I just got wind of an awesome new blogger challenge from Samara Barzane of The 3 Fashionteers. Basically it’s picking 3 and only 3 items from your inventory you just flat-out refuse to part with. After going through damn near everything in my inventory, it was clear what my “GO-TOs” are and from there I narrowed it even further to just 3. Damn it was hard, but I did it and here are my 3s and why I love them!

1. Belleza’s Jesse Skin in Deep Tan
a) It’s my default skin. The face and body are simply amazing.
b) I didn’t have to tweak my face for this skin at all, it just fit sooo right, like it was practically made for me (thanks Tricky!)
c) I’m so scared SL will accidentally erase it from my inventory, I’ve copied the skins into 2 different folders, incase SL decides to be a bish and eat my skins!

2. Truth’s Minx Hair in Chocolate
a) Love the softness of this hair! The sweet side sweeping of the bangs and the luscious soft curls that cascades and lands perfect at the top of my breasts.
b) The texture and color are both AMAZING! Like I said, doesn’t it just look so friggin super soft and lusciously lovely?
c) It’s so obvious I wanna have Truth Hawk’s pixel babies and I hope that if I ever do, they come out with awesome hair like this!

3. Boom’s Getting Low Jeans in Indigo
a) They’re just the most perfect low riders.. EVER..and gives me the cutest & perkiest ass
b) Texture is kick-ass and so are the prim cuffs. I refuse to wear pants without prim cuffs these days.
c) I’ve actually dragged friends to Boom and made them buy these jeans (boys included)

Handily 50L Friday this week is running right through the weekend, finishing Sunday night.  There are some lovely things out, so do go look and perhaps treat yourself to some gifts that you actually want!

*Fishy Strawberry* have two outfits out – one for guys and another for us girls.  Both feature the fab Equinox jeans in Extreme, and the tops we are wearing.  Sorzun’s top has a back print too and all parts are on multi layers.  I am also wearing hair from Clawtooth by Clawtooth – this is How Soon is Later? in sunset,  You get a blonde & brunette version in the pack and the beret is colour change.

Kookie’s offering is this whole outfit – sweater, leggings, shoes and hair with hat.  The leggings come on both layers, and the sweater on shirt & jacket layer.  This is great and a real bargain for only 50L

fri.day have this lovely hair style with hat out.  winter.jennifer includes loads of different hair colours and both the hat and the bows on the ends of the plaits are colour/texture change.  Poses used throughout are from Long Awkward Pose – there are two packs of five poses out, one for guys and one for girls. However there aren’t pictures showing you what the poses actually are, so it’s a bit of a leap of faith.

I’m should only be mentioning 50L items, however the skin I’m wearing is the latest group gift from Belleza.  You get three skin tones (pale, sunkissed & tan) and there are male versions included.  There is a 250L group join fee, but it’s so worth it for the gifts that are sent out.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!  I have been so busy that blogging was not possible, so most of this stuff you have probably already seen on the feeds.  I just chose a few pieces and put my own spin on outfits.  Hopefully they aren’t a total *FAIL*.  :|

TODAY’s RAMBLING:
I’m trying to figure out why it took me 4 months to do a lingerie post! I love this one from Fishy Strawberry for the cute demi-cup top and the gorgeous corset. Dig the cute lacy details and it comes in a few different wear styles as well as layers so it’s all about the mixing and matching with this set.
As the year draws to a close, I find myself in a tiny slump. I don’t celebrate Christmas, so there isn’t much I look forward to this time of year. I’m going to be doing one more post before the end of the year, a year in review so to speak..so I’ll be saving all my words for then.

Wow! Thats all I can say. The christmas spirit is running rampant around the grid, and I am absolutely elated! First up.. 2 amazing skins, amazing gifts for group members…From Free Speerit and Belleza!!

On the left is the Maya Prototype skin from Free Speerit. I had seen this on the feed a few months back and messaged Desidelia Vella to find out when I could get my pixelated hands on it, so wasnt I delighted when I found that you could get 4 versions of it under her Christmas Tree at the shop! You get the Tan and pale versions in both natural and Glamour makeups.. Yummeh.

