Just another post to finish the night off, i’d send this from my phone again but it seems the email server is down for the night, oh well least the mobile internet isn’t!

ok so what have i done since my last post? test my blue screen tech with all the blue things i have in my house and concluded i need to buy a royal blue sheet style thing tomorrow after school, so i spent 2 hours researching all the fabric shops around my area, juding which one may be the cheapest option. i just hope i can get back from Harrogate in time before the shop shuts!

oh did i not mention i’m teaching in harrogate tomorrow? yeh another new school! gotta look good again so they’ll invite me back! as i said earlier about having no expectations or reservations about different schools. it’s all fun to me no matter where i am!

although i don’t know whats wrong with me at the moment, i wake up at 6am everyday yet for some reason don’t feel tired until the time comes round to 12ish at night! at first i thought it was the amount of coffee i was drinking yet i’ve cut down (alot) and it’s still made no difference! i’ve even stopped drinking it after 4pm!

enough about that now i think, i seem to have been talking to all sorts of people tonight on twitter! what a good night. thanks all! (@stuartm09, @nickie72, @caravanbutlins)

reading about the Global Warming Summit earlier the amount of private jets used flying all the delegates to the summit, the limosines used and cars and the heating on in the building etc. from what i’ve read and understand the carbon footprint of the summit is close to the same as running the town of middlesborough for 1 week!
Is it me or is this just entirely hypocritical? Okay, i know i’m probably a hypocrit as i’m not big on my recycling (well not as big as a should be). but surely there are other ways? as someone mentioned to me on twitter earlier (@nickie72) “HAVE THEY NEVER HEARD OF SKYPE?” i just thought this comment would go perfect! :p

Acum 2 minute am primit un bluescreen la Windows 7. Eu folosesc un Windows 7 Ultimate pe 32 de biti. Culmea e că au trecut ani de zile (pe bune) de când nu am mai primit un bluescreen într-un Windows, așa că mă miră faptul că am reușit în Windows 7.

Nimic deosebit, computerul mergea normal de vreo aproximativ 3 ore când “spoof față de câine”. O mică observație, dacă au reușit să facă un windows atât de reușit, nu puteau să facă și un bluescreen mai fain?

I HAVE A FRIEND THAT ONCE TOLD ME HERE IS A COMPUTER YOU TAKE IT AND THEIR IS NOT THING YOU CAN DO TO THIS COMPUTER THAT HE COULD NOT FIX. THE NEXT WEEK I CALLED HIM WITH THE ERROR AND SURE ENOUGH HE FIXED IT AND LET ME SAY I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH THIS TYPE OF TALENT.

Blue Screen of Death atau Blue screen saja yang berarti Layar Biru yang mematikan (kaya virus aja yaa…). Ya memang begitu kenyataannya, Mencari kesalahan ataupun kerusakan dengan error BSoD ini cukup menyusahkan, meskipun kita sudah dapat melacak kira-kira kesalahan/kerusakan yang menimbulkan BSoD ini lebih didominasi adanya kerusakan Hardware ataupun crash driver lama dan baru.

Nah untuk lebih jelasnya tentang BSoD dan cara mengatasinya berikut klasifikasi dan penyelesaiannya :

1. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (0X0000000A)
Error ini yang paling sering muncul pada saat terjadi Blue Screen.
Pesan kesalahan ini biasanya disebabkan kerena ada ketidakcocokan driver yang terinstall di komputer.
Penyebabnya:
- Driver yang bentrok atau tidak cocok
- Permasalahan pada Video Card, hal ini mencakup video card yang di
overclock melebihi batas atau Anda baru berganti Video card dan Anda
belum menguninstall driver Video card lama dari chipset berbeda
- Permasalahan pada Audio Card, meliputi kesalahan konfigurasi atau bug dalam driver sound card

2. NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM atau FAT_FILE_SYSTEM (0X00000024) atau (0X00000023)
Pesan error ini setidaknya sudah sedikit memberikan gambaran di mana
kerusakan berada, yaitu ada di partisi atau filesystemnya tetapi bukan
di harddisknya.
Kita bisa melakukan pengecekan dengan memeriksa kabel SATA atau PATA atau bisa mengecek partisi dengan tool chkdsk.

3. UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (0X0000007F)
Bila Anda mendapatkan pesan error seperti ini, dapat disebabkan karena:
- Overclock Hardware yang berlebihan
- Komponen komputer yang terlalu panas
- BIOS yang korup
- Memory dan CPU yang cacat

4. DATA_BUS_ERROR
Pesan error ini disebabkan karena adanya kemungkinan bahwa memory atau slot memory di motherboard rusak.

5. PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Pesan error ini disebabkan karena adanya kerusakan hardware, termasuk
memory utama, memory video card, atau memory di processor (L2 Cache)

6. INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
Pesan error ini disebabkan karena adanya kesalahan dalam konfigurasi
jumper harddisk yang salah, virus boot sector, driver IDE controller
yang salah, atau kesalahan driver chipset.

