A burglar broke into a Christian Family’s home one night.

He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables; when he heard, a strange voice echoing from the dark saying, ‘Jesus is watching you.’ He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight off, and froze.

Rice, milk and soy milk sound healthy and good for you, but you are aware that these drinks are not really good for the health of infants and children? Rice, milk and soy milk should never be with or as a substitute for whole milk and weaning should not be confused as a substitute for breast milk or fortified infant formula be used. In reality, most Americans probably know of Oral Roberts through a combination of his intended and unintended media exposure. Roberts frequently attracted controversy. Most famously, he became known for claiming to receive a vision of a 900 foot Jesus instructing them to build the City of Faith and, when hard times hit his empire, telling his followers that if a sufficient amount of gifts was not received within a specified amount of time, God would end his life. In 1987, Roberts became the focus of intense scrutiny in light of claims made by his ministry that a dead person had been brought to life.

In the end, however, Oral Roberts should be measured by his message. Though his claims of visions and healings drew deserved attention, along with both scrutiny and embarrassment, it was the core of his message that is most problematic. In his prime years, Roberts was the most significant agent for prosperity theology.

Prosperity theology teaches that God promises his people financial gain and bodily health. It is a false Gospel that turns the Gospel of Christ upside-down. The true Gospel offers forgiveness of sins and leads to a life of discipleship. Following Christ demands poverty more often than wealth, and we are not promised relief from physical ills, injury, sickness, or death. Christians die along with all other mortals, but we are promised the gift of eternal life in Christ…

…But the greatest tragedy in all this is the perpetuation of prosperity theology, passed on by Oral Roberts to a new generation. I am thankful for every sinner who came to know the Gospel of Christ through the preaching of Oral Roberts, and I heard him preach about salvation in ways that were true and powerful. But I can only lament the prosperity theology that he leaves in his long shadow.

The only thing I would question is that Oral Roberts ever preached a true and powerful Gospel. How could it be if the faith that he preached was more akin to magic?

We must also be honest. The typical SBC’er, Mohler’s denomination, believes in the properity Gospel, too. It is far more sublte, but just as deadly. The SBC’s core theology is one of a modernistic pragmatic paradigm that offers personal prosperity and things like national security if rules are followed, tithes are paid, power prayers made, righteous methods are applied, and if one engages in social reform activism. In short, both the bizarre health and wealth Gospel and other “conservative” mainline prosperity Gospels are all based upon the “if only” of idealism. Far from being an aberration of Pop American Theologies, Roberts brand of PHWG(prosperity, health/wealth Gospel) is quite like that held by the mainstream SBC’er. The SBC’s icons, such as Elmer Townes and Henry Blackaby, testify amply to the manipulative, experiential, orientation of Southern Baptist’s Methodistic beliefs. Oral Roberts’ prosperity Gospel was just another bird in the same flock of performance/reward pop-christian theology, an early forerunner of the current Emergent diminution of biblical truth. For the typical SBC’er, and those who follow the likes of Roberts, theirs is a magic talisman religion, not far removed from the occult.

Taking the Measure of Oral Roberts

As you listen to this, make note of OR’s progression from Holiness Pentacostalism to United Methodism. For those of you who have read here about Element Church, you will understand the connection.

The people who follow signs and wonders are, well, as Jesus said, a perverse and wicked generation. They’re in it for the same thing… that they may consume whatever they are hoping for upon their own lusts. They really care little about the signs, as Jesus said. They don’t even follow for that reason, rather, they follow to fill their bellies, John 6.26. When approached about how they might do the miraculous works of God, he simply said to them to believe in him who God has sent. Obviously not the answer someone seeking for a new Hummer wants to hear. Unfortunately, for so many who have been offered the riches and health they are seeking, believing on the Lord isn’t a better offer. Jesus is the full reward and gift that God gives as an inheritance to the saints, and who wants to be seen coming to church riding on the Lord’s back?

Hip and Thigh: More Oral

Running is one of the most popular and easiest sports to participate in. All you need is a pair (of decent) running shoes a t-shirt and a pair of shorts and you’re ready to go. However, it’s not that easy all the time and many runners complain of being injured during either competition or training.

