We were only but a dream folded neatly between out subconscious selves before morning dews dared us to shine. We are merely humbled and blessed to be here as natives who come from the world of art to colour life with love unbreakable.

We intend to showcase the depths of our souls with creativity unimagined! What beautiful mysteries it is to come together, all six of us with purpose to experience ourselves in all that we could ever be and live emotions we have always possessed in our wildest most Godly selves.

Walk with us, experience with us. Welcome to our world……

………………….These are the hungry natives!

Ganesh?

This caught my eye earlier on this month, there are often reports of holy figures appearing in foods (who can forget Cheesus in Glee?). Hindus in Leicester were convinced, however, that Ganesh had appeared in an aubergine.

You have to admit that it is a pretty good likeness.

Mr Visram, owner of the catering company that found the likeness said:

“There have been at least 80 people who have come to pray at the temple and to see the aubergine. It is spreading good feeling throughout the community”

“That is the way things like this should be treated. It has been a blessing for us and I hope will bring us luck and prosperity.

“This has been sent to us and we shall treat this with the respect it deserves.”

Mr Visram said the vegetable was deteriorating and once it got too decomposed to display he would put it in a local river in a ceremony.

Throughout the summer, we will be taking your child on a journey with the Israelites as God leads them out of Egypt and into the Promised Land!

Sunday, we will be teaching about the plagues, taken from Exodus 3 – 13. Even though the Israelites were beaten, oppressed, and felt as if there were no hope for them, God provided a way – just like he always does. Your child will learn that with each plague that God sent against the Egyptians, Israel’s faith was strengthened so that when the last plague came and brought with it the death of all of Egypt’s firstborn, the Israelites trusted God and obeyed Him. Because of their obedience to God, the Israelites were saved! Soon the Israelites would learn that God’s providence was just getting started. During this series your child will be able to see God deliver the Israelites from slavery, provide food in the desert, and guide His people in many other ways. Most importantly, your child will learn that all of God’s provision in these stories was leading to his greatest provision of all – providing His own Son to be our Savior and Redeemer.

See you Sunday!

It’s past four A.M. and I feel exhausted, or at least I tell myself that. I clutch my pillows

It’s past four A.M. and I feel exhausted, or at least I tell myself that. I clutch my pillows more tightly as if to say “yes, this is it. I am going to sleep now. See?” But no amount of telling myself that I’m going to sleep ever works, not as long as I can hear myself think. That’s why I almost always listen to podcasts when I go to bed. Other peoples’ voices aren’t exactly soothing, but in listening to them while tired I find myself slowly and surely loosing the ability to follow what is being said as I lapse into sleep.

This is what happens when I don’t drown out the voices in my head: I tell myself that I should buy bug spray because – oh my god – what if there’s a cockroach in the room? I think, what the hell am I doing thinking about bugs and getting all itchy? I try very, very hard to wipe those thoughts away. In the effort to replace the thought with something precious like nostalgia I am then struck with a deep sadness. I was thinking about my old Nintendo 64 and how much I loved it as a kid – only to then remember that while I was in High School I decided it would be interesting to case-mod an N64 and took apart one of my most beloved childhood memories. The disassembled Nintendo 64 now sits collecting dust while a friend’s N64 sits in it’s old place. I tell myself that it’s okay, I can just buy a used N64 online. Hell, I could buy three or four used N64′s considering how cheap they probably are. But then I started thinking about what-ifs like “what if one day I go to buy new controllers, or an old game, and I can’t find them anymore? What if the things I want later are disappearing now?”

Some nights these malignant thoughts frustrate me to the point where I think to deny them the opportunity to disrupt my sleep. If I just don’t sleep, there’s no way I’d run into this problem, right? It’s no wonder I wake up 90% of the time with an iPod uncomfortably lodged between bed and chest, and the faint sound of voices coming from headphones scattered among the sleep.

