Como os he dicho antes, Blink 182 se plantean volver, pero desde su desintegración en el año 2005, tanto Tom como Mark y Travis, siguieron con sus carreras en solitario. Así, como antes os he enunciado, de esta separación nació una banda de rock americana bajo el nombre de Angels and Airwaves. Es muy buena, por eso me he parado en contar un poco cómo surgió su nacimiento y en su discografía que merece la pena escuchar. Si sois verdaderos fans de Blink 182, y no conocíais esta banda, os la recomiendo enormemente. Es muy similar al estilo de Blink.
La banda está liderada por Tom DeLonge como vocalista y guitarrista. Su primer lanzamiento discográfico fue en el año 2006: We Don’t Need to Whisper. En apenas dos años, han logrado alcanzar un reconocimiento internacional y hacerse un hueco entre los mejores grupos del punk del momento. Fue un disco debut gracias en parte al gran guitarrista David Kennedy, con el que se unió para realizar este trabajo.
Pero este no es su primer único trabajo. El año pasado, para el mes de septiembre, presentaron su disco bajo el título L-Empire. No hace falta decir la acogida y la aclamación que tuvo este.
Aquí os dejó un videoclip donde hace un breve repaso de todas las canciones del primer disco, para que os hagáis una idea de cómo suena. Son los primeros minutos de cada una de los temas que completan We don’t need to Whisper. personalmente os recomiendo It hurts y Do it for me.

De acordo com um tweet do baixista/vocalista do Blink 182, Mark Hoppus, a banda entra em estúdio pra começar a gravar músicas novas em Janeiro. Hoppus deverá encerrar esse 2009 fazendo seus trabalhos como produtor, e como já noticiamos aqui antes, Travis Barker está atualmente gravando disco solo, o qual será lançado em fevereiro, mesmo mês que sai o disco “Love” do AVA, de Tom DeLonge.

Mathcore pioneers Dilinger Escape Plan have announced the release of their latest album Option Paralysis. The album is set to be released on March 23, 2010. They are releasing through their own label Party Smasher Inc./Season Of Mist. DEP have been a little quiet since 2007 when they released the highly praised Ire Works.

The alternative music scene is binding together in support of Deftones’ bassist Chi Cheng, who remains in a semi-conscious state after a traffic accident in November 2008. Many items are being auctioned to try to cover the medical expenses outside of his insurance. Acts including Metallica, System of a Down, Blink 182, HIM and Slayer have generously donated their time and equipment in aid of Cheng.

In similar news a crew member of Fear Before (previously known as Fear Before the March of Flames) has suffered some very serious injuries on tour in Australia. After falling through a weak point of a roof, Trent Jacobi toppled around eight metres, his fall broken by a bicycle. He suffered several fractures in his pelvis, a broken left arm, punctured lung, and three broken ribs. Unfortunately he didn’t have medical insurance, so Fear Before have launched a site on which fans can donate to Trent’s cause.

Black metallers Mayhem have taken a distinctly rock ‘n’ roll approach to their current tour after trashing their hotel room in Tilburg in The Netherlands. The band and crew were arrested on Monday morning after an employee of the hotel found the mess. Plants were thrown in the street, mirrors, a sink, television and beds were destroyed in the rampage. The damage bill is estimated to reach 5000 Euros.

Rammstein’s latest album Liebe ist Fur Alle Da has been banned from public display in Germany due to its depiction of sadism and masochism on the controversial cover. Petra Meier, the deputy president of the Federal Office for the Examination of Media Harmful to Young People, also cited some of the lyrics as objectionable, including: “Bites, kicks, heavy blows, nails, pincers, blunt saws – Tell me what you want.” Consequently the album can no longer be advertised or displayed in open exhibition where it may be accessed by people under 18.

Rare are moments when my mind is quiet and when I’m not busy analyzing every last detail of every last conversation or action. From the way I ate my lettuce at the staff holiday party to the way in which a coworker was collaborating with me to ways I can be a better friend, my brain is in constant cartwheel motion about not just myself, but everyone else. If only I could at least read the thoughts of people I am interacting with on any level, perhaps this thinking process could be less time-consuming!

Over-thinking rarely is detrimental to my work performance or in my personal life (I wonder what the boyfriend would say about that statement…). However, I’m the first to admit that this tendency to analyze my motion and be critical in the moment has a way with severely interfering with my sports performance. On the soccer field, I am a whirlwind of self-critquing, wondering if I should be in that open space versus this open space, if I should run to the ball or cover another player on defense, if I ran down the open lane fast enough, why I biffed that kick, where is the ball supposed to go during a stopped play, how can I avoid the really big guy scoring, who is open, why can’t I look up more when dribbling, where should I dribble….

