Uansett så tenkte jeg å vise dere noen (det vil si TO) av de nye neglelakkene jeg fikk av Torbjørn.
Jeg fikk Euro Centrale Minis, som består av følgene farger:
Can’t find my czechbook, You’re such a Budapest, Suzi’s Hungary again! og Oy-Another Polish joke!
Ettersom jeg ikke kan teste alle på en gang, fikk jeg prøvd de som fristet først:

LOOK HOW PRETTY THE COLORS ARE. Åh, jeg elsker SPESIELT godt “Can’t find my Czechbook”, den turkise. Den er så nyydelig og kommer til å bli enda penere når jeg blir litt mer tan. Oh yeah.
Dette er forøvrig tre lag neglelakk, ettersom spesielt den lilla var veldig see-through.

De to andre skal jeg få testet snart.
Den rosa (Suzi’s Hungary again!) fikk jeg prøvd på igår, men jeg klarte å rive (ja, rive) den av før jeg fikk tatt bilde. Den var helt ok, men ikke en favoritt.

Nå skal jeg kose meg videre med disse og drømme meg videre etter nye allerede.
Haha, jeg klarer nesten ikke veente på Bond Girls-lakkene!

Først og fremst, harde perioder har alle som trener. De som sier de ikke møter veggen en gang eller to lyver. Når jeg i sommer bestemte meg for å ta ett skikkelig oppgjør med helsa mi, så var det ikke uten vansker. Jeg slet, jeg var slite, trøtt, ville ikke, orket ikke, skulle “bare”. Unnskyldningene var så mange, men jeg måtte bare ta ett valg, og jeg visste at de første ukene kom til å være helt forferdelige, men det er verdt det når de er over og de gode vanene kommer. Det tar 6 uker å lage en vane, så hold ut.

Det smarteste jeg har gjort mtp. styrketrening, fettnedgang og økt styrke var å få hjelp av noen med peiling. Få hjelp til å sette opp ett treningsprogram eller finn ett på eks. fitnessbloggen og hold deg til det, det er da resultatene kommer. Når du binder deg til noe og jobber hard og målrettet.

Den andre tingen er, vær realistisk. Det er lett å si at du skal trene hver dag og spise sunt, det er svært vanskelig å legge om sånn på dagen, begynn realistisk. Bytt ut matvarer med sunnere alternativer, bli mer bevisst, tren 3 dager i uka og bygg det oppover. Før du vet det så er alt tipptopp og resultatene kommer. Så om du leser dette og tenker “jeg begynner imorgen”, så nei. Du begynner nå! Om det bare er en tur i nabolaget eller en sunnere middag, så er det en begynnelse.

Og for de som tror jeg reiser på gymmet hver dag uten problem, kan lese dette. Jeg sliter med dørstokkmila jeg også, men jeg har bare bestemt meg for at viljen min er større enn latheten.

Wow what a week!

It started out grey, not like “life is sad and grey” but it was actually raining for two days and that is not something that happens very often here in L.A, so it was different, but good!

The nature needed it badly and it was nice to just stay inside and listen to the raindrops knocking on my window.

On Monday I was with my beautiful and beloved Cathrine (read her blog here) and we went to visit her boyfriend Ray Kay on set where he was directing his new music video for the group Emblem3.

I don’t think I need to say how fun it was. It is always a joy and a feeling of pride when you get to see your friends work.

I feel so lucky to have these guys in my life. I’m so proud of this super couple and I’m thankful to have them in my life. We have so much fun together and my L.A-life would not have been the same whiteout them.

After the day on set we went out for dinner with more friends at Nobu Matsuhisa. They have the best sushi in Hollywood and it’s so nice and intimate in there. Stars go there all the time. Drew Barrymore was siting right behind us and did a fun thing when she left , she got up from her table, bowed and said “thank you” to the chefs and they raised their glasses from behind the kitchen counter and said “thank you and goodbye” before they all took a sip.

She looked really good! she didn’t give much to the paparazzi’s when she left though, even when they had been standing there in the pouring rain for at least 30 minutes, because they where already there when we went in.

