I will not be voting for Sarah Palin if she chooses to run for the office of President or Vice President. The simple reason is not just ideological hmmmm…. but truthfully, I am not a Republican any longer–though still registered as one, have no enduring interest in the party and their antics, and voted for Obama. More importantly though, I simply do not think Palin has the educational background to prepare her for such a critical office. I would have supported a woman like Snowe for the position of VP.

However, that being said, I respect Palin and she is one of the few women including Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton, that I have respect for.

I do not think Palin is right AT ALL in deliberately misinterpreting the Healthcare plan of the President nor do I think she is right in the manner in which she attacked Candidate Obama during the Presidential elections, however, say what you will about Palin, she is down right indomitable and reminds me of GIGANTOR<<this was a cartoon I watched as a child.

A lot of good WOMEN have a LOT to learn from Palin’s resilience and singular determination to live life on her own terms. She does exactly what she wants to do and as we have seen, she believes she can do anything she sets her mind on and that attitude is priceless.

In my continued quest for JUSTICE to make sure the scam artist “Eve Sharon Moore” of the website “Black female Interracial marriage blog” and her accomplice, the low life criminal “Akbar Shabazz” of the website www.akbarshabazz.com are jailed, I have heard the stories of so many many women who simply allow criminals like Moore and Shabazz to violently rob them of their lives and the right to live as they please.

Shabazz and Moore have violently and brutally wiretapped me,  stolen from me , tracked my life through telepghnic and other means and viciously  display with great aplomb the illegally obtained material while they track me from site to site. They do the same thing to many innocent women and children and yet, these felons, to date, are FREE.

Why women are targeted??? This is why I respect Palin. Here is the reason. It is because a whole load of these Sociopaths believe women make easier targets and the sheer force and tenacity of Palin in the face of the odds she faces, proves that the attitude of women, some women, to problems, crisis and criminals, is in fact learned!

Online crimes against the person are usually crimes of desperation, economic, personal or plain psychopathic. They are the same as serial murderers and other predators the world over. Pedophilia, incest and rape are all similar in form and is probably being committed by these vagrants. There is no reason these people should still be free, uninvestigated, unprosecuted and unpursued by the press! None whatsoever!

The best quality in Sarah Palin, despite the fact that I do not agree with her political positions, and still remain an ardent supporter of President Obama, is that she is TOUGH and strong! She does not shrink away in fear or concern when things are thrown against her but continues to go on with an incredible zest which over time has earned her my respect.

For the past Nine years, my entire computer usage has been tracked, I have been followed and tracked by telephonic and other means, my phones (home and cellphones) been activated and used as listening device, my family and friends have been contacted and stalked by this felon and her accomplice and to date this woman, “Eve Sharon Moore” of the scam website “Project 21″ remains free! This felon also owns numerous scam organizations and uses a host of aliases, technology, illegal wiretaps, alteration of legitimate websites, mail fraud, terrorism, theft and eavesdropping to mislead, deceive and rob unwitting members of the public.

I have met many women who have been hounded by Shabazz and Moore types and some of these women have lost their very lives to these vile gutter snipes because when faced with resistance and opposition, they withdraw… WHY????????? It is crazy to pull back from that which is YOURS… We defend our liberties in the USA and as individuals, we cannot deny ourselves that same right. Being female should be a positive and not a cop out from staying the course.

Palin’s dogged determination is certainly worth emulating and if like me you are being violently TARGETED by online THUGS Shabazz and Eve Sharon Moore (felons who contribute to the Associated Press using numerous pseudonyms) criminals whose prosecution and incarceration drive you daily, then you need to be stoic like Palin. Have the soul of an athlete… STAY THE COURSE.

My Dad always spoke about the inevitability of fate, one’s own fate and I believe in it. When circumstances are thrust your way.. it may not be for a reason, but you could certainly get a LOT of good from evil being thrown at you. As an example, if you identify a RAPIST as I have identified Moore and Shabazz, to relent in your quest to inform the world and stop such felons from continuing to criminalize you is to deny the wealth of your fate and by so doing alter the course of your growth as an individual and in fact, your entire life.

There is a reason why serial criminals like “Eve Sharon Moore” get caught at the end…they get caught because they are what they are which is a bunch of low life scum bags. They also get caught because of the indomitable human spirit of people who are targeted, those in law enforcement who are truly committed to routing criminals and those in the press who seek to share the TRUTH.

Bottom line, Palin is worth emulating to the extent that she is single minded and focused on achieving her goals. While you may not agree with her goals, the fact remains that many women are socialized to curl up like children when they are faced with GRAVE injustice. I think such a response is unnatural and learned. Be like me, when you are violently targeted by criminals be unrelenting in your quest for justice. Be tenacious and focused. You will get justice in the end.

Women like Palin, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Olympia Snowe and so many others who forge ahead no matter what are worth emulating to the extent that they are driven by a desire to live life on their own terms. I can assure you that NONE of these women whom I have mentioned in this paragraph with slink away from a criminal because she uses technology to commit heinous acts against them.