7. VIDEO_DRIVER_INIT_FAILURE
Pesan error ini disebabkan karena adanya Kesalahan terjadi pada
instalasi driver video card yang kurang sempurna, restart pada saat
instalasi atau juga dapat terjadi karena kesalahan dalam instalasi
driver.

8. BAD_POOL_CALLER
Pesan error ini disebabkan karena adanya Kesalahan ini dapat terjadi
karena kesalahan atau driver yang tidak kompatibel. Sering terjadi saat
melakukan instalasi XP dari upgrade, atau bukan dari instalasi baru.

9. PEN_LIST_CORRUPT
Pesan error ini disebabkan karena adanya kerusakan RAM

10. MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION
Pesan error ini disebabkan oleh cacatnya CPU, atau yang di overclock
secara agresif, serta power supply yang kekurangan daya atau rusak.

Aufgenommen im Sea-Tac Airport, dem Heimatflughafen von Microsoft. Die Fehlermeldung bezieht sich auf zu geringen virtuellen Speicher. ( via dvorak)

Ho giochicchiato con Windows 7 per un po’, ma proprio adesso è arrivato un vecchio amico degli utenti Windows: il Blue Screen Of Death.
E’ bello vedere che Microsoft non si è preoccupata di cambiare il blue screen di Windows. Anzi, è brutto. Non sarebbe il caso di crashare in un modo un po’ più aggraziato? O almeno in un modo che possa avere un senso per l’utente finale che se lo trova davanti? L’errore riguarda il driver che lo ha causato prima di provocare il riavvio automatico, ma riuscire a sapere che tipo di che tipo di componente si tratti (audio, video, USB) potrebbe essere utile alle persone per capire cosa hanno fatto per provocarlo, non credete?
Era una beta, Microsoft, ma è indubbio che avevate ancora tempo per rinnovare questo BSOD prima del lancio della versione finale. O dobbiamo aspettare Windows 8?

Well, on Saturday just gone my laptop decided to blue screen, restart and the refuse to boot. Some basic diagnostics revealed that the MBR had got screwed (somehow) but I really couldn’t be fussed with fixing THAT so I decided a nice clean rebuild was in order.

After about 6 hours of installing software and service packs (VS2005 SP1 take’s the piss to install…) it started blue screening every 10-15 minutes not good. So I started another rebuild…

All is good this time, so far…

I have recently formatted and installed Windows 7 RTM Ultimate without issue I just love the difference I feel with it between the old RC version smooth and quick. After I installed it and got critical programs setup I decided to check out software firewalls since I never liked using Windows Firewall, I decided to find something other than COMODO Firewall since clicking allow again and again and again AND AGAIN and with all the programs I had going it made using the computer a bit too annoying and slow. I’ve always loved COMODO Firewall for it’s leak proof tests but I needed something that was automatic and less in your face all the time. I did some researching and found Outpost Firewall the native x64 version support was a must have and it was supported for Windows 7 RC so why not give it a try?

I downloaded and installed it restarting after hoping the login/startup time would not increase by much and to my amazement I could not tell a difference if the startup time had changed +1 to Outpost! I then setup some settings and had it enabled on auto-learn for a week worked well and no need to create custom rules +1 to Outpost again!

I then tried to run a few multiplayer games such as Call of Duty 4 to see if PunkBuster needed to be manually allowed it got permitted via auto-learn and was working (another +1) well I then decided to minimize the game and return to the desktop by pressing ALT + TAB… The screen went black for a second or two… then… The old and typical Bluescreen Stop Error appeared, It actually scared me quite a bit as I looked coldly at the horrid blue and white text I just stared jaw dropping and said out loud “WHAT THE F#%K HAPPENED NOW!?!?!” I never had a Bluescreen for a long time since Windows 7 was so stable for me how on earth did this happen? Was their an issue with Call of Duty and the RTM?

A few more reboots later of me trying to recreate the problem it happened on every full screen application I used when I pressed ALT + TAB or WIN Key + TAB, It came to me Outpost had a thing were it would go to “Entertainment mode” when a full screen application was running I disabled it and tried to recreate the Bluescreen still happened… -1 to Outpost? I then exited Outpost with a little great feature of even disabling the service for Outpost so it would be completely off +1 to Outpost, attempted to recreate the issue and nothing happened it went back to the desktop fine. This seems like a major Windows 7 x64 bug.

