with a firing capacity of 1 bullet every 3 seconds this gun is the Nerf war essential. the only problem with it is if you don’t put the ammo belt into the gun perfectly straight, you’re in trouble. I wouldn’t use this gun for all-the-time-fighting. what i use it for is when the enemy is out of bullets and/or jammed, i snatch up the vulcan ebf-25 and bathe them in a shower of preferably sonic bullets. I give this gun a 5 star rating, and highly recommend it.

At first I was really exited to get the Vulcan. Then the tripod wasn’t working and the gun kept jamming. I recently was trying to fix the tripod when it just unlocked (turns out you must put weight on it), and a similar revelation soon followed with the jamming.

Don’t waste your money – Mama Kim –
Parents, go with your gut on this one: My son saved his allowance for weeks & weeks to buy this toy, despite our warnings that it didn’t really look like it would work well.

First, the battery compartment was nearly impossible to open – we finally got it open after prying it up (and dinging the plastic) with a very small screwdriver.

Second, the web fluid instructions say, upon careful reading, to shake the can *after each use* – that’s really hard to do with the thing strapped on your arm.

Finally, no matter how often we cleaned it out, including after each time he squirted it, it only actually shot more than a few inches about 3 times. Shaking the can, pointing it up as per the instructions, cleaning the nozzle – nothing really made any difference. After less than 15 minutes, the can was empty and there were little piles of grey goo in the yard.

The water gun was marginally better, but you don’t get a very long period of water spray till yo uhave to pump it again.

My son was very, very disappointed and asked “Why do the toy people let kids buy their toys that don’t work?”

My 6 year old son had to have this toy because of the tv commercials and he’s spiderman’s number one fan.

Opening the battery compartment was difficult. I had to try 4 different phillips head screwdrivers and then resorted to prying the compartment open.

When I put the fluid cannister in, at first it would not discharge. When I moved it around some, I got it to discharge but rather than spray a “spinning web” it released a growing blob of sticky, toxic smelling goo which stuck to the front of the “blaster”. I had to tell my son that one of his key christmas gifts did not work. I felt really bad for a family that could only afford one gift for their child and this was it.

Because the goo smelled toxic and because it came from China, I took some outside and tried to light it with a match (the box says it is not flammable and not toxic). The goo immediately went up in flames. I suggest that Habro recall this sorry P.O.S. before someone burns their house down with it.

“BLOODSHED” Pen & pencil on lined paper – Ali and Stephan Gill 2009

TRISTAR sent over an early Thanksgiving present yesterday and supplied me with a blaster of their new 2009 Prospects + product.  You can find these at many retail outlets such as Wal-Mart and Target.  For full hobby boxes be sure to check your local card shop or favorite online dealer.

Design:

TRISTAR has really improved the design of this year’s Prospects +.  Last year’s base cards seemed a little over done with the chrome like finish and what looked from a distance like a die cut design.  ’09 Prospects + returns to a simpler design that contains color in the background versus just plain white which has been done before.

Price:

You should be able to find these blasters for between $10.00 and $20.00 at places like Wal-Mart and Target.  That seems about right for the average blaster box.

Hit Quality:

You can’t expect to get a ton of hits, if any, from a blaster box.  Have blasters been known to yield big hits in the past?  Sure.  Is it possible to pull autographs and relics from blasters?  Absolutely.  But it is much harder than your standard hobby box, especially a decent hit.  Hobby boxes of ‘09 Prospects + yield 9 hits on average.  Blasters on the other hand don’t guarantee anything.  You get one pack with 20 cards.  I didn’t pull any autographs or relics but thats what you expect from a blaster.  I like the Stephen Strasburg Crystal Ballers which are retail exclusive and can be found in 5 different color variations.  I pulled the green version from my blaster.  For some reason they remind me of an insert that could have been pulled from the 90’s.  They also have that sketch card look to them.  Be sure to look for Obak update cards within this product too.  Obak was probably my favorite retro product this year.

Overall:

Overall, I give this product 3 baseballs out of 5 (1=poor & 5=perfect).  Prospects + will always be a great contender against other prospect based products like Bowman.  If your looking for guaranteed hits, I would suggest spending the extra money for a hobby box.  These blasters are great for that prospect collector who is looking for that quick fix.

A muchos no os sonará, a otros les sonará de haber colaborado con grupos locales (por ejemplo Contacto Táctico en Nada que hacer) pero Sistah-S fué integrante del grupo Funkopolitan, el cual sacaron disco en el año 2004 (Escucha y Siente). El grupo lo formaban Sistah-S y Soulfenix pero el grupo se disolvió y cada uno siguió su trayectoria por caminos distintos.

Ahora, en el 2009 volvemos a saber de Sistah-S, con su estilo Soul y R&B parece ser que nos traerá un disco exquisito y que nos dejará bien satisfechos, un disco bajo el nombre de Susúrrame.

En su MySpace nos deja oir 4 temas de su esperado lp. Nos encontramos una colaboración de Blaster en el track que da nombre al disco.

The best of the bunch is easily Anderson Silva who is the best pound for pound fighter in the world. He is so dominant that the UFC has problems finding good challengers for the title and those who do face him end up running away from the octagon. Run, Forrest run! I got a bunch of Mets, a bunch of doubles and I suspect a bunch of trade bait. Of the doubles, I’m glad I got a pair of Anderson Silvas so I can send one for an autograph TTM. My Goodwin cards are scattered everywhere so I have look for them and organize them to see if I’m close to completing the set or if it is even worth completing. It is likely though that I’ll keep the Mets, the MMA fighters and the players I like and offer the others for trade.

All in all, I like the look/ feel of the product and the choice the non- baseball cards in the base set. To me the non- baseball checklist is actually stronger than Allen and Ginter’s. I like Goodwin Champions a lot better than similar retro/ arts sets like Turkey Red or Goudey but I’m not quite sure if it is better overall than Allen and Ginter just yet. I admit Allen and Ginter is getting a bit old and boring for me and unless Allen and Ginter changes significantly next year, for me it would lose most of its appeal. Maybe I guess opened too much Allen and Ginter the last few years.
