Here’s a test render for a small animation I’m working on…
Basically I’m still experimenting with the hair module in cinema 4D and working on creating the underwater environment. Still have to create the whole underwater elements (jellyfishes, fish, seaweed…)

But for now, this is preview I guess…

For my newest necklace featuring one of my altered dominoes, I decided to pink up a minor color in the image on my domino, the light (baby) blue. The mulberry paper background is a peachy pink and the image contains a few other shades of pink. I decided to pull it all together with some beaded charms featuring both the peachy pink and the reddish pink.

I had a variety of vintage light blue buttons that I truly loved. Some are glass. Some are plastic. Some of the buttons have additional colors. A couple of the buttons have little crystal rhinestone that tie in well with the rhinestone on the pendant. I layered a couple of buttons and a bead on a couple of the buttons to make them extra special. I did wire-wrap most of the buttons so that I could easily attach the buttons with a jump ring.

If you look closely you’ll notice that I have 6 reddish pink drops that I’m using as charms on this necklace. The drops came from a set of earrings I found at an estate sale. I love the verdigris patina on the beadcaps of these little charms.

I decided on a double chain as the foundation of the necklace. I had quite a bit of very fine gold chain. I thought the elements were to large and heavy for a single chain, so I connected them to two layers of chain.

I decided to string some of those wonderful light blue glass beads that I acquired at an estate sale. I thought this necklace should look nice from the front or back. This is definitely a necklace for a updo or a short haircut. The necklace fits close the neck and is pretty all the way around.

Yes, I admit, I totally use leftover icing. All the time. I’m heading out of town tomorrow for the holiday and wanted to use some of the icing I had left in the fridge. Well, it’s not like it’s going to go bad if it’s refridgerated, icing is just powdered sugar and butter (or earth balance), so it can last in the fridge as long as butter can (which, according to Cooks Illustrated, is a month in the refrigerator and four months in the freezer*). If this blue looks familiar, it’s the same blue from Sal and Levi’s “We Got Hitched” party. And, apparently, dubbed “Smurf Cupcakes” by my housemate Sara. These were just a quick batch of cupcakes for the house, and they won’t even last 24 hours.

So even though I’m heading off to the frozen tundra of Ohio and Ontario, I’m sure there will be plenty of baking and cooking in my near future. I know that on Wednesday I’ll be making carrot cake and pumpkin pie for my family’s Thanksgiving (yes, my sister hates pumpkin pie, so the carrot cake is for her), and I’ll be posting photos along the way. Smurfy!

*The same article says that legally, eggs can be up to 2 months old by the “sell by” date. Um. Really?

**PPS. Don’t forget – more photos on my Flickr page.

This whole project has turned out to be as much a test of my photography skills (almost nil, as you can see) as my ability to make jewelry. But…did manage to make jewelry, take pictures, possess the mini-USB cable and the computer, download the pictures, and create this post. GO ME!

So, here goes:

These earrings are made of really beautiful light green, circular swarovski crystal twist earrings. These earrings also use sterling silver spacer beads and silver twist beads. Additionally, these use lovely silver earring wires. These light green crystals capture light wonderfully.

These earrings are very simple but quite lovely in their simplicity. Approximately two inches long their length elongates the face and body of the wearer making them very flattering. They are made of silver seed beads and beautiful, lime green oval jade stones. They are hung on sterling silver earwires.

I love the funkiness (is that a word?) of these earrings. They have a luminous shell look but are circular and glass. The earrings incorporate sterling silver spacers and earwires.

This picture absolutely does not do these earrings justice. They are made with gorgeous bright blue swarovski crystals and lovely sterling silver spacers. They are wonderful!

This is a great little bracelet–it has really attractive symmetry. It’s made with light green pearls, silver spacers, and silver seed beads. They are fastened on stretch, elastic banding that makes is really easy and comfortable to wear.

As an aside, I used a bracelet just like this to try a really interesting practice that is designed to help enforce positive thinking. Every time you have a negative thought about yourself, someone else, or something, you simply switch the wrist the bracelet is on. This activity makes you acutely aware of your negative thoughts and helps you scale them back. You could focus only on negative thoughts about yourself (for exmaple: “I look so fat.”) or complaining thoughts. It’s an incredibly interesting and useful practice.

Ah, there are, in fact, more pictures but I’ll leave it here for now.

Casualty was just stuffed with familiar faces the other night. We had Antony Costa from Blue, who’d fallen in love with a prostitute played by Mika from Waterloo Road (Lauren Drummond),who was involved in a fire started by Curly’s wife from Corrie (Angela Lonsdale). She was in a bed next to Layla from Tracy Beaker (Cara Readle).

Anyway, enough about the patients because they’re completely disposable on Casualty – you know there’ll be another set next week. Only rarely does a patient make it past one episode, a notable recent exception being Ruth Winters’ brain patient Amir. This week it was Amir’s funeral, but as usual Ruth was trying to pretend she had no feelings, and it was business as usual. Only it wasn’t, because she had to work alongside the F2’s who had possibly been responsible for Amir’s death, and it made her even more spiky and unpleasant than usual. It also made her take her eye off the ball, so that if she hadn’t been bailed out by Nick Jordan, she could have caused serious harm to a patient.

The upshot to this is that her frosty boss has told her there’s not really a place in the brain surgery world for that kind of distractedness, and Ruth has had to go cap in hand to Adam to see if there are any jobs going in the ED.

Meanwhile the F2’s learned that Amir had died of a heart attack which they couldn’t have foreseen or prevented, so they’re off the hook.

Charlie brought his son Louis to work. Louis never appears without getting involved in some bother or other. In this case Charlie discovered him indulging in hanky-panky in the on-call room with a patient’s sister. Teenagers, eh? Though Charlie is also keeping an eye on Tess and the vicar, who are spending a lot of time together. She’s clearly spotted that he’s none other than Don Warrington from Rising Damp, and while he’s got a bit chubbier over the years, he still has that voice that could melt Miss Jones into a puddle of pure liquid hormones. Tess can’t hold out for long against that.
