It arrived in my e-mail last Friday; a press release about a journalism conference on mortality rates for black Americans.

I looked at the conference description, but there was nothing there about black abortions.

Or why blacks, who make up about one-eighth of the U.S. population, have more than one-third (37 percent) of America’s 1.2 million annual abortions. Or how, if you take 37 percent of America’s 45 million abortions between 1973 and 2005, you come up with 17 million people.

The National Association of Black Journalists’ Conference on Health Disparities

has all the trappings of a well-run effort. Speakers at the Jan. 30-31 meeting in Atlanta include Dr. Kevin Fenton of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Marian Wright Edelman of the Children’s Defense Fund, Phill Wilson of the Black AIDS Institute and Linda Blount of the American Cancer Society.

The focus is on enlightening journalists on health issues that plague blacks, such as mental health issues from incarceration, heart disease, breast cancer, strokes, HIV/AIDS and childhood obesity.

No mention of a procedure that ends one out of every three black pregnancies?

According to the Guttmacher Institute, which compiles reproductive health statistics, black women abort their children at five times the white rate and twice the Hispanic rate. The rate is 11 abortions per 1,000 white women, 28 for every 1,000 Hispanic women and 50 for every 1,000 black women.

I contacted the NABJ and asked why there was not at least one workshop on this topic. Everyone knows abortion is connected to health care. Ask Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The conference organizer said she had never seen the figures I was quoting — sort of like a Jewish reporter professing ignorance of the Holocaust.

Please. The Guttmacher Institute should be on the Rolodex of every health reporter. Abortion is the country’s most common surgical procedure. One of every four pregnancies is terminated this way. Women who get abortions are mostly young, poor, single, and black or Hispanic.

I was told the NABJ’s schedule was too full for yet another workshop. At best, unplanned pregnancy might be dealt with during a session on women’s health, but not, she said, as a morals or values issue.

Day Gardner, director of the National Black Pro-Life Union, says abortion clinics are purposely located in minority neighborhoods.

“A lot of people don’t report abortions in the African-American community,” she said. “African-American people are culturally pro-life. Generally, we have larger numbers of children than white people do. I was one of seven children. My mother was one of nine.

“But this is a silent killer among African Americans. We don’t talk about it. Millions of African Americans – including the black media – don’t know the statistics on this. We think, abortion must be a thing for white people because they are the only ones talking about it.”

For her, abortion is all about health. “Abortion is the Number One Killer of African Americans!” her Web site proclaims.

“Women who’ve had abortions have emotional issues and their breast cancer rates are higher,” she assured me. “Abortion is decimating us as a community.”

