Well, it just comes from the URA Fever song by the Kills.

I love this song, and the Kills are just f***ing incredibly talented and inspiring !

I’ll be making some presentational changes to the blog over the weekend. Votes were overwhelmingly in favour of de-orangification! Comments welcome. I’m looking for a cleaner and more professional presentation, but to retain the functionality of the old version.

I’ve decided to use the Grid Focus theme by Derek Punsalan, with some light adjustments to the header (but not much else) in order to include an image. There are quite a few things I cannot change, such as the links on the bar under the image, and I was interested to see that the sidebar on this theme changes from the main blog page to individual post pages.

I’m quite happy with it so far, but would be interested to hear feedback.

For those of you who regularly read Rogue blogs Zaltu over at One Rogue’s Journey is hanging up his daggers and calling it a day.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to Zaltu for his contribution to the Rogue community. One Rogue’s Journey is definitely one the premium Rogue blogs out there.

Personally, I’ve always looked forward to reading his posts and he’s been an inspiration to me to keep pushing myself and learning more and more about the Rogue class.

As of this week, I shall no longer be writing blog posts about How To play anymore. This is for several reasons, but the main one is that it is far too restrictive to write in. The first few How To Posts that I wrote were ideas that had been spinning round in my head for several months (In the case of DRM, several years). However, I don’t think I can continue writing blog posts with the same regularity as my various observations on the subject of gaming as a whole, and still make a good job of it. To that end, I’ve decided to cease forcing myself to write them every week, and will add them into the usual regular updates.

To that end, I will still be updating twice a week. I like writing this blog, and I’m happy to continue. Although when I write this my reader count is quite small, I would still like to write posts well and coherently. So you’ll still see a post every Monday and Thursday at 10:00 GTM on the dot (Thanks to the wonders of scheduling). So check back tomorrow for an post on whatever I decided to write about.

My last request is for the people who read it at the moment. I am well aware that I’m a small blink in the blogospheare, but if you like this blog, comment and tell your friends to read it. If you don’t like it, comment anyway. Tell me what you don’t like, tell me what you’d like to see incorporated into my writing style. I’ll always read the comments, and I’ll always read and respond.

Naval (sic) gazing

I’ve made a few slight changes to the blog I thought I ought to explain. The UKBA press department has gone mad in recent months and produces so much garbage it drowns out the other items in the news feed. I’ve therefore separated it out into its own box. I might also filter out the various UKBA enforcement announcements bollocks (it’s all very Two Minutes) but not tonight. I’ve promoted the much-clicked-upon BAILII case law feed to the top of the left hand panel but limited it to five items, which is usually enough to see anything new.

On the right hand side, the HJT Training advert is back with news of the upcoming annual judicial review conference (and will continue to come and go at the top of the right hand column to promote upcoming courses or conferences), and I’ve also made explicit my links with HJT in a new Training page.

I’m getting a bit bored of the orange theme and the current blog design generally and am considering another re-vamp – which is a decent excuse for another of these gimmicky poll things:

It’s now Wednesday afternoon, and I have three more jobs to do today, which will take up most of the afternoon. Then, I won’t be back online probably until next Monday.

So I want to take this opportunity to wish all my friends and fellow bloggers out there a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving holiday!

Thanks for the 6,178 hits the blog totaled, and the 4,770 hits to The Harry_Read_Me File post alone for Nov. 23. Today’s running total for Harry would have also been a new high for the blog…last week. So, hey, keep ‘em coming. I’m not going anywhere.

All you newcomers, please stop by again. Though I doubt I will ever have anything of such import to impart, there’s always the humor, the rampant foul language and, of course, the naked women that are, sadly, inexplicably absent from so many scientific treatises.

At some point today, our little ol’ corner of the interwebs, somewhere stashed in between topless pictures of Bea Arthur and videos of kids accidently kicking their dad’s in the cods, has hit 1,000,000 page views.  Thems is paltry numbers for some, but they’re our paltry numbers damnit!  Thanks to all who have ever linked us, from the Deadspins, EDSBSs, Busted Coverages, and Dr. Saturdays of the world to the rest of you o’ blogging brtheren.  To all of the SEC message boards that have completely plausible theories of how Nick Saban is totally leaving Alabama and coming to their respective school, thank you too for the love.  And finally thanks to all that waste mindless moments over here throughout the day.  We encourage you to continue your patronage.

I’m sorry about the lack of regular updates lately. I’ve been hunting for a new apartment and that has been taking up a lot of my time. Soon I’ll be back with updates every day.

I also have some ideas for the direction I want this blog to go into. This has been a great experience for me and I’ve learned a lot about how to make a successful blog. Thanks to everyone for reading!

I’ll be making appearance on Sportstalk with Bo Mattingly  (with FOTP Live and Loud frequent guest Jordan Stuckey)live from the NWA at around 1:30 this afternoon to talk LSU fans and the Ku Klux Klan, which are two conversations with only slight variations.  At this point I really should come up with something to promote on these shows, over and above the site, like say a book…maybe an informative “How-t0″ on shelving or just a collection of tasteful black and whites of hairless kittens…something nice like that. 

I’ll be making another appearance on The Morning Vent in Mississippi’s capitol cityTuesday morning at 9 with sports radio host savants Kev and Jay. Potential topics to include the race for Shreveport, LSU/Ole Miss, and the impending Egg Bowl, and matters of international diplomacy.

Well folks, I’ve been posting to this blog more or less continuously since mid-July, but the coffeeshop is closing up for a bit.

Thanksgiving is coming up, meaning its time for me to hit the road once more. That, along with other business I need to take care of, will prevent me from enlightening you with my golden pearls of wisdom for the next week. I’m also laying off of my compulsive link-Tweeting, though you might catch me making pithy notes or commenting on your blogs if I have the time.

I’ll be back next Monday. Try not to burn the house down while I’m gone.
