…this fantastic outfit from the Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2010 collection. There are so many things right with this coat I couldn’t possibly list them all, but put it this way, ‘fur’ (faux, of course) and ‘trench’ should tick two priority boxes when searching for winter wardrobe additions. And although it’s not a new trend, I just love how the trench has been closed with the leather belt. I do this with most of my coats; it can give an old classic a new lease of life and combining a tough leather belt with softer fabrics adds dimension to the look. Oh, I think I’m becoming a bit of a Burberry obsessive. Sigh.

Today was a pretty boring and basic outfit, so I spruced it up with my leopard shoes. I love how leopard and red accent each other so well. I had a very busy day with lots of meetings and wanted to be comfortable. I also needed good stable shoes because yesterday I ran for 3 miles. This was my longest run since my knee injury. I just haven’t been able to shake the pain and was excited about the extra distance. My knee was sore this morning. I do love these shoes though. I should wear them more often. They were the first pair of heels that I bought after having foot surgery in February of 2007. I was so afraid that I wouldn’t be able to wear heels again. Luckily I recovered well. I also searched long and hard for a pair of leopard shoes that seemed to be a great fit for me.

I am excited that this is a short work week and have a lot to do to prepare for Thanksgiving. Welcome Holidays!!!

Sweater Dresses

In my last Fashion Diary (Fashion Diary #7), I declared my love of sweaters. Now, I’d like to declare my love of Sweater Dresses!

Being a girl, I tend to find dresses completely comfortable, stylish, and versatile. However, I live in Wisconsin. This means that “Dress Season” basically lasts about 1-2 months of the year before it gets too darn freezing to even consider baring those legs. So, what’s a girl to do???

Bring out the Sweater Dress!

A good Sweater Dress is comfortable, cozy, and makes it so simple to create multiple different looks!

In the first photo, I have a bit more of a “rocker” look. The boots, bangle bracelets, and crimped hair are the focal points, and the dress merely accents my choices.

In the second photo,I have a more relaxed, casual, workplace style. The dress now becomes the focal point, as the the belt, leggings, and knit flats adorn the Sweater Dress.

Either way, you are getting two unique, stylish looks that work well in almost any setting!

I liked that description very much. I felt Mod in a good way. Today’s real inspiration came from two sources. First the ladies over at the B/C Changeover are doing a no fear challenge and are wearing those things in the closet that don’t get a lot of use. It inspired me to not just look through my closet, but to clean out my closet last night. As I was cleaning out my closet, I came across the patterned blouse that I love but rarely wear because it is very unstructured and the bow doesn’t always work. The other part of this outfit was inspired by Danielle at Fell 4 Fashion. She has this little black dress that is similar to my dress in the pleating and the belting. She often wears different shirts under it and it looks amazing! I decided to try it because of this look. I added the belt for some extra structure. I loved how this look came out.

Extra bonus – when cleaning out my closet – I found my glasses!! Yay for wearing scratch free glasses to see!

My newest opera singer obsession: Dorothea Röschmann

After watching many clips of her singing, I trolled around the “Related Videos” and wandered into crossover territory. One of the blogs I read also posted this yesterday:

I watched a few of Sam Tsui’s other videos, and I was once again reminded that in performance, most people are wowed by belting and vocal fireworks. While fun and occasionally impressive, what really matters is what happens in the verses, in the middle-range, in the text. What I got from the performer above and from too many crossover artists was a lot of screaming and not enough relating to the words they were singing. Every word matters. Technique is a given in performance. If you don’t have it, you’re screwed. But once you can hit the high note, or pull off the run, or make it through the impossibly long phrase, what’s left? What’s beneath the glossy exterior? Do you have anything interesting to say, or is it just sounds and vocal acrobatics?

Now, lest you think I’m down on belting entirely, I want to be clear that I heartily enjoy musical theatre, and I respect a good pop star in the right context. Here is the same performer in episode 1 of a thoroughly enjoyable original musical series:

Let’s see what Carrie decides to do…take the devils money, or cash in and blaze new trials as a christian porno actress. Today, singing star, actress, and all around sex goddess, Carmen Electra stepped up to the plate and has leaked her own private porno sex tape, but hers is not a solo affair.

I give it 8 out of 10 stars, because of its tameness.

What it does mean is that the search for it will on the internet will make her the queen of internet searches for a few days, which should help promote the sale of her upcoming movie or book release. Electra, 37, can be seen wearing nothing but black high heels, stockings, panties, a red bra and a diamond-studded choker in a new short posted on website NucleonForce.com.

Just note that even though it is tame,it is not safe for work,NFSW, so proceed at your own risk, but do check it out if you want to confirm my review. You may need to hurry, because, just to make it look good,like an actual leak, I am sure that her ‘people’ and attorneys will take it down quickly, after getting the necessary decease and desist orders, but…they all know that it is still retrievable by those in the know.

Once it’s up, it is almost impossible to totally delete from the massive internet sites that have most certainly copied it in several places on the web.

The most interesting one out of any leaked sex tape that I have been forced to review as a ‘journalist’ comes from newcomers Miss Japan 2008 Miroko Mima and Miss Trinidad & Tobago Anya Ayoung-Chee who both met and competed in the 2008 Miss Universe pageant with Carrie Prejean.

This one features adults involved in unspeakable acts of passion and intamacy-all in a three-way with a gentleman rumored to be Miss Trinidad and Tobago’s former boyfriend. How he messed that relationship up, is amazing to me, because these two beauties seem like the coolest duo on the planet.

I can not even begin to explain the situation in words, so I will link this article to the fellow blogger who has it posted on their site. Be warned…this is totally XXX rated and thoroughly NSFW, so wait until you get home.

Do not be too curious, because why mess up a good gig over some prurient entertainment, unless of course, your job is to report on such news for a blog or other legitimate news reporting services.

I predict the two of them will be famous, but that Miss Trinidad and Tobago is flat-out beautiful. She will have an extensive career in front of the cameras, so do not be mad at her.

I give this one 15 stars out of 10, and the leaked tape speaks for itself.

It is being reported that the action was stolen off of her Miss Trinidad’s former boyfriend’s laptop, when he left it at a computer repair shop. That sounds to me like a lie, because we all know that most people delete their porn from their desktop before leaving it at a repair shop,….at least I do.

I am obviously joking here with all of this, but it is amazing to me that there are so many high-profile people out there that film themselves having illicit sex. Carrie Prejean claims that she just wanted to give her boyfriend a gift, and I have heard that before many times from young girls.

I know when I bring gifts to an intimate female companion, I better show up with some flowers and merchandise if I plan on coming back. A sex tape will not cut it for the women I know, …but it would be great for them to make one and give it to me.

I just would not be in it. Unfortunetly this does send out the wrong message to all the little girls out there that want to become celebrities. It seems as though that a ‘leaked’ sex tape is going to be mandatory for young lady to rise to fame and popularity in today’s culture.

The viral nature of just such an exhibition has worked wonders for many of todays starlets and that might be a double-edged sword.

I expect a lot of self righteous declarations of piousness to be espoused in reaction to this sexual exploitation in our culture, and I discourage any of my relatives to go down this path,so I do not have to be exposed to it.

But, the reality of it is, is that it is not illegal if the parties are of age and consenting adults, it’s just inadvisable.

I recommend a bit of discretion, but I do understand the pressure that we in Hollywood put on the female stars to stay relevant, and to be noticed.

If you are related to me, I suggest you make something eles for your boyfriend…

Proceed with caution….as I call to book my one way ticket to Trinidad and Tobago with a layover in Japan!!!