On June 11,1970, The Black Caucus issued a statement of withdraw from the First National Congress on Optimum Population and Environment, It read: “ The Black Caucus has withdrawn from the First National Congress on Optimum Population and Environment because of unmistakably clear evidence that the purpose of this conference is to use these delegates invited to legitimize a preconceived vicious plan of extermination. This plan is one of systematic reduction of a specific population, namely Blacks, other non-whites, the American poor and certain non-white and ethnic immigrants.” The statement was presented to a Press Conference by Felton Alexander, National Urban League and chairman of the Black Caucus and Dr. Alyce Gullattee, Psychiatrist from Washington D.C. The birth control pill was introduced at a time when scientists such as Arthur Jensen and William Shockley were promoting genetic explanations of racial differences in intelligence-test scores. During the 1960s and 1970s, thousands of poor black women were coercively sterilized under federally funded programs. Women were threatened with termination of welfare benefits or denial of medical care if they didn’t “consent” to the procedure. Southern blacks claimed that black women were routinely sterilized without their consent and for no valid medical reason—a practice so widespread it was called a “Mississippi appendectomy.” Teaching hospitals in the North also performed unnecessary hysterectomies on poor black women as practice for their medical residents. During this period, state legislators considered a rash of punitive sterilization bills aimed at the growing number of blacks receiving public assistance. .. Black concerns about family planning had arisen decades earlier during Margaret Sanger’s crusade for birth control. As Sanger allied herself with the burgeoning eugenics movement, the call for birth control veered away from its radical, feminist origins to include programs to regulate the poor, immigrants and blacks, based on theories of genetic inferiority and social degeneracy. Dr. Alan Frank Guttmacher, president of the ‘Planned Parenthood World Population Federation’, attended the session on the family and specified the real differential between white and non-white fertility rates. He made what appears to be a flippant comment that nevertheless, reflected his worries about the ‘wrong’ people having too many children: “You can’t make a person take contraception. 1965- At the White House Conference on Civil Rights sponsored by Lyndon Johnson, Cecil Moore made this attack on population control, “ And I have noticed that every time that we talk about population and planned parenthood, the only country I find that wants to limit poverty by limiting the poor- they always want to do it in Africa and South America and Asia , but I never heard them talk about doing it in Paris or England. 1968- William “Bouie” Haden and other Negro militants have accused the [ Planned Parenthood] clinic of propagating “black genocide.” It is operated by Planned Parenthood, a nonprofit international family planning agency…”The idea,” says Dr. Charles E. Greenlee, a Negro physician and a member of Haden’s group, “is to make less niggers so they won’t have to build houses for them.” Greenlee is chairman of the Health Committee is the Pittsburgh branch of the NAACP On December 4th of Last Year, He and Pittsburgh NAACP President, Byrd Brown , a Negro attorney, charged at a news conference that Planned Parenthood was keeping the Negro birth rate down. Greenlee and Brown also charged that the clinics were a not sanitary and lacked privacy. They said the agency was soliciting Negro women to take the Pill. Planned Parenthood denied the charges. 1970- Julian Bond, in a commencement speech at Syracuse University. Bond had become the director of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee, which he helped found. At the time of the speech, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Southern Conference Education Fund, of the Advisory Board of the proposed Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library, and of the Executive Committee of the Atlanta NAACP. Bond suggested that the intense interest in the ‘population bomb” could lead to genocide of black Americans and other poor people. Bond begins, ”If Mother Nature don’t get you, then Father Time will.” Now Dr. Ehrlich hastens to assure us that in spite of the fact that some of the white people who are talking up population control do mean population control of blacks, or the poor, or the Indians, like most racist plots this one is incompetent. …Do we, as black people, have legitimate cause for alarm? Has genocide ever been tried before? Yes it has. Has the United States government demonstrated its commitment to the defense of the interests of Black people? It has not. In a recent New York Times interview , Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg told Emily Bazelon that, “...I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.”

The “Populations” Ginsburg referred to in that interview is clearly defined in, Maafa21.

After this said, why are all these “gatekeepers” allowing all these breaches of  security and entrance???  We have heard recently of a shooting in Washington state and we see that the shooting never would have happened had the “gatekeepers” did their job and not let this “Cop Shooter” out of jail…

We here about how Pres. Obama should or should not send troops into Afganastan from several people… So where were all these people (gatekeepers) that are speaking out against these wars when “Bush” was in Charge???   Dahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh???

We heard recently about a father (gatekeeper) who took his little daughter to a drug infested home to an unfit mother, causing the little girl to get kidnapped, raped, and Killed…  So who is really the blame???   Dahhhhh???
It angers me when people (gatekeepers) neglect their responsibility and then want to blame others for the outcome…

Now we have Tiger Woods who had a minor single car accident early one morning where he was the only one that was injuried and the police are harrassing him…   Hey leave Tiger alone…  When I had a single car accident, it took the police several hours to get to me, and no new cameras showed up at all… 
What’s up with that???

Released In 1969, And Adapted From The Book By The Same Title, “The Learning Tree” Is An Autobiographical Offering By Parks. It Tells The Coming Of Age Story Of Newt Winger, A Young Black Boy Growing Up In Racist, Pre-Civil Rights Movement, Kansas, During The 1920’s.

Before Working In Motion Pictures, Parks Gained Notoriety As One Of The World’s Most Prolific Photo Journalists. His Photo Essays In “Life” Magazine Presented Some Of The Most Defining Images In American Culture.

Gordon Parks Also Had Success As A Musician, Poet And Composer. In Addition, He Left His Mark As A Social Activist. He Died March 7, 2006.

Affirmative action is an international principal established to ensure racial and ethnic minorities, underprivileged castes, women, the physically disabled and those who served in the military are not swallowed and promptly digested by whims of the majority.

“The intended beneficiaries of affirmative action in the United States include historically disadvantaged ethnic minorities, women, people with disabilities, and veterans”.

