Não se preocupem que não sou anti-vegano/vegetariano e nem tenho nenhuma ambição artística com essas tiras viu, pois tenho noção que não sou “artista” e nem tenho a habilidade necessária para fazer tiras legais como várias que eu leio por aí, só coloquei aí sabe-se lá por qual motivo… hehe

Giving back Akon, Ludacris,and Big Boi made turkey day better for some less fortunate families in the ATL. They handed out 2000 turkeys, greens, sweet potatoes and the fixings to help out this Thanksgiving. Feels good to see some of the artist we support givng back during these tough times.

A WINDSWEPT Susan Boyle breezed back into Scotland yesterday (Wed) after making a flying visit to America to launch her debut album.

And with her first disc ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ already going down a storm in the charts, SuBo said the outlook had never looked sunnier.

Sheltering from rain and gales with her trademark hair protected by a hood, she wandered around her locals shops almost unnoticed at first back in her West Lothian hometown of Blackburn.

Sporting a bright red scarf – complete with a badge of her pet cat Pebbles – she was eventually stopped by overjoyed friends and school children keen to welcome the star back home.

“Brilliant”

But she admitted her new jet-set lifestyle had left her a little bleary eyed.

Smiling Susan, 48, said: “I got back from America this morning and am a little jet lagged. New York was absolutely brilliant.”

Asked how promoting the new album was going, she grinned broadly, and said: “I hope everyone likes it.”

The Britain’s Got Talent performer protected herself from the elements with a light cream waterproof jacket.

But there was no hiding her new found celebrity when she was spotted by school kids eager to take her picture on their phones.

Breaking records

Despite looking tired, the star still took her time to talk to the kids, before walking home in the rain.

SuBo sold more than 130,000 copies of her album in the first day when it was released on Monday.

The Britain’s Got Talent Star is also widely rumoured to be outstripping the rest of the week’s top five albums combined.

If she sells more than 363,735 copies by Sunday – she will go down in history as having the fastest selling debut album in UK history.

The record was previously set by the Arctic Monkeys’ when they released ‘Whatever People Say I Am’ in January 2006.

SUSAN Boyle has dedicated her record-breaking debut album to her mum – saying she promised her she would “do something” with her life.

I Dreamed a Dream hit the shops today, but had already broken the sales record for pre-orders on website Amazon.

With bookies refusing to take bets on the CD reaching the top spot in the album charts this week, the debut was a success before it even hit the shelves.

And SuBo makes several references to her mum on the cover sleeve, dedicating her most famous song I Dreamed a Dream to Bridget Boyle, who died in 2007 aged 91.

“This is for you”

She writes: “It (I Dreamed a Dream) is about a mother living in hard times.

“Very similar to my dream on a more personal level of my ‘life gone by’ with mum who died at the age of 91 and who’s ‘dream’ it was that I should ‘do something’ with my life.

“Mum this is for you.”

And elsewhere in the sleeve notes there is a picture of Susan with Bridget, along with the dedication.

It reads: “I would like to dedicate this album to my beloved mother, to whom I made a promise to ‘be someone’.”

Diversity

The 48-year-old has said before that every song featured on the album means something to her, and the lyrics are accompanied by an explanation.

These comments provide an insight into the singer, who has struggled to cope with her meteoric rise to fame since she appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in April.

After losing the final of the talent show to dance troupe Diversity, the singer was checked into the Priory suffering from exhaustion.

But the note about the hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ suggests that she had now come to terms with her new-found fame.

It reads: “About finding your way. Everything was new to me. I was scared, hope its better.

“I know it can be with your continued support which I find both touching and humbling.”

And she goes on to promise more than just a one-hit wonder as she writes about ‘The End of the World’: “Don’t be silly! It’s only the beginning!

“I want you to enjoy some more!”

With millions of copies of the album already sold in pre-orders, and millions more expected to fly off the shelves this week, it is anticipated that the star will still be in the number one spot at Christmas.

Bookies William Hill have put her as favourite for the festive top spot as some bookies refuse to accept bets.

And Margaret Mitchell, 69, from Edinburgh was one of the first fans to grab herself a copy in Edinburgh today (Mon).

“Just brilliant”

Out Christmas shopping with a friend, she had made the music shop her first stop to buy the CD.