Then on the right you have A soon to be released skin from the always generous Tricky Boucher. This is Alyson in sunkiss and I love her. She has a young sweetness about her that I am fully squeeing over. I may have to resurrect my pole dancing skills in the seedy underbelly of the grid to get some lindens… I’m feeling the need for fatpacks here…

Next up is an uber cute necklace set from 50L fridays from Urbanity. Silly me decided to blog it AFTER I foldered the other 1/2 with a sweet little love note for my bestie as a Christmas Gift, so I only have part of it. (ps…dont tell Steph about her gift.. she hasnt logged in yet )

Anyhow… The idea of this necklace set is so cute and not anything I’ve seen on the grid before, so I was so immediately drawn to it! Its 2 necklaces(one for you and one for a friend or lover) and  when you put them together they are the metaverse symbol of love.. < 3.. I kept the 3 for myself and gave Boo Boo the <

I have never been one for a red and green at christmas… in fact.. I can’t stand it. The colors clash and kinda make a me a little nauseous, so I opt for wintery things, and things that keep me cozy! My outfit is made of mostly inexpensive things or things that were given out as group gifts. The one thing that costs over 50L are the boots…but they work really well with the outfit, and I love them

TODAY’s RAMBLINGS:
Look Mommy! I finally became a Ballerina! All those years of lesson were not a waste, umm.. sorta! Heh! What can i say.. Claire Dallin (of Slash Me Poses) and Jacqueline Cliassi (of Skream!) did it again. This very adorable jewelry box called “My Big Box” comes in 5 different colors (classic wood, cotton candy, mother pearl, onyx delight and pretty princess) with 4 built-in poses with a drop down menu. I chose to do my favorite 2 poses for the moment, mostly because i thought they were the most adorable! I got a chance to talk to Claire about this project and she hinted that there will be more collaboratives as well as pose props like the previously released “In My Room” chair and this jewelry box in the works. I can’t wait to check them out!
My only regret is that my photo skills aren’t better so I can truly show-off how adorable and cute this jewelry box really is!

As for the clothes.. it’s just me, being me. Nerdy but kinda cute
Quick note, my cute pink pants are by Mijn Seoung of Mijn.T, unfortunately, the sim that hosted the store is being sold, so Mijn is still looking for a new location. There’s no SLurl for her stuff at the moment, but you can always stalk Mijn’s profile to see if she’s found a spot yet!

I had a conversation with a friend today about past loves and regrets. How long can we really hold onto a memory of a love lost?  When does it get to the point where it’s not ok anymore to contact that past love, if only to just apologize and thank them for the memories you’ve shared.  She still thinks of an ex and regrets the ending they had and was toying with the idea of contacting him, risking possibly her present relationship and his if he were in one. After throwing around suggestions, one of which was to let it go and leave it where it is, I started to honestly think of my past failed relationships and those I still think of more than I care to admit.

Recently, I did a blog post where I remembered my ex and after over a year of not speaking to him, I sent him the link. I wasnt sure if I was blocked or if he even wanted to hear from me, but I sent it regardless. Despite the awful ending we had and the few months of arguing that followed, we had a connection that sometimes surprised even me, and now when I think of us, I do remember the good.  He answered me a few days later, thanking me for the sentiment, and said he thought about me more often than I probably realized. And they were good thoughts. Sometimes I miss him and what we had, though I’m not looking to rekindle a relationship with him, or even a friendship, but in that 2min IM we had, I smiled and set aside all anger and remembered him as a man.. I once loved.

Yes, you’re on the right blog. Once you’re done with the “ho, ho, ho” I’d kindly remind you that Christmas stockings are quite the tradition, and it’s one I intend to uphold for the festive season.

Camilla Yosuke of Insolence kindly sent me her latest lingerie set for review. While I don’t usually stalk the grid in my underthings, in the privacy of my own diamond room (more on that later) I feel quite within my rights. Besides, I’m a closet admirer of all the lacy negligee Insolence has to offer, so it would seem foolish not to use this as an excuse to make an exhibition of myself.

Deborah is an exquisite combination of embroidered satin overlaid with lace in a set that comprises bra, knickers, suspender belt and four pairs of stockings. It was difficult to pick from the six colours, but (black and) red felt the most festive, so that’s what you’re looking at. The bra’s floral balconette cups offer good coverage, the lace trim creating a tiny edge to the lower side and a more generous scallop across the breasts. Slver bows fix the cups to the straps with a central ribbon to keep consistency: this is mimicked on the suspender belt and knickers which also feature front lace panels linked to more satin, the high-leg panties concealing enough of your behind to stay sexy without giving everything away. As you would expect from a seamstress with years of experience in virtual underwear, the detailing is immense and immaculate. For the record they are transferable, so you may want to put in last minute orders with your nearest and dearest if you’re smitten.