I viciously loathe how American Affirmative Action has subjugated and pigeon holed many in the black community.  Every black child seems to be pointed to a corner marked “disadvantaged”. Why wouldn’t many Americans look down on a people, who readily accept the idea?  Many black professionals, who earned high corporate positions from “brain power”, contend with achievements dismissed.  You can almost hear rationalizations “your achievement is the result of affirmative action – you did not earn anything, because it was given to you”.

I call all black Americans who do not want to be designated as “born disadvantaged”, stand now and demand reform, and at the very least, demand reform in hearts and mind.  You may live in a project apartment, suburb or gated mansion, it does not matter, by the power of your mind and courage, you achieve.

Do I need to tell you how people interested in controlling the black community, in fact, can and do maintain control using the worst ideology of affirmative action?  The formula is simple; many of you use the same formula on your pet dog.  If you want to control your dog during a walk, put him on a leash.  The pet is free to move around within the bounds of the leash.

Affirmative action is the leash and the black community is the dog.  The leash of affirmative action says “you cannot achieve anything unless “we” give you an opportunity” and once “we” help you “you work for “us” – never leave “our” side or suffer.  But, is that the truth and who is the “we”?  Some will say the “we” is the Democratic Party and in collusion with the Republican Party takes “real good care” of the black community, so the Republican Party can focus on other things.  Handling America’s race issue is another great compromise of two major political parties.  The Republicans give social/racial/etc responsibility and budgeted billions to Democrats, in return, the Democrats give energy/fuel responsibility and budgeted billions to Republicans. Both agree to argue about the other (for public show) but not necessarily interfere.

The double edged sword of affirmative action cuts both ways, its steel blade cuts though structured majority bias but simultaneously delivers a gash in the heart of the black American community.

Demand Affirmative Action reform, so the young black student with high GPA, great dreams and self motivation, has the right to fail, if he or she chooses not to accept a job given by Affirmative Action.  I am asking for an “opt out” for those that want to “opt out”.  I would like that young black student, once employed, to be able to exclaim, “I earned”.

Only the strong will survive and surviving by handouts is hardly surviving.  There are many places in the world that need an implementation of affirmative action, including some racially charged places in America.  That fact does not derail  the idea of an “opt out” , but pushes farther, in the direction of a  healthier black community and  a better America.

As if radical injustice is not enough – I’m now at my last straw, because I’m sick of media stories leading the black community around like obedient lap dogs. Media conglomerates realized long ago, that racially charged stories were pure gold. These stories generate viewership, which equal profits. All that’s needed is a racial event and anoint a black hero and start a fight. So many people use race conflicts to generate money – comedians, politicians, salespeople and entertainers. Police and media will exploit a simple local story of a black shoplifter and boldly proceed to use the story for leverage at city meetings, boldly stating how crime is taking the streets (pointing to any minority arrest) and request unplanned tax dollars and hire 12 additional cops. Money that would be used to improve schools instead funds needless guerilla police troops. The media company then plasters the black community “leader” on national news and the fiscal quarter moves from red to black with increased advertisers. Everyone watches, because at any moment, something big might be going down – white communities watching the coverage go out and buy every gun within reach. Now profits are up for other industries – it doesn’t end there, everyone is out to gain something from exploiting race tension. It doesn’t matter – race sells. I see white fear, and it supports a billion dollar gun industry buying artillery and guns by the truckload. Black fear is no better, somehow the community feels better, if a cop is fired or some executive loses a job – I suppose it’s calming – because it feels like there is some justice out there. But these few people going down in the race crimes are just black and white causalities, subject to the exploitation game. In reality, the only thing that matters is keeping the black community in a useful position. “The only justice is profit and profit by any means”. How is it progress when the race formula is repeated continually? Think back, this is the same old game, once the cameras are off, the big race story disappears. We act as lap dogs, responding to the master’s call, moving exactly and squarely to the spot designated. Give it a few hours, we return to poverty and self depreciation. There is self deception in the white and black community; I suppose that is one thing these communities do have in common. Fear is exploited on all sides and the poison is used to raise power and money. It’s true, I am at my last straw, but I fear this is the way it will be, so I better get more straws.

The words “black community” is an idea but not a reality. The narrow definition of a community is a group of people centralized with intent, belief, resources, preferences, needs, risks, and other conditions affecting the identity of the participants and their degree of cohesiveness. A small native tribe is a community, the black community is often reviewed as a tribe and I believe that analysis is the issue. The tribe mentality enforces “how a black person should act and do”. If you don’t fit in the model – you are in essence “anti-black”. The circus begins when black groups divide and define ideas, which maybe based on religious, political or even cultural differences.

