Sitemiz açıldıktan sonra hiç pagerank güncellemesi geçirmemiştir. Dolayısıyla sitemizin pr değeri 0′dır.

How reliant is your Company on EDI?

Many companies now rely on EDI more than ever, not only for Orders and Invoices, but for Shipping Notices (ASNs), cost pricing information and catalogue information, to name a few.

Large Retailers, including Sainsbury are pushing Suppliers to provide more information electronically and are actively rolling programs out to their Suppliers to ensure that the are compliant with these documents.

But how many Companies are out there running unsupported version of EDI software on unsupported versions of Operating Systems (OS) and have no idea as to the value that these systems bring, until they fail.

When they fail, you could be faced with charges, for undelivered or incorrect Orders and Delivery, unpaid Invoices and you could even be dropped as a Supplier.

Talk to your hardware supplier to ensure that your OS is current and supported. IBM have the details of OS/400 releases on their website.

Talk to you EDI supplier to ensure that you are on a supported version of software. Inovis provides information on TrustedLink and Biz software on the Customer Portal.

Ensure you are running a regular purge on your EDI system. Gwyn Madsen gave some good advice on TrustedLink iSeries (TLi) purging in her blog last month

Ieri au inceput Zilele Biz, unul dintre cele mai importante evenimente de business ale anului, la Howard Johnson Hotel – Bucuresti.

Prima zi a fost dedicata antreprenoriatului si a debutat cu prezentarea lui Marius Ghenea. A vorbit despre criza dar si despre oportunitatile antreprenoriale. Crede ca mai marii din economia romaneasca au inceput sa declare lucruri trasnite, unul dintre acestia fiind Dinu Patriciu care a spus ca patru din cinci bugetari trebuie sa plece acasa sau ca Bucurestiul poate deveni centrul financiar al lumii.

Marius Ghenea a subliniat faptul ca in 2010 tendinta de reflux continua, dar ca vor exista si oportunitati.

Cristian Ionescu, Contry Cluster Manager la Coface Romania a vorbit despre tendintele anului 2010: economia va evolua in primul semestru, consumul va ramane redus pentru ca oamenii si-au restructurat nevoile, zona de start-up online o sa aiba sanse de reusita, somajul va creste (mai ales in sectorul public). Totusi, Cristian Ionescu vede si oportunitatile pe care le aduce criza (mai ales pentru cei care dispun de cash) si anume: posibilitatea de a face achizitii si investitii, oportunitatile de achizitii de talente in zona HR.

Dragos Petrescu, CEO al Trotter Prim, a scos in evidenta faptul ca realismul ar trebui sa domine antreprenorii in perioadele de criza, dublat de perseverenta. El a spus ca a prevazut criza inca de la sfarsitul anului 2008 si ca a muncit in 2009 cu 20-30% mai mult pentru aceleasi incasari in lei. De asemenea a ales sa inchida toate unitatile neprofitabile si a redus numarul angajatilor cu 16%.

Tot Dragos Petrescu a prezentat, in cadrul seminarului Gandeste Biz, o istorie a succesului sau in afaceri. A pornit in 1993, de la o taraba pe Calea Mosilor. Ulterior si-a format o retea de chioscuri. A trecut prin Shell Romania si scoala de hamburgerie si business de la McDonalds. A infiintat primul restaurant La Mama in ’99, dupa care a urmat extinderea alerta: lantul La Mama, lantul City Grill si City Café, Caru cu Bere, Hanul Berarilor. Reteta succesului: munca foarte multa, curaj, incredere in oameni, controlarea business-ului cu o mana de fier, inspiratie si, neaparat, noroc. Dar cel mai important ca antreprenor: ocupa-te numai de ceea ce stii sa faci foarte bine, altfel ai sanse mari sa esuezi.

Calin Fusu, CEO Neogen a declarat ca BestJobs.ro a inregistrat in acest an o scadere a veniturilor dar ca va fi pe profit. Un element interesant: criza a realizat un transfer de putere inapoi catre angajatori. Astfel se inregistreaza o tendinta a angajatorilor de a se transforma in antreprenori, iar joburile oferite – in proiecte.

