Workers at the Beru factory in Tralee remain in limbo this evening as they continue to wait on announcement on the plant’s future. Earlier, the staff in the Monavalley Industrial Estate factory were called into a meeting where they were told no decision has yet been made by the company.

At three o’clock yesterday afternoon manager of the Beru factory in Tralee, Paddy Lange, called workers into a meeting which had been scheduled since last week. It followed a cost evaluation of the companies operations in Tralee and at its Ludwigsburgh plant in Germany. The company, which makes blow-plugs for leading car manufacturers, employs 202 people, has been in Tralee since 1986.

In April 20 voluntary redunadancies were sought by the company and this was agreed to in recent weeks at the Labour Relations Commission. However, Mr Lange said a decision either way on the future of Beru in Tralee has not yet been decided upon by company management adding that another meeting may be called in the coming days.

Formula 1 engineering firm BERU is currently working on the The Factor001, a pedal-powered speedster that is being touted as the world’s most advanced bicycle. They’d all be on this new bike from BERU of Formula 1 fame.  With a carbon chassis, ceramic brakes and a sophisticated system to store biometric data, the Factor 001 is  being heralded as the most advanced bike.  Ever.

And why won’t hipsters be riding this?  Well with a $27,000 price tag, it’s more of a museum piece.  And at only 15 pounds, it’ll be easy to hang on a wall.

It’s not the prettiest thing in my opinion, but ceramic brakes!

C’est une excellente journée qui a comencé par un éclat de rire à 6h30 du matin dans l’arret de bus: je me suis rappelé qu’en fait je ne devais pas bossé aujourd’hui… du coup j’ai bien dormis

Le seul élément qui a réussit à entaché cette magnifique journée  c’est l’impossibilité de transféré un PDF en DOC…Problème récurrent en informatique que sont ces problèmes de formats dont je ne comprends pas le début d’une quelquonque utilité si ce n’est de nous faire emmerdé puisque de toute façon on ne vas pas acheter TOUS les logiciels necessaires….Vive l’OPEN SOURCE…quand ça marche

Pour la partie “poetique”, j’ai bien aimé quand une “p’tite vielle”, inconnue au bataillons, est venue frappé à ma fenètre pour me souhaiter la bonne année (!) en me félicitant pour mes gout musicaux qui lui donne toujours envies de danser lorsque passe de ma fenètre (!!)….m’est avis qu’elle est pas souvent passé quand j’écoutais les Béru
ou alors c”est peut être une “petite agitée”,