Be assured that Hillary Clinton will go for the jugular and rip the throat out of anyone who violently targets her or any member of her family and commits crimes against them. For any good woman reading this, remember these women are just like you, and you too can REFUSE to be stopped in your singular desire to live as you wish.

It is your right to seek justice. It is your right to stand up for yourself. It is your right to forge ahead in pursuit of what is RIGHT, JUST AND MORAL. Being female should provide greater impetus to say NO to brutality from anyone who seeks to violate you!

I rarely read the newspaper…and have stopped watching television.   So, the means that I accquire the news these days is usually when I go up over the net and see a news flash.   Most of the time I pay little attention to them…but then there are those which draw me in.  And I find myself having to read the story…and not out of  real interest…but because I find the headline hard to believe.

Today, I came across one of  those attention grabbing headlines.   The headline read something like this…‘Gang Rape and nobody helped.’

How could such a thing happen?

What has happened to mankind?

The incident took place during a high school homecoming dance outside in some alleyway or something on the school grounds…for 2 hours long this raping continued.  And kids stood around watching, while others  jumped in to participate while a 15 year girl was repeatedly  raped  by up to as many…if  not more than 15 to 20 people  who in some way participated in this incident  or  stood  by watching.

What would possess somebody to stand around and want to cheer on or watch such a thing?

Why didn’t someone call for help?

Or run and go tell somebody?

What is going on in the minds of our young people that they could get caught up in such a thing…and then become party to it by standing around and doing nothing…or worst…jump in and become more than a watcher?

Everyone of those kids should be pulled into court…and facing some type of charges. 

Many were busy lighting up their cell phones taking pictures of the crime…and even videotaping it…a type of criminal voyeurism.   But no one called for help…or tried to stop what was going on.

I cannot imagine such a thing.  There is not anything that I can see going on…that I would not try to stop…or somehow  help in some way.  I have seen men fighting their girlfriends…and gotten involved.  I have stopped fights between kids.  I have gotten between mama-bady-daddy drama.   And did it  because  I just can’t turn a blind eye to anything that I feel is wrong…or harmful…or potentially dangerous to someone.

I don’t have a fear of getting involved.  But I know that many people do not think like this.   And I know that many people may feel that I am putting my ownself  in jeopardy.   And if  I stopped to considered that…I might act like everybody else. 

But I am glad that  I do not.  I’ve  got nieces and nephews…and a son  that  I have to think about.   I just don’t want anything to happen to them.    So, let me try to clean up the problems now.   Later might be too late…for them and me.

But how could I not help somebody?

Or try to?

But I have never ran towards anything in order to be an observer…not even as a child.

That is something which I cannot understand.  Why would I run towards gun fire to see what is going on…or just to see who got shot…and laugh excitely about  it?

Now, that is stupid to me.

Or, why would I rush to see people fighting?

That’s dumb. 

If  anything…I go to see if  I can help…and whenever I am near a fight I go to break it up.    Not to laugh and cheer anything on.

But this is the mentality of  people…and it is definitely the mentality of  of  the kids.   Everything is a  joke…or funny.   But somebody being raped…or killed is not a joke.  And certainly not funny…nor is it entertainment.

This kind of thinking is dangerous for all mankind.  If  the new group of adults coming into this world are a bunch of  desensitized robots…uncaring…unfeeling…unthinking…uncompassionate ids….where will this world be?

How safe will any of us be…as the world falls into their hands?

I once had a lover who had been gang raped and sodomized…and who knows whatever else.    But I cannot tell you the impact it left upon her…and her life.   Every time she went to the bathroom she re-lived that situation.   That thing lived with her…it was in her insides and something she could not shake.   Though she was successful…as an actress…and part-time music teacher…that incident marked her private life.    That gang rape greatly colored her life in the in-between time.

She was not big in size…small  stature.  So, I can imagine just how helpless she must have felt…not to mention the terror of  it.    She never really talked about it except to say that it had happened.   And I did not push it.

So, how could someone…20 or more people witness something like that and not do anything?

How could we…any of  us be safe if everyone walking around us only cares about themselves…and have no compassion for anyone else?

There is a great need for serious consideration to be given for where will mankind be and the type of world and societies will dominate this planet in the next 20 to 30…or 50 years from now.   Everyting is a joke.   Blood…rape…murder…crimes of every conceivable kind and inconceiveable kind are happening today…and very high rates…escalated rates.  And nobody is paying attention to it. 

And not only a need for serious consideration…but something has to be done now regarding the attitude of  our youth to crime and criminal acts.  And high officials should be concerned now about what affects desensitizing our teens to blood and criminal acts via  computer games, movies, music videos etc.  will have upon the increase of  future criminal acts and the types of crimes prepetrated…and to what degree these crimes are acted out.

Some feel that the lack of anyone getting involved had to do with fear.  But if  their  fear is that great…then they should fear how much worst it is going to be  if  people continue to allow criminal acts to take place without something being done  now. 

FEAR?

They don’t have any fear yet…let the criminals continue acting out as they are acting out.

Fear only empowers those perpetrating the crimes.  Fear is the biggest thing that they have going for them.  That is why the Bible says….‘Fear not.’