Hello Everyone, Managing recruitment processes, job applications and applicants is a key aspect of h

Hello Everyone,

Managing recruitment processes, job applications and applicants is a key aspect of human resources management in any organization. The HRM module of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 provides a very efficient and effective way of managing open jobs in an organization and applications and applicants who are applying for the open jobs.

In today’s post I will highlight,

How to create open jobs and publish the Job ads to the enterprise portal.

How candidates/applicants( Both External and Internal) can view and apply for Open jobs.

How applicants/candidates can submit their resume to the organization for considerations to any open jobs.

How recruiters can view and manage all the incoming job applications at one central location and process them further.

Create Jobs and Publish them on Organization portal:

Go to HRM > Common > Organizations > Jobs.

Create a new job. In this case let us say it is for a DAX Technical Consultant.

3. Create the required positions under the HRM > Organizations > Positions.

4. The next step is to create the recruitment project and create the job ads for that.

5. Go to HRM > Recruitment > Recruitment Projects and create a new recruitment project.

6. Create the Job ad for this recruitment project and enable this to be published on the enterprise portal.

With this, we are done creating the open jobs and publishing them to the portal.

Candidates viewing and applying for jobs on the portal:

AX allows both internal employees/existing employees and external applicants to apply for open job. The site services feature can be used to integrate the external job portals and company websites to AX. External candidates can apply directly from portals and company websites with this integration. (Note: These tasks will need some technical works and some development as well and it is not fully functional out of the box.

When candidates log on to the portal of AX 2012, they get to see a direct link to all the open jobs in the organization.

3. Copy paste your resume and click Apply. Note: You can customize this to have a direct link for resume attachment/uploading.

Note that, candidates can also apply and submit their resumes without any open job also. All of these applications will be gathered against a Unsolicited recruitment project.

Recruiters viewing and processing received applications:

The Application Basket in AX is the central location for all the received applications both from enterprise portal and external sites(job portals , company websites if integrated). The recruiters finds all the key information about the applications such as candidate contact information , resume attachments, address etc.

Go to HRM > Periodic > Recruitment > Application Basket.

Loyalty comes in all shapes and sizes until questionable disruptions rise to the surface.

The definition of loyalty is: devoted attachment or affection for another, a feeling of allegiance.

The bond of sincerity or homage works both ways. All parties involved uphold each other through integrity and honesty. Such a relationship is of utmost importance and considered in some instances as almost sacred.

Often, one is considered a subject or subordinate to a person of notability or in a position of authority.

But….what happens when that trust is broken?

The person in authority may eliminate the subject quietly and subtlety from their life or remove them in a show of prestige.

The underling stands by observing the crumbling of their allegiance due to less than honest motivations. Drama unfolds before their very eyes leaving many questions unanswered.

As time passes information dribbles out like a leaky faucet. The underling remains devoted all the while analyzing data looming over the exposed jurisdiction.

Sometimes it is better to keep quiet.

Yet, for the inquisitive mind remaining subdued is not always easy.

Snooping around in the authority figures fans of admiration can place a mark on your forehead. Treason! The underling is quickly viewed as the ultimate betrayer even if the drama is true.

The day arrives when the underling notices beady eyes and evil frowns staring as if your lunch splattered all over your face.

Co-workers stop texting. Facebook friends un-friend you. The few phone calls you received suddenly stop.

The next in line is the pink slip on your office desk from your most worthy ally; or so you thought.

“How could you do this to me?” you scream at your boss.

“Sorry, but it wasn’t up to me” he says.

“Then who? Who did this?” Looking up at the ceiling and running his hands through his hair your boss avoids your hurt face.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” the underling screams and begins to weep.

“How could he? I have been his most loyal and ardent associate standing up for his actions and protocol even when I didn’t agree. How about all those thhinnngggss I, well you know, sort of hid? What about risking my reputation, job and personal integrity for his fraudulent activities?

I have given up my personal life, weekends and much time missed with my family to support his plans and this is what I get?”

