Hey Bundles of Luv

Hope you all is in the Holiday spirit full of joy and love.

I hear men aren’t suppose to cry. As I’m here teary eyed I have to say what? why? how? Where is it written in stone that men aren’t suppose to cry and who wrote it. Don’t men feel pain, hurt, and sadness. Of course we do so why aren’t we suppose to cry. Crying often makes you feel better it releases whatever you have bottled up inside. I feel that crying makes you sane. Holding it in is bad very bad. I know I do it a lot but it’s not good at all. Holding it in makes you an angry, depressed, and sad time bomb. Depending how long and what you’re holding in you don’t even tock before you boom you just tick boom and usually you boom on the wrong people. Holding it in also can make you sick physically and mentally. When you have so much bottled up inside you find yourself unable to be joyous in joyous time, sad in happy times all around you just incapable of enjoying anyone and it’s had for others to be around you. So I say men do yourself a favor cry get it out it’s ok you crying is not gonna end the world not crying will.

Bundles of Luv it’s ok to cry men and women alike there are women that are guilty of holding it all inside as well. Let it out you’re human sometimes the best therapy and soothing medicine is a boo hoo or two if you’re like me get off by yourself and let it go you’ll find out you will feel a lot better.

I love each and every one of you and if I don’t post again before the Holidays Merry Christmas and A Very Very Very Happy New Year to you all and if any of you need to have some bht (boo hoo time) do it before the holidays so you can truly enjoy them.

Until next time!!!!

Let Love, Live Love, Be Love

Enough with the boo-hooing! I’m starting to bring myself down. It’s freezing outside (for Bay Area standards) and no one has extra cash, but there are plenty of things to celebrate and be happy about.

I’ll save my photo montage for the end of the year and will instead post some pics that make me laugh and that will me get into trouble. Dude, I’m so gonna get it.

Halloween: After weeks of planning our costumes, one night via iChat my sister and I were struck with inspiration and decided we MUST be Jem & The Holograms. A true Misfit at heart, she was the green-haired arch nemesis Pizzazz and I just played along. Yeah right! I jumped at the chance to be Jem and even made a hot pink ensemble to match my neon hair. Now that image, we’ll save for another rainy day.

Truly, Truly, Truly Outrageous!!! If you don't know who these awesome late-80s rival band leaders are, you are dead to me.

Moving Day: I thought leaving the city after 14 years would be more heartbreaking, but I am so much happier now and cannot wait to come home after work. I walk a lot more too and am excited to report my waistline is a lot slimmer now than in the picture so envision me as the svelte vixen I am.

If you want to know how AMAZING my family and friends are check this: Dad & Geri helped me load up everything so we could do it in one trip and Mom and Thea set up my kitchen, Sis and Ann arranged my living room and even emptied most of the boxes at my new digs.

Given the pic above, I spared my sis in this one. Rockin’, right?

Bust a Move! A fuzzy picture but what do you expect after a 12-hour day?

Dollar Daze: These days I am exploring new places like the dollar store and it really is a one-stop shop for household items, large-print word search books, gift wrap, decorations and anything else you may or may not be looking for.

Miss Croco.
Chocolate Love: Amid all the craziness I invested in myself this year and took a three-month Professional Chocolatier’s Course. I learned why chocolates differ in taste, developed signature chocolates, practiced new techniques for molding, dipping, shaving and filling chocolate, recipes for creating other candies as well as how to write a successful business and operation plan. I’m proud of myself for coming in at the top of my class. A+, baby!

The first press clippings are coming out about the Advance. What’s curious is that the DPV Central Committee just happened to meet in Staunton on the same day, and writers can help but compare the two events. But first, the Advance, from the RTD:

In a celebratory mood, Virginia Republican activists hailed their conquering heroes yesterday after several years of discouraging defeats.

“Isn’t it great to have an Advance where we can actually celebrate?” said Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling. “The last few years have been like wakes.”
“We’re happy, hopeful and energized,” said Del. Benjamin L. Cline, R-Amherst, who for the first time carried the college town of Lexington.

…..