The last thing you want to do…even with an animal…is appear to be afraid.  Or in other words…fearful. 

What happens when fear is taken out of the equation?

Then you have power…because the power ceases to be in the hands of  him or them that are trying  to terrorize you.   It is one of the first lessons you learned really early in life.   Usually while you were in grade school when it came to bullys…who  were  only as big and as bad as you let  them be.   But did you ever finally stand up to one…and saw how quickly the tables  turned around between you and them? 

While living in Chicago…I was at wits end.  I was being stalked…something I would suggest that no one try to do today.  Because I am no longer that person…believe me. 

But I became a nervous wreck under that situation.  My fear  absorbed me…totally.  I was well on my way to having a nervous breakdown behind it…had it not been for the Lord.  I could not walk down the street without stopping everytime I heard someone walking behind me.   Being  in  a large city like Chicago…this happened quite often as someone was always behind me…just not  normally  the person who was terrorizing me.     In the evening when I went home…I would throw open the door  to my apartment before entering and step in like police detectives…leaving the door wide open behind me.   I would go  from room to room peering  in trying to make sure no one was in my apartment…which definitely left me open for the person to enter into my apartment behind me.  But when fear has you…it has you…and you do not think clearly.   And when you are not thinking clearly…you leave yourself open  to a whole of  the things… anything can  happen to you.

I was tormented by fear.   So much so…that by the time I finally got through it I vowed never again.  I lived  in darkness…afraid to turn on my lights in apartment at night…afriad to answer the phone (it was at a time before Caller-ID).  I will never go back to being in that state again.   Under any circumstances…or by anyone.

But at the end…the tables turned.   It took a dramatic turn…and had not God intervened I might probably be in prison now…and there for the rest of my life.  Because I would have killed the person.  I snapped…and in my snapping the tables turned…and my perpetrated went fleeing from me.  When I think of it now…it is so  Biblical….‘and I will make you enemies flee 7 ways before thee.’   And that is when it ended…when I finally stood up to the person…the phone calls…the following …the threats….everything…and I vowed ‘never…ever again’

And I have never feared anything…or anyone ever again.

And this is how I know how big a weapon fear is. 

And those who use it…count upon it being so.   They dominate neighborhoods…housing complexes…streets…cities…etc…using fear.

So, the more that people cease to do anything…if  indeed they are fearful…because I believe that most of  them just don’t care…as long as it doesn’t involve them or their family.    But those who are fearful of  doing  something to stop or aid somehow a victim of a criminal act…the more you empower those who perpetrate the crimes.  Thereby, in the end causing yourself  a greater harm…because you did nothing.  And those that you fear become stronger and more  more  aggressive if they are allowed to continue.   It is an unending situation…better to deal with it sooner rather than later. 

If  nobody cares about your neighborhood…then you should.   Because you do live there too.   And you should never allow anybody to chase you up or down a street…or make you run…or have you afraid to leave your home.

What happens when you become the victim?

And you will…one way or another…if you allow crime to fester unrestrained…or  actively sought to be kept down.

I was pretty sick reading about that man who had imprisoned his own daughter in a very small basement space for over 20 years of her life…breeding kids with her.   And all of this while living just above his daughter in the house with his wife…her mother.  That story made me sick for such a long time…so much so I could not talk about it…much less write about it.  But it is an example of the type of stories that we are reading and hearing about today.  But if this is what is going on today…hideous crimes…stomach turning crimes.  How much worst will these stories become in the future…if this trend continues?

Criminal activity is on an increase everywhere…and  much of it  we  never even hear about until somebody leaks something.  And many others  because the value of the poor people who have  fallen into the hands of some very sick people…well, their lives were just not worth looking into.

So, no investigation were ever initiated.

Take for instance, this story….

It is very unfortunate when police officials pick and chose who is or is not worth looking for.  So many people go missing without the police going out to look for them while they might have been found yet alive.  But if  they…any of  these poor women in this story been some rich socialites, or high city officials   or lawyers…or  anybody with any degree of  money or some type of clout…no amount of expense or time would have been spared on their behalf.

There is an imbalance in the world…and it stretches all the way around the world.

I know I have told this story in an earlier blog here… www.bsmith101.wordpress.com.   It is when one night…late  night…actually early morning…when my cousin, Vincent, was on his home from having been out clubing.  As he neared his apartment…in the dark of night he heard a woman scream out for help.   He went running in the direction on the cries and came upon the woman and her perpetrator.  He grab the man and flung him to the ground…and then held him down until the police came.

My cousin was a very tall and handsome gay male.  I have no doubt that most of  his life he had to deal with people snickering about him as he was very effeminate.  But he never hesitated to step aside for a woman…or get get up to offer his seat to a woman or elderly person… or help you remove your coat…or pull out your chair and hold it for you as you sat down.  He was more a man than most ’so-called’ real men.  And not only  was  he a very nice…but also a very decent person…and caring in every way.  He really was someone who would give you the shirt off his back.  And if  it cost him…he gave to you regardless if he had suffer.