She said: “I saw her on Sunday night on the X Factor and she was just brilliant.

“I’m a big fan and have been following her since she was on Britain’s Got Talent.

“She’s just so unusual and not what we were expecting. She’s just so good. I’m looking forward to hearing the album.”

Music store HMV have braced themselves for the rush to grab the singer’s album this week, expecting more than 300,000 copies to fly off the shelves.

“Biggest release of the year”

A spokeman for the company said: “Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed A Dream is set to become the biggest week-one album release of the year.

“Our online store, hmv.com, has received one of its largest-ever customer pre-orders for any album, whilst our high street stores around the country have been receiving numerous enquiries from fans for weeks now, especially those in her native Scotland.

“Based on this huge level of expected demand, which can only be boosted by SuBo’s much-anticipated X-Factor appearance this weekend, HMV predicts that the début album from the Britain’s Got Talent finalist will shift more than 300,000 copies in just six days – making it the biggest and fastest-selling week-one release of 2009.”

Most Trusted Brands: India 2007

Economic Times’ Brand Equity has published the list of India’s Most Trusted Brands Survey findings today.
The top ten brands are

1. Nokia
2. Colgate
3. Tata Salt
4. Pepsodent
5. Ponds
6. Lux
7. Britannia
8. Dettol
9. Lifebuoy
10. Vicks

This year, Nokia displaced Colgate to gain the top slot. Nokia is riding on the explosive telecom growth that India is now witnessing. The focus on quality and features has made Nokia a brand that Indian consumers love. The brand was able to bring in successful models regularly. Currently the N series has been the poster boy in its portfolio. Along with the models, the brand also has been investing in building the brand equity. The result of the survey also throws an interesting lesson. Recently Nokia faced the issue of ” overheating of battery”. Around 46 mn BL-5C series batteries was recalled by Nokia worldwide . Marketers feared that this recall will have a negative impact on Nokia’s brand equity. But this survey proved that Indian consumers have been impressed by the commitment of Nokia in the Indian market.

The current results has been a disappointment for Colgate which topped the list for the past 4 years. But I feel that the brand lost the position not because of any loss of trust but because the mobile telecom category have seen a huge growth and was the top- of -the- mind category for consumers. Colgate still leads the toothpaste category but will have a reason to worry because Pepsodent has moved to the No.4 slot from the No.8 slot.

Para muitos ela é veneno! Dizem que esta fruta era e continua sendo responsável por matar o gado, principalmente no cerrado. Devido a esta má informação lendária, os donos de terra têm sacrificado os pés da lobeira, provocando a sua extinção num período breve, caso nada for feito em benefício de sua preservação. Chamada também de maçã do cerrado – devido ao cheiro parecido com o da maçã – conhecida também como: jurubebão, berinjela do campo, etc… Veja a explicação do fato d’ela ser uma fruta assassina: devido ao sabor “cheiroso” dela madura, o gado pula cerca, atravessa riachos, valas e quintais em busca desta fruta. Ele come até o caroço, ou melhor, a tampa, que provoca a sua morte (foto). Essa tampa aloja-se na boca de seu estômago, o fechando. Nada mais entra.O gado rumina até mufinar e acaba morrendo.

Então, a ciência de outrora, que estava longe do campo, e o povo, sem saber identificar a causa mortis, lhe atribuiu o fatídico da causa: o veneno!!! Se não fosse essa fatalidade, ela bem poderia chamar-se fruta do boi ou fruta da vaca, como o lobo emprestou seu nome a ela.

Desde criança ouvia as correições quando brincávamos de fazer dela uma bola: “olha, isso é veneno, esse ‘pozinho’ que ela solta também pode cegar”. Coitada! Segundo um texto de Paulo Capobianco, essa fruta será muito promissora, neste século, principalmente nas áreas de antibióticos, anticoncepcionais e antiinflamatórios.
Os trabalhos estão sendo desenvolvidos no Laboratório de Pesquisas e Ensino em Síntese Orgânica da Universidade de Brasília,onde já descobriram fartos indícios da produção de esteróides, matéria-prima de diversos medicamentos, que a lobeira oferece.