Tuesday was seriously my laziest day yet this year! I was in bed almost all day reading, watching movies and just listening to the rain, since it (for the second day) was poured down all day.

It was actually really nice, and oh, I forgot to tell you, I tried out the very popular two-day juice cleanse (it’s a big deal here in Hollywood these days), I will give you a whole post on how that worked out, but yeah, Tuesday was a “juice clense”- day and even though everyone else say that they get even more energy with the juices, I surely did not, because I was more tired than ever on those two days, but more about that later.

Wednesday was a big day for me here. I have finished my first 6-week’s of actors workshop in Los Angeles and it ended in an ocean of emotions and almost a shock.

Our teacher and coach gave me an evaluation I never would have dared to dream about and it ended with  huge applause from my classmates and me pouring out my happy tears.

You know what happiness is? – When people support you and believe in you for what you do and who you are! it’s priceless!

After that amazing moment I almost have a hard time remembering the rest of that day, but we went to the Farmers Market in the evening where we had a great time with some sweet new friends from Sweden and Danmark.

Plus ,the guy at Coffee bean gave me a free cup of coffee. What a great day indeed!

On Thursday, we went out on the ocean for Whale Watching, I told you all about that (scroll scroll) Beautiful day!

Ah, Friday! Hiking in the morning, like every other morning! I went to the pool and actually did a night out with the girls. It’s been a while so after two glasses of vine, this girl was dancing like crazy. oh, such fun times

Saturday, FINALLY!! We went to the movies to see The Great Gatsby, and my next post will be just about that! oh, I’m amazed! Seriously, when you get the opportunity, go see it! it’s a visual masterpiece!

Sunday, well, today! We have celebrated mothers day here in the U.S so I spent the day with my angel, my Hollywood-mom, my beloved Lena! First some hours by the pool, its been over 31 degrees here today (hot) and after that we went out for dinner at Soupplantation and shopping at Beverly Center! A great day with super-mom <3

Etter en rolig helg er jeg klar for en ny uke. Denne helgen har jeg vært på x-russefest, feiret tvillinger og slappet HELT av. Legger ved noen bilder jeg har tatt i helgen. Enjoy!:-)

Idag var jag så där lite extra taggad. Kändes som att det skulle gå riktigt riktigt bra även om kroppen kände av gårdagens ViPR-pass! Lade på lite mer vikt än senast och det fungerade bra! Jobbigt ja men riktigt gött! På väg till gymmet idag gick jag och lyssnade på musiken och taggade till rejält! Väl på plats var det bara att ställa iordning ens grejer i salen, sätta på lite härlig musik inför passet och tagga till. Idag blev det lite glamrock om du skulle fråga vissa; solen sken, pulsen pumpar så vad bättre än lite hederlig Mötley Crüe?!?!

Passet gick riktigt bra! Kändes som om att allt satt och jag är själv riktigt nöjd med passet! Laddar redan inför GRIT passet imorgon måndag! Annars har denna vecka varit fullt av en massa PT-klienter! Helt galet vad nice när ens klienter gör framsteg och sjläv ser att “Jo… jag kan så galet mkt mer än vad jag själv trodde!” En klient hade et PR i knäböj på 90kg och kliver in och kör en enkel 8:a på 95kg! Såg hur enkelt ut som helst! Var galet sugen på att kasta pp 97.5kg bara för att tagga henne för att 100kg fixar hon när hon vill! Beräknar man hennes beräknade 1RM i knäböj skulle det landa på 120kg. Vikten och tekniken finns där; det gäller endast att våga lasta stången!

Under veckan introducerade jag även ett nytt CrossTraining pass för maj månad! Suttit länge och funderat på vad jag skulle hitta på för något nytt spännande. Ville försöka finna någonting som jag inte gjort tidigare. Något som skulle kunna passa alla men som även skulle anspela något till det uppskattade Tabata pass som jag körde under april. Tycker att jag lyckadss riktigt bra. Det blev ett teampass med inspiration från Tabata. Kommer endast göra en lite korrigering till nästa pass. Nyfiken pp vad?  Kommer bli något mindre grupper. Full klass senast så då blev det fyra grupper med sex personer i respektive grupp. Nu blir det sex grupper med fyra i vardera.  Detta kommer att leda till att intensiteten ökar och du som deltagare kommer få mer tid att jobba med själva styrkeövningen; dvs bättre resultat utav din träning.