Un alt speaker interesant a fost Florin Pogonaru, Presedintele AOAR – Asociatia Oamenilor de Afaceri din Romania. Acesta a subliniat ca mediul de business din Romania a fost dominat de speculatie in doua valuri: primul a fost al privatizarilor, al doilea al imobilialelor. Astfel, numerosi indivizi au devenit peste noapte “oameni de afaceri”. Acum, spatiul afacerilor este dominat de “bancheri tristi” si de “oameni de afaceri tristi” care nu mai au acces la finantare si au intrat in criza din cauza ca provin dintr-un bubble speculativ.

Si trabajas en el mundo de la banca, y te enseñan un pantallazo como este…

… seguramente no te dirá nada, por curiosidad te diré que lo que tienes ahí es una cosimulación de un modelo realizado con Simulink (MathWorks) y un simulador de código VHDL, comparando los resultados obtenidos con objeto de verificar la bondad de nuestro código. Una vez que los ingenieros comprueban que todo funciona correctamente reescriben ese código en un microprocesador de propósito espécifico llamado FPGA capaz de ejecutar instrucciones de código mucho más rápido que un micro convencional. Lo normal, es que este código se utilice en sistemas de visión artificial, radares, telecomunicaciones,…  Esto se podía ver el pasado Jueves 19 de Noviembre en el X-fext  en Madrid, una feria que organiza cada dos años Xilinx uno de los principales fabricantes de estos microprocesadores FPGA.

Recientemente publicamos un post sobre Algoritmic Tading en el que comentábamos que la ventaja entre unos traders y otros venía dada por microsegundos,  jústamente eso, lo que hace que una FPGA sea más rápido que un micro convencional, unos microsegundos y que se traducen en millones de Libras Esterlinas al final de un año y eso es precisamente lo que los más listos de la clase están haciendo ya en la City. Cogen sus modelos y los reescriben en código VHDL (código específico para FPGA’s), como si fuese código C, y de ahí lo reescriben en las FPGA’s y en lugar de ser el micro de un PC o servidor el que lanza las órdenes de compra/venta es una FPGA de Xilinx o Altera  la que se encarga de esto, mucho más rápido que su pariente lejano de Intel.

Una pena que ya no puedas pasarte por ahí, al final; como si de un mercadillo de barrio se tratara, terminaron recogiendo su tecnología y llevándose su conocimiento a otra parte. Una verdadera lástima, porque aquí más de uno te habría contado cómo hacerlo.  Quizás el tipo este de la foto sepa algo…

Is there a medical case study done on Weekenders after completion of Startup Weekend?  If not, there certainly should be.  I can’t possibly be the only one needing a steady IV drip of caffeine-ridden tea just to make it through the day.  (Lord help me, it’s only 10:15am.)  I awoke this morning in a haze, certain that it had to be Saturday morning, in utter disbelief that I actually had to crawl out of bed, hop in the shower and make the 30 minute train ride to the Financial District.  I don’t believe you, it can’t be true.  I really don’t get to sleep in until Thanksgiving Day?  Oh yes, thank you Jesus Startup Weekend was scheduled directly before a short work week.  That helps.

In all honesty, I’m really not complaining.  I just spent the most unbelievably surreal weekend I’ve had in my short professional experience.  I pitched a company Friday night and by Saturday morning, I was running a team of 11 professionals who all saw a great future in working on building my idea into a reality.  Founder and CEO at 24?  Anything’s possible in this magical world.  It’s like playing dress up for super nerdy kids. 

Now that I’m back in the real world, it’s quite hard to pull myself entirely back and focus on my actual job in recruiting.  I keep thinking I need to run to check on my developer (Gib rocks!), head to the conference room to meet with the biz dev team, or give approval to the home page copy our marketing team just created.  Not helping in the matter are the emails I keep seeing come in on my iPhone from fellow Weekenders following me on Twitter, adding me to LinkedIn, and other points of contact from members of my team.

I always knew I wanted to participate in a Startup Weekend.  Many of my friends have done West Lafayette and Indianapolis and enjoyed it, and New York was certainly a great jumping off point for my involvement with the group.  With my first Weekend wrapped up, I’m continuing on with planning next steps with the rest of the SUMU kiddos.  For now though, it’s off to the kitchen to make another cup of Earl Grey to keep from passing out on my keyboard at my regular 9-5.  (Ha, I mean 7:45-7:30.)
