Finish up with Bobaflex management to get permission to use Pretty Razors for podcast and theme song. Do they have any covers recorded for the 80s covered in Metal episode? Need to get a copy of the most recent disc and any older stuff they’d be willing to send. Also, should get product to the band to wear in the studio as they’re recording now.

Not a Soloflex, a Bobaflex, or rather the Bobaflex, though the band’s show at The Outland Ballroom tonight should still be good for a helluva workout. The metal act–which, believe it or not, has been together more than 10 years–comes to town tonight with Adakain and a bevy of good local openers: All Kills Aside, Six Shots Till Dawn and Troy. The whole Ozarks Live Productions shebang starts tonight at 8 p.m., but if you’re feeling particularly adventurous we suggest ponying up an extra three bucks to get in the High Life Live Martini Lounge door, as well. Then you can barhop between the upstairs bedlam and the smooth downstairs grooves of Urban Legend, the High Life’s weekly gathering of live musicians who improv hip hop tracks with the help of DJ Platinum. Now you can dance or trash your Hump Day doldrums away. Is there a better workout than that?

Do to another situation, I was not able to see Neverset last Saturday. I was at The Tabernacle, though, and got to catch some of Sevendust’s set. The whole DVD release party started at 5PM and ended as early as 9:30. Anyways, Sevendust was great. I probably will never own a Sevendust album, but watching them live is something else. Lead singer Lajon Witherspoon looks like a possessed ape on stage, beating his chest and thrashing around. Oh, and the drummer, Morgan Rose, is a mad man. He has the mannerisms of Animal from the Muppets.

Next week, I will not miss the Streetlight Manifesto and Suburban Legends show at The Masquerade. Promise! That same night at the same place, Bobaflex is playing, but just like you must choose your battles, I must choose my shows.
