Backyard from the living room

Hehe, again back to English because i’m quite not in the mood to write now in Finnish. But i will write more often from now on…i guess it’s just the laziness in me right now that won’t let me do it.

And finally i can say that winter is here. Everything is covered with snow, really nicely… -18 degree outside… and most of the roads of the country blocked. Yeah, that’s what happens every year around November and December. I do wonder why, since it’s not the middle of the summer and suddenly we would have snow and everyone would be shocked about it. It’s almost the end of December and let’s face it’s not a shame already that we have such amount of snow. A lot of accidents, over 55 trains canceled, trains that are going to Bucharest Nord station are late over 2 hours and the rest in a better case just 20 minutes or so. 18 national roads and highways are closed because are covered with snow of over 10 cm and is more than dangerous to be there. All the news full with the accidents happening, and now i ask…don’t drivers know winter-tyres have been invented and also other equipment for such situations. Duhhh, so annoying to see it all the time…and together with the politics it’s just worse. I personally really do not care about politics but this whole snow thing is making me angry how inconsiderate some people are.

Well right now some sun came out, but i bet it’s really cold outside. I don’t think i will go out today, even though i should be going to shopping with mum, but ah not really wanting to. I’m fine thanks in my room with a cup of hot wine with cinnamon

All right, I don’t expect to win any popularity contests with my winning personality and charm. I’m

All right, I don’t expect to win any popularity contests with my winning personality and charm. I’m pretty open and blunt and those things don’t make friends and influence people. I’m pretty cynical and jaded, too, and those things don’t make for someone others want to cuddle up with. I understand that, and in recent years I’ve mellowed as much as I can. Time will mellow me further, I’m sure, and like a good wine, I might continue to get better. (Or just turn to vinegar. We’ll see.)

At the same time, I don’t expect someone who’s never had any conflict with me, never met me, never had any communication with me of any kind, in any way, in any circumstance, to have a problem with me.

Does that seem unusual? Is that unreasonable? I expect to have problems with people who know me. The better they know me, the larger a problem they’re likely to have with me. I know that, I accept that. If we do happen to be friends, it may just be a matter of time before I tick you off or offend you or insult you. Okay, I’m aware of that. But for someone to take a distaste for me and display it electronically without ever talking to me before having an issue with me?

Well, I’ll leave it at “I’m baffled.” And I know it’s me, because the same person doesn’t seem to have a problem with my wife.

It’s worse than what I’m painting here too, because this person is respected around the Internet within the publishing industry. It’s a literary agent, actually. And that scares the holy crap out of me. I’ve managed to blacklist myself with someone in the industry already and I haven’t even finished my first manuscript yet.

I’m doing my best not to panic, but I can’t figure out what I’ve done to make this person angry, especially in this arena of electronic communication. Did something spam from out of my account I wasn’t aware of? Did I inadvertently broadcast something negative? Did I accidentally offend with something I’ve said?

Oh, it all harkens back to Linda’s “be careful what you say on the Internet!” post. I’m sure I didn’t do anything directly to that person, and I’ve never, to my knowledge, mentioned this person by name in any electronic way. Maybe I complained about the agent/gatekeeper process one too many times. Maybe they think it’s offensive that I feel the way I do about them. Whatever the case I can’t find out because somewhere, somehow, this person has banished me electronically. I only found out by trying to connect with them. That’s it. I had no idea until I tried. Others can, and one Facebook friend suggested they were being “pre-emptive”. Gracious, really? What the heck?!

Oh well. Too late now. I wonder if I should reach out find out what’s wrong? On the other end of that, however – I’m blocked, so I can’t.

Interesting, no?

Millions of Indian mobile phones with no valid unique identification code have been blocked for security reasons.

The International

Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number is a 15-digit code which appears on the operator’s network whenever a call is made.

The absence of this number makes it impossible to trace either the caller or the phone or to access call details.

Indian intelligence agencies say phones without the code have been used in attacks by militant groups.

Mobile phones without the code were blocked at midnight – operators were asked to bar calls to them “in the wake of increased threat perception from militants”.

Cheap

It is estimated that India has more than 25 million phones without codes.

Phones with no codes or invalid numbers are mostly cheap, unbranded phones.

Millions are manufactured in India or imported, mostly from China.

Correspondents say these phones are popular because they are usually much cheaper than the branded ones.

