Remember when I said that people who were spouting off every damn Apple Tablet rumor looked like idiots? Here’s proof. The fine folks over at The Apple Blog ran a post today where they linked to a video by the french site nowhereelse.fr, which claims to be video of the new upcoming tablet. The Apple Blog people spent a few paragraphs going on about how convincing the video is, and how maybe just maybe this is the real thing.

Seriously, Apple Blog? I thought you were supposed to be smart.

Watch the video, and look at the hands of the guy using the “tablet.” His shadows are blue. Do you know what causes a person to look like they have a blue shadow? That’s right, cupcake, bad bluescreening makes a person look like they have a goddamn blue shadow.

Goddamn blue shadows mean obviously fake footage of the goddamn Apple Tablet!

Just sit down before you hurt yourself, okay? I’d hate to see you slip on all that drool you’ve been letting fly like an exhausted chocolate lab and break your idiot back.

Okay, fine, I’d enjoy it. But stop it anyway, and return to the rest of us over here in the land of reality, won’t you, crapcakes?

The famous windows blue screen always take place when you do nothing wrong. The bsod can be made by several reasons such as broken hardware components, uncomfortable windows settings or unproper changes in installed software registry.

So How to fix the Blue Screen of Errors?

Scan for malicious software

Malicious software will is really harmful which will try to steal your private info such as credit card info If your PC is hacked by malicious software, there is a big change that your windows screen will turn into a blue screen to prevent inadvertent damage or loss to the system’s data.

Get the latest windows update

By Updating windows on a regular basis you will have a small opportunity to get the blue screen of death. To avoid this situation, you should pay attention to the Windows update daily. Microsoft has provided a simple and professional way for you to update your windows system, just turn on update feature in the windows control panel. When your windows system got updated, you will probably not encounter bsod again.

Making a full scan for Windows Registry with regcure review

Usually the blue screen takes place because something goes wrong with your windows registry. The windows registry can be thought as a central platform which will store the software install information, therefore, in most likelyhood it will got corrupt when it has got plenty of data. Then the blue screen of death occur. To fix the problem, all you need is just a rated windows registry cleaner.

Just another post to finish the night off, i’d send this from my phone again but it seems the email server is down for the night, oh well least the mobile internet isn’t!

ok so what have i done since my last post? test my blue screen tech with all the blue things i have in my house and concluded i need to buy a royal blue sheet style thing tomorrow after school, so i spent 2 hours researching all the fabric shops around my area, juding which one may be the cheapest option. i just hope i can get back from Harrogate in time before the shop shuts!

oh did i not mention i’m teaching in harrogate tomorrow? yeh another new school! gotta look good again so they’ll invite me back! as i said earlier about having no expectations or reservations about different schools. it’s all fun to me no matter where i am!

although i don’t know whats wrong with me at the moment, i wake up at 6am everyday yet for some reason don’t feel tired until the time comes round to 12ish at night! at first i thought it was the amount of coffee i was drinking yet i’ve cut down (alot) and it’s still made no difference! i’ve even stopped drinking it after 4pm!

enough about that now i think, i seem to have been talking to all sorts of people tonight on twitter! what a good night. thanks all! (@stuartm09, @nickie72, @caravanbutlins)

one last thought provoking comment? i think i’m going to try to do this every night

reading about the Global Warming Summit earlier the amount of private jets used flying all the delegates to the summit, the limosines used and cars and the heating on in the building etc. from what i’ve read and understand the carbon footprint of the summit is close to the same as running the town of middlesborough for 1 week!
Is it me or is this just entirely hypocritical? Okay, i know i’m probably a hypocrit as i’m not big on my recycling (well not as big as a should be). but surely there are other ways? as someone mentioned to me on twitter earlier (@nickie72) “HAVE THEY NEVER HEARD OF SKYPE?” i just thought this comment would go perfect! :p

anyways lets see what tonight brings! night night all

My presentation (blogged about by Kathy Schrock)was the use of Green screen in iMovie’09 which led to many people enquiring about a similar effect in Windows for Movie Maker. Doug Belshaw posted a link in the FlashMeeting and also explained to have a look through Google to find how; so I did.