McDonnell, who drew a standing ovation and loud huzzahs, spelled out why he thought the VRepublicans won: “We stuck to our conservative principles, while providing practical solutions.”

McDonnell said voters wanted solutions to the everyday economic problems confronting them, and the Republicans offered those solutions. McDonnell said that by 2014, when he leaves office as Virginia’s 71st governor, he wants Virginia to be the energy capital of the East Coast; government to be careful about spending taxpayers’ money; more “privatization, innovation and consolidation;” merit pay for teachers; and all highway rest stops reopened.

The Post was also there on Day One:

Tonight was mostly about socializing.

Republicans walked from one hospitality suite to another where they sipped drinks from open bars, munched on cheese and crackers and picked up more stickers.

Most suites were hosted by 2010 congressional candidates including Scott Rigell , Ken Golden and Ben Loyola who are vying to replace U.S. Rep. Glenn Nye (D) and Feda Kidd Morton running for U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello’s (D) seat. Keith Fimian, who is opposing U.S. Rep. Gerry Connolly for a second time, also made the trip.

And Day Two:

McDonnell, visibly relaxed and seven pounds heavier since the election, individually thanked many of his supporters and volunteers.

“The Republican resurgence has begun in the Commonwealth of Virginia,” he said.

McDonnell talked about how Republicans won the election — by offering solutions to everyday problems — but his loudest applause came when he promised to uphold the conservative issues he rarely talked about on the trail.

“I was a pro-life attorney general for Virginia and I will be a pro-life governor,” he said. “I was a Second Amendment attorney general for Virginia, and I will be a Second Amendment governor.”

As I mentioned, the Dems held a meeting, but the mood wasn’t nearly the same for Creigh Deeds’ victory, I tried my best guys, I really did, I’m sorry speech. From the WaPo:

Looking rested and wearing an open collar shirt under his blazer, Deeds was greeted warmly by his fellow Democrats and spent long moments huddled with longtime senate pals Mary Margaret Whipple and Dick Saslaw. The crowd of more than 100 gave Deeds a standing ovation when Gov. Tim Kaine recognized Deeds as “one of the finest people I know in public life.”

Still, quietly, a few activists said they blame Deeds for the breadth of the party’s losses in November, believing his hesitancy to embrace the agenda of Democrats at the national level left the party unenthusiastic about his effort.

And of course, leave it up to Virginia Democrats to throw more bad after bad:

With many party members convinced November’s losses came because Democratic office seekers did not clearly enough set out policy positions that distinguished them from Republicans, the party took the unusual step of adopting a resolution on a policy issue: With little discussion the central committee voted to encourage all of Virginia’s Democratic members of Congress to support a health care reform bill that includes a public option.

Seriously?? Adopt THAT in a part of the state that CLEARLY repudiated you? When the Republicans just succesfully reamed you by showing what a charade your “reform” package is? Of course, in their words of their House leader:

“A lot of it was apprehension about what’s going on in Washington, make no mistake about it,” Armstrong said.”People say they want change–right up to the moment it shows up.”

That’s right–If I ordered a $20 dollar steak and got a bill for $100, I’d be pretty pissed off too.

But perhaps my favorite line comes from the WaPo blog’s preview of the weekend: “GOP prepares to Celebrate, Dems to Commiserate“

Movie Review time!!!

If you are looking for a pick-me-up movie to watch on Friday night I suggest not renting “Up”. The movie Up is one of the latest films from the folks at Pixar. The movie starts off soft and melancholy as we see a nerdy young boy who dreams of adventure sitting in a theater. Then he hooks up and gets married and that is where the happiness ends. It starts with a miscarriage of a baby, death of his wife, developers trying to take his home, and getting sent to an old folks home. Then sprinkle in an orphan wood scout, rebuked bitter explorer, talking dogs and an almost extinct species of bird and the recipe of sadness is complete.

I may never recover from this movie!

My porcelain screen broke. I was trying to fit it into the biggest kiln last night until 2 am, building precarious towers to hold 30 pound shelves over some other girl’s work (that also weighed about 30 pounds). In short, months of work broke into several pieces as I awkwardly slid it onto the top shelves, uneven and held up by about 24 quivering posts… Fuck ceramics. Fuck kiln 7. Fuck other girl’s heavy cloud basin things taking up the bottom 3/4 of the kiln. Fuck building something the maximum size possible. From now on I’m throwing nice bowls, the occasional mug and nothing fancy.