De acordo, as explicações de divulgador desta planta ela é da família das solanáceas, assim como o tomate, o jiló, a jurubeba. Descobriu-se também, segundo ele, a presença de solasodina na lobeira, elemento básico para a produção de esteróides. Com essa descoberta, a fruta do lobo poderá ser uma grande aliada para o barateamento de muitos medicamentos. Veja, de acordo com a explicação de Capobianco: “cerca de 20 ml medicamentos à venda no Brasil são produzidos a partir de apenas 300 princípios ativos, sendo 10 esteróides que estão entre os insumos mais caros da indústria farmacêutica.

De vilã ela passou a “excelência” do cerrado: as farmácias homeopáticas vendem seu pó, amido ou polvilho em cápsulas para emagrecer, baixar o diabetes, falam até em aliviar dores estomacais, como gastrite..
Sua flor (foto) é usada chá para baixar febre, fazer xarope para fortalecer o pulmão, nos florais  é muito usada…

Agora a fruta do lobo reina nos campos do cerrado brasileiro, apesar ainda da resistência e ignorância. Os mais sábios estão começando a fazer a festa.

Minha mãe cortava os pedaços, dava ao gado, sem a tampa, é lógico! Ralava para as galinhas, misturando em farelos, as que apodreciam no chão criavam alguns bichinhos, parecidos com joaninhas, que as galinhas e alguns pássaros deliciavam. O coelho adora sua polpa. Quando passei uns tempos com os índios (veja + em CULTURA BRASILEIRA) eles comiam ela “divez” passada a madura como a gente come uma maçã, faziam refogado. Bom, depois desta convivência com a fruta do lobo, eu também tenho minhas experiências para contar. Tenho uma pequena plantação no terreno da Pousada das Cores, para uso próprio: fazemos doces (aprendi com minha mãe), inventamos bombons (veja RECEITAS) farelo para bolos, vitaminas, pães, etc…, colocamos na farinha enriquecida com casca de ovo, folhas de mandioca, chuchu, batata-doce…

Curiosidade: segundo uma lenda, quem quiser saber a inicial do seu futuro amor, é só cortar ao meio e de relance vai ver a primeira letra do pretendente. Contei esta história para uma ex-freira e ela ao fazê-lo viu o nome de seu namorado de infância, antes do seu convento. Passado alguns anos eles se casaram. Verdade!… Dizem que toda lenda tem um fundo de verdade.

Todos que me conhecem sabem bem que cozinhar não é o meu forte. Adoro uma boa mesa rodeada de amigos e uma bebidinha. Pois bem, resolvi que é preciso aprimorar as habilidades para receber em minha casa, ou melhor, na nossa casa: né Silvinha! Criei o Programa Ensine Paulinha a Cozinhar – sim, é um programa pois trata-se de algo a longo prazo.
Meus primeiros professores se garantiram na cozinha – Vans e Edu mandaram muito bem. Mas vamos ao que interessa, vou compartilhar a receita e dentro em breve comentarei se aprendi ou não.

As batatas:
Parta as batatas em rodelas bem grandes e cozinhe na água e sal (cuidado para não ficar molenga). Depois de cozinhadas, frite-as no azeite virando o lado até ficar dourada. Quando as outras coisas estiverem quase boas, coloque as batatas no forno com queijo parmesão do bom.

Risoto:
Lava os aspargos e tira o talinho branco. Cozinha no vapor até ficar ao dente. Depois corta em cilindro e reserva.
Doura cebola no azeite, acrescenta o arroz arbório (uma xícara para duas pessoas) e coloca um copo de vinho branco seco. O caldo foi feito com Sazon do vermelho, mas pode ser outro ou quem tiver tempo e for prendado (não é o meu caso) pode fazer um caldo de legumes. Vai colocando o caldo aos poucos e mexe. Quando tiver quase bom o ponto do arroz, coloca os aspargos e quando tiver bom insere o queijo brie.

A carne:
Corta o fillet ao tornedor (2 dedos), tempera com sal e pimenta do reino. Esquenta o azeite numa frigideira e quando tiver muito quente joga muito alho cortadinho. Tira o alho quando tiver dourado e frita o fillet no azeite do alho.

Na hora de servir, optamos por fazer pratos individuais – uma porção de carne com muito alho em cima, risoto e batata.

Ca in fiecare zi care nu e de weekend, am pornit spre servici. Am plecat putin mai devreme de acasa in speranta ca voi ajunge mai devreme la servici.
