A National level Science fair was organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This fair included models from all over Northern India. In this fair students of Baba Faird Sr. Sec. School participated under the kind Supervision of Mr. Munish Kumar (Lect. in Computer).
The students exhibited a model on Computer Water Cooling system. The model was appreciated by the judges as well as the schools which visited the fair and the model got a special consolation prize for its unique idea. The Management and the school authorities expressed their happiness on this achievement. Mr. Baljinder Singh, Principal, BFSSS congratulated the winners as well as the teacher. Managing Director, BFGI S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal also appreciated the efforts of students & teachers on getting this great victory.

Dr. Yoshihiro Kaburagi, Lecturer, Osaka University of commerce, Higashi Osaka and lecturer Nanzan University, Nagoya visited Baba Farid College. Prof Dilshad Ali, Head, Department of Humanities welcomed the guests.
Dr. Y. Kaburagi delivered a lecture on the Indo-Japanese cultural interaction over one thousand years for the students of M.A. Ist (History) and M.A. IInd (History). He deliberated on various spheres of the Indo-Japanese history such as History, Religion, Commerce, Art and Architecture etc. He made an illustrating Power Point presentation showing different slides of Cultural and Art-activities between India and Japan since over past one thousand years. Dr. Pardeep Kaura, Dy. Director (Academics), Baba Farid Group of Institutions said that the students were benefitted from this lecture. S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI appreciated these efforts of BFC and promised to organize such lectures in future also.

More Than 1000 Students Appeared At placement Drive held in BFGI Campus

Data64 selected Ms. Navneet Kaur and Ms. Mehakpreet Kaur B.Tech., Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology at the annual package of Rs. 10 Lacs. Data64 visited BFGI Campus on July 27, 2012 for recruitments. Data64 deals in designing contingency plans, eDiscovery processes, digital forensic and cyber investigation services and managing regulatory compliance. The company visited the campus in order to hire final year students of B.Tech(CSE/IT/ECE) offering them whopping package of Rs 10 Lac p.a.

Mr. Rohas Nagpal, Chairman, Data64 Techno Solution Pvt. Ltd. & Mr. Rahul Mishra, Vice President Marketing, Data64 Techno Solution Pvt. Ltd. along with the recruitment team visited the campus for the selection procedure. The team expressed immense contentment on seeing the walk-in of more than 1000 students from colleges like Giani Zail Singh Engineering College, Rayat And Bahra Group, SUS Tangori, Acurate Group of Instituions Delhi, Khalsa College Amritsar and many other colleges from different states. The recruitment procedure started off with the brief introduction to the company followed by Group Discussion, online test and Interview round.

Baba Farid Group of Institutions has been making continuous efforts in order to place its students with the corporate giants. Keeping these efforts, BFGI’s Department of Training & Placement invited Tech Naitra in its campus on July 17, 2012. Tech Naitra is India’s leading software developer with technical expertise in providing robust solutions in MicroSoft Net, PHP, Java, CMS, Oracle, MicroSoft Sql Server. The company visited the campus in order to hire the final year students of MSC IT & BCA.
Mr. Deepak Sharma, Punjab Head, Tech Naitra along with his team came in to select students; the recruitment process included of written test followed by Group discussion & one to one round. The company officials were appeased to see the enthusiasm among the students and were thrilled on seeing their performance in the selection procedure. Baba Farid Group of Institutions honored its meritorious students in a function organized in the campus. Dr. Jamsheed Ali Khan, Dean, Colleges development Council, Punjabi University, Patiala, was the Chief Guest of the function. Dr. Satnam Singh Jassal, Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala, was also present as Guest of Honor. Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI, welcomed the guests, meritorious students as well as their parents. He also congratulated Dr. Khan for being opted as Dean, Colleges development Council for the second time. He also threw light on the mission and vision of BFGI. Dr. Khan was very impressed by the facilities and infrastructure provided by the group to the students. He said that BFGI is one of the best colleges that are affiliated with Punjabi University Patiala. He told about the contribution of BFGI in framing and designing new courses in University. He also said that BFGI should apply for Autonomous Institution. It is worth mentioning that in Punjab, out of more than 900 in the state only one college is Autonomous i.e. Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib. 39 University position holders were honored in the function.

