30 minutes and the boat took us down the other side of Thessaloniki and across the downtown area by Aristotle Square and the waterfront bars and cafes. The music was great and all the people abroad where so friendly. At the end, we made our way back down to the dock and left the boat. It was such a fun night.” – Jhdavis

6. La Paz = a little boring

Wadeoliver at the "green party" in La Paz

“Boys with the booze arrived 8 with 1 10L bottle (looked more like a gas can) of rum and 20L of vodka plus mixers. Once everybody had a drink in their hand then the party really started. The arrival of 4 giant pizzas for dinner was fun (one slice = 3 normal) but because I wasn’t into the whole dance thing, I had had enough by 11:00. I had to unlock my door and leave it open while I went downstairs to give the key to Mike as the door can’t be left unlocked. Felt a little sick (ok, threw up a little), showered, bed 11:30. Mike woke me at 01:45 knocking on the door because he was too drunk to remember I’d given him the key! Then Jo is knocking on the door 5 minutes later and he’s having a conversation with her in his jocks out in the hall so not to disturb me more (he’s a nice guy) but as one of the guys chasing Jo passed by it must have been embarrassing!” – Wadeoliver

7. Cape Town = 24 hour parties!

Nat_yeo and her friends dressed up for a party in Cape Town

“We gathered at Proc’s house for champagne and dress ups before heading off to the big party at Ratanga Junction Theme Park, where the party was kicking into full swing. It is quite a thing to arrive at the party. Each group crosses over a catwalk and is announced as they arrive with cameras clicking and video cameras recording – you really want to ensure you have put enough effort into your costumes! The atmosphere was fantastic, the crowd very friendly and the music was rocking! We had a great night partying hard until the early hours before sunrise when we made a brief visit back to Cinds and Sebs for a quick shower and change, then off to another party!

The other party was an outdoor trance party held in a secret location around Hout Bay. Soon enough, we were kicking up a dust storm at breakfast time. We had a load of fun – I made some new friends and met some old and even had a call from UK friends cracking on back home whilst I walked through the surrounding forest. We called it quits around lunch time for some much needed sleep – a fantastic way to end 2 weeks in Cape Town.” – Nat_yeo

8. Baku = giant wedding parties

Lok loved the dancing at a wedding in Baku, Azerbaijan

“We then all drove to the village’s wedding hall (yes, weddings are the only events held here), honking all the way. Men and women were seated, at 20 long banquest tables, separately in the hall. It was packed with some 350 people. There were food, wine, vodka, live band and singers and a lot of speeches and dancing. They have a lot of arm movements when they dance – both guys and girls. I could not tell who are husbands and wives since they did not interact at all throughout the event.

After 4 hours, the party at the wedding hall came to an end at 12:30 a.m. It was only adjourned to the bride’s home for more drinks and snacks.” – Lok

9. Auckland = high class style

Andanddan ringing in the new year in Auckland

“An hour or so later we wandered back into the foyer area, which was by this time buzzing with people, and we made our way back to the original bar. Another band, comprising a male and female singer, were now in full flow and had the crowd rocking and the dance floor heaving. At this stage we decided not to move on to the Loaded Hog as originally planned – this was turning out to be a good night and the price was right too!” – Andanddan

10. Tel Aviv = Shabbat culture

Egsolove partied every night when he was in Israel

“I still have another night in Israel, and its going to be a good one. It’s shabbat, the party night. Israelis stay up very late, starting to party at 12:30 and not stopping until 5 or 6 sometimes. I’ve done this pretty much every night I’ve been in Israel. It gets exhausting for an American boy. But the culture here is amazing.” – Egsolove

Or maybe it is “All Roads Lead to Rome.” I don’t know. Whatever the case I have used the philosophy a few times and the annoying fact is that very often roads go somewhere but unfortunately it is not always the place you want to go to. Secondly and more importantly once the road has gone to the place you don’t want it to go it quite often stops.

Leaving the very busy, dirty and bustling Belgrade on a bicycle is something that I would only wish to ever do once. Today after being 100% focused for two hours with lunatics for company on the roads, I make it out alive.

Panting my way up a gigantic mountain and into some beautiful country I then enjoy a long leisurely coast down the other side. I like to think that I know better than any map and was distraught when all of a sudden the road ended abruptly after 20kms. I frantically gathered a whole audience in a tiny village as I tried to get them to explain how I could cut through to where I wanted to be. After a few minutes and many hand gestures I realized that it was tail between my legs back up the mountain and into Belgrade to do the thing I hoped I would never have to do again; one more time.