The source of the injuries can be wide and varied but we will look at one area in particular.

Hands up if you run and have suffered from knee pain at some time or another!!

Don’t worry you are not on your own as I alluded to above, many people who are runners struggle with injury’s that stop them running or competing at some point.

What that means is that you are not able to do what you love or need to do (especially if you’re training for an event)!

Most people tell themselves they’re just being ‘wimps’ and run through it. Fortunately (for them) some people stay injury free for quite a while. This all changes when years of compensation and altered mechanics leads to a breakdown…at some point!!

Hip extension is essential for good running mechanics.

If you are not sure what hip extension is then stand up, with your feet together. Lift one foot off the floor and with a straight (or bent) knee push that foot back so that your thigh moves backwards…that’s hip extension.

If you don’t have enough hip extension then you’ll have to compensate for it some where else in the body (usually the low back, but that’s for another day).

If you are lacking hip extension then you end up overworking your muscles around the knee.

When you start to overuse any muscles you put the body in a position where it changes the balance. Joints need balance between the muscles in order to make sure that they stay in the right alignment and no undue ’stresses’ are placed into the joint.

I work in a busy sports injuries clinic and I would have to say that the physiotherapists I work with tell me that in 90% of cases knee pain, that people report, has nothing to do with any degenerative problems around the ligaments, tendons or cartilage.

Most of these ‘presenting’ knee pain patients are actually people who have massively got their muscle balance out of kilter.

So what can you do about it?

As well as a complete corrective exercise plan, one of the first things we work on is hip range of motion.

I know, you hate stretching!!

That’s because human beings tend to gravitate towards the things they like doing most and avoid the things they like doing least.

If you don’t stretch it’s probably because you find stretching hard and painful. The tighter you and more painful you find it the more essential it is for you to do.

So the key is to put the muscles like the quadriceps and hip flexors in a position that will maximally get them to stretch and relax.

This is my absolute favorite hip flexor stretch and an essential for all runners to do.

Just in case you can’t get on there, here’s a brief description:

1. Place your foot on a bench or a Swiss ball so that your laces are in contact with the surface, and the knee of that leg is on the floor (your leg will have a V angle).

2. The other leg should be in front of you with the foot on the floor so that you are in a lunge like position.

3. Keep the back straight and the buttock on the same side (leg that is being stretched) clenched.

4. You should feel a stretch stating at the knee and moving all the way up to the front of the hip or anywhere in between, it depends where you lack the flexibility.

5. Make sure that you are ‘tipping’ the pelvis (tuck your bum under your body) so that you are stretching the thigh and not compensating for the movement in your low back. You will know you are doing this if you have a big low back curve.

6. The low back should be relatively flat or slightly rounded.

7. Hold for 30 to 60 seconds.

One of my clients called Rachel was suffering with some really bad knee pain. She was referred to me by a sports physician because she was suffering from patellar tendinitis.

One of the first things I got her to do was this exact stretch. She now does this on a daily basis; in fact she should be doing it at least twice a day. That’s because she works all day sat at a desk.

This means that not only have her muscles adapted to the lack of flexibility at her hip, but she gets the double whammy of making them tight and short all day long at work.

You don’t need to do this stretch for hours on end simply complete it a couple of times a day to really get the muscles up the front of the leg relaxed and lengthened. You should start to feel some of the pressure and tension in the knee releasing the more you do it.

This obviously is not a panacea for knee pain but is definitely one of the easiest and simplest places to start.

Yes, you read that sentence correctly. Noble has led the nation’s lemming pastors into new frontiers of circus church. It’s really that bad out there.

This is too easy. Mr. Perry (Iggy) Noble wants his flock to be as stupid as he is. He says he could take them deeper. We know that deeper is as deeper does and Iggy Noble makes it clear that he ain’t gonna go there.

Terminology will change…the Gospel will not…and “church” has worked pretty darn good for around 2,000 years. STOP trying to “improve” what God established as essential!