Here’s the easiest to follow guide I have found and also a YouTube video demonstrating the principle. I’ll definitely give it a go and let you know how it works. By the way, from what I gather it’s best to use a well lit blue screen and not a green screen on MovieMaker.

Yes, with the advent of summer, and more sunny days, hardware *does* fail.
I just recently fried two sticks of RAM, as I pulled them out of my PC they were so hot I burned my fingers. Serves me right for having so many Hard Drives in there without thinking about fans.

You may be in a similar boat, if you PC blue-screens and restarts, maybe it just won’t turn on, all are common symptoms of PC’s that are now overheating.
What can you do about it? Well to find out if your PC is overheating, grab either Speccy or EVEREST Ultimate (Trial). EVEREST is nice as it can be left in the system tray while you carry on working.

If any of your parts (Such as HDD, Motherboard, CPU or Graphics Card) are over 50 degrees for a desktop, or 60 degrees for a laptop, they’re probably getting a bit too warm for prolonged use. Naturally laptops run hotter, and some can quite happily sit between 50-60 degrees their whole life, but if possible you want to keep it cooler.

What can you do about it?

You might need to pull the sides off your PC and use a can of compressed air to blow out the dust / cobwebs. You can pick up a can of compressed air for around $30 from Dick Smith Electronics (Product code N1238). Yes, that’s $30 but if it saves you having to replace a few hundred dollars worth of parts, it’s worth it right?
Note: Do NOT use your vacuum cleaner. It’s far too easy to knock the parts, the brushes can cause damage, and to be safe you’d have to hold it too far away for it to be truly useful. Use compressed air.

Now, take your PC outside, perhaps on your garage floor or driveway with both sides off, stand it up, and blow into all the fans and around the circuitry. Be sure not to knock anything and you’ll be just fine.

What about your Router? Well if you cannot afford to replace your router with one that’s less prone to overheating, try moving it out of direct sunlight, or off the floor. You could try having a mini desk-fan blowing over it, or some people have even had good results using a Plate Stand to put their router on. If you’ve gotta get a fan on your router, it’s on it’s last legs and will need replacing sooner rather than later. See my previous blog posts for information on what routers are decent and what routers you should avoid, such as the freebies that many ISP’s give away.

If you’re still having issues with your PC overheating, restarting or freezing, then try posting on PressF1.co.nz and seeing what they say.

If this has been helpful to you in any way, please drop me a line and say Hi, share your thoughts, I’d love to hear from you

If this looks familiar, we sympathize. All of us have seen this at one time or another, especially those of us who spend a lot of time working on a computer. The last thing we want to see is the image above. But when we do see it, as inevitably most of us will, the first thing that come to mind is: What do I do now?

We could tell you not to panic, but that would be pointless. As our computer is as much a part of our anatomy as our legs, we’re going to panic when something goes wrong. So after you’ve panicked, it’s time to figure out what to do.

First, if you suspect it’s a virus that has caused the above, you can attempt to remove it yourself. Personally, this is not the method I use as I just don’t have the patience for it. However, there are plenty of people who can and do have the patience, and utilizing such books as Windows Lockdown, they discover how to eliminate an intruding virus. It might take them a bit of time, but they get their computer cleaned with little to no money out of pocket. I reiterate, that’s not what I do.

So my next suggestion is for all of you who would much rather have someone else take care of the problem while you’re home biting your nails. Here goes:

Let me say this up front as it’s extremely important. Do not assume that a big name computer repair company is going to fix your computer with little or no hassle and have you back to work on your masterpiece within a day or so. I have, in the past, depended upon a computer repair company that is well-known and boasts about its quick repair times and efficient service. Almost a month later, I got my computer back with just as many problems as I’d originally had.

Anyway, my suggestion would be to look for someone in your town/city with a good reputation. You might want to spend a little bit of time searching for computer repair companies/individuals on the Internet. Don’t just look at their prices. Look at their customer ratings if they have any. Check out what they do, their turnaround times, and whether or not they offer guarantees.