Den kommande vecka kommer dock se lite annorlunda ut för min del och jag komme tyvärr inte vara fullt lika tillgänglig på gymmet som vanligt.  Detta pga att min sambo kommer vara bortrest tillsammans med hennes jobb så jag kommer få mer tid hemma tillsammans med trollungen Selma! Får se vad Selma och pappa Johan ska hitta på när inte mamma Lotta är hemma…

Nästa helg är det dags för utbildning på nytt! Den här gången kommer jag tillsammans med mina trogna GRIT-brothers ta oss till Malmö för nästa release av GRIT Strength!  Får se vad det kommer att bjudas på för spännande nyheter!

God and the Spider
During World War II, a US marine was separated from his unit on a Pacific island. The fighting had been intense, and in the smoke and the crossfire he had lost touch with his comrades.
Alone in the jungle, he could hear enemy soldiers coming in his direction. Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to several small caves in the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the caves. Although safe for the moment, he realized that once the enemy soldiers looking for him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he would be killed.
As he waited, he prayed, “Lord, if it be your will, please protect me. Whatever your will though, I love you and trust you. Amen.”

After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw close. He thought, “Well, I guess the Lord isn’t going to help me out of this one.” Then he saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of his cave. As he watched, listening to the enemy searching for him all the while, the spider layered strand after strand of web across the opening of the cave.
“Hah, he thought. “What I need is a brick wall and what the Lord has sent me is a spider web. God does have a sense of humor.”

As the enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness of his hideout and could see them searching one cave after another. As they came to his, he got ready to make his last stand. To his amazement, however, after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on. Suddenly, he realized that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave looked as if no one had entered for quite a while. “Lord, forgive me,” prayed the young man. “I had forgotten that in you a spider’s web is stronger than a brick…

“In Colossians 3:1-4, Paul goes further. He says, “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Jesus-Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”

…”When you look in the mirror…you probably don’t see the new you that is seated with Christ–sitting at the right hand of the Father. You see the “struggling sinner” that you know you are. But Paul says that we have died and have been raised with Christ, past tense, and that this new life we have in Christ is, for now, hidden. But when Christ appears, then we will appear with him as we really are, the way he has already made us to be in him…

“My Brothers and Sisters..This means that it is not up to us to get salvation, or even to get righteous or moral, or better. Throughout the New Testament, Paul admonishes us to behave righteously because we already are in Christ. He never tells us to behave righteously in order to get Christ to accept us. Jesus-Christ died for us while were still sinners, Paul says in Romans 5:6. We were reconciled to God

Is there a mirror in Heaven?

while we were still his enemies, he adds in…Romans 5:10…

…”To this end my beloved, the Holy-Spirit works in us, leading us into the new life of love that God has given us in Christ-Jesus not to help us “measure up” or somehow “attain” salvation, but rather to help us learn how to be the “new person” that God has already made us to be in Christ. We are a “new creation” already seated with Christ at the right hand of the Father…

“So the next time you look in the mirror…well…take a moment to think about how “God sees you”. He sees you as his beloved child…”forgiven”, “clean”, “reconciled” and made “new in Jesus-Christ” I wonder if there will be mirrors in Heaven? hmmm…

“Have a Great Morning or Evening my brothers and Sisters in Christ-Jesus…and go-ahead and take a peek in the mirror!

Just as there was for Jesus, there is joy set before us, a future so wonderful that our current trials will seem minor…….

