Mai departe constatam subtitlul pe care Constantin Stamati il da compozitiei, anume Fabula fabulelor vechi romanesti sau Rolando furios moldovenesc, unde Rolando inseamna pamant faimos. Iar ca totul sa fie si mai concludent, il citeaza pe La Fontaine ca motto:

“L’homme est de feu pour le mensonge
Et de glace pour la vérité”

traducere:

“Omul este de foc pentru minciuni

Si de gheata pentru adevar”

si veti vedea cum polarizeaza sfarsitul fabulei acompaniind aceste vorbe de inceput (daca veti citi fabula; sac!)

Eroul Ciubar-Voda este un basm in versuri, frumos si bogat in toate atributele unui basm, deci a unei traditii de inceput. Dar nu despre asta vrem sa concludem acum, ci despre un ultim fragment din opera pe care il reproducem mai jos intocmai cu ghilimelele de rigoare:

Inaintea acestei descrieri amanuntite a cazului Alba ca Zapada (al carui punct culminant este icoana marului) este evidentiata si tema oglinzii vorbitoare. Asemanarea dintre scrierea fratilor Grimm (din 1812 – in vremea cand Napoleon ataca Rusia, mergand spre caderea lui) si cea a lui Constantin Stamati (1786-1869) este irefutabila. Am fi tentati sa afirmam ca s-au inspirat unii din altii, insa, desi publicate cam in aceeasi perioada se observa ca Stamati este mult mai elocvent in povestea marului. De fapt, el nu e interesat de povestea marului in sine intitulata in germana Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge adica Alba ca Zapada si cei sapte pitici ci de intreaga unitate. Alba ca Zapada a fratilor Grimm este doar un fragment al unei povesti, un capitol. Daca veti avea curiozitatea sa traduceti mot-a-mot SCHNEEWITTCHEN si il veti diviza in SCHNEE care inseamna ZAPADA si WITTCHEN care este o forma a cuvantului briton VRAJITOARE sau sa-i spunem ZANA, veti privi povestea cu alti ochi si veti intelege si de ce “Omul este de gheata pentru adevar”.

Va amintiti, cu siguranta, de articolul intitulat Poiana Marului in care vorbeam despre ceea ce bazmul romanesc spune si cel german nu: marul cunoasterii care ucide aparent dar lasa vitriolumul sa reinvie fiinta. Invierea Cosanzenei se face astfel: “Şi făcându-i multe cruci/ Trupului ce zăcea mort,/ Porumbul se prefăcu/ Într-un abur luminos,/ Şi în trupul mort intrând,/ Fecioara s-au şi trezit/ Ca din somnul cel mai greu,/ Şi frecându-se la ochi,/ Au oftat, au strănutat“. Oftatul si stranutatul vorbesc despre respiratia adanca si despre resuscitare. Celor care fac infarct sau preinfarct (oprirea inimii) primul ajutor care li se recomanda este sa-si provoace tuse sau stranut pentru a da impulsuri inimii. Iata ce valoare are fabula fabulelor.

In Eroul Ciubar-Voda vrajitoarea din Alba ca Zapada este o tiganca iar Alba ca Zapada este Ileana Cosanzeana cea cu par de aur nascuta zana dintr-un MAR. Ciubar-Voda este la fel de anonim ca si Negru-Voda si ne punem intrebarea daca nu cumva este unul si acelasi. Fiul sau, Bogdan, pare a fi intemeietorul Moldovei ca stat, urmandu-i lui Dragos, descalecatorul. Bog = Dumnezeu, Dan = Judecata. Dragos vine din aceeasi radacina cu Dragon si Dragoste.

Planning my trip.  It’s about 4 1/2 hours away… but it will be worth it to spend the night in Chicago and see my husband a day earlier than originally planned.

So stay tuned!  I’m so eager to get back into “real” cooking again, for more than just me, within the next week.  I miss meal planning!

My favourite series of all time is Soprano’s it was superb but started slowly I always felt even watching it back, Tony in therapy after some ducks came and left was a strange start to a superb series, but slow nonetheless.

Bogdan – Caterpillar Brows

Breaking Bad doesn’t have this issue, the opening scene of the Pilot shows a beige pair of trousers flying through the sky, then pans to a Winnebago RV being driven by a semi naked middle aged man in a gas mask with what appears to be a dead or dying man next to him, fantastic, gripping and anyone who wasn’t hooked from this scene simply has no concept of high octane drama.The pilot sets the scene of the 1st Series in that Walter White (Richard Cranston) is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, a mild mannered, honest decent man working two jobs as a High School Teacher and a car wash receptionist who occasionally has to help out wipe cars down from his bizarre eye browed boss Bogdan.

