The question….

If you could clone yourself, how would you split up your responsibilities?

The world has become such an amazing remarkable place.  Think back to the early 1900′s, this question probably wouldn’t have occurred to the average person.  Move forward to the 1950′s, and this was the realm of the weirdest and most magical science fiction, the stuff that the strangest movies were made of .  Move forward to 2013, and this edges on the realm of possibility, with cloning becoming a worry of the courts, and not just the fiction writer.

If I could clone myself…wow.  Well, first, I would have one clone who lived close to my daughters, who could spend evenings with them, and weekends.  Someone who could show them all the things that I wish I could on a daily basis.  I hate that there is so much distance between us.

I would like a  second clone to explore higher monetary endeavors.  Maybe send him to law school, or to get a business degree.  I would aim him to make $100,000 a year…maybe more.  I never poised myself to be wealthy or rich, but I don’t think it was ever outside of my grasp to do so…I would push one of my clones towards those endeavors, see how I’d do.

Then, I would make a few clones to be hunters.  I would groom them to be hunters of people.  They would be fingers of vengeance, pulling together to be a fist to punch a hole in the heart of gangland Chicago.  I’ve always wondered what life in Chicago would be like if a true-life “Batman” existed in this fair city, to bring cold fear to the gangs of the city…if I could clone myself, I would find out.

…this topic has been on my mind quite a bit as of late. The thought of my death. I don’t know why. I suppose it’s one of those topics that you find yourself thinking about…and so you tell yourself not to think about it…thus thinking about it more. The epitome of a vicious cycle perhaps.
Some people think that when you find your mind fixated on something, it’s a harbinger of what is to come. I don’t much worry about that. I’m not afraid of dying. I have yet to see someone come back to complain. I don’t even fear the pain that some deaths bring as I once did.
I suppose my biggest fear is for my life to be meaningless. To die without ever really living is my only real fear.
We are all born, and death will come for all of us. It’s the time in-between that truly offers us fear…that we’ve done nothing, stood for nothing, or amounted to nothing.
As my mind wanders though, I find myself thinking lots about my funeral.
How many people will be there?
What will they say?

…etc, etc, etc.

I hope there isn’t a lot of crying at my funeral. That’s a thought I don’t care to bear. There shouldn’t be a lot of liturgy and all that either. I don’t want mourning and sadness. I want a celebration of a life lived.

Let’s be real; this place kind of sucks. I mean life is grand and all that, but it’s hard living, full of crappiness too. The next life has to be better than this, so let’s celebrate that transition.

There should be lots of laughing. I laugh all the time. Anyone who knows me knows I don’t do serious well. It’s just not my style.
So, definitely laughing. There should also be music. Music is the cornerstone of my existence. There should be lots of music. A few songs in particular:
The gospel song. “I Feel Like Going On”

“You’ll Never Walk Alone”

“Somewhere over the rainbow”

“Georgia on my mind”

All of these songs have deep sentimental meaning to me.  They very well frame a life well lived.

I want there to be stories…lots of stories. I love a good story. I tell a decent one too. But people should share their memories and moments.

I don’t want to be buried in a suit. Once again, so not my style. Also, what a waste of a good suit. Bury me in a nice pair of jeans, and a button-down shirt. That’s be ok. I can’t fathom the thought of someone trying to stick me in some clown suit and dress shoes. I shudder enough wearing that jazz in my professional life. Perhaps they could bury me in one of my gi’s. I think that would be perfect…ready to choke out any ghouls or the devil himself.

It’s weird how these thoughts have filled my mind.  I suppose it’s also nice to get them out.  It’s often hard to talk to people about some things.

On and ever upward.

Well how cool am I?  I was nominated for the Inspiring Blogger Award, by one of my favorite bloggers nonetheless: Where Art Thou? Needless to say, this totally made me smile.  It’s always nice to feel appreciated.  In addition, it’s always nice to have someone compliment you on your work, especially when it’s sharing your life, personal thoughts and notions.  I often found myself dumbfounded by the fact that anyone would really care what I have to say…but I’m glad that at least a few people do.  Everytime I get one reader for a post, I feel like John Grisham.

1. I totally have a thing for redheads that borders dangerously along the lines of a fetish.
2. I have an addictive personality, which is why I refrain from drinking, drugs, and why I’m totally enamored and passionate about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  It’s my addiction.
3. Ugly feet are a total turn-off for me, while cute feet are a total turn-on, but I DO NOT have a foot fetish.
4. I love cuddling and making out.  I will take a hot make out session over actual intercourse anytime.
5. My long term goal in life is to get my doctorate.  I’m also a little dismayed that I’m so “late” in my educational path.
6. I’m very much of a hopeless romantic.  I have huge crushes on 2 of my close female friends.  I think close friends would make the ideal romantic partners, and don’t believe one bit in that “I don’t want to destroy our friendship” bulls**t.
7. When I first began discovering my sexual awakening, I found that regular Trojans and Durex condoms were super tight and uncomfortable.  So, I went to the store and bought a box of Magnu condomss.  Little did I know that I picked up the Magnum XL’s.  The first time I used one, the damn thing looked like a wind sock hanging off my johnson.  I was horrified, as was my partner, and I secretly believe I was scarred for life by this event.

BuzzFeed can be a one stop site for news and comedy. It’s a site where people can go from an article about violence against women to a list about the 25 biggest comma fails.  Which is why I think BuzzFeed is a successful blog site.