…….But we are not the only ones who will benefit. Paul says that there is a cosmic significance to God’s plan being worked out in us: For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed…Romans 8:19…

…”The creation not only wants to see us in glory, the creation itself will also be blessed with change when God’s plan is brought to completion, as Paul says in the next verses: For the creation was subjected to frustration … in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its “bondage to decay” and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God”…Romans 8:20-21…

“The creation is now in decay”…the whole universe lay waste at this time, in decay; it is not the way it was designed to be. But at the resurrection, when we are given the glory that rightly belongs to God’s children, the universe will in some way also be freed from its bondage. The entire universe has been redeemed by the work of Jesus-Christ…Col. 1:19-20…

…”Waiting patiently!”…
“Even though the price has already been paid, we do not yet see everything the way God wants it. “The whole creation has been “groaning” as in the pains of childbirth” right up to the present time..Romans. 8:22..The creation is burdened, as if in pain, as it forms the womb in which we are being birthed…

“Not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Holy-Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies…Romans 8:23…Even though we have been given the Holy-Spirit as an advance payment of salvation, we also struggle, for our salvation is not yet complete. We struggle with sin, we struggle with physical limitations, pain and sorrow, even while we rejoice in what Jesus-Christ has done for us’…

…”Salvation means that our bodies will be made new, no longer subject to decay..1 Cor. 15:53.. and transformed into glory. The physical world is not junk that must be tossed aside, God made it good, and he will make it good again. We do not know how bodies are resurrected, nor the properties of the transformed matter, but we can trust the Creator to complete his work…

“We do not yet see a perfect creation, neither in space nor on earth nor in our own bodies, but we have confident hope that it will be transformed. As Paul says: For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently…Romans 8:24-25…

…”We wait, with both patience and eagerness, for the resurrection of our bodies, when our adoption will be completed. We live in the situation of “already but not yet”: already redeemed, but not yet completely redeemed. We are already freed from condemnation, but not yet completely freed from sin. We are already in the kingdom, but it is not yet in its fullness. We live with aspects of the age to come, even as we struggle with aspects of the old age…..

……In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans …Romans 8:26…God knows our limitations and frustrations. He knows that our flesh is weak even when our spirit is willing, so his Spirit intercedes for us, even for needs we cannot put into words……

“God’s Holy-Spirit does not remove our weakness, but helps us in our weakness. He bridges the gap between old and new, between what we see and what he has declared us to be. For example, we sin even though we want to do righteousness …Romans 7:14-25…We see sin, but God declares us righteous, because God sees the end result even while the process has just begun”…

…”Despite the discrepancy between what we see and what we want, we can be confident that the Holy-Spirit does what we cannot. He will see us through. He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Holy-Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God…Romans 8:27…God is on our side, helping us, so we can be confident!!!…

…”Called according to his purpose”…
“Even despite our trials, our weakness and our sins, we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose…Romans 8:28…God does not cause all things, but he “allows them” and works with them for his purpose. He has a plan for us, and we can be confident that he will complete his work in us…Phil. 1:6…

“God planned in advance that we should become like his Son, Jesus-Christ. So he called us through the gospel, justified us through faith in his Son, and united us with him in his glory: For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified…Romans 8:29-30…

…”The meaning of foreknowledge and predestination is vigorously debated, and this verse does not resolve the debate, for Paul is not focusing on these words here nor does he elsewhere. Paul is not commenting, for example, on whether God allows people to reject the glory he has planned for them…

“Paul’s purpose here, as he nears the climax of his presentation of the gospel, is to assure readers that they do not need to worry about their salvation. If they want it, they’ll get it. And for rhetorical effect, Paul speaks even of being glorified in the past tense. It is as good as done. Even though we have struggles in this life, we can count on glory in the next life”…

…”More than conquerors”…
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? “If God is for us, who can be against us?” He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?..Romans 8:31-32..If God went so far as to give us his Son even when we were sinners, we can be sure that he will give us everything else that we need to make it. We can be sure that he is not going to get angry at us and take away his offer”…

“Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies…Romans 8:33-34…On the day of judgment, no one can accuse us, for God has declared us not guilty. No one can condemn us, for Jesus-Christ our Saviour is interceding for us: Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ-Jesus who died, more than that, who was raised to life is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. We have not just a sacrifice for our sins, but also a living Saviour who continues to help us in our “journey toward glory”…

…”Paul’s rhetorical skill shines in the stirring climax of the chapter”: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered”…Romans 8:35-37…quoting Ps. 44:22…Can our troubles separate us from God?…Even if we are killed for the faith…have we lost the battle?”…

Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O Lord, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.

