“My agent had to make me go because it was such a big movie, so I thought there was no way I was going to get it. Oddly, whenever I just go for shits and giggles, I end up booking the part. It’s exactly how I got Mad Max: Fury Road.”

On her new film Yelling To The Sky with Gabourey Sidibe:
“A lot of people started comparing it to Precious. It really freaked me out and made me kind of sad. It made me feel like people weren’t watching the film. They see Gabby, artistic shots, and brown people, and suddenly it’s Precious. I don’t care how much I’m in the movie, as long as I care about the character.”

Nicki Minaj is Hop Hop’s new Barbie. She came out of nowhere like a ninja and now everywhere you turn you are either hearing or seeing Ms. Minaj. Currently she’s gracing the cover of BlackBook magazine. Typically loud and colorful, she ironically participates in a partially black and white spread.

Love her or hate her… Nicki may not be Hip Hops new “Queen Bee”, but she sure is stingin’ ‘em with her music!

Nicki Minaj is still goin’ at it.  Ever since she came out, she’s been all over the place promoting herself and her music.  I ain’t mad at her at all.  She’s just done a very interesting spread for Blackbook Magazine.  Inside she talks about what her and Lady Gaga have in common:

“We both do the awkward, non-pretty thing,” she says. “What we’re saying—what I’m saying, anyway—is that it’s okay to be weird. And maybe your weird is my normal. Who’s to say? I think it’s an attitude we both share.”

When asked if she’s dating her manager Diddy, she says:

“God, no. It was so disgusting to me that people would even link me and him. I grew up watching him. I look at him like a Russell Simmons figure, definitely not as someone I’d be getting it poppin’ with.”