You could not have met a better person than him.

He would have never ran towards a fight to stand and watch it…but to pull the people apart.   Nor would he have stood around and watched a young girl or anyone being raped.  I wish I had a picture of  him…to put in this blog.  He was a hero.   And we need more like him.

Reggie Jackson of the New York Yankees was the same way.  His name had found its way  into  news headlines for more than baseball…more than once because of some act of  heroism on his part…when went to the aid of someone.

More people need to do it…and things would change.  Just think of 9/11…what not would have happened if the people on those first 2 airplanes had been more like the people on that  3rd airplane?

In looking up information of the gang rape…I happened to come by this story.   Though I had seen this picture of this woman many times…I never knew her story.  But it is sick.  In fact, it is more like beastiality.

She is a socialite…who married a man…wealthy man.   He had built a jungle on his property and had a great love for his cats…the type known as ‘lions.’   So, as she started to age and as a means of re-capturing his attention she decided to disfigure herself  like this purposely.  She is called the ‘lion woman.’   Because she went under the knife to have her face disfigured into that of a lion.

It is beastiality…in its highest form.

I think she likes it even more now…with all the attention that having it  done has  given her.   Talk about… what women won’t do.   Nobody is worth destroying yourself  for. 

What a sick mind…and it truly shows what having too much money and nothing concrete to do with it…can bring about.

Finally, in closing… I got an comment today on my Chastity Bono blog…which has been getting a tremedous amount of  hits lately.   This particular person was very disenchanted with my statements regarding Chastity and her sex change.  But he used a very interesting word while stating his point.  

That word was…    ‘transitioning.’  

Interesting…indeed.   

Transitioning…

Evidently, this person  felt that Chastity’s…or Chaz as she is calling herself these days…decision to undergo that surgery to remove somethings and to add some other things…   Well, that it is just a simple  little transition in life.   To a degree we  all  have to go through some transitioning  in our lives, I guess… overcoming some disappointments…some losses…some set-backs…aging….etc.   But the  altering of  ones sex is a bit more deeper  than a simple little transitioning phase.  And  I think most would agree with me about that.

I was reading something on a  quakco doctor…one that performs a lot of these type of  operations…sex changes…who is now a supposed woman himself.  After having undergone the operation himself  many years ago…it seems that all of his partners have been women who ‘underwent the operation.’   He became a woman…and they became supposed men.  Which means…they kind of  ended up in the same kind of situation that they would have been in…in the first place had they merely remained what they already were. 

Sick…

I wouldn’t let anybody who is not clear headed put a knife to me.  Most of these surgeons are quakes and definitely…these so-called plastic surgeons. 

We are living in a sick world…truly.   And we should all be concerned about where this world is going…meaning….in which direction it is headed in.   Things are being turned upside down.

And I am not really trying to pass judgement on anyone.  Because we all do crazy things…and years later wake up having  lots of regrets.  I still regret some things…many things in fact.  And in the process I have grown.  But thank goodness I did nothing that committed me for my whole entire life to a big mistake.  I was fortunate…no bless…because many can’t say that.

We can’t change people’s decisions about things concerning themselves…and what it is or isn’t that they want to do.   Nor can we  force things down people’s throats…or should we try.  That is one of the greatest beauties of  God…choice.   He desires that we should have it…and with the hope that we make the right ones.

Well, the day is almost over.  Its been quiet and I am trying to finish up on some things.  I want to complete some things before the new year comes in.  I want my book, THE BISHOP’S WIFE, to be out and available for sale…my website launched.  And a couple of  other things settled too.

So, I am looking forward to transitioning into 2010…working on some other  and new  things.  And to be well on my way to doing more for the Lord.

Spike Lee Calls Tyler Perry A Coon

As usual,Spike Lee, a corny, arrogant, uppity, elitist ,hypocrite Morehouse graduate is trying to declare himself as the arbiter of all that is black in the film and T.V. business, and in doing so has set the African-American filmmaker back to the days of segregation, as he has, with all the low-class flare that is so intrinsic in Morehouse graduates, lambasted wildy succesful filmmaker, Tyler Perry, over the content of his films and T.V. shows,and has dismissed Tyler Perry as an Uncle Tom who is perpetuating ”Coonery” and ”Bufoonery”with his entertainment properties.

Sounds like Spike Lee is jealous once again, that another African-American filmmaker would have the nerve to be successful in the same arena, that Spike has failed in,and that is making a profitable and entertaining library of T.V. and film properties.

He is also mad that Tyler Perry has been able to own his own projects, his own studio production facilities, and has a financially sound independent production company that is not reliant upon the so-called ”white man” feeling sorry for black people or not.

He has got to know that the only way he gets to have one of his boring projects funded is by scaring the white executives in to believing that they would be labeled as racist if they did not give in to his childishness.

I saw little Spike Lee, who Arsenio and I call ”Spud Flea” at the student Academy Awards in Beverly Hills in 1983 with his father, and the both of them were hanging with me all night, and were very cool ,especially his dad, but by the second time we encountered each other in 1990, he was insulting to my date because she was a light skin girl, and he just dissed me, which I took offense to. We  were all in the V.I.P. section of a club, and he was sitting at our table after we had been there for some time.