“Absolutely not!…Paul says: No, in all these things we are more than “conquerors” through him who loved us. Even in pain and suffering, we are not losers, we are better than conquerors, because we share in the victory of Jesus-Christ. Our prize… our inheritance…is the eternal glory of God! The prize is infinitely greater than the cost…

…”For I am “convinced” that neither “death nor life”, neither “angels nor demons”, neither the “present nor the future”, nor “any powers”, neither “height nor depth”, nor “anything else in all creation”, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ-Jesus our Lord and Saviour…Romans 8:38-39…”Nothing” can separate us from the plan that God has for us. “Absolutely nothing” can separate us from his love. We can be confident in the salvation he has given us”…

“Will continue this Study of Romans later Lord Willing!…until then…Thank-You for your dedications in your studies of the scriptures of the words of God!

Last weekend STHLM COFFEE ACADEMY had their grand opening event and we were there of course. We took the opportunity to invite and present Legnology to a few press contacts and our new-found friends and bloggers Jenni, Tanja and Christine who all blog for a TV show at Swedish TV3. A great evening with lots of laughter, great music, coffee and drinks.

Not exactly sure what I was trying to achieve in that, but a couple of my old blogs were named “the alpha blogg” because of the supreme creature in the blogg family who made their name in the aquatic life of a submerged temple in Torvus Forest, cough I mean Torvus BOG cough.
Well it turned into a bog after the whole planet of Aether got screwed over the attempt and success of the hazardous and dangerous shadow race known as the ing and they pulled out the light from the temples built by the Luminoth race, which was corrupted and taken to an echo world of almost duplication except the fact that it has been darkened and a poisonous atmosphere is present, possessed and violent creatures roam as ings guard corrupted and darkened doppelgänger temples.

And it’s the only fucking game I haven’t finished, and it’s the only fucking disc that got scratched out of the Metroid Prime Series I own (well It’s my uncles but I kind just you know… Have them)

Such a beautiful, disturbing, scary and depressing game.
Not only being completely alone (which I have not much problem with) but the dark aether features warped constricted and depressed versions of the original aether not only in music soundtracking but visuals, creatures, and just the feeling of walking through the darkness and creepyness of the world just made it 10x worse, the creatures were a nuisance (the dark creatures were worse) and it was such a freakin chore finding everything while having to watch my back for random ings and space pirates materialising.

Seriously?

Just shoot me.

But games like Metroid Prime (especially 1 and what I’m talking about number 2: echoes), Metroid: Zero Mission/: Other M, Abe’s Oddysee/Exodus Portal/2, and Braid, just freaking crazy frustrating and maddening but are my favourite few games in the world for the puzzling manner that it’s more about the mystery of a weird demented world than just your usual shoot em up or normal puzzle game.
And I’m so thankful for them.
It helped with my imagination, my vocab, artistically, my ear for OSTs, puzzle solving, logical and leftfield thinking.
It’s something you have to think twice or even five+ times to figure that stuff out, and you just want to throw the game console/tv/computer through a wall but you just need to finish that damn game.

I hope you have something from childhood to take with you forever.
To influence you in many ways.
Because my leftfield gaming experience sure as hell did.

This psalm is by David. Unlike some of the other psalms, we get no other information. Some psalms say what kind of a song they are, or what instruments are used, or what David was going through when he wrote it. We get none of that. In that sense, it is a general idea. God can be trusted … no matter what.
David speaks in generalities of battle, worship, repentance and confidence.

• When my life is like this / God is like that.
• When my life is in need / God can be trusted
• no matter what

Psalm 27
King James Version (KJV)
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

The degree to which God can be trusted, no enemy can shake David’s confidence in Him
The LORD is my Light and my salvation

An experiment was recommended to me. It is a way of training your mind to solve new problems. Walk through your house in the dark with your eyes closed.
Without light, you use your other senses to avoid obstacles. In the dark, what will deliver you from tripping? Probably your sense of touch.
In treacherous times, David found that God was what helped him feel his way through. This Psalm is not an abstraction. David is not speaking theoretically or spiritually. He is speaking of real, military enemies, people who have the potential of killing him. He is describing situations he has experienced and can reasonably expect to experience again. God has protected him in battle in the past and David is certain that this will continue.