Many phone subscribers said they were being wrongly penalised because they were not aware that every handset had to have a code.

The Cellular Operators’ Association of India has asked the government to extend the deadline for blocking the numbers so that it can install identity numbers on unbranded devices.

According to estimates by the Indian Cellular Association, unbranded phones account for nearly 30% of all sales in India.

India has the fastest growing mobile phone market in the world, with more than 488 million subscribers.

Every month millions of new subscribers are added to the list.

Me and the damn technicality, it is only 12:08 a.m. Anyways, today I was reading New Moon because I was really bored and this Twitard comes up to me and asks: “Are you on Team Edward or Team Jacob?” And I reply: “No, I’m on Team Go Fuck Yourself!” Luckily she didn’t get a brick and bash in my face. Oh well, today made sad post on 20th, bummed out because school sucks. Day picked up after the incident between the Twitard and I. Funny really because she was a friend of mine, it’s just when she talks about Twilight I fell like going an hero and taking her with me. Also today tried to get on Encyclopedia Dramamtica, SISD blocked it for blogs and forums. But they block 4chan.org for an actual reason at least, y’know “Adult Sexually Explicit”. Whatever, Will signing off.

If you think your acne is just due to dirty skin or too much chocolate, you couldn’t be furthe

If you think your acne is just due to dirty skin or too much chocolate, you couldn’t be further from the truth…

The simple fact is acne only ever happens when
(a) Your pores block
AND
(b) Oil builds up

Chocolate categorically does not ’cause’ this to happen. An imbalanced diet might make acne more likely but it isn’t the ’cause’ (great news if you are chocolate lover).

There is no exact cause of acne. Your skin can happily go about its business shedding skin cells and producing sebum oil for years then suddenly your pores become blocked and acne appears.

There are however many situations in which your pores will have a higher tendency to block.

While trying to find the most likely reason your pores are blocking, it is very important to note that excess oil on your skin is not a ’cause’ of acne. Your face could be swimming in oil and no acne would occur if your pores were clear of blockages.

Suggested causes of blockages in pores are;

- Hormones
- Diet
- Genetics
- Vitamin deficiency
- Steroid use
- Stress
- Cosmetics

And so on… most of these suggestions result in one or both of the following,

1. A sudden increase in oil production
2. A decrease in the speed of your skin cycle

The most common cause of blocked pores is a sudden increase in oil production. When your sebum glands suddenly produce more oil than normally, your pores cannot release is fast enough onto your skin and will block, trapping oil and creating acne.

Should you be in a period of your life (e.g. teens, pregnancy, and severe stress) where your hormones are not balanced, you may suffer from sudden increases in oil and thus acne. Similarly, if your diet is not balanced, you will also suffer from this.

A decrease in the speed of your skin cycle is the most common cause of adult acne. This might be caused by work stress, diet change or even menopause.

What ends up occurring in this case is the skin is not used to how slowly the new cells are being pushed to the surface so it holds on to the dead cells for too long. These then end up blocking the pores.

We don’t know why some pores block and others don’t however we do know that once you have had acne in a particular skin area, the walls of the pores will be weaker and more prone to folding in on themselves and narrowing the exit for the oil. A small blockage that would get easily swept away by the oil in another pore might then block that particular pore.

Some types of exfoliation can help avoid a blockage in your pores from dead skin build up and we will discuss those later. The point to note now is that the surface of your skin is not flat.

Using a regular exfoliant with little beads in it from the chemist is not going to remove dead skin cells from inside the crevasses of your skin. It is most definitely not going to remove any dead skin cells that have gotten inside your pores. If you can feel the grains of the exfoliant, they are too big to get inside your pores.

Regardless of the cause of blocked pores, once the pores are blocked, the result is the same… acne.

Now I don’t understand college football that much. I catch a game occasionally because I am still one of the very few people left on the planet who watch free television rather then pay for cable. But this article got me thinking:

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=dw-boise110709&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

(you will have to copy and paste the site into your browser since for some strange reason it won’t allow me to link it)

If Boise State really is as good as the article is saying, then why the heck would anyone NOT accept their proposal. I mean, come on, you get free televised coverage and a home game that means your fans will be there cheering your team on. And yet, there are no takers because Boise is considered pretty much, at least in my mind, a “no-name” school by the big guns.