“You were asking too many questions. We tried to tell you to keep your mouth shut. In this business challenging his motives or agenda is the wrong thing to do.”

Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”

Months later the clout of seniority is fractured, crippled by his lack of involvement or incompetence. Interrogations into lawlessness and illegal violations set the stage for a major breach of conduct. Practice of inequality, favoritism and the abuse of privacy are at the center of controversy. Whose job is on the line now?

Incrimination becomes the name of the game. “Pass the buck” interferes with “the buck stops here.” Directives begin at the top. Lowly subjects carry little influence. They only do what they are told. Forget honesty and integrity. Everyone else is a scapegoat.

Throwing an underling under anyone’s bus is not a good idea.

The Pope is seen in St Peter’s Square, having a brief conversation with the priest standing behind the child before placing his hands on the child’s head for about 15 seconds. The boy appears to convulse, his mouth dropping wide open before he exhales sharply.

Marking marathon completed at last, so I have a little more time to blog, until next week anyway when I start examining GCSE papers!

I came across this on the subject of equal marriage in the wake pf the arguments in and around parliament, published by a 13 year old’s mother (@caronmlindsay) with her permission. It makes for a very good read:

Marriage can be an important milestone in a person’s life, so naturally unmarried people of all ages fantasise about their own wedding – them and their beloved, the perfect bride and groom, committing to each other. Their parents crying through the ceremony, so proud of their baby. No fear of being disowned, nobody to call their relationship “unnatural”, “illegitimate” or even morally wrong.

In 2015, same sex marriage is set to be introduced in Scotland, giving any two individuals, regardless of gender the right to get officially married instead of the £”separate but equal” option of civil partnership. While this idea has rounded up a lot of support, those who disagree with it are perhaps the most vocal.

The number one reason for an individual to hold “traditional” (read: homophobic) marriage values is that their religion forbids it. The the infamous Leviticus 18:22 that may homophobic Christians love to call on. “Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind. It is an abomination.” Upon hearing these words, every rational human being should be able to constantly pick out the holes in this flawed and overused quote. The first being that the Bible is a very old book that was not originally written in English and this particular verse can be translated in several different ways, eg elderly men not lying with young boys. The second is that some of the laws of the Old Testament are invalid. The same people who condemn homosexuality are rarely seen forcing victims of rape to marry their rapists (Deuteronomy 22:28-29) or killing those who work on Sundays (Exodus 35:2). While the Bible can provide solace and teach some wonderful lessons, some early books are not to be taken word for word.

However the most important reason religious arguments fall apart in this case is this: In the UK, we are not a theocracy. While everyone has the right to use their religious beliefs to govern their own life, it is not fair to use your religion to restrict someone else. It is not an exercise of religious freedom to try and prevent marriage equality. If you disapprove of same gender marriages, the noble thing to do would be to let those involved in such marriages live their lives in peace. Your homophobia cannot be justified by religion, your bigotry is no less awful with a quote from a holy book.

Unfortunately, religious reasons are just a small section of the motivation behind people’s closed-mindedness. One of the other frequently used arguments is perhaps even more preposterous, even more illogical, and it is this: most couples of the same gender cannot have children.

While this can tie in with religious arguments “Go forth and multiply, Genesis 9:7) it is often just used on its own. It is difficult to see why this argument is so often used without a religious statement when a simple look at some statistics render it entirely invalid: over 900 million people in the world are starving. There are over 15,000 children in care in Scotland alone. In a world with so many people and not enough resources, or rather not enough co-operation from wealthy countries to share said resources), surely having a child is not the sole reason a marriage is formed – and f people who cannot have biological children wish to adopt, they are helping an already existent life instead of creating a new one.

Discussing whether a couple can have children or not in relation to marriage equality makes even less sense when you consider the real facts. A menopausal woman or infertile person can still get married, the possibility of a child is never picked on in these cases. Besides, many couples marry and do not desire children, whereas many children re born to unmarried parents, proving that marriage and reproduction are by no means mutually inclusive.

