Nos recherches d’appartement l’ont malheureusement confirmé : canapé à pois, rideaux à fleurs et lits à simili-baldaquin (le vrai modèle est trop cher) foisonnent dans les foyers britanniques. Nous avons d’ailleurs jeté notre dévolu sur un appartement qui se distinguait par son caractère relativement épuré (et surtout ni sinistre, ni en ruines, ni insalubre, pour ceux qui auraient raté un épisode crucial).
Il y subsiste malgré tout quelques subtiles traces du bon goût anglais :

Avec tout ça, j’aurais dû être mentalement préparée à cet article découvert dans un magazine féminin anglais hier après-midi : 

« 10 pièces qu’on adore – idées d’intérieur à piquer chez les autres »

Je vous passe « la salle de bains style boudoir » (?)  et « le salon monochrome » (pour qui souhaiterait échapper à  la dictature des motifs à fleurs et autres chatons ?) afin de me concentrer sur cette perle du bon goût, « le salon glamour » :

Si le seul fait d’oser placer une telle photo dans un magazine à fort tirage suffit à vous faire rire (c’est mon cas), vous vous réjouirez d’apprendre qu’il y a encore plus fort : le texte qui l’accompagne. Petit extrait : «  Cette pièce est adulte, cosy et sophistiquée (sic) ». Je m’étrangle.

Cosy, je vois encore : ils doivent faire allusion aux trois énormes coussins roses sur le canapé en léopard. Mais sophistiquée ?! On parle du truc qui ressemble à une poubelle (au premier plan), ou de la table dorée (mais si, dans le coin en haut à gauche ) ?
Et puis, quitte à lui assigner une personnalité, à cette pièce, je pencherais plutôt pour un adolescent qui aurait un peu forcé sur le cannabis, rapport aux motifs psychédéliques.

Le magazine garde le meilleur pour la fin avec « l’astuce à piquer : surtout, ne vous prenez pas trop au sérieux – jusque là, pas de problème. La table dorée apportera une délicieuse touche bling bling  (sic toujours) ». 

Vous qui comptiez donner un coup de frais à la déco de votre salon ce WE, vous savez maintenant ce qui vous reste à faire pour être à la pointe de la mode… britannique.

I’m sorry I have let you down a bit with my blogging but I am just way too busy to do anything at the moment. Anything except going to work and uni and sometimes I even sleep  In fact, the entire last week I kept myself alive with energy drinks which kinda worked but made me look and sometimes even feel like a ghost.

As I did not have to work today, I took the chance and went Xmas shopping with Jenni which actually ended up in buying more stuff for ourselves than presents for anybody else but to be honest that is nothing new.

Anyways, as we were strolling through the streets I was suddenly blinded by something shiny…

Me like!

Of course I had to go into the store but I was too tired to try them on(scandalous!).But there’s gonna be a next time, trust me! I can’t wait for the next X-mas-shopping-trip cuz I have the feeling that there’s a 90% chance of me ending up with a christmas present…for MYSELF! *bling bling*

While the lines are always long, the store is always in disarray, and the music sucks, Forever21 usually has some cute accessories that makes venturing into the store less painful. The baubles and bling are always very reasonably-priced and definitely on-trend. It’s not going to be an heirloom to pass down to the next generation but you don’t need to worry about that, grandma has that covered.

So when you need to dress up an outfit right quick…don’t forget to check Forever21. You may have to wade through a bunch of nonsense but you’ll surely come up on a winner. In India, anything marriage related is marigold in color. Its the most commonly associated color and flower with Indian weddings. And it sure does have a charm of its own. I remember how I wanted my home to be decorated with marigolds and even my mehendi mandap (tent) was done with that. I have such sweet and vivid memories of that day. Did you see Kurbaan? I did yesterday night at Inox. I loved it. A beautiful film. But even more beautiful Ms. Kareena Kapoor (Khan to be?) Loved the Kitsch look of her clothes. Those tops teamed with zari duppattas and churidars and long flaired skirts ofcourse it all gets transformed in U.S.A when she slides effortlessly into a city chic with chequered skirts, boots and stoles. I must say she looked phenomenal and its not just the beauty its all the grace and i guess she is in love (that does give you the pink glow right!:)