Boise State seems caught in a catch-22 situation. They need the coverage from a better team to prove themselves, but no better team wants them to prove themselves. And yet, the better teams tell them they have to play the same schedule to prove themselves and won’t give them an “in” into that schedule. HELLO? Anyone else seem a little frustrated about it?

HEY FOOTBALL COACHES – SOMEONE TAKE THEM UP ON THE OFFER! What have you got to lose?

Day two of Write Nonfiction in November has dawned. Are you feeling the pressure of moving forward with your nonfiction writing project? Are you fingers sitting over the keyboard and…not moving? Do you know what you want to write but are you having trouble getting the words to flow? Or are you having difficulty even figuring out what project to tackle during this month’s challenge or coming up with a subject about which to write?

If you are struggling with the dreaded writer’s block, or any semblance of a lack of creativity, I’ve got just the solution to your problem. I’ve asked my friend and creativity mentor, Mary Knippel to join us right at the start of the Write Nonfiction in November challenge. As the first expert guest blogger, she offers us some superb tips to keep our words flowing all month long. Mary, who also is a writer, speaker and workshop leader, conducts workshops to help participants connect with their creativity. Here’s what she has to say about connecting with your muse and generating creative energy.

Coaxing Creativity Into Your Writing Life
By Mary E. Knippel

Let’s talk about how to get the spark back into your writing. The phrase Writer’s Block is known to strike terror in the hearts of all writers, because when it occurs we can’t call on our creativity to perform as we’d command a dog to sit or to roll over. But we can use little tricks to coax and invite creativity into our lives.

Jack London tells us, “You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” Somewhere in-between Mr. London’s club and the following suggestions, I hope you’ll find a way to invite creativity into your life.

Take a hike or a walk, or a swim, or do yoga. In other words, exercise and breathe deeply. The great writer Brenda Uland, who wrote the classic “If You Want to Write,” said we should walk for hours to exercise our muse. Since moving a pencil, pen or a computer mouse isn’t much of a weight-bearing activity, we need to unleash our physical side to tap into our brain.

Give yourself permission to play and develop an attitude of playfulness.Paint, sew, stamp, garden, collage, bead, hit a ball, jump in the water, or blow bubbles. Lose yourself in the sheer joy of bouncing a ball, paddling a canoe, watching the bobble of a fishing line instead of the blinking cursor while you try to figure out the next phrase.

Seek out the masters. Who do you admire? Why? What is it that sets them apart? Transcribe a chapter of your favorite book. Go to a reading at the local library, bookstore, college, or university. Attend a class or workshop.

Take a nap. Dream your way to creativity! A Harvard study determined that sleep helps us learn and proposes that sleep is a state required for the nervous system to grow and change. Musicians have heard the scores of operas and the strains of classical masterpieces while asleep. Our dreams produce unusual combinations of ideas that can seem surreal, but they also can result in an amazingly creative solution to an important problem.

Think outside the box. Experiment and break the rules. There’s usually another way to accomplish everything. Be an inventor. When faced with a seemingly unsolvable problem, decide on the outcome you want and work backwards. The shortest distance between point A and point B may be a straight line, but is getting there that way fun?

Sit in a different spot. Allowing ourselves to think outside the box means we can shift our perspective. I recently had to wait for my husband at his office and I felt like I was in George Jetson’s cartoon living room–very modern and futuristic without an ounce of warm and fuzzy. It made me appreciate my comforts and how I get into my writing space emotionally as well as physically.

Change your focus or point of view. Be willing to see the situation from another point of view. Fresh eyes could interpret things in an entirely new light. Stuck about how to approach your writing project? Write in a journal. Write an unsent letter. Make a list of random words.

I’m off to tear up some magazines for a collage before I begin writing. I hope you’ve found an idea or two to get your writing juices flowing.

Come on, coax your creativity today!

Wooooooooooo, scary.

That’s about all I have to say on the subject, but I thought it couldn’t hurt to get into the spirit of things. I may even get myself a costume and head off into the dark of the night to obtain sweeties. Maybe not.

Much like my previous post, I am still pretty much blocked in more than one respect, but I want plough through any such difficulties and put some words down on paper (or the screen). My last post was a bit asinine and was cut down in its prime before I could really plunge into the realms of the pointless. This one is fast heading in the same direction.

I’m talking shit again….

