Whenever I interview a musician, I can hardly wait to get to my favorite part of the interview is asking an artist about the inspiration behind his or her songs. The inspiration for songs is as imaginative as can be—some stories are silly, some are lovely, others aren’t all that special—but they’re all interesting. This is why I love the latest Chicken Soup for the Soul Book: The Story Behind the Song.

I know, I know. I usually stay away from sloppy, emotional stuff, and Chicken Soup books can definitely fit that category, but this book is different. It offers a look into the minds of contemporary artists from a variety of genres, such as Jewel, Christina Aguilera, Kanye West, John Legend, Rick Springfield, Iggy Pop, Tom Higgenson of Plain White T’s, Ann Wilson of Heart, and many, many more!

For example, did you know that “Jessie’s Girl” was written about a cute girl in Rick Springfield’s stained glass class, the guy’s name wasn’t actually Jessie, and that it was the catalyst for his career? How about the fact there’s a real Delilah who inspired “Hey Delilah” by the Plain White T’s, but Tom Higgenson never actually dated her? I have learned all sorts of interesting facts about some of my favorite songs—“Livin’ On a Prayer” by Bon Jovi, “Operator” by Jim Croce (yes, I’m a dork!), “At Seventeen” by Janis Ian, “Bad Reputation” by Joan Jett, and “Right Here Waiting” by Richard Marx. And I finally know what “Sister Christian” (Night Ranger) is all about! That in and of itself is worth the price of the book.

The fine folks at Plan A Media and Soul Publishing have given Backseat Writer a FREE COPY to give away to one lucky reader! To win this amazing book, all you have to do is head to Twitter, tweet this comment, “I want to win STORY BEHIND THE SONG from @backseatwriter, how ‘bout you? http://bit.ly/W5mfk” and you’ll be entered to win. Winner will be notified via Twitter, so make sure you’re following Backseat Writer (@backseatwriter) on Twitter. The contest ends December 1 at 5 PM EST.

Also, on December 1, Backseat Writer will be posting an excerpt from Chicken Soup: The Story Behind the Song–how Jewel came to write the song “Hands.” You will definitely want to read that!

*In the interest of full disclosure, I want you, dear reader, to know that Plan A Media did provide me a review copy of this book. There, now the FTC should be happy!*

Huomenta!

Keskiviikkoisilla sitseillä Ilkka Kärrylä & The Downtown Fiven vetämä setti jäi varmasti mietityttämään useita. Ollaan aika hipstereitä ja koska humalatilassani en muistanut spiikata näitä suurella yleiselle kenties tuntemattomia underground-tekeleitä, niin ollaan mielestäni lukijoillemme velkaa vähintään tämä MERISITSIEN SETTILISTA – s’il vous plait (ranskaa).

1. Lady Gaga – Poker Face

Hulvaton P-p-p-pokerinaama-sovituksemme epävireisellä mandoliinilla, solisti-Ilkan perkussioilla, leden taustastemmoilla (NAILED IT!) ja MELODICALLA (mitä vittuu?!) sekä virtuoosimaisella kuoropojan äänelläni kuorrutettuna pisti bileet käyntiin.

Laulu kertoo tulkintani mukaan naisesta, jolla on vakava peliongelma.

“Russian roulette is not the same without a gun, and baby when it’s love if it’s not rought, it isn’t fun.”

Öö, okei.. hullu.

2. Bon Jovi – Livin’ On A Prayer

80-luvulla breikannut Jon “Bon Jovi” Bongiovi on kasari-indietähtien aatelia.

Gina dreams of running away
When she cries in the night
Tommy whispers: Baby it’s okay, someday

3. Scorpions – Wind Of Change

Stupidosta!

4. Eagle Eye Cherry – Save Tonight

Merisen settimme päätti yleisön jopa AGGRESSIIVISESTI vaatima encore, singer-songwriter KOTKASILMÄ KIRSIKAN “Save Tonight” -hitti, jonka musavideo jaksaa hämmentää! Myös tässä kappaleessa nainen itkee. Mikä märinäfantasia näillä biisintekijöillä on?! Biisi kertoo hetkeen tarttumisesta, muijien juottamisesta känniin sekä sääliheruttamisesta.

