A Bitter World

About 25,000 people die every day of hunger, according to the United Nations. Which means one person every three and a half seconds. It is without doubt that there is plenty of food in the world for everyone. The problem is that hungry people are trapped in severe poverty. They lack the money to buy enough food for themselves and their families. As a result they become weak and often sick and this makes them less able to work.

We see them everyday, anywhere. We come face to face with them daily and we just ignore them.

”A photograph is a version of the world. If you do not like it, ignore it; or offer your own version in return.”

Their home is the street. Their bed is the bench, or even the ground. For their bed, they gather all plastic bags, newspapers or old clothes that you or I throw in trash bins. No one is there to offer an accommodation. Being neglected by their families and having no money to survive, they have nowhere to sleep but streets.

”Being unwanted, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger.”

Maybe it’s their own choice to have a life like this. They think that home is the nature. They choose a life of freedom. No house. No job. No money.

Just them and the streets.

”Don’t ask me to be someone, I choose to be myself”

How many times a day we see them in public places requesting money, food or even a cigarette. They may be found in public places such as transport routes, parks, and near busy markets. It has become such a common sight and as a consequence we don’t pay the slightest attention.

We repel them. We push them. We don’t even see them.

Being busy with our lives, we forget or we just don’t care about the rest of the world. The fast pace of life don’t give us the chance to come closer and be human beings. We have become cruel and indifferent. But those who just worry about their own families and don’t pay attention to others’ lives, how can we describe them? Distinctive or Insensitive?

I believe that we, everyone, should think about this problem and have our own response. Never doubt or forget;

”Poverty is the worst form of violence.”

Last but not least, writing the above and then reading the page again and again, there are a couple of songs that come to my mind. One of them is the ”Fast Car” by Tracy Chapman.

I’ve just made list of the(for me) most sad songs.I found inspiration in this weather.But anyway,don’t be sad,but in case you want to cry,play this it will make you cry,well at least one song for sure.
