So, I had nothing to do last Friday for a change. This was an unusual but happy situation as I didn’t think my body could take anymore punishment after the last couple of weeks. Eventually though, I had my arm twisted to go and watch Hexstatic, mainly because it was free.

Unfortunately, Hexstatic were pretty rubbish and about 15 minutes into the set the visuals were failing (one of the main reasons for going). So what else could we do? Well how about Chew the Fat? Album Launch Party for Fake Blood at Cable Club? Not far from the South Bank! And it won’t be full of fucking wanker-bankers – Safe! So 20 minutes later and many failed attempts by the taxi driver to locate the club, we were there.

As you stroll (there’s never any queues at 1 in the morning) through the entrance of Cable Club and pass the strange but  friendly bouncer,  you walk into what can only be described as the industrial Dubstep-playground that is Room 2. The DJ at the time, whose name I still haven’t been able to discover was absolutely smashing it. So the perfect welcome, it was probably going to be a good night.

After geeking out for ages, we managed to catch the last 40 minutes of Fake Blood’s set. Then Evil Nine took the reigns and promptly destroyed it with a choice selection of killer tracks that had the whole place in rapture, including Dj Kue’s remix of Sabotage. Although it’s not the best remix, it still had every groupie in the club dripping off the DJ booth. Class.

The Bang Gang lads are probably more well known for their mixes than their REmixes, but let it be known they dabble in that fine art of chopping and changing tracks to make them better (or worse) for dance-floor destruction. The following two remixes found no official release for whatever reason (in one’s case probably because there are already 400 remixes out there), but deserve to be listened by you. I love the winding synth in on the “Shoes” remix and the “Maximus” re-work follows a similar tact. Jump on their blog if you really dig the tracks and you may be able to sniff out some higher quality versions.

La encuestadora Ipsos Apoyo, Opinión y Mercado, en un sondeo de intención de voto publicado el lunes por el diario La Razón, dijo que Morales obtendría el 55 por ciento de los sufragios, tres puntos porcentuales más que lo pronosticado por la misma firma hace un mes y 37 puntos por encima del segundo.

La misma votación, excluidos los sufragios blancos y nulos según dispone la ley electoral, daría a Morales un respaldo efectivo del 64 por ciento, frente a un 21 por ciento del segundo más votado que sería el derechista ex prefecto regional Manfred Reyes Villa.

El pronóstico de Ipsos Apoyo sigue la línea de otros estudios, entre ellos uno de Equipos Mori y otro de la cadena privada de televisión Unitel, que el mes pasado dijeron que el presidente izquierdista, un aliado del venezolano Hugo Chávez, sería reelegido con el 63 por ciento de los votos válidos.

Tredici anni fa, oltre un milione di cittadini firmarono la petizione che chiedeva al Parlamento di approvare la legge per l’uso sociale dei beni confiscati alle mafie. L’Associazione Culturale Mondo di Carta, l’Associazione Volano Laboratorio Culturale, il Circolo AUSER Insieme, il Gruppo Amici del Libro, l’Orchestra Giovanile Diego Valeri, la Nazionale Italiana Cantanti NIC, Avviso Pubblico e Libera, in collaborazione con il Comune di Campolongo Maggiore (Venezia), promuovono la seconda edizione del Concorso per l’assegnazione di una Borsa di Studio dedicata a Cristina Pavesi, vittima della mafia.

“Libera. Associazioni, nomi e numeri contro le mafie” è nata il 25 marzo 1995 con l’intento di sollecitare la società civile nella lotta alle mafie e promuovere legalità e giustizia. Attualmente Libera è un coordinamento di oltre 1500 associazioni, gruppi, scuole, realtà di base, territorialmente impegnate per costruire sinergie politico-culturali e organizzative capaci di diffondere la cultura della legalità. La legge sull’uso sociale dei beni confiscati alle mafie, l’educazione alla legalità democratica, l’impegno contro la corruzione, i campi di formazione antimafia, i progetti sul lavoro e lo sviluppo, le attività antiusura, sono alcuni dei concreti impegni di Libera. Libera è riconosciuta come associazione di promozione sociale dal Ministero della Solidarietà Sociale. Nel 2008 è stata inserita dall’Eurispes tra le eccellenze italiane.