This argument falls apart again when you realise that just because the two people of the same gender cannot get married to each other, they are not immediately going to leave each other to enter a heterosexual relationship and have children. The two people will stay together anyway so allowing them to marry will not prevent the births of any children.

Many will say that as civil partnership exists as a near identical alternative for couples of the same gender, granting them the right to marry is not necessary. While it is true that the same benefits are granted to couples in a civil partnership, marriage holds certain emotional and cultural significance and connotations. Young children dream of one day getting married, not getting “civilly partnered”.

Another reason it is harmful to separate them into two different institutions is that many people will try to de-legitimise a civil partnership by saying it is not a true marriage and does not count. This could be very hurtful to the civilly partnered couple and would give people more reason to say bigoted things about how same gender couples cannot truly get married and therefore their relationships do not count.

In any case, the concept of “separate but equal” has proven itself to be a flawed argument many times throughout history. Separate does not mean equal. Calling it equal is something only the accepted, privileged people can say safely, while the other group feels inadequate, like their “equal” separate thing is a rip-off of the original.

There is one argument in particular that does not even try to try its utter and blatant homophobia and the people who use it do not seem to realise how harmful the thing they are saying is. I am of course referring to the argument that marriage equality would “promote the homosexual lifestyle” and make people accept same gender couples as normal. This argument is often used by closed minded people who cannot grasp that how people are able to express their relationships does not revolve around one individuals personal views.

This argument, along with “gay people are disgusting and unnatural” has no basis. All these arguments can be easily exposed as illogical and heterosexist with no back-up for the argument whatsoever. I could just as easily say that society’s unwavering acceptance of marriage between one man and one woman suggests an “heterosexual lifestyle” and give no reasons why this is a bad thing but still oppose such marriages.

Apart from the obvious homophobia, this argument perpetuates that sexual and romantic orientation is a choice and excludes bisexual people in same gender couples.

In conclusion, marriage equality is certainly a good idea because it would improve the general quality of life for same gender couples while those it doe not directly affect would suffer no ill effects. It would make the institution of marriage fairer and contribute to reducing prejudice by normalising same gender relationships. Theo only arguments against this are from self-centred individuals who cannot respect the rights of other people to be treated equally. A place where same gender couples are treated as legally equal to heterosexuals is a place one step closer to destroying homophobia before it destroys many more lives.

So today is our first night in Oregon…we’re in Crescent City at the moment.

We drove through some of the Redwood forest today, and had originally planned to camp in Jedediah Smith state park until we realized that once you add up the cost of camping ($35…entirely too much), firewood since you can’t gather wood in the park, usage fees, and driving to town and back to get cash to pay for the site, you’re better off getting a cheap hotel with a comfortable bed and decent breakfast for $52. It’s still cold here-it’ll drop down into the low 40s and will probably rain (again) tonight, so a hotel room is a welcome change from the last three nights of tent camping, last night in the pouring rain.

We didn’t take any photos of the redwoods yet since it was getting dark as we pulled in, but I’ll update with some photos tomorrow.

In the meantime, here are some from the last two days in Oregon-a few from Cape Mears lighthouse and a few scattered from other parts of the coast. Enjoy!

And finally, one of the last views of the Oregon coast before we crossed into California.

At some point Sunday or Monday, my power steering pump bracket decided it didn’t need to be in one piece anymore and proceeded to break the lower mounting ear off the bracket. Normally, that wouldn’t be a huge deal and I’d just find a new bracket at the junkyard, but the bracket I used was a very rare piece that came on cars that were ordered without A/C but with power steering. It’s a small bracket that really helps clean up the engine bay. Anyhow, the lower mounting ear broke, but stayed attached to the pump itself.

Once I checked out the issue, I was left with basically two options-drive the hour and a half back to Portland from where we were camped at Nehalem, OR to hit up RSI, or I could head the 20 miles or so south to Tillamook and see what I could find there. I opted for the latter.