• God was with him against Goliath
• God was with him against the Philistines
• God was with him against Saul
• God was with him against the Jebusites
• God was with him against his own son Absalom

The main subject of this tirade is his confidence that God will be with him throughout even the most threatening situations. God is His protector and He can be trusted.

That is the essence of verse 3. KJV translates the last part of the verse very literally, it says “In this I will be confident.” This refers back to verse 1, thus becoming something of a motto for David in times of danger:

• The LORD is my light and my salvation!
• I will trust that
• No matter what
Remind yourself that God is your protector! Say it out loud! God is my protector!

The quickest way to burnout is refusing to trust others for their own responsibility. When we fall into this trap, we try to do what others should be doing.

This is especially true when the job is too big for us. God is our protector. We cannot do this job, because we do not see all the forces rallied against us. God does. We are not powerful enough to confront these forces. God is.

Just look at the forces standing against us every day:
• evil people
• good, but misguided people
• the supernatural forces of evil
• natural circumstances
• our own weaknesses

This is only a short thumbnail sketch. When we try, in our own strength to protect ourselves from problems from these various sources we wear ourselves out, because we cannot even always recognize them.
One thing we probably do not give enough attention to is that God is there when people oppose us. It is our inclination to ask why God does not prevent it.

I remember when I was a kid, we lived across the street from the school. One day at lunch I was out in the playground and I got into a fight. A teacher came out and broke it up. I learned later, that my mother had seen the problem and called it in. She did not do anything about it personally, because it was a school problem that the school needed to deal with.

God does not come rushing in to solve all our problems as they are happening, but He is there and we can be confident that He has our best interests at heart. We may not understand the reasons He allows something to happen, but we can be confident that He is our ultimate protection, and ultimate protection goes beyond the moment. Verse 2 acknowledges that God will deal with trouble makers in His own way, in His own time.

• He is light
• Salvation
• A stronghold

So we must trust God. He sees everything.
No matter what

David’s greatest joy and source of hope is worship
Like battle, for David, dwelling in the Tabernacle of God was not an abstract, it was a fact. 2 Samuel 6 tells the story of David bringing the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem from a private home where it had been kept. After this, according the Psalms especially, David deeply valued the time he could spend at the Tabernacle where God was said to live. This was the place of prayer and sacrifice. It was a place where a person made things right. It was the ancient way of spending time with God.

During the days of king Solomon, David’s son, the Temple filled this need. It was still the place of worship in Jesus’ day, but Jesus told us that His coming began a time when location would no longer be important. We could approach God anywhere, in our own spirits.

Remember that your relationship with God is key to your confidence

We come here to worship corporately, to pray, and to find encouragement. We come to help others in our own areas of strength and to combine our efforts for those in need. But in the long run, the Temple of God is not in this building, it is in His people. Our worship happens all the time, with every thing we think, say and do, we are expressing our worship of God.

The safety, joy and music that David experienced at the Tabernacle is now available in our own hearts.
How is this possible? The same way it was possible for David.

We still must intentionally seek the LORD’s presence. David did it by changing location, we do it by quieting our busy minds and focusing.

We must be persistent and regular in our focus
Do whatever you need to do. Get alone with God. Or get with your husband or wife and focus together. Take the time to quiet your heart. That may mean going outside to get away from noise and distraction. That may mean going to a park or to your own room. This is a discipline we should all cultivate regularly.

Remember, the average person in David’s time would have had to go to the Tabernacle and wait in line. He might have to spend all day to get to speak with the priest and present his sacrifice or ask his question. It is easy in our busy lives to shortchange God on time. But we should take it where we can and spend it in His word and in prayer with Him, getting to know Him and pouring out our hearts to Him.

David calls out to God when he feels his own guilt has turned God away

In verses 7-12 David recognized that some of his actions might anger God and cause Him to withdraw His blessing. We call those kinds of actions sin. Sin is not a terminal condition, but David knew that it was only God’s mercy that could overcome it.