They had to call security on us, because Spike is a little guy, who has a little man’s complex, that he can not physically back up.

So, for full disclosure, I do not have any respect for him. He just talks trash, and hopes that his fame protects him from getting a beat down.

If you follow his dispute, all of them are with other black celebrities, and his main complaint, is that we are not as black as he is. He has called out Arsenio Hall, Eddie Murphy, Whoopi Goldberg, Master P, and now Tyler Perry.

He is the Benedict Arnold/Judas for the African-American entertainer and filmmaker.

In 1991, when he was a guest editor for Entertainment Weekly, he took the opportunity to write a couple of articles blasting Arsenio for not being black enough like him, and called him an uncle Tom.

Now, he has gone after Tyler Perry, who is well-loved and respected, as he is providing creative opportunities for black writers, actors, and craft people.

This makes Spike mad, as he only seems to hire his family members, old friends, a lot of white people, of course, and he has no hope of owning any of his copyrights or negatives to his films.He knows that he would lose money on his own projects, just like any studio that has ever invested in his special form of melodrama.

CBS news, on tomorrows 60 minutes program has this report on the feud started by the classless Spud, I mean Spike Flee…

In an interview earlier this year, Lee attacked Perry’s two cable television sitcoms about black families, saying “I think there’s a lot of stuff out today that is coonery and buffoonery,’ referring directly to Perry’s TBS programs “Meet the Browns” and “House of Payne.” “I’m scratching my head. We’ve got a black president. Are we going back?”

Says Perry, “You know, that pisses me off. It really does. Because it’s so insulting. It’s attitudes like that which make Hollywood think that these people do not exist and that’s why there’s no material speaking to them,” he tells Pitts. “I would love to read that to my fan base.”

Perry first tried to speak to that black audience years ago when he went to Hollywood to get his hit plays produced as films. He was rejected and wound up using his own money to start what became one of the biggest independent film companies in the U.S.

Now, this next quote from Tyler is what makes Spike jealous. He knows that he is basically locked in to the slave mentality, and if the ”white man” does not give in to his incessant begging and pleading, he is totally stopped.

Not Tyler.The next quote s something that you will never hear from Spike Lee again, ever since he became ”THE” epitome of a black filmmaker…

“They didn’t open the door. I had to cut a hole in the window to get in,” Perry tells C.B.S.

Spike Lee wants to plug that hole, and get rid of Tyler Perry, as he has been doing to black filmmakers, actors, and artist  for his whole career.

Why does he feel the need to sabotage other black filmmakers, I do not know. At this point, he is definitely the black filmmakers version of Kanye West.

African-Americans are a diverse group of people who have different taste. It is in bad taste that Spike chooses to chastise other filmmakers in is profession as if he has the authority to do so.

Didn’t his parents ever tell him, if you d not have anything good to say, do not say anything at all.

Interestingly enough, I have noticed that he never says these types of things directly to the person’s face that he is disrespecting, but always through the mass media. He does not even seek out the black press to disrespect us in, but crawls directly to the ”whitemans” media, as he calls it, to stab us all in the back, just like a good little slave.

Given all of these facts, it is fair to deem Spike Lee a coon himself, definitely a hypocrite, just like the rest of his suit wearing corny uppity, Jack and Jill, homophobic alumnae of Morehouse college.

Madea is an obese, authoritative woman Perry plays in drag and Leroy Brown is a good-natured simpleton. They star in his eight films, five of which have opened at number one in box office receipts. Collectively, the films have earned $418 million – one of the highest per-film averages in the industry.

Spike Lee’s movies have been critically acclaimed, but famously have lost money for the studios, rather than made it.

That is truly the underlying problem that Spike has with Tyler Perry, whom he has never met, or spoken to personally.

Now,who is the buffoon and coon….

I have long held Chicago as being one of the most dangerous places I have ever lived in.  The level and the types of crimes I found there far exceeded and surpassed any I had ever encountered anywhere else…including New York.

While following this story as best as I could…being that I no longer watch TV or ever take out the time to read any newspapers.  I was stunned while standing in the laundromat doing my laundry this week.  When the story came up as an indepth report.   But that is not what stunned me…but hearing that there had been 40 murders of young people in Chicago this year alone.  That was not only stunning but shocking to me.

How could a problem such as gang or teen violence be so far out of controll?

Though in Chicago…gang activity involves more than just teens…as 30 and 40 year old men…and I guess maybe women (and young girls)…are involved in gangs.  They actively recurit seeking out new members wherever they want to.

When I lived in Chicago, Dr. Reynolds (Dr. A. L. Reynolds of 6th Grace United Presbyterian Church) told me how they…some gang members had threaten to take his life.  And had annouced to him that they were going to come into his church to take who they wanted.  That is the kind of pressure that many face in Chicago.  They are under the constant threat of malicious malice by gangs…daily facing violence and all kinds of gang related activity.   With the gangs believing that they control everything… and everyone.