Itse poistuin sitseiltä tunteja ennen pilkkua. Fight the break of dawn, my ass.

Olen aika varma, että Eagle Eye on kuollut heroiinin yliannostukseen.

***

Kotkista Antsa tulee paikalle, Lede lähtee Keski-Suomeen MUMMOLAAN. Watch out, Jyväskylän bithces!

KEEP YOUR EAGLE ON AND SPREAD THOSE WINGS!

After prolifically touring and recording during the late 1980s, the band went on hiatus following the New Jersey Tour in 1990, during which time Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora both released successful solo albums. In 1992 the band returned with the album Keep the Faith and have since created successful albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s. Their 2000 single “It’s My Life”, which followed a second hiatus, successfully introduced the band to a younger audience. Their latest album The Circle was released on 10 November 2009 in the United States.

Buy discount Bon Jovi concert tickets

In April 2009, Phil Griffin’s documentary on the band, “When We Were Beautiful,” debuted at the Tribeca film festival, chronicling Bon Jovi’s ups and downs over 25 years and following the band on their latest Lost Highway tour. In June 2009, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora were inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame. With the assistance of producer and writer John Shanks, the band began writing and recording new material soon after the end of the highly successful Lost Highway tour. The song talks of tough economic times and will be used on the upcoming game Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers for the Wii, a first in the series that has been known for only using J-pop previously, it’s unknown if it’ll only be used on the promotional campaigns or if it plays somewhere during the game. The album title, as confirmed by long time friend and mixer Obie O’Brien, is to be named The Circle.

This tour, being shorter than previous ones with only seventy-five shows originally planned, took the band to numerous stages and stadiums throughout the world. The tour was a significant commercial success, as the group played to 2,002,000 fans, and the tour grossed a total $191 million. The tour was the third-highest-grossing tour of 2006 taking in just over $131 million, just behind The Rolling Stones’ A Bigger Bang World Tour and Madonna’s Confessions Tour. On November 14, 2006, Bon Jovi were inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame alongside James Brown and Led Zeppelin.

That summer the band played to more than one million fans in less than 30 shows. Upon their return to the U.S. the band did a sold-out arena tour in the Fall of 2000, followed in the Spring of 2001 with a sold-out arena-amphitheatre run of dates in America. They revisited stadiums in Japan and Europe before one more lap of shed dates in America. Bon Jovi sold out two homecoming concerts at New Jersey’s Giants Stadium. Concerts were not only fulfilling career and personal highlights for the band but the broadcast broke ratings records for the VH-1 network.

Keep The Faith spun six hit singles internationally and sold over nine million copies world wide. As Bon Jovi’s sound morphed itself to work in the 90s music scene, their image changed, as well. When Jon Bon Jovi cut his hair he made headlines on CNN. To mark the beginning of the band’s next phase Bon Jovi embarked on an extensive international tour, visiting countries the band had never seen before and headlining stadiums in America, Europe, Asia and Australia. They visited 38 countries and performed 177 shows on the Keep The Faith tour.

In 1987, Slippery When Wet was named the top selling album of the year by Billboard and “Livin’ On A Prayer” won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Stage Performance.

At the age of sixteen Bon Jovi met David Bryan (b. They played New Jersey clubs even though they were minors. Still in his teens, Bon Jovi played in the band John Bongiovi and the Wild Ones, playing local clubs like ‘The Fast Lane’ and opening for known acts in the area.

Gonna be honest. I fucking hate Pitchfork Media with a bloody passion. Aside from getting music news

Gonna be honest. I fucking hate Pitchfork Media with a bloody passion. Aside from getting music news (which actually starts to suck ass at a certain point too), all we get are underwhelming and stupid album reviews and lists that have no significance. I mean really, those pricks are ready to blow all of those dudes in the Fiery Furnaces anytime, anywhere. Fuck that. So, I made my own list for what was good in 2009. Yeah, I realize the year is not over just yet, so if anything good comes up, I’ll slap it up here. So without further delay, the best and worst of 2009 according to me.