If you’re indulging in the lingerie department, you may as well go the whole hog and locate a good stage for your modelling shennanigans. The perfect solution comes from Glitterati; a rezzable room strewn with more diamonds than the latest celebrity engagement ring. The ultimate in ostentatious display cabinets, this Diamond Room comes complete with some 15 poses which can be repositioned to suit a taller or shorter av: standing, sitting, crouching and full bodily adoration of the central stone. This is fantastic fun and is excellent for shooting anything from flashy gowns to the latest footwear. Back to the clothes: the latest release from 5th & Oxford demanded display here, and so I drew on these long leather gloves. They come in various luxuriant colours, all just as rich and neatly textured, and also in two shorter lengths which would suit a less showy outfit. There is a little seamage on the long pair due to the nature of the creasing, but nothing that caused me any concern: to the contrary I’m quite delighted with them. Good gloves are surprisingly hard to come by in the metaverse and these are certainly up there with the best.

The shoes are from Fri.day, a pair of stilettos which I chose for the colour match with the gloves. They’re a classic style that doesn’t remove attention from anywhere else – being brutally honest, do you really want folk staring at your feet when you’re standing there half naked? Make a shrewd investment in something conservative to keep their eyes on the prize. You’ll thank me for it later.

Because everyone likes a little thoughtful giftwrapping, this satin bow from DeLa really rounds off nicely. The neck tie droops at the knot in a perfect understatement, adding to rather than taking away from the rest of the outfit.

Sexy hair is crucial to a look like this, and this new release from Truth fulfils that requirement perfectly. Straight, sleek hair folds out from an off-centre part, curling in subtle feathers towards the face, falling long and stopping just above the chest. All the hair pulls around to the front leaving the back completely exposed, flyaway strands teased from the body and bringing the whole thing to life.

As I don’t usually flash quite so much flesh, you may as well take the opportunity to take a good look at Belleza’s Belle skin, a firm favourite in my inventory. With a gorgeous range of makeups and the combination of an intricate eye tattoo and vampy red lips made this the obvious choice. Belle has been a long-standing favourite of mine and I can’t fault any aspect of the face or body: the shading is subtle but relevant, very soft without seeming washed out. I think the pale tone somehow lends to a sense of vulnerability, so whether you’re baring all or nothing, you can be sure you’ll feel quite exquisitely feminine.

I complimented the unusual eye makeup with eyelashes by Calla. I’m a little frustrated as I didn’t manage to capture them as clearly as I would have liked (do click through the second image for a bigger capture), but take my word for it when I tell you they are fabulous. Tigerlily Koi has done a brilliant job on her entire range, creating vastly different styles that range from seductive to outrageous. The lashes give a healthy dose of drama, curling wide and laying at different lengths, each one closed with a spheric cap. A must-have showpiece.

Last but not least, Curio’s stunning Tragic Eyes provided a light contrast to the rest of the style. I have these in a dozen shades because they are so darn good, hauntingly expressive even at a distance. They come in three sizes and with prim and non-prim attaches to suit all tastes, so you really can’t go far wrong.

Since it’s the big day tomorrow I’ll be taking a healthy dose of real life and won’t be making my usual Friday stop in. May all your presents be shiny and bright: I wish you an enjoyably over-indulgent Christmas!

The colors of Modern Gypsy’s new winter collection are red, black and white. They are such powerful colors – passionate and bold and perfect, of course, for the strong patterns and shapes of these designs. I confess to absolute infatuation. This dress is particularly entrancing. It’s a beautiful and elegant cocktail gown – yet the top layer of the skirt fabric makes me think of light reflecting on a roadway. The way the white seems to glitter out of focus like the lights reflected on a wet street.  So much beauty – and yet evoking such a gritty image.

I thought Maitreya’s Shanti shoes with the ribbon lacing would echo the sash beautifully.

The jewelry is from Dahlinks and the gloves are old ones from Fleur (now 5th & Oxford). Roslin has been working on gloves and will soon be releasing some suede gloves so keep your eyes open for them. She makes the best formal gloves on the grid.  UPDATE: 5th & Oxford have released their gloves and even have them set for gift giving!!