Baba Farid College of engineering and Technology organized a 5 days Faculty Development Programme – A short term technical teaching training programme on “ Recent Trends in Computing and Communication” which is organizing from 26^th May to 1^st june 2012. This programme is co-sponsored by Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. It is an opportunity for the faculty members from various reputed institutions to enrich them with valuable information about Recent Trends in Computing and Communication. On the first day Dr., Manish Jindal, Associate Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala share his knowledge for Introduction & applications of Optical Character Recognition. He discussed on various algos used for OCR and tells about Pattern Recognition in detail. On the 2^nd Day Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Associate Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala acquainted the members about scope of research in Software engineering and research methodology in empirical software engineering. Today, All the faculty members gained a lot about the e-wastage & online social media (OSM) like facebook, twitter, orkut etc. from Dr. Vikram Singh, Prof., Choudary Devi Lal University who was resource person of this program. Dr. Vishal Goyal, professor, Punjabi University, Patiala also put light on Natural language processor in the evening session. This Faculty Development Programme was designed for the faculty to enhance their knowledge about Recent Trends in Computing and Communication. The faculy members of Patiala Institute of Engg. & Tech, Patiala, Guru Ram Das institute of Engg. & Tech., Lehra bega, Arya Bhatta College of Engg. and Tech., Barnala, Bhai Maha Singh College of Engg., Shri Muktsar Sahib, GGSCET, Talwandi Sabo has been participating in this FDP.

10+2 Medical Students outshine in Punjab PMET

Students of Department of Competitive Studies of Baba Farid Senior Secondary School proved their mettle by displaying a remarkable result in Punjab PMET. Two girl students of 10+2 Medical made the school proud by excelling in exams and contributing to desired result. The strong determination of students along with dedicated contribution of the faculty members has led to the outstanding achievements. Ms. Ritu got 113th rank category wise and Jaspreet kaur bagged 160th rank overall in Punjab PMET. She also cleared CBSE /PMT/ Pre-lim. Principal S. Baljinder Singh, Vice-Principal Navnider Kaur and Mr. Ashwani Goyal , Head, Deaprtment of competitive Studies appreciated the efforts of students and congratulated the parents of rank holder students. Baba Farid College, Bathinda, achieved 100 percent result in M.Sc (Physics) 3rd Semester. The result was declared by Punjabi University, Patiala. Total 28 Students had appeared in the examination. Ms. Nisha Rani, Student of Baba Farid College has bagged second position in University with 84.2% marks . Six Students of M.Sc (Physics) 3rd Semester topped in College with more than 75% marks and 2 students got more than 80% marks in M.Sc (Physics) 3rd Semester. These Students are Prabhjot Kaur (82.4%), Shallu Bansal (79.4%), Ritika Garg(77.8%), Manjit Kaur (76.6%), Kiranjot Kaur (75.2%). Dr. Pardeep kaura, Dy. Blood Group Detection Camp organises by BFSSS

A Blood Detection Camp was organized by the science students of Baba Farid Sr. Sec. School, under the supervision of Ms. Navnider Dhillon (Vice Principal),Ms. Manisha Sharma(HoD, Biology) and Mr.Mandeep Singh(HoD,Chemistry) in the premises of BFGI.
In this camp, various check-ups like Blood group detection, HB content, Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar level were performed by students, where the students explained various topics related to blood like- How to detect blood group, transfusion of Blood Group and how does it flow, Phenomena of Blood Clotting, causes of AIDS, HIV virus, Incompatibility due to Rh factor during pregnancy etc. were done by the students. They also gave the basic information about the effects of AIDS/HIV virus on the human body, causes & precautions of high sugar level and causes & precautions of high blood pressure.