I like David’s approach in verse 8
My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”

David knew when he had done something wrong. His own heart would try to steer him right. Sometimes we too are moved to look into God’s word, but business, stubbornness, or fatigue keeps us from doing it.
In verse 10 David speaks more about the closeness of God. Though God may seem far away, He is closer and more faithful than our parents. After all, our parents train us in the hopes that some day we will be able to leave them. God wants perpetual closeness.
David also knew that from God, he could not only receive mercy, but he could find guidance in the right moral paths in the future and avoid his current crisis.

David realized that God could be trusted. One time, when David was faced with a choice of discipline from God, he rejected attacks from enemies, because he knew that he would rather be in the hands of God than in the hands of people. God is merciful.

Seek God for forgiveness and peace.

• Just as David wanted to spend time with God his king to strengthen that relationship, we should
also seek to spend time with God
• Just as David called out for God’s forgiveness and direction, we too should seek His forgiveness and protection.

Our hearts sometimes speak to us … we call it conscience, but it is sometimes something more than our own voices. Sometimes it is God telling us that we need to fix a problem. We ignore that voice at times and in doing so, we damage our own hearts.
We have a stereotype of a wild looking man on a street corner, possibly in need of a bath or a new suit. His hair is in the wind and he is holding a Bible over his head and pointing with hatred at the crowd screaming the word

Repent!

Of course, this is not a word we use every day, so even if we don’t know what it means we make a decision. If that guy is repenting, he needs to try something different. And I don’t want any.

In fact, David paints a picture of repentance for us:
• He asks for God’s mercy (v.7)
• He asks for God’s kindness (v.9)
• He asks for God’s correction (v.11)

When we have done something that goes against God’s word, we need to follow that same procedure.

• We have done something wrong, In God’s mercy He will forgive
• We have done something worthy of punishment, In God’s kindness, He will withhold punishment
• We have done something in ignorance, God will correct us through His word and inner voice

So we don’t have to make the same mistake again. That is repentance. Acknowledging something we have done wrong, admitting and rejecting that sin, and determining to do right next time.

• God forgives our wrong doing when we ask Him to
• Our relationship with Him lays the groundwork for continued strength in the face of temptation
• His forgiveness ultimately frees us from guilt
• No matter what

David is confident that God will hear and answer
At the end of the psalm, David indicates that even though he may have done things that are wrong, and even though some people falsely accuse him of wrongdoing, God will still be good to him.

He expresses his confidence in extreme terms. He, specifically knows that God will not punish him with death. He will see God’s goodness “in the land of the living.” This is important. David knew that when he did wrong things, it deteriorated him in some way:

• Neglect destroyed his family
• Violence lead to danger
• Stealing a man’s wife lead to murder
• Personal pride led to the ravaging of his country

David was not a perfect man, but he understood that God was good and would forgive.

• No matter what!
• He had confidence in that fact.

He also understood that God worked in his own time. This required David to be patient, courageous and strong. And he had to trust God. These qualities were David’s responsibility and he had to develop them.

Acknowledge that all things happen in God’s time

God is good. We’ve heard that all our lives.
Sometimes, even I find that concept hard to buy. When things go wrong I want to know what God is doing while my life is falling apart. But He is there and He is at work:

• When I was fired from one job, God had another waiting for me, during Christmas time!
• When my next place of employment was bought out, I went to college for a different career
• While I’m going to college the Lord lead me to this Ministry, so far as a labor of Love
This was God’s doing every time. Oh the rewards I will recieve!

David had the key and we need to learn to grasp it. In our age of instant gratification, we sometimes lose patience with God. We want everything now. The example I used of being out of work
• By being fired
• By being bought out
• By Labor of Love ministry
never feels good. Some have noted that especially for a man, his self worth, right or wrong, is tied to his work. Being out of work or not paid means you are out of worth. It is difficult to work at finding work because that means rejection.

• However, God is at work
• No matter what

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

He is bending the path before you, whether you are looking for work or you are struggling with other problems. The path will lead to a place that reflects His goodness, if we are looking for it.

