… when you think of the butterflies in your stomach last year and smile about it now

… when the anticipation, anxiety, and a whole flurry of emotions last year gathered u so tight, it was difficult to breathe after a while..

… when the presence of some blessed souls around you (you know who you are ) made the journey leading to the final steps a lottttttt easier!

… when you hated the fact that you were born a daughter and have to “so-called” leave your house for your husband’s! Well I still rant about it… poor Noobie!

… when you started questioning a lot of Indian customs like “kanyadaan”… and the sanity of the same… and also why people are following it so religiously… refusing to budge!? Am I the only one who feels so strongly about it?

… when new people, strange people… became family… and welcomed me to my new home… with warm smiles on their faces and arms wide open

Yes… it is that month of the year, which engulfs me with all kinds of emotions! Some bad… most good And I still cant believe it has been a year already! The date has not yet come.. But, I doubt Ill be able to blog on The Day!! Hence, celebrating the Anniversary month here Hence, the theme.. and the header

On Wednesday 11/4/2009 during that beautiful aftetrnoon a lady very dear to my heart past away. Her name was Beverly Thomas Tuitt She was a Harlem School of nursing Graduate. She was like an Aunt to me along with all the Nurses of that class with my Mother.   All the nurses of that class rasied me up from when I was 2 years old while my mom finished school.

When my mother past away a few years back I guess I adopted Bevie(as she was affectionately known) and she adopted me. We watched out for each health wise and just in general. When I needed a place for a while she gladly took me in and when I got sick she was by my side as  I for her when she was sick.
This last time I kind of feel like I let her down though.   She was in the Hospital and I was not there in time to say good bye or just hold her hand.  I did see her the sunday before and she looked great thought she was on the mend again.  She was tough you see she was a 32 year cancer survivor.  But the chemotherapy and radiation and operations all took there toll on her.   she just couldn’t win this fight sorry to say. But Sunday she was confident sitting up joking told me she had a few more years maybe. It was close I thought she was on the mend as well. Just did not work out that way.

She was however a great believer in business practices of supporting your friends and family in business. She was the rally person with emails and word of mouth you need car or truck call my nephew Courtney he will help you out. Or hey all my friend and nursing school buddy just wrote a book we need to buy it and support her first book let people see it so she can sell more.  Always the ra ra never give up.  She was great and she will be missed by me and her Family.  God bless you Beverly Thomas-Tuitt tell mom I say hey and I love you both.

It was in the garbage can because there’s a new policy that says no signs of any sort are permitted inside the stadium. Even signs sending best wishes to husbands in Afghanistan.

Had unceremoniously disappeared from the blogging scene.. Did not even get a chance to reply to all your wonderful comments… A lot had been going on…

• This was the first Diwali after wedding. I was super excited about making Rangoli for the first time in our new home… and what followed was a disaster.. More on that later…
• Last two weeks before Diwali were filled with tons and tons of office work which kept me occupied throughout…
• Soon after Diwali, I left for India to spend some time with my Parents

Right now, m in Ahmedabad… having an awesome time with my parents and sis

Will get back to the blogosphere with a bang soon!!

Elly and I are celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary today (actually we’ll celebrate on Saturday… today we are both working, she overtime while she subs for one of her instructors in an evening class, and I am finishing my day working on Search Engine Optimizations for one client by heading to Full Circle Theater to run lights tonite on dress rehearsal.)

31 years… that’s quite a while… and while we’ve had the kind of ups and downs that I guess most people go through, we’ve managed to come this far an still be together,

So I wish Elly a Happy Anniversary: You are my one and only and I’d be nothing without you.