It’s easy to invoke “tribe mentality” squarely in the center of every aspect of black community; ultimately, that same mentality will frustrate the thinking person. The thinking person will excel individually and abandon the black community, but in reality, he is abandoning the tribe mentality.
In time, the thinking person may self reflect on life and a genuine concern for his people may energize the soul. Perhaps he or she begins to write a book or becomes active in an organization.
He or she will submit perfect solutions for the so called black community. The translation of their solution, will only register with specific targets that speak the same language, essentially falling flat. The black community is diverse, vibrant and wealthy at top percentages, and also impoverish, self-deprecating and idle at lowest percentages. The range of achievement in the black community is no different from any other group in America. The problem for the black community is the tribe mentality, which limits ideology and possibilities. The tribe mentality is what keeps the poor from progressing and what also keeps the wealthy from investing. Both groups afraid of the other and I submit that this circular poison is what crushes the black community from growing outward.
Crush the tribe mentality and free the individual. Freed individuals will dream and implement innovation, which will expand horizons of Black American achievement. We read black history, but don’t comprehend that those named and unnamed black pioneers were visionary juggernauts, who were enslaved at the ankles, but never of the mind, rejecting mental shackles of the world, including the mental shackles of the black community. Today’s black Americans, who enforce rules of the tribe, are more destructive than they know. Don’t mock something different on the basis that is not from the tribe– the black community is not a tribe – the black community is individuals of many shades and ideas, independently weaving into a massive global infrastructure. One by one leaving impoverished communities and losing nothing, but gaining everything. The American black community is not destined to be fenced in 20 blocks around downtown, but destined to become inspiration for impoverished blacks all over the globe. Leave the tribe mentality behind and become aquatinted with the future.

I am certainly not in position to expound Holy Scriptures. I have skeletons in my closet I would rather not talk about; however, this one Christian scripture 1 Corinthians 13:11 has stuck with me since I first heard it. “When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me”.
I am older now, like many of you; I have done well in America. I am tucked away in a beautiful neigh hood with new schools and Saturday soccer games. My home is nothing like where I came from. I was born in the deep south outfitted with confederate racism and “all around” hopelessness. One muggy summer afternoon, I found myself presented with an opportunity. Of all the stupid mistakes I had made in my early 20s, I took advantage of one lucky break and moved away for an education.
Much like 1 Corinthians 13:11, I am not a child anymore and now a man. I think about my struggling family back home and my brothers and sisters all across America. I, for one, do not want to die without trying to give back to my community. I think that’s one reason many of us are blogging the best way we know how. Many of us speak from the heart and are honest activist for this great cause or another.
Without money, it is darn near impossible to do anything; including doing anything big that could help build a healthier black community. So, I find myself somewhat depressed about my lack of ability, listening to Coltrane or Miles, madly typing something or nothing on my laptop. Soon, my wife will burst into my office, yelling how the kids are not doing this or that. I will go upstairs and be a father and spend time with my wife discussing the sweet nonsense of our days. I will forget all about the issues of the black community, until tomorrow, when I read the news.
If I had funds to push my agenda for a healthier black community, I would build an organization and push these ten solutions with all my might:
1) Build world class professional trade schools in impoverished communities
2) Accelerate minority corporate ownership by providing private equity loans
3) Assist in monetary funding for qualified minorities to run for local and national public service
4) Be responsible for instilling noble values in minority youth and call out media entities that do otherwise
5) Create local and national programs that reward minority youth for keeping clean records
6) Start a national campaign to repair and heal the perceived relationship with police and judges.
7) Purchase real estate that can be used for farming, livestock and manufacturing facilities
Partner with attorneys nationwide and help pay fees for grossly unjust trial cases against minorities
9) Publish books, films, TV, music and other media products that disassemble negative black stereotypes
10) Provide fully paid tuition scholarships to the brightest minorities that seek advanced technical degrees

I put together 10 solutions that I believe will improve the health from head to toe in the black community. I believe these 10 solutions will enrich a great percentage of people and create generational wealth. I want to be able to look back and say “this is how it was and this is what I did to change it”. Now, all I need is an organization, a few bagillion dollars and 40 million willing and non-opposing people. Well, you know the worst thing about a dreamer ……………..is waking up. Hmmmp, maybe thinking like a child wasn’t so bad after all.

