¿Alguién sabe que es Blender?

Bueno para que no se queden en la ignorancia (chic@s Mac), Blender es un programa de código abierto para diseño, animación y texturizado en 3D, principalmente dirigido para plataformas Linux y Windows, programado por el Blender Institute.

Ahora dirán: “uuuuhhh que chafa, si es para Windows de seguro ha de estar medio gacho el programita…eh… yo me quedo con mi Mac”

Bueno dejenme decirles que están en un predicamento visual por el siguiente cortometraje:

Iniciado como un proyecto de la misma companía que trajo al mundo Blender, “Big Buck Bunny” [Nombre Código: P.E.A.C.H.] fué creado totalmente en este software y patrocinado tanto por la misma Fundación [Fundación Blender], los integrantes del staff [Instituto Blender], como todos aquellas personas de buena fé que quisieron cooperar tanto desinteresadamente como también en la pre-venta del DVD , todo para apoyar la causa de la licencia de Creative Commons ( Que es una licencia que avala los derechos de autor pero de manera maleable siempre y cuando se dé cierto crédito a los creadores y no se use por persons ajenas para algún beneficio económico,¿capicci?)

Big Buck Bunny trata la historia de un ENORME CONEJO BLANCO ( muy lindo en verdad :3) de gran corazón que verá su día en el bosque transtornado por un trío de ardillas que no buscan nada bueno y a los cuales dará su merecido.

Con estreno en Abril del 2008, esta maravilla de animación demuestra que no solo es posible hacer algo de la nada, sino que con ganas podemos crear algo innovador con lo más sube stimado.

Das zweite Open-Movie Projekt der Blender-Foundation. Schon ein bisschen älter, aber immer wieder nett.

“7. Sanat” diye bilinen sinema, ortaya çıktığı günden itibaren insanları büyülemeyi başarmıştır. Önce Kieslovski’ler, Tarkovski’ler, Spielberg’ler, Almadovar’larla karşımıza çıkmış, bize hayatı farklı yönleriyle yansıtmıştır. Sonra da animasyonlarla bizi farklı dünyalara götürmüş, orada Nemo (Kayıp Balık: Nemo) ile, Mumble (Neşeli Ayaklar) ile, Remy (Ratatouille) ile tanıştırmıştır.

İlk bakışta çocuklar için hazırlanmış filmler gibi görünse de animasyonlar, her yaştan insanın ilgisini ve beğenisini kazanmıştır. İşte size beğeneceğiz iki animasyon film daha: Elephant’s Dream ve Big Buck Bunny. Blender Vakfı’nın hazırladığı bu iki film, açık kaynak kodlu üç boyutlu modelleme ve canlandırma uygulaması olan Blender ile hazırlanmıştır.

Blender, 1988’de Hollanda’da kurulan NeoGeo adlı canlandırma stüdyosu ile NaN yazılım firmasının ortaklaşa geliştirdikleri bir yazılımdır. İlk aşamada kapalı kaynak kodlu ve ücretli bir yazılım olan Blender, yazılımın haklarını elinde tutan NaN’ın batması ve o yıl kurulan Blender Vakfı’nın düzenlediği kampanya sayesinde kodların kamuya açılmasıyla özgürlüğüne kavuşmuştur. Birçok yazılım geliştiricisinin de katkısıyla hızla gelişmiştir.

Blender, ilk olarak “Cuma ya da bir Başka Gün” adlı 35 mm filmin görsel efektlerinde kullanılmıştır. Hatta film, “En iyi görsel efekt” ödülünü de almıştır. “Örümcek Adam 2” de de kullanılan Blender, Montevideo Medya Sanatları Enstitüsü’nün de katkısıyla hazırlanan Fillerin Düşü (Elephant’s Dream) adlı üç boyutlu animasyon filmin üretilmesinde kullanılmıştır. Bu film ile bir ilk de gerçekleştirilmiştir: Özgür yazılım felsefesine uygun olarak kaynak kodları açık olarak dağıtılmıştır. Yani “Fillerin Düşü” ilk “özgür film”imizdir.

Fillerin Düşü, iki garip görünümlü karakterin baş gösterdiği bir animasyondur. Karakterler bir çeşit makinenin içinde yol almaktadırlar. Bu karakterlerden yaşlı olanı, Proog, yol gösterici ya da rehber diyebileceğimiz bir görev üstlenmiştir. Emo’ya sürekli öğütler vermektedir. Emo ise şaşkın bir şekilde Proog’u izler; ama öğütlerine pek kulak asmaz. Proog’a karşı çıkar. Bunun sonucuna da katlanır.