Right, shut up and focus.

Today was my day off from work and I’ve started to realise that having a significant other is something I actually am starting to miss. It’s been a fair few months since I was last seeing someone, and whilst that did prove a little disastrous, I am beginning missing all the little intimacies that go with having a girlfriend. I miss just chilling (I could happily kill anyone who refers to this as ‘chillaxing’) at my place and cuddling up to watch a movie or spending the day out together just ambling about. Sure, there is a hell of a lot of things that being single does let me enjoy – meaningless sex for example – but I’m 31 now and all that shit seems to have somehow come to appear tedious and without purpose. It is still fucking enjoyable though…

I guess I’d like to meet someone, someone a bit kooky and with a sense of fun. Other than that I don’t really have any set criteria. A few posts back I sat down and thought about what I look for in a girl, but making such a list made me more aware of how much it’s best to view people you meet with an open mind – you’ve a much larger chance of meeting someone you like if you’re not bogged down by ill-advised parameters or set criteria. You’ll just end up not giving people a chance. I’ve always been a firm believer in the statement “you’ll meet someone when you least expect it” and that’s the way I expect this to go. It may be a fair while until I do cross paths with a girl who clicks my buttons and rocks my world, so I’ll stop worrying about until that day comes and then I’ll bore the fuck out of all and sundry with some posts about it.

Until that day.

Today I’m feeling a little blocked up. Firstly I’m bunged up with the same head cold that’s been with me for some 2 weeks now and is showing no signs of leaving, secondly I’m utterly at a loss for something to write about. This is going to be one of those posts where I just sort of write the first thing that pops into my head and hopefully inspiration will strike somewhere along the line.

I’ve just been shouted at.

Apparently the job I thought I had until this evening to complete (I sometimes do friends and family favours by sorting food out for their parties) I actually only have a couple of hours so this post is being cut short in its prime so I can hit the kitchen and get myself prepping.

I’ll pop back later. (I should really just delete this and not publish it, but for some reason I feel compelled to continue even now it’s got to the point where I’m just talking shit without any purpose. I guess I kind of like it. It’s just a silly little post that shows me for the scatter-brain, using brackets kind of motherfucker that I am)

Many women are now choosing to have tubal reversal surgery instead of the alternative of IVF to have

Many women are now choosing to have tubal reversal surgery instead of the alternative of IVF to have another child after tubal ligation. Not only is tubal reversal surgery more natural it is less expensive and less taxing on the woman’s body. But what happens if the fallopian tubes block after surgery?

This is a very popular question among women who are researching the possibility of tubal reversal surgery or those who have already had it and are not conceiving right away. Many times the issue may not be blocked tubes but inconclusive results

Blocked tubes can happen after tubal reversal surgery. This is one of the things that can happen and for a surgeon to tell you that it won’t happen is not right. What the leading tubal reversal surgeon gives for advice is to wait a year and if you still have not conceived then have a test called a Hysterosalpingogram (HSG). What this does is check the tubes to make sure there is no blockage in the fallopian tubes.

Dr. Berger and Dr. Monteith of Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center have seen inaccurate results on a regular basis. The first thing they do is when they hear from a tubal reversal patient stating she has had the HSG a and the results are showing blocked tubes is to have the results sent to them right away. Many times the test results are inconclusive thus giving the wrong results.

The problem with the HSG is that many times the person performing the test is not reading the results right or one of the fallopian tubes will spasm and the dye will not pass through thus being read as a blockage.

All too many times tubal reversal patients have just not felt “right” and find out they are pregnant after being told the fallopian tubes are blocked and pregnancy was not possible.

The main thing to remember is that if you have had tubal reversal surgery and are told you have blocked tubes this may not be the case. All too many women have given up hope and thrown in the towel only to find out their dreams are about to come true.

If you are researching tubal reversal surgery it would do you good to have a look at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center’s website and read the vast amount of information and have a look at the videos. Tubal reversal surgery is a huge decision and the better educated a person is the better-informed decision that can be made.

“It’s clearly a crisis of two things: of consciousness and conditioning. These are the two things that the psychedelics attack. We have the technological power, the engineering skills to save our planet, to cure disease, to feed the hungry, to end war; But we lack the intellectual vision, the ability to change our minds. We must decondition ourselves from 10,000 years of bad behavior. And, it’s not easy. ”