Every year in October we celebrate BLACK HISTORY MONTH.  In my opinion, black history is with us every second, minute, hour, week, month and year.  Each month Panther Newsletter’s Culture Corner will attempt to enlighten you with what they never told you in your history class.  Our story will be told right here – So enjoy the journey of clarification.

Not widely known but true…

MUSIC

Ludwig Van Beethoven the classical composer and musician was black.

Joseph Haydn another well-known composer and musician who wrote the music for the former Austrian National Anthem was also black.

HISTORICAL FACTS

Before Abraham’s birth, the sacred river of India, the River Ganges was named after an Ethiopian King  General Ganges who conquered Asia as far as this river and established an empire.

The most ancient lineage in the world is that of the Ethiopian Royal Family.  It is said to be older than that of Queen Elizabeth II by 6160 years.  The former Emperor of Ethiopia Haile Selassie I, traced his ancestry to King Solomon, the Queen of Sheba, Menelik I and beyond to Cush 6280 B.C.  (Song of Solomon I verse 6).

A black man was in the party of 6 who were the first to reach Antarctica in 1909.

There were Africans in Britain before the English!

MEDICINE

Imhotep, a black man was the real father of medicine.  Hippocrates, the so-called father of medicine lived 2000 years after Imhotep.  Greece and Rome obtained their knowledge of medicine from him.

Doctor Daniel Hale Williams, an African/American who died in 1931 was the first surgeon to perform a successful operation on the human heart.

FAITH AND RELIGION

There were three African Popes of Rome.  Victor I (189 – 199 A.D.) ;  Melchiades (311 – 312 A.D.) ; and St Gelasius (496 A.D.).  It was Melchiades who led Christianity to final triumph against the Roman Empire.

The celestial saint of Germany is St Maurice, an African.  While in command of a Roman legion in what is now Switzerland, in 287 A.D, he refused to attack the Christians when ordered to by the emperor Maximian Herculius, for which he was killed.  His picture is in many German cathedrals and museums, sometimes with the German national emblem, the eagle on his head.

Akhenaten

The beginning of religion was in Africa.  Pharaoh Akhenaten gave the world the belief  in one god.  In Egypt, he insisted that his people worship Aton, the Sun God only.  His beliefs were strong enough to completely change art and literature in Egypt.

WRITING

 Alexandre Dumas was one of the most famous French writers of the 19th century.  He is best known for his historical adventure novels like The Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo and The Man in the Iron Mask.  Dumas’ grandfather was a French nobleman who had settled in Santo Domingo, now part of Haiti.  His paternal grandmother, Marie Louise Cessette Dumas was African/Caribbean, who had been a slave in the French colony.

Alexander Pushkin (1799 - 1837)

Alexander Pushkin has become one of Russia’s national heroes.  Born in Moscow of African blood, portraits often tried to disguise his features.  His political verse got him exiled from Moscow in 1820 and his atheist opinions also hampered him.  Among his great works are the poem The Bronze Horseman (1833) and also the short story The Queen of Spades (1834).

FREEDOM FIGHTERS

Olaudah Equiano (1745 - 1797)

Olaudah Equiano was born in what is now Nigeria.  Kidnapped and sold into slavery in childhood, he was taken to the New World as a slave to a captain in the Royal Navy and later to a Quaker merchant.  He eventually earned the price of his own freedom by careful trading and saving.  As a seaman, he travelled the world.  When he arrived in London, he became involved in the movement to abolish the slave trade, an involvement which led to him writing and publishing The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavus Vassa the African (1789), a strong abolitionist autobiography.  The book became a bestseller and as well as furthering the anti-slavery cause, made Equiano a wealthy man.  Equiano’s passion, committment and energy to the anti-slavery cause, informed and inspired William Wilberforce, a religious English MP and social reformer to convince the British Empire to bring about the Slavery Abolition Act in 1833.

Frederick Douglass (1818 - 1895)

Frederick Douglass was best known for delivering stirring speeches about his life as a slave and he became a leading spokesman for the abolition of slavery and for racial equality.  The son of a slave woman and an unknown white man, “Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey” was born February 1818 on Maryland’s eastern shore.  He spent his early years with his grandparents and with an aunt, only seeing his mother five times before her death when he was seven.  During this time Douglass was exposed to the degradations of slavery, witnessing firsthand brutal whippings and spending much time cold and hungry.  When he was eight he was sent to Baltimore to live with a ship carpenter named Hugh Auld.  There he learned to read and first heard the words abolition and abolitionists.  Living in Baltimore laid the foundations and opened the gateway to his prosperity. 