The Best

Daisy – Brand New
With in a few minutes of listening to this album, I already decided that it was great. The bass on the opening track is fucking raw and the guitar is crunchy as fuck. Great record. Like it a lot better than the other one.

Horehound – The Dead Weather
Never was a huge fan of the Kills, but this record shows how Jack White can take a walking disaster like Allison Mosshart and turn it into gold. The White Stripes evil twin indeed.

The Open Door EP – Death Cab For Cutie
Yes, I like Death Cab. Blow me. Ben Gibbard is fucking genius at times.

The West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum – Kasabian
Just a badass album all around. Tough lyrics and interesting guitar hooks. Plus, these dudes are good friends with Noel Gallagher of Oasis. That adds to their already outstanding credibility.

Jesus Says Relax – The Tits
Got this CD for free at Grimey’s earlier this year. Thought it was going to be a bit of a joke. Decided to give it a spin, and it was fucking awesome. Totally had what the Nashville music scene was missing: balls. Big ones at that. It’s a shame that they broke up. At least we’ve still got Bad Cop.

Them Crooked Vultures – Them Crooked Vultures
Josh Homme + Dave Grohl + John Paul Jones. All three have come from great bands and all three show that while they can hold their own, they can come together on a project and make a record that will totally blow everyone away.

Cage the Elephant – Cage the Elephant
Ignoring how overplayed “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” is, this album is still fucking stellar. Lead singer looks like he’s already done too many drugs, yet the band is just getting their feet of the ground. They’ve got my vote already.

It’s Blitz – Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Karen O is fucking crazy. And I love it. Missed out on this band at Lollapalooza to see Tool. Heard this record after and got pissed. Not that they should have replaced Tool, but that Perry Farrell should have retired Jane’s Addiction or better yet, not bring the cocksucking Killers to the festival and put the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s on for Sunday so I could have seen them. Oh well. Anyways, killer record.

Rain Machine – Rain Machine
First time I heard this record, I fucking hated it. I thought that Kyp should have stayed in TV on the Radio. When I gave it a second listen, after knowing what I was listening to, I liked it. A lot. Word of advice. Kyp has something that many artists don’t have today. That’s called balls. He could have made a record that sounds identical to the stuff he has done with TotR, but instead of being a pussy, he decided to piss people who wanted predictable shit and made a record he wanted to make. And it’s good if you realize it’s not TotR. Fuck it, it’s a good record all around.

Immolate Yourself – Telefon Tel Aviv
Released just two days before the death of Charles Cooper, this album showcases how fucking cool the group was and how awesome it could have been if Cooper hadn’t died. Depressing that he’s dead? Yes. But damn did he go out with one hell of a trippy album.

The Dreams We Have As Children – Noel Gallagher
Okay, so this is not really a new album or anything, but rather a live recording of Noel Gallagher doing a solo show. Let’s just consider this like a lifetime achievement award, considering that Oasis is done, and that now Noel is going to be cranking out some awesome solo albums. Gonna be fucking great.

The Worst

Relapse – Eminem
Apparently, this album is what Eminem sounds like after he got over hard drugs. However, he probably should have stayed on them, cause this album blows, hardcore.

The Resistance – Muse
“Love is our resistance.” Really? C’mon Matt Bellamy. Black Holes and Revolutions was great. You went from sounding like an awesome heavy Radiohead rip off, to a horribly bad Queen rip off. Then again, neither Thom Yorke or Freddie Mercury took huge exaggerated breaths after each single lyric sung either nor have either made an album this retarded.

The High End of Low – Marilyn Manson
Listened to the first track of this crappy album because I heard that Manson had finally got Twiggy back (who wrote the decent songs on a couple records). Big mistake. No one can save this train wreck of Oxycontin and pretentiousness. This dude needs to just OD already and get it over with.