Walter from here starts to plot a very different career in where he is going to cook Crystal Methamphetamine with a former High School pupil in order to leave enough money for his family when he inevitably dies from his cancer.

Going from mild mannered gentleman to cold blooded killer in the space of 1 short hour, Walters cooking skills attract a supplier to their mobile cook site where he poisons Krazy 8 and Jesse’s form partner Emilio, the latter dying in the RV while Krazy 8 is very much still alive.

I haven’t been posting a lot lately because I’ve been working madly at calorie counting and just not cooking and taking pictures nearly as much with my husband gone!  I’m still around, though, making a few great recipes here and there that I’ll eventually share.

It’s hard for me to find a “Saturday Upside” to share about my husband being away.  It’s easy for me to think of downsides about this, though, and I’ve had plenty of time to dwell on them.  Today, though, I’m going to share something positive about my husband being gone:

I get the opportunity to visit a friend of mine who lives in California. That’s a fun trip for a girl from Ohio to make, and I didn’t think I’d be doing it so soon after getting married.  So while I miss my husband a lot, I have other opportunities available.

I actually hope to be able to update my blog while I’m in California, because I believe we plan on making some good foods.

Another 3-d Creature from Saigo (Bogdan Gontar) over at Polycount. What was originally a woolly ice-age creature, Bogdan has turned into a sleek, almost aquatic killer. With a goofy smile. Thanks Bogdan!

I will not be cooking as much for a while, because my husband is on a tour out of the country with Hollywood Film orchestra.  I still enjoy cooking for myself and guests, but I don’t feel as much like taking pictures, and my leftovers last me a lot longer. I miss him a lot, but love our Skype dates!  We took this picture the day before he left.

Spoiler alert: many pictures in this phone were taken with a cell phone.  I know that a cell phone does not equal photography, but I still like using it.

I got some great samples of Twinings tea in my mailbox this week, and loved making some Chai while babysitting my nephew.

I have discovered that it’s not as much fun cleaning my kitchen from top to bottom when there is no husband to come home to it!  I have to brag about it to him over Skype.  It still gives me the little push I need to keep a clean home, though.

I got a chance today to try the recipe for Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes from one of my favorite blogs, Diva di Cucina.  I was, however, a little silly and -

A. Didn’t take a picture
B. Didn’t follow the recipe 100%.  I actually put mine in burrito shells instead of hoagie buns. (It was still delicious, though!  I definitely recommend the recipe!) I shared these with my younger sister and her boyfriend, and we affectionately named my version “Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joe Burritos,” which is actually a bit of a tongue twister.

This week I also tried my regular egg salad, but with pickles added.  I’d give it two thumbs up!

Cornmeal Pancakes

I also enjoyed making breakfast for supper with my younger sister!  It’s fun to cook with others, although she did comment “Your kitchen is really, really small.” Thanks, sis, I didn’t know that.

I tried putting frozen blueberries in that last pancake, but it was a few too many, I think.  Our cornmeal pancakes were fabulous, and I liked the Johnsonville Italian sausage patties I made (and cut in half) with this meal!  I had coupons for them a while back, and they work great for “breakfast” meals.  The syrup is homemade brown sugar syrup that I made from my family recipe (shared by my sister) because my maple syrup is almost gone.  This syrup recipe also comes highly recommended!

The reason cell phones don’t equal photography. Hello, blurry!

I visited a friend recently and went thrift store shopping!  I haven’t really done any clothes shopping in about 6 months, and it was fun to pick up these shirts!  The one underneath is pink and white striped, and I don’t think it really matches the plaid.  However, I like them both so much that I have to wear them together.

I learned something this week.

Dark coffee (as in strong coffee) is not the same as dark roasted coffee.

Did you know that?

It’s a good story.  I had some great coffee coupons and trying to be an awesome wife, I brought my husband home a few bags.  I thought that “dark Italian roast” sounded like just his thing!  Upon my arrival at home, I learned that dark roasted coffee is more bitter, and that you can still make strong coffee with a light roast.  No big deal, I thought, and today I went back to the store to exchange the coffee.

I took care of the whole exchange, feeling pretty proud of myself for getting it right the second time.  I even toted that coffee along with me to my eye appointment, since both were at Walmart.

However.

Home again I went.  Someone apparently put at least one bag of coffee on the wrong shelf, because somehow one of my bags sneakingly says “decaf,” even though it looks just like the other bag!

I decided I didn’t want to exchange any more, and my husband said we could keep that around in case any guests liked decaf.  Or, he said, if I ever wanted to drink coffee… because he thinks I’m hyper enough without caffeine.

So what is the upside of all this?

#1. I am thankful for returns, and that I at least was able to attempt to get the right coffee! (And did succeed for part of it.)

#2. I am glad that my husband is patient.