The problem is greater than the issue of ‘black-on-black crime.’   By far greater.  It is one of hate… and hating in particular of seeing someone… anyone raise above the preceived notions or standards of degradation… which many wallow in urban ghettos.

There has always been this problem of  black folks hating to see other black folks moving ahead…or getting further in life than themselves.  But I guess this trait is something which is in many…meaning that it is human in nature. 

When you consider history where several pockets of successful black folk, business owners, who were killed and burnt out of their homes and business prior to the 1960’s.  One such group was in Tulsa, Oakahoma, in 1921…and another in 1923 in Rosewood, Florida…as well as, other places.   But what happened to them happened because they were black…successful…and the communities in which they lived (their black communities) were flouishing… growing.    They became booming and profitable…too booming and too profitable.  

These 2 massacres, one known as the Rosewood Massacres and the other as the Tulsa Riots…were the burning out of and hanging of black folks.   They were not the acts of black- against-blacks.  But they were the product of white people against black people.   And these acts were very violent…and came about as a means of terrorizing the black people in their areas…as well as, a means to destroy everything that they had…and to  keep those ‘Negros’  in their  place.  Meaning…not thinking they were like white people…or equal to white people.  

I guess you could sort say that those boys that attacked Derrion Albert…beating him across the head with railroad irons, kicking and stomping at him…appeared to have had simular sentiments.  They wanted to keep him down.  Wanted to make an example of him…to others who might think like him…or desire to be like him.  Others who got ideas about learning…and achieving…and leaving the ghetto behind them.

Considering the nature of man…that we would all be salvage beast except for the grace of God.  When you think of  the type of violence that the kids regularly watch and have become desentized to via movies, television, videos and video games…there is little wonder that we are seeing all of what we are seeing today.   Kids out on the streets banding together to attack one another…whether it is East Coast or West Coast…or Central America…their is a big problem with it.   Kids taking pleasure is beating down somebody…and everybody running to watch.  Or walking into schools or in college classrooms and shooting down everybody.  It is all very much the same whether it be in Columbine, Colorado or South Side Chicago. 

Yes, there is a problem.  And it is neither black or white.  It is a human problem.

Out of all those people…who ran to help Derrion?

Out of all of those people standing around.  Who tried to help him?

No one.

In fact, it is said that Derrion…himself became an innocent victim…because he went to help someone else.

Let’s look at this….

Who did they kill?

Someone who they realized had a future. 

Someone whom they recognized was going someplace. 

Somebody who’s ambitions were greater than hanging out on the streets. 

Somebody who wanted to learn something… achieve something… do something with his life… more than what they were doing.

While they had made bad choices…lots of them concerning their own lives…and the direction that they were headed in.   Now with some on them on their way to prison behind their very senseless murder Derrion…a very innocent person. 

But was it necessary for them to steal somebody else’s dreams…or to want to?

To take away Derrion’s life…and try to defeat him by killing him…because he refused to submit to them…and the streets?

Because Derrion wanted more out of life?

 Becuse he saw where he did have a future…and could make something out his life?  

Because he chose to learn something…and then to do something with what he was learning?

It is kind of like those massacres which took place in Tulsa and Rosewood…and other placess…when you really look back on it.  They were about people who hated others because they became successfull…were progressing.  And that is why Darrion got attack too…and was eventually murdered.

He was progressing.  

Progressive…not stuck in a box.

Aspiring to be something.

He knew that there was more to life… lots more that it had to offer him… than gang life…and gang activities.

Derrion was a 16 year old honor student on his way to college.  He had visions of  making something out of his life.  He was on the path to going to college.  And gang life…and hanging out in the streets of Chicago just did not fit into his plans.

So, therefore, Derrion was a danger to them.  Because Derrion’s mind wasn’t warped by the reality of what was around him…into believing that there was nothing else…or something better.  That living as many lived around him…was all that there was.

And…so, they saw that Derrion was different and they killed him for it.  Like those progressive black communities of Tulsa and Rosewood…were burnt down and destroyed until there was no hope of them ever coming back.

The problem with Chicago…is that their gang problem should have been dealt with long ago.  In 1981 when Mayor Jane Byrne moved into Cabrini Green, a housing project on Chicago’s West Side…it was because people couldn’t even step outside of their apartments without becoming moving targets for target practice by the gangs which controlled their project.

When gangs take over projects…hotels and are allowed to run wild and rule as they have in Chicago things can only get worst…and worst.  And they have…the levels of criminal activity in Chicago escalates from year to year. 

There is little wonder why it was not chosen for the site of the 2016 Olympic Games.

I was living in Chicago when the World Soccer Games was held there.  It was beautiful and festive.  Though Chicago is always beautiful.  But until the issue of gangs and crime is seriously addressed in Chicago…the lives of those living there will continued to be threaten by senseless acts of criminal activity.

And as long as the gang issue is considered a ‘black issue’  or a ‘minority thing’ nothing will ever be seriously done about it.  

And that goes for gang criminal acts everywhere.