Ratitude – Weezer
Quote of the year: “I’m not Prince or Rivers Cuomo who brags about having hundreds of great songs,” Reznor said. “And to that I would say, Prince, if you have a hundred great songs or a thousand, how about picking a few and putting them on your record that you’ve put out because your last several have sucked. Same for you, Rivers. I say that constructively, you know.” – Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails

Full Circle – Creed
It seems like 2009 was a year for shit bands to get back together and record albums. I’m gonna be honest and say that I’m surprised that I’m not hugely depressed right now, considering that Limp Bizkit and Creed have gotten back together in the same year. Don’t know what keeps me going, but if Fallout Boy decides to get back together, I’m heading for the tallest building and taking the easy way out. Too much shit in one year.

Out of Ashes – Dead Sunrise
That whiny singer from Linkin Park made another band. That’s like a rapist going back for seconds. Let’s stop this fucker before it’s too late.

The Circle – Bon Jovi
A washed up wannabe-rocker who’s only fan base exists with alcoholic 50 year old bored housewives.

Aim and Ignite – Fun.
Shit, and I thought Panic at The Disco was bad. I found out about this shitty band from some idiot on Facebook’s constant ranting about it (to be more specfic, a former roommate). After giving it a listen, I checked my ears, and sure enough, yep, there was blood. Moral of the story? You probably shouldn’t check out music if someone post it on facebook as “Fun. is SOOOOOO gooood”. Especially when you know that kid is a complete tool.

more to be added later.

This past weekend was not as welcoming to the home team this past weekend. Aside from UNC, the teams that struggled were the ones who reside at or near the bottom of the ACC standings. Guess Thomas Wolfe was right about his assertion of home not being so sweet after all.

So, how well did I do? Let’s just say I sort of paid attention to the soothsayers on this one. As for a theme, I decided to go with Bon Jovi’s “Have A Nice Day“.

Lezers, afgelopen woensdag mochten wij een tamelijk ongebruikelijk compliment in ontvangst nemen. Wi

Lezers,

Zij woonde toen in Groningen. Wij in Leiden.

Welnu, daar komen wij in beeld.

One goes out to man who waits for miracles
This one goes out to the ones in need
This one goes out to the sinner and the cynical
This ain’t about no apology

This one was paved by the hopeless and the hungry
This one was paved by the winds of change
Walking beside the guily and the innocent
How will you raise your hand when they call your name

Yeah, yeah, yeah

We weren’t born to follow
Come on and get up off your knees
When life is a bitter pill to swallow
You gotta hold on to what you believe
Believe that the sun will shine tomorrow
Even saints and sinners bleed?
We weren’t born to follow
You gotta stand up for what you believe
Let me here you say yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah

This one’s about anyone who does it differently
This is about the one who curses and spits
This ain’t about livin in a fantasy
This ain’t about givin up or giving in

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

We weren’t born to follow
Come on and get up off your knees
When life is a bitter pill to swallow
You gotta hold on to what you believe
Believe that the sun will shine tomorrow
Even saints and sinners bleed?
We weren’t born to follow
You gotta stand up for what you believe
Let me hear you say yeah, yeah, yeah, oh Yeah
Let me hear you say yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah

Hey guys!

Firstly, some housekeeping…

The iTunes issue has been resolved – so pop over to the iTunes Store and pick up the Secrecy & Sex EP!

New Band Downstairs is up too! See us listen (and react!) to our session for The Paul McLoone Show on Today FM – and Chris & Niall discuss guitars (amongst other things..!).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYn4DQQ95g8

In addition you can catch an exclusive performance of Advertising Heroin for the very good people at Tuntribe in London (http://www.tunetribe.com) – interview on the way too, so be sure to check back!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPDd8gOy_6g

Meanwhile over at Indie Bands Blog, we are the Buzz Aldrin to (good friends and label mates) Mono Stereo’s Neil Armstrong!

http://www.indiebandsblog.com/european-bands/swedish-bands/band-of-the-week-14th-november-2009

Now…

Wanna here about London…..??!!

I’m writing a little late after the fact, as I took a little longer than the boys to get back to Dublin (Alice In Chains. Kentish Town Forum. ‘Nuff said.).