A few minutes on the phone found me M&H Welding in Tillamook-the gentleman on the other end told me to bring it on by and they’d see if they could help. I pulled up to the shop and started taking the pump and bracket off the block-a few minutes later, I handed the bracket and broken piece to Ed who promised to do his best. Cast aluminum is pretty tough to weld, and it was only made harder since the metal wasn’t very clean to begin with. Ed worked his magic and made 3 passes over the broken seam, grooved it, put another bead in it, and called it good.

Everything lined back up perfectly and it bolted back onto the motor without issue. It’s been fine so far, and I don’t see any reason why it should be a problem again.

Thanks Ed and M&H Welding for helping me out in a pinch!

All told, we were back on the road headed south in about an hour. Not a bad stopover, and I got to meet a couple pretty cool local people.

Regrettably, I didn’t have time to stop at the enormous Tillamook Air Museum, but we did make time for the Tillamook Cheese Factory-pretty neat place. I was dubious as we pulled up to the front of the building, but it was actually a pretty cool stopover-lots of fresh cheese and ice cream for the taking!

Remember when the days were far too short and our minds relentlessly hovered over the thought of each other? Remember when distance was but a small feat: two cities failed to separate us. Remember when, for a brief second, we each had an enticing revelation in knowing ‘this’ felt as though it was gaining tangible momentum and ‘this’ really could work? Remember what it felt like to kiss; an electric pulse stimulating every inch of ourselves until we blissfully succumbed to the sensation?

Remember the day you first introduced the ‘E’ word into the mix: ‘exclusive’. Remember your constant discomfort in believing I was far too popular among these irrelevant and standard University boys? Remember when, after a tiresome day of work, you would call because you wanted to? Remember when I sent an email to your office but it was flagged for inappropriate language; I still blush with embarrassment knowing all of the tech. people were privy to my secret message. Remember when you didn’t reply?

Remember when impulse got the better of me and I allowed my best friend to accompany me to your city for a night? Remember how you panicked at the thought of me actually not meeting up with you. Remember when you shook her hand in apology and, for a brief moment, she fell victim to your practiced charm? Remember the freezie-tasting drinks in Mason Jars? Remember that night?

Remember how long that Friday felt until we could see each other again? Remember before dinner? Remember staying at the Italian restaurant until it locked up? Remember after dinner: the next morning? Remember brunch on Sunday when you sparked the ‘this’ conversation; I thought you were dumping me while I was discretely texting my cousin to tell her how mortified I was. Remember how I tried to make it easier for you in saying distance was too difficult… but you pulled through and wanted it? Remember that picture of lips hanging in the storefront window; how it reminded you of me? Remember the kiss-break as you stopped us in the middle of a staircase to kiss me just for the hell of it?

Remember calling me while I was on the train home because I was your ‘sweetheart’ and it was my new privilege. Remember the void you felt next to you that night? Remember my first heart emoticon: one of many to come? Remember when a move to Montreal seemed to be a viable option and a sacrifice I was ready to make? Remember when the move was something you wanted? Remember the deterioration; when silence began to win. Remember when the girl you’d run barefoot to Waterloo for suddenly held no real significance … as if she ever really did? Remember xx?

Remember when I messaged you after you took a three week vacation from life and came back new: as if the girl in the dress was never real. Remember saying “what I don’t want is for us to stop talking” as you fed me some line to shut me up? Remember when I said stupid things to reflect your stupid behaviour and, exhausted, we lost the last remaining fragment of ‘this’ that somehow remained. Do you remember anything?

How dare you act as if I had simply elaborated ‘this’? How can you turn it off and feel nothing now; I remember it all too well. Maybe remembering every detail is my character flaw. Perhaps forgetting each one is your coping mechanism. Maybe, I’m reading too much into something that was strictly physical and emotionless; a one night stand gone horribly awry for four months.

I hope I’m not as easily forgotten as you aren’t.