Today started off  dark and rainy.  Thought that it was going to rain all day…but the sun is out now.  But there are still a few dark clouds in the sky.  So, I guess it might start raining again later.  But I hope that you are enjoying your day no matter what the weather is.  And always keep in mind sunny or dark…that God loves you. 

I am not going to get rid of this picture.   And no, I will not get tired of looking at it.  

It really does make me think of the weather that will soon be on its way.

What exactly IS an epidemic?  We constantly hear this term when anything negative happens in the black community.  Well according to dictionary dot com (not disease) it means extremely prevalent; widespread.  The next definition is a rapid spread or increase in the occurrence of something.

Now I feel that the Derrion Albert death was totally ridiculous and callous occurrence.  My problem is that these deaths which total 40, is far from an epidemic.  Is it too many?  Hell yes!  But where were these CNN and other reporters or principals such as Steve Perry, who think they know all the answers or the rest who have so much to say all with little answers, back when there were 1 death, 2 deaths or 39 deaths?

We like to pick and choose what we label as out of control or epidemic.  CNN has a story running right now on workplace violence which is overly represented by white society and they haven’t once called it an epidemic.  They say that homicide is 42% of all workplace deaths and that isn’t an epidemic?  Yet, somehow we are now having an epidemic after 40 deaths.

According to Harvard 45,000 people a year die because of lack of health care resulting in lack of medical attention.  Isn’t that an epidemic that we should be focusing on and crying about?  And we ALL want to sit and focus on 40 teens.  This is why this country is going to hell in a hand basket, and not a very nice looking one either.  We are way too focused on keeping inequality with phony outrage.

It goes all the way back to the per capita versus full numbers game.  We like to focus ALL of our attention on things with small numbers that don’t affect us directly even though what DOES affect us with large numbers flies under the radar.  Or we tend to look at the symptoms and never the root cause.  Could we possibly be looking at the backlash from all the overwhelming poverty that black and other minority inner city children, adults and families have to deal with day in and day out?

We cry like the world is ending when the unemployment rate for the generic yet overwhelmingly white majority reaches 9%; yet could have cared less that the unemployment rate for blacks has been up over 10% for a very long time now.  Maybe we should be concerned with ALL of our people. . . Oh! My bad! That would be socialism and thus bad.  We all need to continue focusing on ourselves, even though it gets us nowhere.

OPEC is talking about dropping the dollar as the currency of their trade.  And it makes me wonder if this whole concern with Chicago is just another distraction from the real issues.  When the dollar is no longer the trade status of oil we are going to see a collapse of the dollar and then what?  We know what happens when a country’s currency collapses. Just look at Zimbabwe and that out of control inflation.  Thousands of dollars for a loaf of bread.

And according to The Independent, “Iran announced late last month that its foreign currency reserves would henceforth be held in Euros rather than dollars. Bankers remember, of course, what happened to the last Middle East oil producer to sell its oil in Euros rather than dollars. A few months after Saddam Hussein trumpeted his decision, the Americans and British invaded Iraq.”  Are we going to end up in yet another war?  And all we can focus on is this phony so called epidemic of black gang violence which has resulted in a whopping 40 dead.

On Thursday, September 24th, after an apparently productive day at Fengler High School in Chicago, Derrion Albert, a black 16 year old honor student was knocked to the ground by a blow to the head with a railroad tie. He was then punched, kicked and stomped. Those who responded to rescue him were too late. 

Derrion had walked into the middle of a fight between two rival black gangs. He attempted to help one of the victims in the melee and was killed for his trouble. This took place in Barack Obama’s Chicago. All his work for “social justice” did a great deal for Obama, but it did nothing for Derrion Albert. Of course the President is not responsible for this tragedy, but it does expose the fatuous claim that such occurrences are the result of social injustice rather than the personal choice to engage in lawless behavior. The ghettos, drugs, gangs and violence are on display for all to see in spite of Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Acorn and all the community organizing.

CHICAGO – The melee that ensnared Chicago junior Derrion Albert last week wasn’t an unusual occurrence in a neighborhood where tensions and gang violence often erupt, say residents.

But the fight left Derrion dead – apparently caught in the brawl between two rival student groups as he walked home from Fenger High School. This has brought renewed focus on a neighborhood and a city where youth violence is a longstanding problem.

“It gets attention when someone dies, but this is every day with us,” says Kase Miles, who graduated from Fenger a year ago, pointing to a scar on his cheek that he says he received at school when someone attacked him from behind with brass knuckles. “It’s getting worse…. But if he wouldn’t have died, [the media] wouldn’t be here.”

Keeping students safe – especially as they walk to and from school – has become a challenge for Chicago schools and police. Since the academic year began three weeks ago, five Chicago children have been killed, says Phillip Jackson, founder of the Black Star Project, which is working to strengthen violence-stricken communities in Chicago. In 2008, more than 30 students were killed, according to the Associated Press, citing district figures.

“Schools by themselves can’t fix the problem,” Mr. Jackson says. “We have to get the community involved. Right now, the problem seems to be here at Fenger. Tomorrow, it will be another school.”Instead of the money that has come from Washington to bolster police presence, Jackson would like to see funds for more counselors, after-school programs, and job creation.