CDP 2012 Inaugurated at BFGI

BFGI is proud to organize CDP, 60 hour module managed by Department of Training & Placement for the third consecutive year. Career Development Program (CDP) forms an integral part of Department of Training & Placement at Baba Farid Group of Institutions. CDP was successfully inaugurated on 15th May, 2012 at BFGI campus. More than 250 students registered for the session. The students were made familiar with the entire module & layout of CDP. All the students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal in the induction program; they expressed their gratitude towards the Group for organizing the program and showed faith in the same by saying that it would really help them choose the right direction in life.
The session emphasized on personality development and the same was conducted by the dedicated team of internal trainers from the Department of Training & Placement. Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Managing Director, BFGI appreciated the efforts of the Department and motivated the team to keep the spirits high. He said that this is a great effort taken by the department considering the need of Malwa students in order to hone up their employability skills. NAAC accredits BFCE ‘A’ Grade

CGPA Ranking: First in Punjab and Fourth in India
BFCE was recently visited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) Team headed by Prof. B.P. Bhatnagar, Retd. Vice Chancellor Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Udipur (Rajasthan) and member was Dr. S. Marlin, Principal Saint N’ College of Education, Sikandrabad (Andra Pardesh). The team comprehensively administration activities and labs, classrooms, hostels and playgrounds as well. The team gave its report to NAAC , after convening a meeting the council declared the result and BFCE was accredited “A” Grade because of its infrastructure, faculty and other features. It is a matter of pride that no other college in Punjab was able to get “A” Grade. NAAC team declared that infrastructure and amenities in BFCE were those of international standard. The team was much impressed by wi-fi system, QMS,ERP and group Insurance for all the students after analyzing the faculties and infrastructure in 66 college of West Bengal, Manipur, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, etc.
The team found BFCE one and only college in India and at top in Punjab and fourth position in India CGPA ranking of 3.13 and second in all colleges of Education. It is worth mentioning that NAAC evaluate the institution after a close perusal of infrastructure and faculties for providing the students with quality education, moreover the institutes noy matching standard also can loose recognisation.
Chairman, Baba Farid Group of Institutions, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal expressing satisfaction and joy over this achievement, he congratulated principal and staff of BFCE and said that it was a matter of pride for the Group that BFCE has outshined among India’s 66 colleges by getting “A” Grade by NAAC. World Earth Day Celebrated in BFGI

World earth Day was celebrated at Baba farid Group of Instituions. Mr. Balvinder Singh Aulakh, DEO(S) Bathinda graced the occasion as chief guest. Along with him S.Harcharan Singh,Distt. Guidance Counsellor and all the incharges of Eco club from various schools in the district were also present.
Mr. B D Sharma, Deputy Director, BFGI welcomed all the guests and explained the importance of conservation of the natural resources. He said that we should consider every day as world earth day and do efforts to save our unique planet.
Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, MD, Baba Farid Group of Institutions, said in his speech that the environmental pollution has its worst effect on the mankind. The diseases such as cancer, have become very common in the area due this pollution. He also motivated the people to plant more and more trees as trees are very helpful in decreasing the effect of pollution. He also mentioned that even in our holy books Earth has been given the status of mother and hence we should take care of our mother planet. He also told that ERP solution is successfully used at BFGI to decrease the paper consumption.
Mr. Aulakh appreciated the efforts of BFGI and said to all Incharges of Eco Club to teach every student and aware people about pollution. Many other dignitaries also share own views on World Earth Day.

More than 1000 students Shortlisted at BFGI MEGA JOB FAIR

Baba Farid Group of Institutions has not only played a dominant role in providing quality education to the students but has also been providing array of job opportunities to the aspirants making it the leading institute of Malwa region. It is the first institute to bring out the concept of Job Fairs in Malwa region in order to provide the region with wholesome employment openings.
Keeping its endeavor, BFGI’s Department of Training & Placement organized MEGA JOB FAIR in its campus on 7th April, 2012 wherein more than 50 companies including Café Coffee Day, Hero Electric, HDFC Bank, IDBI Intech, Manpower, Hindustan Times, Wipro, Interglobe Technology, NIIT, Tech Mahindra, Bharti Wal Mart, Amrit Durapart, Surya Health Care, Purisys, Dada Motors, GI Group, Eureka Forbes, Ind Swift, GB Group, Angel Broking, Genpact, Grospinz Fab, Indivar, Oswal Group, HBN Group and Godrej were welcomed by the department. The companies landed to hire the aspiring candidates who came to notch Dream jobs from different parts of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and NCR. The students from different colleges & universities such as Lovely Professional University, Punjabi University, Punjab University, Delhi University and Guru Nanak Dev University also visited the campus. It was an opening where not only fresher’s but also the candidates with work experience could grab the exciting jobs adding yet another success story to BFGI.
Company officials were appeased to see heavy walk-in of 3884 candidates and appreciated the zeal among the applicants. After the initial rounds of group discussions and interviews the number of candidates shortlisted crossed the magical figure of 1000.
Intec Capital offered package of 2.5 lacs per annum and Sam Advisory offered the packages upto 4 lacs per annum.