I went to Outposts support site and entered my report of what happened since I was using the trial I was going to be a lower priority I thought no since I said major bug they would reply quite quick and what do you know 10 minutes later I get an email asking me for the version number as I had entered my LAN IP address without realizing. Message sent with corrected details and replied within 5 minutes WOW YOU GUYS ARE GOOD! they then asked me if I could recreate the problem and send them a minidump file one seemingly long Bluescreen later I sent it off. I must be getting used to getting Bluescreens now JUST LIKE WINDOWS XP before I moved to the Windows 7 Beta. I get a reply about 15 minutes later containing the workaround fix (quoted here so if you have the same issue you can fix it)

Please, try to rename the driver specified below temporarily in order to find possible reasons of the problem.
Use the following
instruction:
1. Load Windows in Safe mode.
2. Find the following file: sandbox64.sys (usually, it can be found in the following folder:
C:\Windows\system32\drivers\). If you are
using Windows Search, make sure you ticked option to search in hidden and system folder as well.
3. Rename it to sandbox64.sys.tmp
4. Reboot your computer in Normal mode, ignore “unable to load driver” error and check, whether this problem
would re-occur with modified
configuration.

After I did that and once again attempted to recreate the issue amazingly it worked NO BLUESCREEN! HOORAY! Pleased with the ease of instructions and speed of replies from Agnitum support I confirmed the issue was fixed and got a reply that the engineers are working on a fix in a future update and thanking them after.

I am now happily using this firewall as an alternative to COMODO and works effectively it even blocked a few port scan attacks too The speed is excellent, the automatic rules created gave no issue and less hassle, it was not in your face it just runs quietly in the background more like a set and forget program, the GUI was clean and slick and it even includes a spyware scanner if you installed that component too!

So ich hatte die tausenden Abstürze in den letzten Wochen von Vista so satt, dass ich jetzt Windows 7 installiert habe.

Es ist jetzt 22:13 und ich habe es geschafft alle Treiber die eigentlich für Vista sind zu installieren und GDATA 2010 aufzuspielen.

Das Vista davor hab ich mit “format c:” leider nicht löschen können.
Ich habe jedoch System32 gelöscht – das bekam Windows nicht so gut.

Mein jetziges System läuft (noch) recht stabil und ich hoffe dass es so bleibt

Hatte gerade den Auftrag, auf drei Schulungsnotis ein Windows XP in Englisch zu installieren. Eine Deutsche Version ist auf denen schon drauf und auch Acronis True Image Home 2009, da es sich bei den Notis um Schulungsnotis handelt, die von Zeit zu Zeit zurückgesichert werden.

Dann gab es mehrere Varianten die ich probiert habe.

1. Variante
Habe versucht einen ganz normalen, in Windows XP integrierten, dual Boot zu erstellen. Sprich: Neue Partition mit EASEUS Partition Master 4.0 erstellen – Rechner neu starten und Windows XP auf Englisch zusätzlich installieren.

Problem zu Variante 1: Nach dem ich nach dem Neustart bei “Drücken Sie eine beliebige Taste um von der CD zu starten” eine beliebige Taste gedrückt habe, startet er von der CD, man kommt in den Win XP Installationsmodus mit dem blauen Hintergrund, wo man unten sieht, dass er die Treiber gerade lädt. Kurz bevor er damit fertig ist, bekomme ich einen Bluescreen (***STOP: 0×0000007B (0xF78D2524,0xC0000034,0×00000000,0×00000000)). Da muss Acronis True Image einen Bootsector Eintrag gemacht haben, der eine OS Installation unmöglich macht.

2. Variante
Musste ja nicht unbedingt ein Dual-Boot sein, also wollte ich ein MUI (Multilingual User Interface) von Microsoft einspielen.

Problem zu Variante 2: Bei diesen MUI’s wird aber eine englische Installation des Betriebssystem vorausgesetzt – also funktioniert das auch nicht.

3. Variante
Deutsches WinXP mit englischem updaten zu versuchen.

Problem zu Variante 3: Problem gleich Variante 1.

4. Variante
Acronis deinstallieren und alle Festplatten bzw. Partitionen formatieren.

Problem zu Variante 4: Leichter geschrieben als getan … funktioniert auch nicht. Man bekommt immer noch den Bluescreen beim starten der Windows XP installation (***STOP: 0×0000007B (0xF78D2524,0xC0000034,0×00000000,0×00000000))

5. Variante (Finale)
Habe hier einen Tipp gefunden, dass ich im Bios die SATA Einstellungen von AHCI auf ATA (in meinem Fall IDE) umstellen und dann noch einmal probieren soll.

Und siehe da, es funktioniert auch endlich – kein Bluescreen mehr. Danke an die Jungs von Cybertechhelp!
Hätte nicht gedacht, dass das sooooooo viel Arbeit wird.

So being the diligent pc user I am I let windows update install a new network driver for my Belkin Wireless G adapter. big mistake – the update it found was for a different company and caused me no end of bluescreens and random network disconnects! Luckily a system restore and driver rollback seem to have solved the issue… *crosses fingers*

Anyway my attention has been brought to Rainmeter

I’m using it with this skin

seems quite fun and shall see how my pc copes!