We touched ground in Gatwick on Thursday morning in jovial mood. The fruition of the last couple of month’s hard work was merely a couple of hours away.

With the Secrecy & Sex EP cast out into the ether, we had the small matter of a hat trick of shows in London town.

First up, Peter Parker’s Rock & Roll Club for an intimate little gig in the company of friends, fans and various interested industry parties. Muchas Kudos to Dimitri our sound engineer. A true professional who wrangled the best sound we could have ever wished for from a PA system that, in all honesty, seemed like an afterthought.

First night jitters were unarticulated – but I definitely had a butterfly or two rattling around in me.

This wasn’t aided by a last minute substitution of my rig’s (ahem) “compromised” amplifier.

These thing are sent to try us….

With adrenelin pumping, we kicked the gig out of the park. The current set feels unbelievably strong at the moment.

After much back patting, we began our cross town commute to dump our bags / guitars at my girlfriend’s place and leg it over to Proud Galleries in Camden to catch the tail end of Mono Stereo’s set.

We succeeded in one of those endevours (sorry Monos..!!).

Friday began with us having a couple of meetings during the day, and our little sit down with Tunetribe. All lovely and lovable people.

Then onto our show at The Fly on New Oxford Street…

Unfortunately this cool, little venue is facing the chop.

Something to do with trains and the 2012 Olympics.

I wasn’t really paying attention, to be honest.

The set was great and, strangely enough, Niall breaking a string second song in was the best thing that could have happened.

The line up was fairly tight, so we couldn’t afford to take time out to re-string Niall’s white Mexican Strat.

So we appealed to our fellow musicians for a dig out.

“Anyone got a spare guitar…?”

“Yeah, sure, mate.”

Cue a quick rummage in a gig bag to produce….

A white Mexican Strat.

Fucking hilarious.

The night got better, as the owner of this doppelganger was part of what became Our New Favourite Band.

The Meat Eating Orchids (http://www.myspace.com/themeateatingorchids)

The most fun I’ve seen on stage in years.

Don’t drink your lava lamp.

Sound advice.

Cheers boys. You are kings among (topless) men.

Post gig we boogied on over to meet our Mono Stereo pals who had invited us to a birthday party across town.

It was an amazingly funky apartment and everyone made us feel very welcome – they even stroked our egos enough for us to perform an impromtu acousitc set.

Great night of unexpected highlights. Roll on Saturday.

Saturday.

Ireland V France.

Future London Underground (FLU) night at Tommy Flynn’s.

Ridiculously extended post gig party.

You already know what Saturday is.

You know what happened at the match.

You may not have been at the gig, but all that needs to be said is that it was (for the four of us, at the very least) our best ever (seems to be habit forming at Tommy Flynn’s).

The post gig party is indiscribable and, to be honest, a little patchy memory wise…

All that remains is to thank all of those who went above the call of duty over the weekend.

Naomi (who’s getting metioned more than the band in this blog it seems) for duvets, blankets, party space and all round cheerleader coralling.

Tom for similar bed providing skills, uncompromising political (and Juliet..!) debate and keeping the Trad flame alive.

Ben Carrigan for cymbals and perfect timimg that only a drummer of his great skill can provide.

Dimitri for engineering services described above…!

Guy for his impromtu roadie services.

Sam from The Meat Eating Orchids for exactly-the-same-guitar belly laugh.

Mono Stereo for being the hosts with most-ness.

Dan Fatel (FLU) for an amazing night at Flynn’s.

Dan, Adam, Mark for all the help with the last minute Fly gig.

Gillian Baxter for the bullshit extraction.

James Batsford for the cross into the box on Thursday night.

Danny (#2) Payne for all round geezer-ness and PR mastery.

Danny (#1) Sperling our manager, who’s contribution is so endless, legion, universal and all encompassing that this is, ironically, the only sentence he’s getting.

And finally, Bon Jovi for waking up Shavoune Mills.

Disko.

X

A decent tune. Not usually what I listen to but still worth checking out.