Agenti della Direzione investigativa antimafia di Napoli stanno eseguendo in tutta Italia sequestri patrimoniali, su decreto della Sezione misure di prevenzione del Tribunale di Santa Maria Capua Vetere, a carico di persone ritenute riciclatori per conto del clan dei Casalesi. Secondo quanto si è appreso si tratta di imprenditori che esercitano non solo nel Casertano ma in molte regioni italiane.

I beni sequestrati dalla Dia di Napoli (nella disponibilità attraverso prestanome delle famiglie Belforte, Bidognetti e Zagaria) ammontano a oltre 120 milioni di euro, di cui 2 milioni in contanti. L’operazione, detta «Faraone», in particolare ha individuato soggetti vicini al clan che per riciclare il denaro acquistavano in aste giudiziarie proprietà anche per legittimare il possesso di beni di lusso nonostante una situazione di reddito non agiata.

Molti degli imprenditori destinatari della misura di sequestro in passato erano già stati coinvolti in indagini di camorra e persino destinatari di ordini di custodia cautelare.
In particolare, a Salvatore Partaglione, ritenuto vicono al clan Belforte, è stata sequestrata in Sardegna una villa di 2mila metri quadrati a Porto San Paolo, in costruzione.

Sequestro di una villa anche per Luigi Tamburrino, considerato vicino alla fazione del clan dei Casalesi che fa capo a Francesco Bidognetti, il boss detenuto. Inoltre, 39 appartamenti, 43 garages, 17 società, 52 rapporti finanziari e una villa con parco e piscina di quasi 5mila metri quadrati in una zona panoramica di Caserta, località Vaccheria.

Idem per l’azienda bufalina con terreno, 8 ettari e oltre 2000 capi di bestiame fino al 2005, a Selvalunga, nel Grazzanise, dove Walter e Francesco Schiavone (Sandokan, boss dei Casalesi) hanno fatto il bello e il cattivo tempo.

«Con l’approvazione di questo emendamento è tradito l’impegno assunto con il milione di cittadini che nel ‘96 firmarono la proposta di legge sull’uso sociale dei beni confiscati alla mafia – dice Don Ciotti -.

Inoltre, il Cnel, nelle «osservazioni e proposte» del 29 marzo 2007 ribadiva la necessità di «affidare a una nuova struttura, specializzata ed avente solo tale funzione, il compito di gestire il transito dei beni dalla confisca alla collettività, dotando la stessa di poteri, finanziamenti e personale tecnico e specialistico necessario».

Si legge: «Il punto critico attiene proprio alla particolare origine dei beni, che sono divenuti demaniali per effetto dell’azione di prevenzione; tale origine determina la continua pressione della criminalità destinataria dei provvedimenti, tesa al recupero dei beni o, quantomeno, a renderli inutilizzabili, in un’ottica che suona come aperta sfida alle istituzioni incaricate di affermare la sovranità delle ragioni democratiche».

KIRA☆KIRA☆ sure has grown on me since BITTER & SWEET. I guess now I’ve taken time to listen to it more, and I’ve come to really like it. Sure it wasn’t the best song off of the album (you should’ve done Beautiful World, gurl!) but I got over it. It has a cuteness about it, and I liked the chill atmosphere it had. BENI, of course, sounded really nice with the low-key instrumental. And what’s this? A new single in January!? GET IT, BB.

Oh boy… remixes. I didn’t like the DJ HASEBE REMIX of Zutto Futari de or the CLUB MIX of Koi Kogarete. The first remix sounded really weird with BENI’s vocals and it just didn’t seem to flow right with the loud beat and random guitar riffs. And the second remix was really annoying. I didn’t like the way her voice was sped up, since it had that weird thing it makes if vocals are sped up. At least the A-side is good?

Concerning this single…all I ask is WHYYYYYYYYYYY? Okay, I know why KIRA☆KIRA☆ was chosen to be a recut single (it was voted by fans) but still, I think it was a poor choice. That’s just my personal view though since I thought it was one of the weaker tracks on the Bitter & Sweet album. I don’t really remember it either, except for those English lines (you bring to me kira kira) and the catchy chorus.