Next, call your chosen place and ask a few questions. You want them to sound knowledgeable without trying to make you feel like an idiot because you don’t what RAM actually does. Look upon this as a mini-interview. Just as you research agents and publishers, you need to research your computer repair specialist. Tell him/her the problem and see what they say. If their automatic response is ‘you’ll have to bring it in and let me take a look at it’, find out if they offer free diagnostics. If not, will they take the cost of the diagnostic off the final repair price?

Once you’ve chosen the individual/company that’s going to be working on your baby and you take your computer in, be sure to get the name of the tech you’re speaking to. If the individual is not a tech, ask if you can speak with one before you just hand over your computer. You want to make sure it’s in good hands. Once you speak with the tech, get his/her name as well and get an anticipated turnaround time for the repairs.

When you leave the store or the individual’s place of business, make sure you have a repair ticket or proof that the computer you’re leaving behind is yours. You don’t want any mix-ups when you return.

And just a quick add-on before we end Part I, always pay by check if at all possible. You don’t want to give a credit card or debit card number as some places may add fees you didn’t authorize, i.e., the upload of a new virus software. They will just automatically charge your card because it’s written in the really tiny print on the front page of that paper you signed and didn’t take the time to read. So a check is always preferable. If they don’t take checks, use your credit card, but make sure they know you are only authorizing payment for the charges you have discussed, no more. I actually write that on the repair sheet, and I draw a line through any nebulous terminology that has to do with additional charges.

So ends Part I. Part II will include ways to protect your computer, back-up your files even if you don’t have an external hard-drive, and ways to avoid being scammed with the brand new, shiny software that is supposed to do everything but wipe off your computer screen.

Mac Busy Wheel

So there was a new update of MacOS X 10.6.2 a few days ago. So I thought yeah why not. I started the update, it said it will require a restart, I clicked OK. Then it got stuck in this blue screen of death loop. I’m serious, why do software guys like blue screens that much? Is it a comforting color for the user to see so that they are less likely to call up and complain? Because coming from a Windows user I am extremely paranoid about blue screens or as they are more widely known as the blue-screen-of-death. There is another one I like which is the circle that overtakes your cursor when the operating system is busy doing something, how ironic that Microsoft and Apple both choose to use a circular motion to indicate a process, thus the nickname circle-of-death or marble-of-doom, especially when some programs just do not shake out of it.

Vista Busy Wheel

So there I was sitting there waiting for my freaking computer to respond to me. After 2 hours I gave up. I force quit the system although my brain told me this is probably not a good idea. I didn’t really have a choice. Thankfully nothing tragic happened. So I tried it again and sure enough same thing. So I thought screw that, I’m not going to waste so much time freaking updating software. So I kind of forgot about it. Until now.

This afternoon, I turned on my PC MAC, I keep on saying PC, and it wouldn’t let me type. It was acting as if some key was being pressed on the keyboard. I tried a couple of different things but nothing would dislodge the key, therefore I just ended up pressing the carriage return and interestingly enough, the software prompted me saying the password was too long and asked me to enter a new password. Curious… It seemed fine after that though. The keyboard stopped doing the whole ‘key-being-pressed’ thing. Security flaw?? All it said when the box popped up was, “<text error>” and 3 lines, the first prompting for new password, second for retype of the new password and third was for hint for the password.

So being me I got paranoid and called up Apple care. The guy on the phone gave me some combination to try but by then the problem wasn’t prevalent anymore therefore kind of pointless. But don’t you think that’s a security flaw? Looks like a big gaping hole to me…

Sorry for the no show today folks..my laptop crapped out on me yesterday displaying a blue error screen that wouldn’t go away. ( im convinced it was Adam’s leftover sheep porn)

No sweat though since the good folks at Computer Mania in Long Street sorted everything out and it seems to be back to normal. I wasn’t gonna make a big deal about it, but let me tell you the service was outstanding. Im not sure if everyone gets the same treatment, but i fully expected them to pull a we-are-the-experts-you-dont-know-sh*t card and then charge me for stuff i had no idea about.

Not the case at all. I walked in and a good chap called Luke helped me out. As Murphy’s Law would have it ..i told him the problem, he switched on my laptop and the blue error screen didn’t pop up. Of course.