Oh right. I’m writing here. So my brain gets just the tiniest bit cluttered.

Well, all that clutter got cleaned up last night, and my entire playing style changed changed. Apparently, I fell into The Zone. And I cannot figure out how or why.

The Zone is this beautiful, wonderful, pinnacle of sports playing that I had never once been privy to. The Zone is a mental state in which everything is working for you both on the playing field and in your head. You are focused on the game, moving with purpose and muscle memory, and not thinking so much as doing. Top athletes often speak of The Zone as being in a place of clarity, of seeing the whole field, of being able to feel what they are supposed to do. And the best athletes in the world tend to be able to be in The Zone most of the time they are competing.

In more scientific terms, The Zone is a phenomenon in which an athlete is working and succeeding in the moment of the game.

Must be nice.

Apparently, if you’re like me and you think too much, you’re more likely to struggle with performance. According to an article on WebMD, “Athletes with neurotic tendencies — who dramatize events as catastrophic — have more negative thoughts and a harder time hitting the zone. This intrusive chatter is distracting and results in the athlete’s ‘thinking, instead of doing,’ says researcher Roland A. Carlstedt, PhD, a clinical sports psychologist with Capella University in New York City.” Over-thinking is distracting — yikes!

No wonder my soccer performance has been suffering. Every time I get too critical and question too much, I’m being detrimental to myself and to my team because I can’t, as the coaches say, keep my head in the game.

Somehow, though, last night I suddenly felt great. I literally dribbled around people — it sort of seemed like maybe the team we were playing was a little slower than other teams, but who knows. It was as though I had ball-handling skill. I also managed to take the ball away from the other team while they were dribbling, instead of just hindering them as I am wont to do. I  managed to often be in a really good open space on the field, and hit a nice assist to another player. I even scored my first goal with this team. WIth my left foot. And I did it all while being only in the moment, and not getting down on myself when I wasn’t playing well.

Seriously, where did this come from? I’ve reviewed my pre-game activities to see if there was anything that could have helped me get to this state–I came home from work, folded an endless amount of laundry, laid down for ten minutes, ate a spoonful of peanut butter, and drove to the game. And I did sing my power song, “All the Small Things” by Blink 182, which used to my favorite get-pumped song in marching band.

Hmmm. All I can say is I hope to have many more games like that in the future. Minus the killer headache I got during the game, that followed me around for the next three hours. Still getting those darn exercise headaches. Yuck.

I have decided to make a list of my favorite albums from the decade, since the decade is drawing to a close. These are in no particular order:

• Green Day, American Idiot - A more mature side of Green Day and one of the only punk rock operas ever.
• Jack’s Mannequin, Everything In Transit – An album from Andrew McMahon that showcases perfect pop.
• Switchfoot, Nothing Is Sound - Talented alt rockers show their darker side.
• Kings Of Leon, Because Of The Times - Alt rock with a small twist of southern rock. Somehow it makes a great album.
• Audioslave, Audioslave - Former members of Rage plus Chris Cornell of Soundgarden make the perfect supergroup record.
• Angels & Airwaves, I-Empire – Tom Delonge of blink-182 makes yet another great record that is completely underrated
• Blind Pilot, 3 Rounds And A Sound – A folky, acoustic album that makes you hope this band will be around for years to come.
• Fall Out Boy, Folie à Deux – An band overlooked for being too poppy, they prove themselves for those willing to listen.
• Switchfoot, Hello Hurricane - The latest from Switchfoot, going from perfect alt rock songs to perfect pop songs all in the matter of 45 minutes…

Em janeiro de 2010 o trio Blink 182 começará a gravar seu novo álbum. Pelo menos existem fortes rumores que, depois de quatro anos afastados da mídia, o grupo se reuniu no início desse ano ano para programar as gravações, compor letras e fazer buxixo na imprensa.
Mark Hoppus, vocalista e baixista da banda, contou em seu Twitter que talvez produza alguma coisa antes da volta do Blink, mas jpá está ouvindo algumas demos.