At least the single includes some extra tracks. The remixes of Zutto Futari de and Koi Kogarete aren’t bad actually. They work in making two mid-tempo songs sound more interesting at least.

Pros: The remixes???
Cons: A weak release…and any other new track from the album would have made a better A-side (Beautiful World plz).

01: Kira☆Kira☆ – I’m starting off with saying that I love the cover art, very sparkly and pretty, I really couldn’t care less what people think I like it regardless. This song though I enjoyed a lot on the album and in my opinion is still just as awesome as it was on the album, nothing has changed. I loved BENI’s vocal performance which was pretty lovely with the constant high and smooth pitches from her tones. The arrangement is r&b which I’m a huge fan of it even when I die and go to the heavens. This song all in all is still pretty amazing, the chorus is my favorite part of this song.

02: Zutto Futari de (DJ HASEBE REMIX) – As soon as this next track started, SWV’s song Love Will Be Right Here started popping into my head which I love with my heart and is one of my favorite songs from them but back to this remix, I thought it was actually good although not that many people like this I guess I would probably the oddball and wind up liking this remix although I don’t like it as much as the original version just to not get completely carried away. BENI’s vocals were still pretty good but I felt that the emotion wasn’t really there so that’s a negative for this song. This remix was all right but in all honestly the original version was much better.

03: Koi Kogarete (Club Mix) - Come on now! It’s a club mix, why is it so mid-tempo? I was expecting this remix to be more upbeat but all I got here was just a entirely too bland arrangement although nearly lively in the chorus but let’s be honest, this club mix isn’t doing anything for me. BENI’s vocals sound the same as the original version only bumped up a bit to go with the flow of the beat. I didn’t like this song and I don’t know why she decided to do a remix to this song, it was perfectly fine since the original version is much better than this lame and uninspired club mix.

My opinions & thoughts on this single from BENI: In all honestly, this single could have been better. I’m a pretty new fan to BENI since I just started liking her ever since yesterday when I heard her Bitter & Sweet album which I’m going to say is her best album so far since I haven’t really heard her older stuff in her career. She really has impressed me with that album but this single honestly was pretty decent since the a-side Kira*Kira* was the only song from here that I actually cared for and loved to death. This single all in all was pretty decent but seriously the a-side was the only that I enjoyed along with its instrumental.

Kitsuné is probably one of the sickest labels around. From music to clothing to design, they’ve got a number of things on lock. I’ve only been following the label since the 6th compilation, so I might not have the history as some of you, but in my opinion this 8th compilation is the bees mf knees.

The Kitsuné Maison Compilation 8 dropped digitally out in Europe yesterday (November 16) and is now available for everyone else here. The comp offers up a ton of good tunes from the likes of Siriusmo, Midnight Juggernauts, Heartsrevolution, Two Door Cinema Club (amazing new Kitsuné signee), Moulinex, Harvard Bass, Delphic, Memory Tapes, Crystal Fighters, etc etc etc.

As you can probably piece together, this thing is stacked and it would really be a shame to not pick up a copy of the album for yourself. I’ve been trying to figure out which tracks to denote as my “favorites”, but it’s proven difficult, as every song offers up something tasty. However, I can safely say that the new Heartsrevolution, Delphic, Two Door Cinema Club, Logo and My Tiger My Timing tracks are up there on my list.

I limiti riguardano invece la mancanza di precise convenzioni con il Venezuela dove il sequestro preventivo dei beni e dei conti correnti non sarebbe contemplato, anche se le normative internazionali sono molto complesse e potrebbero comunque lasciare spazio a qualche misura coercitiva.

Si tratta di un braccio di ferro la cui conseguenza diretta e immediata ha portato allo stallo delle trattative, reso ancor più problematico dal fatto che la banda che tiene in ostaggio Armellin agisce al di fuori dei confini di stato venezuelani, nel territorio delle Forze armate rivoluzionarie colombiane (Farc), una terra di nessuno nella quale l’interferenza della legge è praticamente nulla e dove un intervento della polizia venezuelana è impraticabile.