Derrion Albert was laid to rest Saturday after a three-hour funeral attended by the well-known, those who knew him well and others who just wanted to pay their respects.

In death, the 16-year-old became the latest high-profile name on the long list of young Chicagoans who have died violently. The teen’s brutal beating with two-by-fours was recorded Sept. 24. The attack captured the nation’s attention and elicited a response from the White House.

President Barack Obama is sending Attorney General Eric Holder and Education Secretary Arne Duncan to Chicago this week in the wake of the fatal beating. Obama’s spokesman has indicated the administration is preparing an initiative to address the national issues of youth crime and violence.

Derrion was violently stomped, punched and smacked with large planks of wood in a South Side brawl shortly after classes ended for the afternoon at Fenger High School. The melee was between two long-warring factions of Fenger students, kids bused in from the Altgeld Gardens housing project and those who live in the portion of the Roseland neighborhood around Fenger known as the “Ville.”

Why hasn’t Pres Obama made a statement on the death of Derrion Albert? Derrion Albert was an example of a kid that did things the right way. He was an honors student and refused to join a gang. Obama’s silence on Chicago crime

SAN DIEGO, California (CNN) — When his stint in the White House is over, President Obama might just learn that Thomas Wolfe was right. You can’t go home again.
Back in Obama’s adopted hometown of Chicago, Illinois, some members of the black community are incensed at the president for not personally speaking out about the murder of Derrion Albert, a 16-year-old boy who was beaten to death last week in a predominantly African-American neighborhood.

What really set them off was that Obama, in an awkward case of bad timing, instead flew to Copenhagen to pitch Chicago to the International Olympics Committee as the ideal city to host the games in 2016.

I think the critics are being too hard on Obama. Given how ambivalent he seems about Iran and how disinterested he appears in the rest of American foreign policy, it’s nice to see him get passionate about something.

The best Obama could do on Albert were weak comments from White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, and only then in response to a question from a reporter, not as part of a formal statement. The president found the video of the beating “chilling,” Gibbs assured us.

Too many young people have become desensitized to violence. This scourge doesn’t discriminate. Today, it’s a videotaped beating of an African-American kid in the inner city by other African-Americans. Yesterday, it was a videotaped beating of a white teenage girl in the suburbs by other white teenage girls.
The beating in Chicago was fatal — and particularly grotesque. An outraged African-American man standing at the site of the beating told CBS News that what had happened there days earlier was an act of “savagery.”

Watching the video, it’s hard to find a better word. We see a melee involving about 50 teenagers that took place near Fenger High School, where Albert was an honors student. We see Albert being hit on the head by another boy from behind with a long wooden board later identified by authorities as a splintered railroad tie.
We see Albert falling to the ground, and when he stands up, we see him punched in the face by a second boy. We see Albert fall again, get up, and return to the floor after getting hit again by a third boy with another board. Then we see a fourth boy stomping on top of Albert’s head. He doesn’t get up.

Prosecutors have charged four teenagers age 16 to 19 with first-degree murder and police say they are looking for three more who were involved in the melee.
This crime is outrageous and heartbreaking. Obviously, if convicted, the four teenagers deserve to spend the rest of their lives behind bars. But what is broken here can’t be fixed by harsh punishment alone.

We’ve raised a generation of predators, one that is willing to kill for a good time. Too many parents have dropped the ball, too many communities are overly permissive, and too many young people think about how random acts of brutality can destroy people’s lives.

There is plenty for Obama to say about this tragedy in the Windy City. And the longer the president waits before he starts talking, the more damage he does to his reputation, even among some of his most ardent supporters.

Judging from what’s being said on talk radio, Web sites and blogs frequented by residents of Chicago, the fact that Obama put the Olympics ahead of responding to the breakdown of the social order in Chi-Town is a slap in the face.

Just yesterday, a self-identified African-American called into “The Rush Limbaugh Show” and complained about how Obama flew off to “a foreign country” while black kids in Chicago are being consumed by violence. The caller wondered when other African-Americans were going to realize that Obama wasn’t like them, because he’s an elitist living an extraordinary life and breathing rarified air.

That sentiment was all over black-oriented blogs. One blogger wrote: “More children died violent deaths in Chicago this year than in any other city in America. But all Obama cares about is bringing the Olympics to a city where basic services like water, sanitation and power often don’t work. … If Chicago does win the bid there will be plenty of police and National Guard on hand to protect the international visitors. That’s more than they are willing to do for their own residents.“

I scrolled through a few dozen posts from readers, some contemptuous of how Obama has been silent about Albert’s murder. Clearly, secondhand comments from the White House press secretary aren’t going to cut it.

In fact, someone compared Obama’s reaction to this societal problem to how he reacted to another one a while back, racial profiling. The person wrote: “u all think that Derrion Albert’s mother will be invited to the White House for beer?”

That stings. The Olympics might be headed to Chicago in 2016, but will the Obamas be there to greet them? When they leave the White House, they might decide to steer clear of Chi-Town and take up residence somewhere else. I hear Hawaii is nice.
