<p><strong>A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity</strong> in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web. WebQuests are designed to use learners&#8217; time well,<strong> to focus on using information rather than looking for it</strong>, and to support learners&#8217; thinking at the levels of <strong>analysis, synthesis and evaluation</strong>. The model was developed in early 1995 at San Diego State University by Bernie Dodge with Tom March.</p>
<p>In this class, you will learn:<br />
•    The difference between short and long term WebQuests<br />
•    The critical attributes of a WebQuest<br />
•    The thinking skills necessary to complete a WebQuest<br />
•    The forms WebQuests take<br />
•    The steps in a WebQuest<br />
•    The evaluation of WebQuests</p>
<p>Participants experience a WebQuest as students and then will be guided to Internet sites that help them locate existing WebQuests that can be used in the classroom.  Finally, with the instructor&#8217;s help, they will begin working on evaluating WebQuests for use in their classrooms.</p>
<p><strong>PREREQUISITES:  Participants must have basic computer skills</strong>&#8211;know how to save, cut, copy, and paste; navigate the menu bar; open and close windows; and be able to use a browser to access the Internet.</p>

<p>El modelo de Webquest fue desarrollado por <a href="http://www.eduteka.org/reportaje.php3?ReportID=0011">Bernie Dodge </a>en 1995 que lo definió como una actividad orientada a la investigación donde toda o casi toda la información que se utiliza procede de recursos de la Web.</p>
<p>Una Webquest se construye alrededor de una tarea atractiva que provoca procesos de pensamiento superior. Se trata de hacer algo con la información. El pensamiento puede ser creativo o crítico e implicar la resolución de problemas, enuciación de juicios, análisis o síntesis. La tarea debe consistir en algo más que en contestar a simples preguntas o reproducir lo que hay en la pantalla. Idealmente, se debe corresponder con algo que en la vida normal hacen los adultos fuera de la escuela.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">ELEMENTOS DE UNA WEBQUEST</span><span style="color:#ff0000;">:</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>INTRODUCCIÓN</strong></span>: Establece el marco y aporta alguna información antecedente.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>TAREA</strong></span>: El resultado final de la actividad que los alumnos van a llevar a cabo.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>PROCESO</strong></span>: Descripción de los pasos a seguir para llevar a cabo las tareas. Incluye los recursos y el andamiaje.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>RECURSOS</strong></span>: Selección de enlaces a los sitios de interés para encontrar la información relevante. Este apartado forma parte del proceso.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>EVALUACIÓN</strong></span>: Explicación de cómo será evaluada la realización de la tarea.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>ORIENTACIONES</strong></span>: Recuerda lo que se ha aprendido y anima a continuar con el aprendizaje.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">TIPOS DE WEBQUEST</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Corta duración</span>: Tiene como objetivo la adquisición y organización del conocimiento y dura de una a tres sesiones.</li>
<li><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Larga duración</span>: Tiene como objetivo la extensión y procesamiento del conocimiento y dura entre una semana y un mes de clase.</li>
<li><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Miniquest</span>: Versión reducida y dura una sesión de clase.</li>
