The detailing on something can really change the feel.  Some strategically placed metal spikes can turn the sweetest of sweaters into an edgier look.  I love the influx of spikes, studs and metal accoutrements in the fashion world and this simple knit was no exception.  The pairing of floral shorts was the perfect contrast for an afternoon coffee.

I love this bootie.  The heel and side cutout give edge and movement to this classic style, which makes them perfect for pairing with a ton of different wardrobe pieces.  Pair with everything from frayed denim shorts to skinny jeans, mini to maxi.  These are also a great transitional bootie for fall.

A wedge boot is always a great investment.  They’re comfortable, easy to walk in and look fab.  I love these because of the amazing metallic details at the toe and heel – subtle, yet statement making.  Again, pair with anything.  Try keeping the outfit simple and letting the shoes speak for themselves or style yourself edgy to bring out the personality of the shoe.  Again, great transition piece into fall.

It was a toss up for me between this and the Tarnney (find here), but I ultimately decided to showcase this.  Why, you ask?  Because to me it’s the perfect versatile flat bootie.  The color is great – looks worn and vintage-y, I love the buckles, and the boot is a boot without a ton of bells and whistles.  Pair this with a great pair of slouchy denim shorts and a light fabric-ed white t-shirt, or wear with a maxi dress/skirt paired with a chambre top.  Or why not pair with your favorite skinny jeans with a fabulous blazer?  Even pair with skinny trousers and a fab striped or colored sweater for fall.  See, you can wear with anything.

Quick tip before I go – remember that you don’t have to buy new booties to rock for the summer!  Shop your closet – see what you have and try pairing them with different looks!  Or if you want to buy a new pair but don’t want to break the bank, try searching eBay.  It’s technically the off season for boot shopping so prices tend to be lower.  So why not pick up a great pair to wear now and transition into fall/winter with!