Meaningful lyrics that Id like to share:

This one goes out to the man who mines for miracles
This one goes out to the ones in need
This one goes out to the sinner and the cynical
This aint about no apology

This road was paved by the hopeless and the hungry
This road was paved by the winds of change
Walking beside the guilty and the innocent
How will you raise your hand when they call your name

Yeah, yeah, yeah

We weren’t born to follow
Come on and get up off your knees
When life is a bitter pill to swallow
You gotta hold on to what you believe
Believe that the sun will shine tomorrow
Even that your saints and sinners bleed
We weren’t born to follow
You gotta stand up for what you believe
Let me here you say yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah

This one’s about anyone who does it differently
This one’s about the one who curses and spits
This ain’t about our livin’ in a fantasy
This ain’t about givin’ up or givin’ in

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

We weren’t born to follow
Come on and get up off your knees
When life is a bitter pill to swallow
You gotta hold on to what you believe
Believe that the sun will shine tomorrow
Even that your saints and sinners bleed
We weren’t born to follow
You gotta stand up for what you believe
Let me hear you say yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah
Let me hear you say yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah
Guitar!

We weren’t born to follow
Come on and get up off your knees
When life is a bitter pill to swallow
You gotta hold on to what you believe
Believe that the sun will shine tomorrow
Even that your saints and sinners bleed
We weren’t born to follow

This past weekend I got a unique opportunity to spend time with some new friends and their band, Blaze of Glory, and just tag along all day with them doing ‘whatever’. It was pretty cool to get some insight into what the average rock band does on their day off.

Blaze of Glory is a kick ass Bon Jovi tribute band from Vancouver comprised of Ted Moore on vocals, Randy Robertson guitars, Doug Grant drums, Mike Champigny bass, and James Meyer on keyboards, and all band members are stellar musicians from various Vancouver recording acts including Nick Gilder, Doug and The Slugs, Krome, and The Devin Townsend Project.

Arriving in Kamloops around lunch time, my phone rang and it was Ted inviting me to come have lunch with the band at the club they were playing that night, On the Rocks. Standing in the parking lot of the local Starbucks, I did a 180, looked across the highway, and had to stop myself from waving – the club was just across the highway and up on the hill

Ten minutes minutes later Doug was finding me a chair to join the band at one of the larger tables near the back of the club, and Ted was introducing me to the fellows I didn’t know yet – James and Mike, as well as the band’s sound engineer, Orest Patraschuk and lighting director, Dave Dyer. The waitress came to take my order and Mike and I began to talk about photography and art while the others finished their respective conversations. By the time I’d had my fill of Calamari the band was into a full on discussion of the previous night’s performance and planning minor tweaks to both sound and lighting for the performance this evening. I looked over into the opposite corner of the club and saw the stage – a decent sized stage for a club, but I expressed my wonderment on having a 5 man band with room for drum kit, keyboard and a singer who likes to move and get involved wholeheartedly. They all just smiled at me

Lunch over, we discussed what the afternoon’s agenda was – I had an item in my car to deliver to one of the band members (he took it to Vancouver for me) and a few of the guys wanted to go to the local music store, so we all headed back to the hotel two doors down to regroup and go from there.

Once at the hotel my item was delivered, Orest the sound man went to do the unglamorous task of laundry, James headed to his own shared room for a quiet time, and Doug and Mike went off to do their own thing. Ted, Randy, Dave, and I piled into Randy’s van and headed to the local Long and McQuade music store to drool over guitars, amps, and all such manner of heavy metal rock and roll instrumentation.

After a good hour of wishful thinking by the guys (on what new gear they’d love to have) and equally wishful thinking on my part (I wish I could play that electric guitar my brother gave me last year when he upgraded) we left the store richer in experience but no poorer in pocket and headed back to the Starbucks which is attached to a Chapters book store. The guys were like kids in a candy store even more so than at the music shop! Ted poured over a Bon Jovi glossy hard cover for long moments, the odd sigh coming from him as he would discover a rare photo inside. Randy picked up a Kiss book and he and Ted compared notes on various photos from that book – recalling dates and tour info like it was yesterday. It wa an interesting experience to stand beside them both and listen to the chatter about their memories of gigs and concert going as ‘fans’ – I loved it.