These are the moments that my dad would describe as character building.

Dear half-century-old Momus posted something real nice the other day. Among his tidbits of wisdom:

You know too much about LA and not enough about Laos. On the internet and in “the real world” you’re consistently looking in the wrong places for inspiration. Why is that? Partly it’s because the things that could really change you make you scared.

Reminded me to briefly mention the magic that was my ten-days-in-September fumble at various points nearby or on the Danube (Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade and places between).

Most greats things about this trip can be credited to happenstance, starting with what seemed to be an inconvenient stopover. I landed in Brussels between Toronto and Vienna, left my bags checked at the airport and blindly headed into the city. Stumbled upon a fantastic Sophie Calle retrospective at BOZAR. Just so happens I’d recently read The Mystery Guest by Grégoire Bouillier (the cover of which, beautifully gold-foiled, had appealed to my magpie-like aesthetic sensibilities). The story includes a whimsical encounter with Calle, and I’d put it somewhere in the back of my mind to further investigate her work at a later date. Who knew?

Merely the start of a brilliant last few days of summer. Tiny things, nice moments. A short list of highlights:

One day in Vienna, Klas and I rested in a public park after a day of aimless tourism, only to catch sight of a singing woman in a bright yellow patterned headwrap and dress, singing in front of a camera for what could only be a perfectly low-budget music video. In front of a Russian memorial, no less. Caught her on tape (er, the video function on my digital camera).

Johnny the radio host took us to a party in nearby Slovakia, which put us in a former bomb shelter in the bottom of a mountain under a castle, listening to very loud and obscure electronic music. The name of the genre escapes me.

In Budapest, I met up with my friend Vladimir, a television journalist from the press tour in Israel back in June/July. After spending a couple of days overwhelming ourselves with opulent architecture, we drove to Belgrade through Hungary and beautiful Serbian agriculture (truly rolling hills!), stopping overnight in a small town called Sombor to visit his extremely hospitable army friend and his charming, English-speaking girlfriend. We bonded while the boys conversed in Serbian.

In Belgrade things got pretty perfect. Out of nowhere rose a rakija festival, complete with bootlegged honey schnapps (which I later managed to get through customs). Another day, we fell face first into a parade with singing crowds and airborne hats. On a stroll through downtown, we stopped into a small free gallery and saw one of Vlada’s most favourite paintings ever, quite by accident. That sort of stuff.

Serbia had rarely crossed my mind, to be perfectly honest, and I’d certainly never thought to go there—until I met and became friends with Vlada and took a chance because I planned on being somewhat in the neighbourhood. Turns out the people, the food, the culture—mostly entirely amazing. Do not go to LA, people! Visit Belgrade!

Perhaps my Canadian (and urban centre) mentality did not, however, prepare me for the old-country approach when it came to gay rights. For the first time since 2001, organizers attempted to hold a much-anticipated Pride Parade on my last weekend in town. Due to threats of violence, the parade had to be cancelled. Kinda sad.

Ils ont d’ailleurs enregistrer un album avec Ljiljana Buttler, “The legends of life”.

"The mother of gypsy soul"

Some kid from Cincinnati thinks I should blog about this…
(not that this is a pic of his town. its actually Atlantic City by nite)

According to the BBC

A massive multi-player version of the popular property game Monopoly has been launched online. Monopoly City Streets, developed by toymaker Hasbro, will go live on 9 September for four months. The free game uses Google Maps or the open source Open Street Map as the playing board. The toymaker claims it will be “the biggest game of Monopoly of all time” and will allow players to purchase almost “any street in the world”. The goal of the game, like the real-world version, is to earn money on real estate and become the richest property magnate.

New players are given three million Monopoly dollars to build their virtual empire.
Every street in the world is, in theory, available for purchase. Once a player has taken control of a street, they are able to charge rent and build new virtual properties. Streets can also be traded and sold with other players. The game makers have introduced chance cards, which allow players to sabotage neighbouring rivals by building rubbish dumps, prisons or wind farms on their property to reduce the rent value of their neighbours. Players can only remove a hazard by bulldozing it off their property, again through the use of chance cards. The game will close on the 31 January 2010.

Yay playing at capitalist dispossession!

