Welcome to the first ever post, of hockey on a bus. I’m very excited and I will make it a personal goal to review at least 2 blogs a week.

Today is Puck Drop Wednesday because today the new Puck Drop site went live. Puck Drop is a very cool blog using a collaboration method to track events and happenings in the NHL. He includes his twitter feed (I think every blogger should) and he has a blog roll small enough that its useful yet large enough that it adds value.

On to the actual review

The simplicity here is important… its a blog about content not flash, but some may feel that its too stripped down. However it is very easy to navigate.

I would like to see the authors a highlighted a little better… they are on the bottom of his sidebar I’d argue he should probably have it at or near the top.

When you select an author you are guided to a page that includes a side bar and their articles. I would probably also add a twitter feed in the side bar for each author as well (which may be in the works)… Featured here is a the feed of allhabs.

We are not exclusive to Hockey!

See that list over there?  The one on the right with all those names?  That’s my list of favorite blogs that I love to check in on with some regularity.  I just updated it.  Some people had to go.  Their blogs no longer interested me or their links no longer worked.  Some made me sad to delete (like the news photographer up the road apiece whose blog got rolled into a local paper’s site).

I am thrilled, though, to add some new blogs and hope you can check out some of them yourself, dear Reader.  A couple, Jen in berkeley and A knitted frenzy, have been in my inbox for months and I go back to them on a regular basis.  I just hadn’t taken the time to move them here.  I started reading Jen while she was still teaching in LA, but she moved and still writes interesting, funny posts, now from Berkeley, another favorite town.  Kim writes a knitted frenzy from just up the road and works for a school district I know.  We have another connection in that she attended the same high school as my son-in-law.  We share war stories from our classrooms.

I love to go to blogs that have blog rolls posted so that I can try out new reads.  Some work, some don’t.  We all have different tastes, which is what makes this blogland so interesting and compels me to keep coming back.  I hope you too, dear Reader, can find something new when you check out some of my favorites.

Alors voilà j’en ai encore des tremblements dans les bras tant la nouvelle m’attriste. Pas que les irlandais soient éliminés du Mondial alors que la France a triché bien entendu, non ça je m’en balance comme de ma première paire d’Adidas rose à 8 ans, celle qui m’a permis d’escalader mieux qu’une chèvre et de casser ma fourche de vélo Peugeot en dévalant des escaliers.

Kriss, vient de partir animer les outre-ondes à seulement 60 ans. Terminé cette voix du dimanche légèrement rauque et si enjouée. A l’antenne, elle avait depuis quelques temps passé le relais, d’elle, il ne restait que le nom de l’émission, Kriss Crumble.

Lorsqu’on a grandi avec la radio, et en particulier avec France Inter, dans les oreilles dès la naissance, il y a des voix qui marquent, des voix auxquelles on s’attache. Et avec, tout un univers qu’on s’imagine. Kriss était mon amie du dimanche matin. Lorsqu’en classe prépa, après avoir bossé toute la semaine vingt heures par jour, vous devez réussir à trouver l’énergie d’aller encore étudier à la Bibliothèque Nationale le dimanche matin, eh bien vous bénissez le service public d’avoir recruté Kriss. Une femme qui réussissait simultanément à vous façonner des abdos en béton (tout mon stock de rire pour une semaine était consommé ce matin là) et à vous changer les idées, quel que soit le sujet dont elle s’occupait (Portraits Sensibles). Mon plus beau fou-rire, celui qui me fait encore retrousser les lèvres alors que j’écris ces lignes, c’est une histoire d’adoption d’un troupeau girafe comme animaux de compagnie, raconté par Jean-Jacques Vannier. Il avait d’ailleurs extrait son second spectacle de ses histoires pour Kriss : A par ça, la vie est belle et c’est tant mieux. Encore plus que l’histoire elle-même, c’est le rire de cette femme que j’entends encore derrière. Un rire franc et cristallin comme on en fait trop rarement. Son seul rire me faisait tenir. Je n’avais plus besoin de manger pour sentir le fondant (pomme, poire, potiron…) et les croquants (céréales, noix, chocolat…) d’un crumble envahir mon palais.

Après Macha Béranger (« Tu es encore debout ? Il est l’heure d’aller se coucher » disait mon père sans jamais me gronder), José Arthur (qui dévoilait en avance les titres du Canard Enchaîné le mardi soir), Louis Bozon (pour les cinq premières minutes du jeu et le topos géographique de la commune), Jean-Pierre Gaillard (et son jingle « La Bourse, Jean-Pierre Gaillard » du matin, qui me permettait de savoir si j’allais être en retard à l’école) et Claude Villers (pour qui je me privais de goûter rien que pour entendre sa voix de grand-père que je n’ai pas connu) s’en va Kriss, dernier rempart de ma vie d’avant vingt ans. Toutes ces personnes primordiales qui ont forgé mon amour d’un média sonore qui risque bientôt de ne plus être ce qu’il est/était (cf. la radio numérique). Toutes ces voix que je n’avais pas besoin de voir pour les aimer (cf. cette nouvelle mode ignoble de filmer les émissions de radio).

Je sais bien que chacun vieillit mais mourir à soixante ans un jeudi lorsqu’on s’appelait Kriss, ce n’est pas normal pour celle qui avait endoctriné des milliers de personnes au « C’est dimanche, c’est légal ». Salut M’dame.