No big deal he said. He called over another friendly chap who ran some checks, deleted some unneccessary stuff and recommended i change my antivirus software from the kak i had before and i didn’t once get the feeling they were screwing me. Luke was on hand again and helped me out with patience and epic customer service and everything seems sorted now.

Love your work chaps.

Much appreciated.

그 화면에 ati2dvag.dll 어쩌구 하는 오류 메시지로 봐서 그래픽 카드의 문제 같더군요. 윈도우 7은 Direct X 11 을 사용하는 것 같은데, 제 그래픽 카드가 Direct X 11 도 지원 안하고, 드라이버 설치도 불안정해서 결국, 다 밀어버렸습니다. 그리고 다시 윈도우 XP 로 돌아왔습니다. 에이, RAM도 1GB인 컴퓨터에는 그냥 윈도우 XP 가 가볍고 좋겠죠? 뭐… 이렇게 위안 중입니다;;

The ultimate error message in Windows XP is the blue screen. The blue screen contains many lines of text that means nothing to most users, except that they know that once they see it, there is nothing they can do except to restart the computer, and hope that it doesn’t happen again.

The thing is, once a blue screen shows up, it is almost a given that it will show up again in future, perhaps with an increasing frequency. When there is a blue screen, it means that Windows has just crashed and that something is quite wrong with it. Usually the root cause of most errors in Windows is the Windows registry.

The Windows registry is a system database of information. Windows and other software store a lot of settings and other information in it, and retrieve such information from the registry all the time. The registry is also a bottleneck in that because it is the heart of the operating system, any problems with it can cause errors and bring the operating system down.

Registry problems are common because many programs often leave obsolete or wrong data inside the registry. It bloats over time, and begins to degrade in performance and cause issues. It used to be that fixing registry problems were the domain of experts who could manually look through all the entries in this potentially huge registry as they hunt for errors. Nowadays, it’s thankfully much easier.

Registry cleaner software make this tedious and risky task much easier. Any mistakes when changing the registry can cause more damage to the operating system, so using a software tool to do this makes more sense. A registry cleaner who comprehensively go through every entry in the registry, look for problems and fix them. Good cleaners also offer backup and restore functions for more security. By using such a tool, it can resolve all the errors in the registry and prevent Windows errors like the blue screen from happening.

A bevy of retail opening announcements are coming in this weekend aren’t they? The newest one is a Best Buy in Union Square. What makes this one so special? It will be open 24 hours during the weekday. Saturdays and Sundays look pretty regular.

24 hours a day you say? YES. Good news and bad news. The good: you can splurge there and play Rockband or Guitar Hero all day all night until security kicks you out.

The bad news. No more excuses for students who procrastinated on their papers and run into trouble. That means you can go and buy ink and paper for your printer when you have a report due the next morning. Need to burn a CD for your project due? Best Buy has you covered. Have a PC and need to fix that stupid “blue screen of death“? Geek squad to the rescue.

It should be noted that the new Best Buy will be stomping all over Circuit City’s grave, because the retail space is the exact same location.

To celebrate the festivities, Bon Jovi will be performing live at the new store when it opens next Friday, November 13, one day before the new upper west side Apple store. So which one will you camp out for? Smells like a PC vs. Mac debacle to me!

Have you experience using a computer then suddenly a blue screen appears with various texts, including a sentence that says physical dumping of memory.. and such? This error only appears at computers running in a Windows environment. Tech people usually call this the “BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH” because when the error occurs, the display will turn blue, the PC will freeze and will require rebooting. Making you lose any unsaved work. Your PC could be suffering from RAM problems or registry errors.

Prescription:

- For the employees who are working in a company, call your IT support. They work great on these.

- Run a full scan to check for any conflicts in your PC. Corruption of your registry is a possible reason.

- Regular defragging and reformatting can also help in preventing this from occurring.

- You might want to try to use a tool called ‘registry cleaner’ to go through your system and fix all the problems that are in there.

- For individuals at home, before taking you computer to the computer technician, take note of the texts on the screen and browse the Net for other possible solutions.