Der Montag entwickelt sich so langsam aber sicher zum Geschichtentag, es ist ja schließlich auch das Wochenende, bei dem zumeist zumindest hoffentlich etwas passiert ist, vorbei. Auch am heutigen Montag war wieder ein Wochenende vorbei, und mir ist wieder und zum ersten mal so richtig heftig aufgefallen: Mein Leben beziehungsweise mein Lebensumfeld ist allgemein, nüchtern, soziologisch betrachtet eine Standard-Highschool-Teenie-Komödie à la American Pie oder Eine wie Keine und Co…

Viele der bekannten Stereotypen lassen sich mit ein wenig Phantasie und Überspitzung durchaus wiedererkennen. Wir haben die Cheerleadergirlies, bald schon zerfressen von Quindus Kosmetika. Wir haben die Typen, die von Party zu Party ziehen, dabei immer auf der Suche nach der nächsten ins Beuteschema fallenden “natürlichen Schönheit”. Auch eben diese Beute ist immer wieder erkennbar. Mal eben mitgenommen vom Prädator, aber doch in den meisten Fällen nicht bemitleidenswert, da selbstverschuldet in dieser Situation. Immer wieder wird sich über den “idiotischen Typen” beklagt, um ihm am Ende doch wieder in die Arme zu fallen.

Wir sehen also klare Parallelen zur gängigen amerikanischen Teeniekomödie. Aber auch die Nebenrollen sind besetzt: “andere Typen” gibt es natürlich zuhauf und in allen Ausführungen: Zum einen diejenigen, die ihr Ding durchziehen, auf andere scheißen und dadurch unbehelligt bleiben. Zum anderen aber auch jene mit nicht sooo vielen Freunden, aber einer einzigen großen Leidenschaft. Hier ist oft auch ein Zurückziehen und Warten auf Interesse an der eigenen Person zu erkennen, sollte aufgrund Wegfallen der Leidenschaft oder anderer Probleme die Laune mal in den Keller gehen.

Außerdem gibt es noch den/die unauffällige/n Typen/Typin, der/die aber doch schon lange Zuneigung zu Person xy verspürt, dies aber entweder nicht zeigen kann oder, vom Misserfolg gezeichnet, resigniert. Dann hätten wir noch die eher esoterische, philosophische, aber auch leicht kauzige Fraktion sowie die stets aufgedrehten Everybody’s Darlings.

Und alle zusammen sind sie wochenends beim Alkoholkonsum anzutreffen, natürlich.

Ich möchte hier keinesfalls im großen Stile die Schubladen aufmachen, und natürlich gilt hier

“Die Handlung und alle handelnden Personen sind frei erfunden. Jegliche Ähnlichkeit mit lebenden oder realen Personen wären rein zufällig”

(nein, an dieser Stelle kein 500 Days Of Summer Witz), aber es sind doch wirklich Elemente dieser Standardcharaktere zu finden, zwar oft nur in Teilen oder gemischt, aber zu erkennen ist es meiner Meinung nach doch.

Schreit eigentlich nach einer Satire, Funghi, biste dabei?

Fehlt dann nur noch ein wenig passende Musik und wir sind tatsächlich im Film:

Sollte dieser Artikel ein wenig zu harsch geschrieben sein oder vielleicht komisch und unverständlich erscheinen, so entschuldige ich mich, bin eventuell in einem leicht ungewöhnlichen Zustand. und da mir mein Außenkorrespondent gerade die Nachricht sendet dass wir überziehen und es hier Gefahr laufe, so emotional zu werden wie sonst nur in anderen, jungen Bloggern, beantworte ich noch schnell die Frage nach dem Film-Stereotypen, dem ich entspreche: Ich weiß es nicht und vermag es auch nicht zu schätzen, wer was dazu meint darf es gerne äußern, ich fühl mich nur von Zeit zu Zeit wie in Dammit von Blink-182:

Os americanos do Blink 182 devem lançar um disco de inéditas em 2010, isso foi o que deu a entender o baixista e vocalista do trio, Mark Hoppus, em sua página no twitter.

Nesse fim de semana o baixista disse que a banda deve voltar aos estúdios em janeiro de 2010, depois de 6 anos sem lançar um álbum de inéditas. “Ouvindo demos. Devo produzir algumas coisas antes de entrar em estúdio com o Blink 182 em janeiro”, disse Hoppus.

Além de Hoppus, a banda é formada pelo guitarrista Tom DeLonge e pelo excelente baterista Travis Barker. O trio que no começo era só mais uma banda do new punk dos anos 90, com o tempo evoluíram e seus dois últimos álbuns são excelentes.

O Blink 182 ficou longe dos palcos por 4 anos, mas retornaram esse ano com uma turnê junto com o Fall Out Boy.