Douglass won world fame when his autobiography was published in 1845.  Two years later he began publishing an antislavery paper called North Star.  He served as an advisor to President Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War and fought for the adoption of constitutional amendments that guaranteed voting rights and other civil liberties for black people.  Douglass provided a powerful voice for human rights during this period of American history and is still revered today for his contributions against racial injustice.

Oliver O. Howard

The Howard University Theological Seminary Was Founded On November 20, 1866, By General Oliver O. Howard, Commissioner Of The Freedman’s Bureau.

Howard Seminary Was Established In An Abandoned Dance Hall And Beer Saloon “for the education of youth in the liberal arts and social sciences.“

Today Called Howard University, It Has Become The Nation’s Largest Historically Black University, With A Campus Covering 89 Acres, In Urban Northeast Washington, DC. Currently More Than 10,000 Students Are Enrolled, 88 Percent Of Whom Are Black American.

Howard’s First Black President Was Mordecai Wyatt Johnson. He Is Credited With Transforming The University Into An Institution Of National Distinction.

Lincoln “Stepin Fetchit” Perry

Comic Actor, Lincoln Theodore Monroe Andrew Perry, AKA Stepin Fetchit, Died On November 19 1985 From Pneumonia. He Was 83 Years Old.
Considered The “Father Of Black Film, Stars,” And The First Black Entertainer To Become A Millionaire, Perry Began His Career Working With Partner, Ed Lee, As The Vaudeville Team, Step ‘N Fetchit: Two Dancing Fools From Dixie.

The Two Took Their Name From A Horse Perry Had Won A Bet On In Oklahoma, In The 1920’s. Perry Kept The Name When He Went Solo.

In 1929 Perry Played “Gummy” In The Hollywood Film, Hearts In Dixie. He Was The First Black Actor To Get Feature Billing In A Hollywood Movie. He Went On To Appear In Some 50 Films.

Stepin Fethchit’s Stereotypical Characters — Often Lazy, Dumb, Klutzy, Stammering, No-Good And Shuffling, Won Him Stardom., But Generated Criticism, Too. And While The Roles He Played Were Less Than Flattering, Perry Has To Be Considered A Film Pioneer.

In 1976, The Hollywood Branch Of The NAACP Awarded Him A Special Image Award As A Cinematic Trailblazer. He Was Inducted Into The Black Filmmakers Hall Of Fame In 1978. And He Also has A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

This is really some interesting stuff…  It has been a minute since I have been encouraged to write but (big I’m back but in the room) I’m Back…  
So let’s get right at it…

Aint this some stuff that the news media  has there “panties in a wedgie” over how far The Pres bent over to greet the Japanese Emperor… 
What is that about???
If I were a comedian I would say something like:

“If you are hated for “bowing” ,as custom, to the Japanese Emperor in his own country…  Chances are you are a “Black man!!!” ”
“If  you are hated for  inheriting  the worst economy in modern history, tackle it with the vigor of a genius, and have kept this country afloat…  Chances are you are a “Black man!!!”"”
“If you are hated for not making a haste decision with the use of force in foreign wars you did not start…  Chances are you a “Black Man…”"

Wow…
Aint that some stuff…  Check it…  George Bush was one of the most arrogant presidents this country has known since Truman…   Culturally Speaking, Pres. Obama came into the office with two stricks against him already…  I am sure you can figure both of them out on your own…  Inspite of this, he has reestablished our respect around the world and stopped the bleeding of a “comatose economy…” 
So to the News Media (not just Fox News); “Give – him – a – Break!!!”