Jasdeep Singh, a student from Professional University, told that Baba Farid Group of Institutions is known for providing such kind of platforms for the students.
Mr.Mohit Sinha, senior executive,Wipro, was very impressed by the number of candidates who appeared and the arrangements by BFGI. He told that he had interviewed around 300 candidates.

An Open Discussion organises at BFGI on the concept of ‘LIVE GREEN’

The prime focus of BFGI is to provide all round development of the students to make them aware of the problems occurring around in our environment. So that, they can work for the creation of a healthy society. Post Liberalization, the rapidly growing technology has no doubt smoothened our lives but our ignorance towards nature played havoc with environment. In order to eradicate this ignorance towards nature, Baba Farid Group of Institutions has started a movement “LIVE GREEN: STEP TOWARDS BETTER LIVING”. An open Discussion on the above theme was organised by BFGI, on March 29, 2012 on the premises of campus. Dr, Pardeep Kaura, Deputy Director Academics anchored this discussion.
Mr. B.D. Sharma, Deputy Director Activities warmly welcomed Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, a well recognised an environmentalist and eco-activist, Mr. Ashok Kumar Kalsi, SE of Punjab Pollution Control Board, Sant Daya Singh, Mr. D.K. Singla, XEN and Mr. Balbir Singh Baling (Ex- Chairman Bar Council Chandigarh).
While giving the answers of questions asked by the audience, Sant Seehewal Showed his concern about polluted environment and said,” We are facing water scarcity these days, as the ground water level has gone down. But, this can be changed. The flow of polluted water in free-flowing natural rivers has blocked the recharging process. Whatever work we have done in cleaning up the Kali Bein rivulet it was for the welfare of mankind. No other work can be more sacred than this. It is said in the Bani that it is better to save a creature, than to take bath in 68 holy places of pilgrimage.” He told that we should be aware of our laws and rights to save our environment resources in perfect shape.
Managing Director of BFGI, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal informed that BFGI has formed an Awareness Campaigning team of dedicated members working towards the promotion of LIVE GREEN. Campaigning team is going in different schools, colleges and neighboring areas to aware the society about the optimum use of non-renewable resources. BFGI team is also visiting and associating with Colleges, NGOs, Schools, Clubs, Private, Government, and Semi Government organizations, so that we can work unitedly towards making the world greener. Literature related to the above mentioned cause is also distributing to the different sections of society.
Mr. Kalsi requested to people to summit written complaints if they want appropriate actions towards their problems related to the environment. He also threw the light on the available environmental laws and asked for full public cooperation.

Baba Farid Group of Institutions organised a function on martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, on March 23, 2012. The key note speaker of the occasion was Dr. Jagtar Singh Joga, Associate Professor Nehru Memorial College, Mansa.
Managing Director of BFGI, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal welcomed to all the guests and encouraged the students that the aim of the life should not only control the mind but to develop it harmoniously. We should be practical in our life towards our aim and adopt positive attitude to achieve it.
While delivering his speech, Mr. Joga threw the light on Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s life and stressed upon, to adopt his positive thinking in our life as well, to be good a citizen. He added that we need to do more research thoroughly and deeply to change our society in reformed form.
On this occasion, two documentaries presented by Baba Farid College of Engg & Tech., which depicts about the life of Bhagat Singh’s life in a very touchy way. A short play also played by Mr. Jatinder Singh, a student of BFGI which make the atmosphere very emotional. Besides this, some magic tricks were also shown by Tarksheel Society. ’Mera Rang De Basanti Chola’ sang by Mr. Phankar and Mr. Gulrej Khan, the students of BFGI.