Yes Iam. I have an important interview to conduct with an extremely celebrity like person and am kinda jittery. Although its a good to be a little jittery well that’s what they all say. So here Iam frantically looking up details about the man, his past, present and see the best q’s I can get! Phew! This better go well. Wish me luck. I need loads of it. What else am thinking of? Going shopping ofcourse! Here’s a new store I have found out about in Pondicherry. Its called Cre’art and it looks quite a dish. It’s got clothes, accessories, bags and a whole lot of other goodies. What I like about this (Although I haven’t been here as yet but I have a shopping sense. I can sense things about stores. Sniff Sniff) are the brightly colored walls and the fresh vibe that everything here emanates. A neat, uncluttered space that is inviting and interesting to look at and shop at! What say? So Cre’art is on my list and so are a few others. Wish me Happy Shopping!

Cette fois-ci mesdemoiselles, c’est dans l’univers des nuits parisiennes que nous allons nous diriger !

 Et oui celles qui ne sont pas trop « m’as tu vu » à la base vont se sentir  mal à l’aise cette saison! 

Le doré, les paillettes, les brillants, l’argenté, les sequins bref  toute une farandole de matières et de couleurs qui ne passent vraiment pas inaperçues et on adore ça pour être tout de suite vues !!!!

Pour commencer assez léger, je propose à celles qui n’ont pas encore adopté le doré pétant de tester le mordoré .

Cette couleur est très tendance, on l’aime en légère touche dans une tenue, on l’associe avec du noir pour la sublimer !!!

Grâce au mordoré vous resterez élégante tout en étant tendance. C’est un bon compromis pour les affranchis du bling bling.

Pour les autres, et bien il y a du choix ! Vraiment beaucoup de choix !

Commençons par ce qui marche déjà depuis plus d’un an : je parle du sequin évidemment !!

Ha !!! le sequin ce petit disque brillant qui une fois porté donne du cachet à votre tenue ! je pense vraiment que je ne vais jamais m’en lasser…

On l’aime porté en gilet, veste ou cardigan, dans les tons noir, argenté, mordoré ou même pourpre.

Il donne tout de suite  un effet rock aux tenues les plus sobres, il se porte facilement et gros avantage: AVEC TOUT !!

Je vous assure du jean (troué ou non) à la petite robe en dentelle, le sequin est notre allié autant l’utiliser !!

Passons aux choses sérieuses à présent, les perles se retrouvent partout sur nos vêtements…Est-ce bon pour nous ou non ?

Les filles, c’est plus que bon, c’est génial ! Enfin on va pouvoir s’habiller sans se soucier du bijou qu’il faudrait associer !! 

Et oui l’avantage des perles c’est qu’elles donnent un effet collier garantie !

Pour une soirée en grande pompe, on optera pour une robe noire « style Charleston » ornée de perles alignées, plutôt dans les tons argentés !

Pour un rencard ce sera la veste avec des perles cousues sur les épaulettes ! Ainsi vous serez élégante, stylée, pas trop chargée car pas de bijoux et votre silhouette sera bien dessinée (les vestes à épaulettes donne un effet de corps plus mince)

Et enfin, pour une soirée  détente avec à la clef juste l’envie de se sentir jolie pour soi-même, vous choisirez le pull-over noir de préférence, tout simple avec des perles cousues sur les épaules.

On optera pour un modèle avec des perles de couleurs différentes comme le noir  et le doré par exemple.

Ceci donnera du style à votre pull sans vous prendre la tête au préalable !

Je parlais de bling bling tout à l’heure et vous devez vous dire que pour l’instant ce n’est pas si bling bling que ça ce que je propose !

Je gardais tout simplement le meilleur pour la fin !

Cette année c’est le doré qui  est acclamé ! mais surtout l’accessoire ultime c’est la chaîne en or assez épaisse !!

Je sais ça peut paraître étrange, dit comme ça,  mais je vous assure pour l’avoir testé ce week-end, ces chaînes font l’effet de bombe dans les soirées !!

Ya  juste un seul bemol, c’est qu’il faut vraiment bien savoir l’associer si on ne veut pas basculer dans le vulgaire !