Fillerin Düşü’nde Proog’u izlerken karşınızda bir animasyon harikası değil de gerçek bir insan varmış izlenimine kapılacaksınız. Elinin üstündeki lekeler bile düşünülmüş. Oldukça başarılı bir çalışma.

Gelelim diğer bir özgür filme: Big Buck Bunny. Blender Vakfı’nın son animasyon filmi olan Big Buck Bunny’de devasa bir tavşanla uğraşan, sonra da ağzının payını alan üç yaramaz konuğumuz oluyor. Çok güzel bir orman görünümü, rengârenk çiçekler ve sevimli hayvanlarla göz dolduran filmde Blender yine harikalar yaratmış. Tamamında açık içerik felsefesi benimsenmiş filmin kendisiyle birlikte kaynak kodlarını ve yapımda kullanılan tüm dosyaları da edinerek her aşamaya müdahale edebilirsiniz. Hatta filmi yeniden yarabilirsiniz.

Hallo da draußen, ich dachte ich mach mal ein bisschen Werbung für ein Programm, das ich echt super finde. Keine Sorge, ich werde auch nicht dafür bezahlt Das Programm ist OpenSource und heißt Blender.
Runterzuladen gibts das auf der offiziellen Seite: Download Blender!
Mit Blender kann man unglaublich viel anstellen, was mit Modellierung, Animation, Spieleentwicklung, etc. zu tun hat. Und das ganze bei einer Downloadgröße von 10,8 MB (Stand 11.09.2009). Es ist ein wenig schwer sich am Anfang in das Programm reinzufinden. Ich denke aber, dass es nicht schwerer zu erlernen ist als vergleichbare Anwendungen wie Maya oder 3dsmax. Es gibt im Netz allerdings genug Tutorialseiten, mit deren Hilfe es möglich ist, das Programm anhand von Beispielen kennen zu lernen.

Gute Tutorialseiten imho sind:

• Psycho3D Tutorials (auch auf deutsch)
• Blendertips
• Blender Guru
• CG Cookie

Diese Seiten sind gute Anlaufstellen, falls man ein bisschen in die 3D-Gestaltung reinschauen will. Ich werde hier evtl. in den nächsten Tagen noch zwei Studienarbeiten hochladen, in denen ich auch eine Einführung in das Modellieren und die Animation gebe. Alles was da drin steht, kann aber auch auf den oben genannten Seiten gefunden werden.

Mit Blender wurden unter anderem zwei Kurzanimationsfilme erstellt, die wirklich sehenswert sind. “Big Buck Bunny” gibt es hier und “Elephants Dream” hier.

Big Buck Bunny totalmente Blender 3D! Sim, esse é o mais novo projeto feito pela Blender Foundation (www.blender.org). Um curta muito interessante produzido ano passado (2008) pela equipe da Blender Foundation com quase 1.000.000 de visualizações no youtube! Cada projeto desenvolvido pela BF (Blender Foundation) visa alguns objetivos de otimização do software.

Por exemplo, na produção do Big Buck Bunny os produtores concentraram-se em desenvolver ferramentas para:

Editar e renderizar cabelos, pelos e gramas de forma facil e eficiente;

Melhorar a movimentação e a deformação do personagem no processo de animação;

Testar o blender na construção de grandes cenários, com a presença de astos campos e de muitas árvores e folhas;

Validar o blender como um programa profissional de modelagem e animação 3D;

Esses foram os principais onjetivos desenvolvidos e sem sombra de dúvidas alcançados!

This is a cool little short animated film created by the Blender Institute. Big Buck Bunny takes a look at the life of a giant white rabbit with a big heart. When three little rodents terrorize him, the rabbit gets his revenge. It is very entertaining and a very impressive short film. The animation is done especially well. This meeting was about the power of open source in animation field and how to assemble the computer peripherals. Most of the members of KLOSC did not aware of the meeting place as it was changed on the last minute due to some special classes for lateral entry students. But, the seniors didn’t cancel the meeting. They took the class as-usual. Fifteen members were participated in this meeting.