• Patience and Trust

• Strength and  Courage

We need to develop these virtues and know that God is there to lead and help. When our path seems dark

Jeg må innrømme at jeg har falt mest for den hvite, den rosa og den gullfargede.
Henholdsvis kalt Solitaire, Pussy Galore og Honey Ryder.
Den blå, den røde og den sortlilla minner meg mye om de jeg allerede har fra Mariah Carey-kolleksjonen, selv om jeg regner med at de er mer annerledes (og ganske fine!) i virkeligheten.

Jeg vet at både Zoya og China glaze har laget lakker som minner om Liquid sand, men foreløpig er jeg så glad i OPI sine at jeg trenger ikke annet. <3

O, materialistiske lykke!

Hvis det er noe dere lurer på så er det bare å kommentere det  

You hear it all the time, from experienced and novice runners a like. The hardest part of the run, the hardest step, is that first step out the door.
When I first started running seriously (about two years ago now) I had an emotional storm running through me due to the changes occurring in my life. Some were out of my control, others caused by my lack of control. My epilepsy was spiraling out of hand regardless of sincere efforts made on my part to make lifestyle changes to better my disease. My marriage was practically over. Every effort I made to repair it seemed to have the opposite effect. I felt unwanted, unloved, and alone. I hated the way I looked. I hated the fact that I was, what I considered to be “broken.” I was literally mad at my brain for not wanted to fix itself to survive. In the span of about four months I had about 5-6 seizures. After a while sobriety didn’t seem to make any sense any more. After days and nights of drinking with no resolve I wanted to run away. I wanted to run away from my life, my mistakes, and even myself. I had hated who I allowed myself to become. The way my life had turned out. Knowing I couldn’t in reality run away from my problems, and I would never abandon my son, I did the next best thing. I took that first step out the door….and ran…

I ran until I couldn’t breathe, then I ran some more. I ran until my shins ached and the soles of my feet burned. I ran as fast as I could for as long as I could. I wanted to throw up and I wanted to scream and cry. Before I knew it I was back home slouched over my back porch stairs exhausted, unable to breathe. After five minutes it happened. I was sore, I ached, and I was nauseous ….. but I suddenly felt happy. I hadn’t felt that way naturally in months. My thoughts seemed clearer. I wasn’t as upset about half the things that kept me awake the night before. It didn’t last forever but a midst what some would describe as the lowest point in one’s life (Don’t worry I found lower) I found a way to be happy. I was hooked.

There really wasn’t much symbolism to my running, I literally wanted to run away each time. Things still continued to progressively get worse both medically and in regards to my marriage. However running away wasn’t a realistic option. I continued to develop as a runner because I would run until my feet blistered, until my legs collapsed, until it hurt to try and breathe. It got to a point where for me to feel happy with myself I would need to run. If there was a day that I thought I might not be able to run I would get nervous because I knew, emotionally, I needed the physicality of running to be content with myself. I wanted to run and leave everything behind. On long runs I would let my thoughts wonder, no emotion was off limits, I allowed myself to feel and to think freely about how I felt about everything that was happening around me. All the while watching the world around me be passed by with each step I took, with each leg I put in front of the other I made strides in a direction. For me it felt like progress, something I had been missing. Sadly the euphoria was always temporary and to reach the same level of happiness I received from running I would continuously have to run further, faster, longer, harder, or any combination of the four.

When I first started running I could barely run a mile. Running a straight mile through at a ten minute pace was a milestone that took me months to reach. That used to be a good day. Today I have a hard time feeling content with four miles at an eight minute pace. I can even find myself running 10-13 miles on a weekend just because. Just because I don’t want to stop. It still takes a long time to get that runners high, sometimes I don’t even get it, but every time I take that first step out the door; that’s what I’m chasing. That memory of the first time, slouched over my back porch stairs, with every problem in the world seeming to occur all around and me being okay with that. In fact more than okay, ready to face it all head on because I can do this, I can survive, and I feel great about it.

This is where and how I draw motivation. Where do you draw yours? It doesn’t have to be running. Simply what motivates you to push yourself and excel at what you do best?