C’est donc dans un esprit purement rock qu’on va la porter ! 

Le best :c’est avec un jean de couleur noir, une veste en cuir vintage pour casser l’effet trop clinquant, un t-shirt blanc simplissime qui divulgue juste une épaule à la limite, et des talons noirs mate style croco .

Avec tout ça vous enroulez votre chaîne en or épaisse autour du coup et vous être prête pour aller danser jusqu’au bout de la nuit !

No No am not saying this! It’s the quirky bag from Ayesha Kapur’s accessory collection that has this line screaming it. Remember the beautiful Ayesha from the movie Black. Yes that little bundle of talent seems to be expressing her ideas through her latest line of accessories. Expect boho bags, beautiful bangles, sun glasses et al. And guess what? Am heading to Pondicherry, perhaps I’ll get some goodies, maybe I will run into her and give her a big hug, the cutie that she is. Have not blogged for SOOOOOOOOOOO long!!!
Darling’s in Singapore for a week and he’s flying to Armenia tomorrow after 12MN which is actually Tuesday already.

He came back on Friday with some stuffs for me.

Magic Lip Gloss.
Looks like nothing when you apply but becomes pink in awhile.

USB cable for my HTC Magic. Cuz I told Darling my cable is spoilt. Hehe.

Epoxy Glue for my new hobby. BUT I still prefer the old one that I’m using though.

Saturday night we went KTV @ Liang Court PartyWorld with ‘Daddy’and QY. Went J8 to do my phone first before leaving for Liang Court. We grabbed a quite bite there but I didn’t like the LJS there, very salty. Picked QY up from Central, her new office and we head for Liang Court. Sang till 11pm than went Geylang for supper. Our car stalled on our way there and frankly after that car accident I developed a small phobia for cars related issues. I think our battery died for awhile or whatever issue it was, it was okay after awhile. I know QY would have thought I lie to her. Whahahaha. She must be thinking I’m up to no good. BUT we went in the end.

By the time we got home it’s close to 1am and we dilly dally as usual and when everything’s done it’s like 2 plus? I started watching my 巾帼枭雄 and blinged at the same time. When I decided to stop and sleep, I realized there’s some light shining on the TV. It’s 7am! My god. Darling’s already snoring like nobody’s business and I’m still wide awake and I wasn’t sleepy at all. I really don’t know which one kept me awake, the bling or the show, but I guess both.

This one photo was when it’s 3/4 done. I wasn’t sure if I should glue crystals on the silver surface too but in the end I did.

I really like the end result but I think I could have done better. Perhaps if I start from one end all the way to another I will be able to reduce the little spaces. But I filled them with the small crystals.

Hands itching to try blinging other stuffs. Halfway done with Mum’s camera but I’m  using plastic beads instead of crystals and that makes quite abit of difference.

We went to see Ting and their baby girl too. She’s such a doll! She slept soundly while we were there. Babies are usually wrapped up so tightly and they say it’s to stimulate the mother’s womb.

It’s really not easy going through labour. Although there’s epidural now but it still hurts and when natural child birth is not an option, the mother will have to go through caesarean. During tlhe process the mother might not feel the pain but after the process it’s the most painful part.
A surgery is dangerous, regardless of any reasons. So fathers should love mothers more!

But seeing that your child is delivered healthy is perhaps the best gift in the world.
We are so happy for them.

After dinner we went to Katong to have steamboat. It’s been raining the whole day and a good time to have hot steamy steamboat.

Bought donuts from my favorite – Donut Empire.

I really love the donuts from Donut Empire. One of the best I’ve tried. They are all soft and fresh. Especially those with fillings, when you bite them the fillings ooze out.
Yummy!

Sis came back from her company retreat to Bangkok and she bought lots of things for us.
Especially Cookie. Clothes and her favorites – treats.

But the 2 tops were alittle too small, or rather super small for her leh. Haha.

We put on both tops for her, one as a top and the other as bottom. Haha. But she can probably fit them after her haircut.

One of the nights after work we went for crab bee hoon at AMK.

Had a belated birthday celebration for Em at Sakura (Tampines Safra).