First –of-all the animation movies ( Elephant’s Dream and Big Buck Bunny ) was shown to all the students. The animations were awesome and overplayed the work done by Maya and 3D’s max. All the members were so excited, when they saw that animation movie. Now all students were felt the power of open source in multimedia .Then Diwakar of 2^nd year ,took the seminar on CPU parts in the computer. He taught by means of visualization. It was very easy to understand and we really enjoyed it. At the end of the session 3 final year peoples ( Aarthi,Jayalakshmi and Kavitha.A) joined with us and we gave a summary about the session to them.

The meeting spiritly ended with our slogan “I Can I Will”

“Big Buck Bunny” on Blender Foundationi lühifilm, mis jutustab sõbralikust hiidjänesest, kes kolme kurja ja kiusliku närilise peale pisut pahaseks saab. Ja nagu vahel juhtub, peab ära vaatama ka lõputiitrid, et nende taha peidetud päris lõpp nägemata ei jääks.

Mit Quicktime liefert Apple einen schnellen, nicht überladenen und schicken Media Player mit. Einige moderne und proprietäre Formate kann man von Haus aus allerdings nicht damit abspielen.

Das ist allerdings kein Beinbruch, denn Abhilfe schaffen zwei kostenlose Softwarepakete. Namentlich Perian und Flip4Mac.

Perian bezeichnet sich selbst als Schweizer Taschenmassen für Quicktime. So bietet es durch eine Quicktime Komponente Zugriff auf so gut wie alle aktuellen Video und Audio Codecs.

In der Liste fehlen allerdings die proprietären Windows Media Formate von Microsoft. Hier kommt Flip4Mac ins Spiel, welches kostenfrei eine Komponente zum abspielen, und gegen eine Gebühr Funktionen zum editieren mitbringt.

Eine Alternative die alle Codecs gleich mitbringt ist der Open Source Video Lan Media Player, kurz VLC. Allerdings finde ich Quicktime in der Bedienung doch ein tick netter. Aber VLC spielt wirklich so gut wie alles ab, ohne dass man irgendetwas anderes installieren müsste. Vor allem auch gut, wenn man mal irgendwo ist und ein Format nicht läuft. Ein File runter laden und schon läuft es.

Auf den Screenshots spiele ich eine .mkv Datei des kostenlosen Films Big Buck Bunny ab. Dieser wurde von der Blender Foundation erstellt und wird kostenlos verteilt.

Como les dije al principio de este blog, siempre me gusta traer novedades y opciones para todos, como blog no oficial de atlantic college, les mencione que quería traerles siempre inspiración y opciones tanto de software privativo como open source. En este articulo que fue escrito en http://www.linuxmovies.org/ que esta escrito en ingles, se estara hablando del software numero 1 en Hollywood, el por que usan open source. Mi idea no es convertir a los estudiantes y demás personas a que se cambien a linux, lo mas importante es cada cual sentirse comodo con su sistema operativo, pero como en este mundo siempre la gente quieren tratar de usar lo que la mayoría usa, pues… por que no hablar de linux en la industria del cine y el entretenimiento? In the film industry, Linux has won. It’s running on practically all servers and desktops used for feature animation and visual effects. LinuxMovies.org met monthly in Hollywood for years, but now rarely meets.
Linux is used to create practically every blockbuster movie in theaters today, movies produced by Disney/Pixar, DreamWorks Animation, Sony, ILM, and other studios.
Linux is the most popular operating system for big budget feature film animation and visual effects, with more than 95% of the servers and desktops at large animation and visual effects companies. People outside the film industry, and even inside the industry sometimes, don’t realize that Linux is so big at large studios. Linux is the norm in Hollywood and considered the state-of-the-art. In this upside-down world where Windows and Mac are minority operating systems, Linux evangelists would be hard-pressed to find anyone left to convert. The free operating system built by the people for the people has been embraced foremost by film studios.
Hollywood prefers Linux because in the right hands it’s better, faster and cheaper. At large companies that have thousands of servers and desktops, the economy and massive efficiency of Linux is felt most. At smaller production companies, Windows or Macs are often more popular because economy of scale doesn’t apply. Despite that, some small shops run primarily Linux. Some production companies use a mixed environment. For example, South Park is produced using Mac desktops with Linux servers. Although king in the film industry, Linux is rarely seen in the television industry due to much more modest computer needs.
Unlike Windows or Macintosh, no company owns Linux. Developers at many companies contribute code to Linux which is available for free and runs on all types of computer hardware. Companies such as HP, Dell, IBM, Verari, Boxx, and others build Linux systems to film industry specifications.
LinuxMovies.org is a group of over 300 technologists helping each other support Linux in film industry applications and advancing Linux motion picture technology.