Did you notice the terms, church, God, established, essential, Gospel? Just who is trying to improve the church? Without terminology Iggy wouldn’t have been able to say what he said and without definition, what would it matter what he said? Who listens to him, then? Lots of lost people do, unfortunately.

Iggy Noble was the inspiration for Element Church’s blasphemous worship I reported on before. Element Church even bragged about their association with Iggy. They have in fact based a large part of their, ahem, ministry on Iggyisms.

Iggy’s brand of ignorance is rife throughout the Emergent Movement. Don’t be decieved. The intoxicating incitements of the Emergent are a trap. Element Church, it appears, is shipping in a “hook” for the bait they have chummed. As I have said before, Element isn’t a benign growth of the Body, it is a malignant tumor consumming it. A good look inside the heart of Iggy Noble will find a similar cancer there.

The garbage theology of emergent types like Maness, Noble, Bell, Warren, et cetera, spreads like gangrene and over throws the faith.

Have a friend you had thought at one time was sound in the faith, but is now being infected with the mindless drival of Iggyism? Have you noticed an abrupt change in responsiveness, a resistance to sound counsel? The subtle fever of affect should have given it away, but all too often we are afraid to lose a relationship rather than speak the truth.

Easily recognized to be disease through testing today, in previous generations, gangrene only became evident when it visibly was recognized. We expect that after decades of studying the Word of God, believers would be able to discern good from evil, that they should be able to diagnose necrosis in the faith. We shouldn’t have to wait until the disease erupts to know what it is and how to treat it. That is why we equip ourselves, why we are to tell others. We hope to not be caught unaware and that others will not, either. There is safety in the multitude of counselors, so all believers need to be open to counsel, for the process of self-diagnosis can be self-deceiving. So we continue to warn others about the threat to the Gospel that Iggy and his kind at Element Church present. The spread of pathogenic ministers today goes unabated and will not end until the eschaton. Until then, we must answer swiftly, definitively, using mighty weapons that sometimes rip into the flesh to undo the advancement of the kingdom of darkness:

“Seek that gospel which rips up and tears and cuts and wounds and hacks and even kills, for that is the gospel that makes alive again. And when you have found it, give good heed to it. Let it enter into your inmost being. As the rains soak into the ground, so pray the Lord to let His gospel soak into your soul.” -Charles Spurgeon

We should not be surprised that the Devil presents himself as an angel of light. So also, we should not be surprised that the Iggy’s of the world look and sound like the popular bag boy at the grocery store or a character on SNL. We should not be surprised that their speech is like pop rhetorical honey. The flesh loves its gluttony, and the perversion by people like Noble of what is good to eat is exactly what the flesh desires most- entertainment. Take the advice of the Proverb:

My son, be attentive to my wisdom; incline your ear to my understanding, that you may keep discretion, and your lips may guard knowledge… And now, O sons, listen to me, and do not depart from the words of my mouth. Keep your way far from Iggy, and do not go near the door of Iggy’s house, lest you give your honor to others and your years to the merciless, lest strangers take their fill of your strength, and your labors go to the house of a foreigner, and at the end of your life you groan, when your flesh and body are consumed, and you say, “How I hated discipline, and my heart despised reproof! I did not listen to the voice of my teachers or incline my ear to my instructors. I am at the brink of utter ruin in the assembled congregation.”

Public officers beware – On your toes always. Be prepared with answers from internet savvy public that you serve because one mistake you did, the mistake done will be publicly known. It will spread like pandemic in this internet world.

Unlike the past where some unfavourable actions taken by certain quarters were likely to go unnoticed, the internet had changed the scenario extensively.
Websites, blogs, social networks and emails already available at the fingertips make the unfavourable actions be known by public and being judgmental, the public will self-conclude the verdict.

To take things positively – Websites, blogs, social networks and emails can serve as a good public feedback.
Only the erred and ‘I’ve done no wrong hard-cores’ will perceive those public as their enemies.

Nevertheless, those who turn to these platforms have to adhere to proper writing ethics – Although they are free to post anything they wished to without restriction, no spreading of deceit and lies as a method of character assasination will be adhered. They should adhere to writing ethics and law to avoid information distortion.