BFD. I was always more into the olde skool trivia- this being one of the oldest board games in my relatively young country. Like how, on the one hand I was probably half-way to college by time I’d learned that the properties were all based on streets in Atlantic City, New Jersey (Hence a bunch of streets that aren’t in New York for some reason, and the Boardwalk being the big payload). In fact, the little orange link below has some interesting clarifications on where exactly these names come from geographically (its not all actually streets), including which trains really ran in Atlantic City 100 years ago and so on, and what-have-you.

What really struck me, on the other hand, was the moment when my partner (who is quaker), told me about how Monopoly was created by a Quaker who wanted to make a game that taught people how effed up capitalism was, and how it makes everybody go broke (except for that one jerk who wins by exploiting everybody else). I was skeptical but wanted so badly to believe the rumor. After all, it totally made sense. So I did what most high schoolers, and too damn many undergraduates would consider “research”. Thus, according to wikipedia:

The history of Monopoly can be traced back to 1904, when a Quaker woman named Elizabeth (Lizzie) J. Magie Phillips created a game through which she hoped to be able to explain the single tax theory of Henry George (it was intended to illustrate the negative aspects of concentrating land in private monopolies). Her game, The Landlord’s Game, was commercially published a few years later. Other interested game players redeveloped the game and some made their own sets. Lizzie herself patented a revised edition of the game in 1904, and similar games were published commercially.

By 1935 a board game named Monopoly was created much like the version of Monopoly sold by Parker Brothers and its parent companies throughout the rest of the 20th century and into the 21st. The Parker Brothers’ version was created by Charles Todd but sold to them by Charles Darrow. Several people, mostly in the U.S. Midwest and near the U.S. East Coast, contributed to the game’s design and evolution.

So all this got me to thinking about how the Monopoly board, for all its iconography is also a bizarre slice of urban history in its representation of Atlantic City. For example, Illinois Ave (the real one for which one of the “red” properties just past free parking was named), has been Martin Luther King Jr Blvd since sometime in the 80s. Weird huh? I bet a lot of folks would be much more excited about a version with that guy’s name on it instead of the state that in recent history made Rod Blagojevich (he and some other political, movement-leading black guy) famous.

That, and apparently there was some online vote a year and half ago where “the world” decided that these were the cities that should be included on a ludicrous 2008 “World Monopoly” game edition. This may make you cry:

In case you can’t see it well enough to be depressed about it, the only two countries to have more than one city pimped out on the board are Canada (Vancouver, Toronto, and Montréal), and China (Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai). This is supposed to be World Monopoly. There are no cities in Latin America represented, folks! And none in India! WTeffers?! Riga (the capital of Lativa) is the 2nd most sought-after property in the world?! People!! Join me, please, in reading down this roster of utter disappointment. Going clock-wise from “GO”:

In classic form, now that I’ve brought you down, I’ll leave you on a posi note. By introducing you to Riskopoly!!! Behold:

Instructions are as follows

As explained on the map, all of the trains connect. “Attack Jail” is a one way attack to the opposite corner. “Go” can attack any corner. All Chance spaces (question marks) are connected to the deck of Chance cards, and likewise all War Chest spaces (shields) connect to that deck (spaces can attack the deck and the deck can attack the spaces). The Chance/Chest spaces are part of their color’s continent, and the decks are part of the orange and yellow continents.

The utilities (Electric Co. and Water Works) can attack their deed cards laying in the lower left corner of the board. These two deed cards can also attack each other. The bills are also territories connected to each space they touch, and the bills are part of their color’s continent.

This is NOT a one directional board, attacks can go in either directions (except for the special corners as described above). There are 48 territories all together.

This is made entirely with original art, built from scratch. There is no copyrighted material on the map. The names of the spaces are all street names found in Atlantic City. The Parker Bros. patent for Monopoly expired in 1985.

I plan to add some more decoration (some dice and maybe a drink on a coaster…), but will wait until any further structural or game play issues are worked out.

Ideas floating around that could be discussed: make it one way, use Risk country names instead of the street names, no bonus for “free army” space, no penalty for tax space, more money around edge of board, make it a deck of “risk” cards instead of “chance” cards, put “just visiting” back in, etc.

I’ll leave all of that undigested. This may trump (ha ha, get it, atlantic city?!), Simpsons Monopoly as my here to fore favoritest version of the anti-capitalist classic.