That felt good…  I needed to get that of my chest… 
So to the other story that is hawking the news –

That is some deep stuff…  So here is what the “Grape Vine” is saying about “Little Ms Davis;” “How could the father return that little girl to those horrific conditions if he knew that DSS had already been involved in that household???”  Now that is a question for “Nancy (Amazing) Grace” to ask…  Hummmmmmm???
And now DSS is trying to figure out where the ball was dropped, but (big fat I heard the new director on the radio a while back but in the room) the new the director aint no joke…  Believe me the “sista-girl” is not going to let this “stuff” fall back in her lap without some explainations…  DSS has the responsibility, outside of the police dept, to do their own thorough investigation…  Knowing her, “Amazing Grace” get ready, there is a bombshell coming…  It is going to be one of those – “Oh Sh_t!!!”
I will keep you posted from the grapevine…  Fayetteville is a very small bedroom community in which the military mentality is the strongest…  Prior military never see the obvious but (great big whooooa but in the room) are already looking for the roadside - minefield - boobytrap that can “blow-up” in your face…

“Why you ain’t got a man,” by Prof. Miller Lucky Jr.  is out and the talk…  Essense stated a few issues back that black women have less that a 33% chance of marrying ever  in life…  That is a scary stat, especially if  you are one of those women and want to marry…  Prof. Lucky says, the reason for this is because Black Women are asking the wrong people for advise…  Themselves…  The answer has to be with “Black Men…”

On November 18, 1992, The Spike Lee Directed Movie, “MALCOLM X,” Was Released To A Nationwide Audience. The Film Was Based On The Book, “The Autobiography Of Malcolm X,” Written By Alex Haley, In Collaboration With Malcolm X, And Published In 1965.

The Controversial Film Starred Oscar-Award-Winning Actor, Denzel Washington In The Lead Role. It Also Featured The Talents Of Angela Bassett (As Betty Shabazz), Al Freeman, Jr. (As Elijah Muhammad), Delroy Lindo (As West Indian Archie) Lonette McKee (As Louise Little) And Spike Lee (As Shorty).

The Movie Chronicles Malcolm’s Life — From His Days As A Young Hustler And Criminal — To His Rise As The Most Visible And Outspoken Figure In The Nation Of Islam During The 1960s. The Film Ends With His Assassination At New York’s Audubon Ballroom, In 1965.Warner Brothers Originally Selected Canada’s, Norman Jewison ( “In The Heat Of The Night” Director, 1967) To Direct “MALCOLM X,” Spike Lee Felt Strongly That A Black Director Should Tell The Story Of One Of History‘s Most Influential Black Leaders. Public Outcry Over The Selection Of Jewison Pressured The Studio Into Finally Giving The Project To Lee.

When The Studio Refused To Give Spike Lee The More Than $30 Million He Requested To Complete “MALCOLM X,” He Used $2 Million Of His Own $3 Million Salary. He Called On Other Prominent Black Personalities For Financial Help As Well. Those Who Donated Money Included: Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby, Prince, Michael Jordan, Janet Jackson And Magic Johnson.

“MALCOLM X” Grossed $9,871,125.00 On Its Opening Weekend. The Film Made $48,169,610.00 — Making It One Of Spike Lee’s Most Successful Film Projects. Many Critics Consider Denzel Washington’s Portrayal Of Malcolm X His Best Performance To Date.

Rex Noseworthy over at The City Paper drops the story:

A calendar/poster produced by the R.H. Boyd Publishing Corp. inadvertently directs parents of Metro students to call a phone sex hotline instead of the publishing company.

The school calendar, titled “Guiding Lights,” was produced for Black History Month and features prominent African-Americans of major national and/or historical importance.

Nice one.  At least we can’t lay this one at Metro’s doorstep; it looks like the publishing house, in printing its own contact information, got a few digits off.  Oops!

Two and a half months since I paused, halfway through the offering formula!  I’m surprised you’re still here.  I’ve been off to Egypt and back in September, and writing (and giving) lectures on Egypt and Africa and Black Pharaohs for Black History Month in October, and time has just whizzed by for me.  Meanwhile, you’ve been sitting there twiddling your mummified thumbs.  It must have seemed like an eternity.

I am very sorry.  How about if I give you

khet nebet nefret wabet ankhet netjer im; everything good and pure by which a god lives.

Anything, in fact, that the most discerning of gods would demand to be served, poured, wafted or sprinkled around his altar .  As you’ll recall, the deceased person has already been offered bread, beer, meat, fowl, alabaster and cloth at his or her offering table.  The third line of the offering formula is a catch-all clause, to make sure the deceased lacks nothing he or she may want in their eternal dining room.  After all, you don’t want to spend eternity making lists of everything you wish you’d ordered, trying to kick yourself for not thinking of it before (and getting even more frustrated because your legs are bandaged together).  So they had line three as a kind of divine etcetera, etcetera, etcetera – very The King and I or, in this case, The God and I.