Proactive attitude to public reactions will ensure trust eroded be built again thus raising the public confidence level.

As I was looking on my Facebook feeds, I saw from one of my contacts an “Activate Your Facebook Account” thingy, it says that that contact of mine already activated his. So I clicked on it to see what’s going on (see the screen cap picture below) and stupidly clicked the “Click here to activate your account!!!”.

WARNING: It’s FAKE!

It was just an application, it’s not really something from Facebook. I thought it was something real but I was kinda bothered because if it were really from Facebook, it should’ve appeared in my Notification and I was really bothered by the Allow Access? notification before heading to the application, which usually appears when accessing apps and Facebook quizzes.

So I visited their page and saw nothing from it. I checked the Reviews tab and saw several reviews that says that it is fake. Someone also posted this link from the The Facebook Insider.

So guys, if ever you’ve installed this application, go immediately to their page and remove/block the application. Much better if you would change your password, just to be sure that your account and infos are safe.

We must be wary of what kind of applications that we’re using. I don’t know the purpose why those people created that app, I just hope it’s not something like leeching information from the users or stalking or something like that. Now that Facebook is overly famous nowadays, I hope it can still be a safe place for everyone.

Ergun Caner, president of Liberty University’s seminary, is not only looking the part (those Southern Baptist Ministers, if they know nothing else, sure know how to eat), apparently can’t even read the text. Seriously, this guy is addicted to himself.

On a scale of 1-10%, want to guess just how many Southern Baptists in the audience actually looked up the text? Well, here it is for those who didn’t:

Caner is stealing from Liberty and robbing his hearers of the truth. The worst part is that those who pay him so that he can eat so well and produce such ignorant emetics should know the truth. Either they purposely are duplicitous in his sin against the body of Christ, or they are incompetent to be in positions of trust themselves.

I recently got a job which stated it offered a weeks training, I got one and a half day’s training and no training at all on the computer before I was required to contact new clients.
I was a representative and required to contact potential clients, yet the manager whom I tried to see the good in as I usually do seemed to think it appropriate to blast his radio full volume while me and co-workers were on the phone and told us if we complained we would be fired. It makes me wonder if the owner is paying any attention to his business or he’s so rich he simply doesn’t care.

It’s the Holiday Season and many people are in need of work. In any job there will be pros and cons and while newbie works in Virtual Worlds it is a derogatory statement to new employees eager to make a good impression.

I was told this is an International company and it completely puzzles me that any professional operation would allow such immature behavior and put children in charge of people who obviously have much more experience and the awards and certificates to prove it.

If you live in Florida and find what appears to be an opportunity at 1490 Sunshadow drive, Suite 3000, Casselberry, Florida 32707 - think twice. This company is not worth even filling out the application. Sure there are people making money there. I suspect they have been there from the beginning and before said manager may have ever been in effect. It is obviously geared to get-my-GED education level and although I don’t know for sure it appeared petty cash was spend to get something for the employees which was locked in the managers office and shared with the other 2 managers at that location. $75.00 worth of Red Bull makes me kind of wonder what type of drugs these people are on.

Just my two cents and there has never in my life been a company I have worked for even on the downside that compares with the sad state of this company. I refuse to mention names, just thought I’d put a warning out to all that are Internet savvy so they don’t fall into this scam that sells lies to both consumer and new employees.

You get the e-mail, from a client, who is looking for a professional wedding planner to handle all the details for his up and coming wedding, He is in the United Kingdom, and tells you what the vision is and ask if you can handle the details for them? They give you all the details by email,and your suppose to email them back with your quote, and tell them how you can provide them with their request. In just a few days, you receive a certified letter and Money Order for your services.

So you think that everything is great…! So you email the client and tell them the check was received and… they say ” Could you please send 3000 or so to other vendor, that is waiting on his funds to get his job done! Here is the scam …Money Order looks good,but it is forged! What they are hoping for is that you will send them the cash back, and your left with owing the bank all this money!

I was lucky enough to have just read up on this scam, that was posted on the Association for Wedding Professionals International website. I have enclosed a picture of the fake check. Now I can spot them onsite..and I like to collect them just for kicks and giggles.