Speaking of porcelain screen, I have been thinking about questions one would ask to other people, or answers one would give to questions like ‘what are you guilty of?’ or ‘why are you so rich?’. I am building a booth for subversive questions. It will contain a porcelain screen to be installed within different situations for public interaction. I will present my work to a lecture hall full of people in under two weeks. What kinds of destabilizing questions would you ask someone-stranger or friend?

Hold on to your video card…this post is going to be photo heavy. I started Second Life back in

Hold on to your video card…this post is going to be photo heavy. I started Second Life back in early 2006, before there was such a thing as Flexi hair. Men’s styles were nearly unheard of and if you could find something prim that did not look to girlish, it was a blessing. I am a confirmed hair collector and nearly all of it is red, but i will be merciful and only show the collection highlights.

Like most guys back then, I started with the system hair. It was red of course and long. I have always been a long haired red head, even back then. So…this was my hair of choice back in 2-06, a LL original.

The hunt began soon after. I knew I wanted a long hair with out braids or curls or other girly sort of style flair. This was surprisingly hard to find. At last I tracked down my very first Prim hair. Created by HTC (Here Comes Trouble) back in “05″ it was a style called “The Warrior”and was made for men. It didn’t work. I got called “miss” and “she” a lot in this hair. That had me shopping again fast.

There were many trys and fails but this next hair I stuck with awhile. It was made for women, but I liked it and some people could even guess I was a guy (Male skins were way worse back then.) It was created in late ‘06″ by Goldie Locks and was called the “teased hair”. It was my style until the flexhair arrived.

Hair that moves! I went broke. Designers were not all instantly talented with flexi…but I didn’t care. Flowing hair! I bought stuff. Like this long haired wonder by (Belive it or not) Cake.

And this nice ruffian look by Goldie Locks again.

Cake was the winner to me tho and I spent a great deal of money in their store and a long time in SL wearing their styles …even going fully over the top with this wonder by Cake called “Riven”. I got mistaken for a girl in this hair a lot too but it was so fun to wear and moved so grandly I did not really care.

By now I was starting to think I had a decent and somewhat unique personal style going. It was mid to late ‘07″ and I thought it was time to try my hand at a SL modeling career.

Casting call after casting call i went to. Some of them I would be the only guy not picked. I had noticed I was half the size of these guys, with a realistic build instead of the refrigerator with a head build. I also noticed I was the only red head and the only long hair in the auditions but surely that would work in my favor. Right? Right??!

Wrong. I was repeatedly told to lose the red hair, go with a short style and bulk up my avatar. I settled for one out of 3 and for awhile…*gasp* I cut my hair. This look the “001 hair” by B R LY1 N became my first choice for casting calls.

As well as this little Full Perm charmer, the “Rebel” by “Boo Hoo” for days when I was feeling a bit resentful about the whole having to cut my hair in order to model demand.

Hadn’t anyone looked at the covers of any romance novels? Nearly all those guys had long hair. Lucky for me, a little upstart Modeling agency called “Opium” agreed to hire me, long red hair, slim body and all. Feeling more validated, i started sliding back into the long styles. Short hair is just not me. It was about then I discovered Calico and spent alot more money. The “Connor” by Calico ….

And the “Fossarius” also by Calico were my main hairstyles when I was not on the runway.

Recently however…they have all been replaced by my latest love, The “Stone Fox” by Exile. This may well be the hair I have been looking for all along. But then I have thought that before.

Well..thats the history of my glorious red hair. Now..if you all will excuse me, its time for my beauty sleep. All this writing and hair styling has just worn me right out.

I also noticed I was the only red head and the only long hair at these auditions but surely that would work in my favor. Right? Right??!

Wrong. I was repeatedly told to lose the red hair, go with a short style and bulk up my avatar. I settled for one out of 3 and for awhile…*gasp*… I cut my hair. This look the “001 hair” by B R LY1 N became my first choice for casting calls.