After picking up a drink to go, we rounded everyone up and headed back to the van. On the way back to the hotel, I peeked over the back seat into the ‘cargo hold’ at the carefully stacked and wedged guitar cases – and soaked up the ambience of being in a band van Piling out of the van for the last time, it was hugs from Randy, a quick goodbye to Doug at his room, and a hug and official Blaze of Glory press badge on lanyard tucked into my pocket from Ted, and I was off to my own car for the hour plus drive back home.

Many thanks to Ted, Doug, Randy, James, Mike – Blaze of Glory, and their sound and lighting engineers, Orest and Dave, for a really cool day. If Blaze of Glory is playing a show near you – be sure to go.

Freude, freude. Ausgabe 2 der Charthure geht an den Start. Let’s e goooooooo.

Platz 18 Thomas Godoj – Nicht Allein Thomas Godoj halt.

Letra

I should have seen it coming when the roses died
Should have seen the end of summer in your eyes
I should have listened when you said good night
You really meant good bye

Baby ain’t funny how you never ever learn to fall
You’re really on your knees when you think you’re standing tall
But only fools are know-it-alls and I’ve played that fool for you

I cried and cried every night
There were nights that I died for you baby
I tried and tried to deny it that your love drove me crazy baby

If the love that I got for you is gone
If the river I’ve cried ain’t that long
Then I’m wrong yeah I’m wrong
This ain’t a love song

Baby I thought you and me would
Stand the test of time
Like we got away with the perfect crime
But we were just a legend in my mind
I guess that I was blind

Remember those nights dancing at the masquerade
The clowns wore smiles that wouldn’t fade
You and I were the renegades some things never change
It made me so mad ’cause I wanted it bad for us baby
And now it’s so sad that whatever we had
Ain’t worth saving oh oh oh

I cried and I cried every nigth
There were nigths that I died for you baby
I tried and I tried to deny it that

Asezati-va comod in pat, cu o cana de ceai caldutz in fatza si o carte buna ( si v-am dat cateva exemple in posturile precedente ) and enjoy this!

Informazioni sul testo:

- Artista: Jeff Buckley;

- Interpreti: Leonard Cohen’s, Bon Jovi, Elisa, John Cale.

- Album: Grace;

- Anno di pubblicazione: 1994.

Il testo:

HALLELUJAH

Halleluja, Halleluja, Halleluja, Halleluja

E dalle tue labbra fece uscire l’Halleluja

Halleluja, Halleluja, Halleluja, Halleluja

Halleluja, Halleluja, Halleluja, Halleluja

Be’, forse c’è un dio lassù

Halleluia, Halleluia, Halleluia, Halleluia

Looking for fairly boring photos of Lady
Gaga is like a fun Internet scavenger hunt.

The never ending battle between pop and country-pop got interesting this week, as Lady Gaga pushed Taylor Swift from a formerly rather secure perch at the top of the countdown. Taylor tumbles to sixth place in the process, as the desperate scramble to fill up on tickets to her latest set of concert dates has subsided a bit, it seems. Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour is gearing up for a November 27th kick-off date, with a full calendar through April of next year.

Miley and Bon Jovi both move up a spot as the SEC Championship has a softer slide than Taylor, and the Big 12 Championship remains firmly in 5th place. Making his first appearance on the countdown is John Mayer, whose new album Battle Studies dropped on November 17th. Mayer is playing a couple dates in 2009 before his concert tour expands in January 2010.

Rounding out the Top 10 the Rose Bowl remains steady a 8, while the Longhorns peek in once more at 9. Buzz continues to build on the team for a spot in the Big 12 Championship and the BCS Bowl beyond. Finally, the WWE rushes in from the outside to interfere in the countdown title match and swipe the #10 belt. That will conclude the surprisingly smart mark commentary for this week.