As well as this little Full Perm charmer, the “Rebel” by “Boo Hoo” for days when I was feeling a bit resentful about the whole having to cut my hair in order to model requirement.

And the “Fossarius” also by Calico were my main hairstyles when I was not on the runway.

Toke-tastic set of Canyon rock via the ever popular Aquarian Drunkard

“The genesis of this post goes back to the end of 2006 via a longtime AD reader. If you’ve been around a minute you may remember L.A. Burnout from January of 2007. As I mentioned a couple of years ago, these are the tunes I was spinning while reading both Laurel Canyon: The Inside Story of Rock-and-Roll’s Legendary Neighborhood and Hotel California: The True-Life Adventures of CSN, etc.

L.A. Burnout is made up of the sounds floating around Los Angeles in the late ’60s and ’70s; a faded aural imprint of the canyons, beaches, wildfires, neighborhoods, late-nights and early mornings of a bygone L.A.” – AQD

Massive 4hr mix exploring the production genius of Trevor Horn from the good folks at D*ruffalo Online Magazine.

Horn has shaped the sound of bands from within and as an outsider, and the list is huge – ABC, The Buggles, The Art Of Noise, Seal, Cher, Grace Jones, Seal, Propaganda, Tina Turner, Lisa Stansfield, Tom Jones, Paul McCartney, Pet Shop Boys, Simple Minds, Eros Ramazzotti, Mike Oldfield, Marc Almond, Charlotte Church, t.A.T.u, LeAnn Rimes, and Belle & Sebastian.

“If the D.H.S. or any other member of D*ruffalo should drop whilst in the club from contamination, put them outside, but remember to tag them first for identification purposes. Ours is the last mix that you will ever hear. Do not be alarmed.”

I have been toying with the idea of a poem called “I am the alone” for a long time but I

I have been toying with the idea of a poem called “I am the alone” for a long time but I don’t think I’ve ever concretely put it to paper (if I did, it has long since escaped me and succombed to the dank clutter of my belongings). I sort of feel as though the “the alone” is one of multiple personalities, or perhaps an anthropomorphized phantom portion of myself that both stands by itself and exists within me at the same time.

The Alone, capital letter to denote its identity and importance, is my own personal purgatory. At times I seek it like an addict, shutting out everyone and everything else so that the only sensory perceptions I allow are ones that I can tolerate. Other times, mostly around holidays or anniversaries or other important dates that are usually categorized by socialization, I feel like it clings to me with the rotten stench of a dirty street urchin, pawing at me to remind me of its miserable existence, persisting in making itself present to me and anyone who cares enough to look.

Last Christmas I got a single card in the mail. I never get many, despite being an ardent lover and giver of cards – I never put my return address on the ones I send because I’ve felt as though the “pity card” that comes a few days after the receipt of yours is to be avoided at all costs. No, if it is to be genuine and true, the intent already fixed in the mind of the sender, the card should find its way to me regardless of moves, neglect or some other event that caused emotional or physical distance between the sender and me.

The one card I received was addressed to someone else. I opened it as I am in the habit of doing when I see something interesting land on my doorstep, and it was one of those family portrait cards – mother, father, two or three adorable kids (I forget; I could easily look as I still have it but it would hurt too much). I put the card on my windowsill next to the couch that I rarely left, where I huddled on cold winter nights when my unheated apartment was being overtaken by mice that lived on the cream of wheat packets I couldn’t bear to pick up off the floor, and I pretended this family knew me and loved me. On Christmas Day when I was alone and snow was on the ground and I could hear my landpeople downstairs getting ready to head out to spend time with their loved ones, this random family smiling at me was almost more than I could bear. The bond they had to each other escaped me. The bond they had with the intended recipient of the card escaped me. The Alone was all I really had.

Over in the states, the heat’s cooking up something firce, so those bods over at the much loved Gorilla vs Bear have created a summer mix to provide a bit of shade for the mind. Of course, it’s hipper than your grannie’s last surgical procedure, so be sure to check it out.

“Here’s a summer mix, inspired mainly by this oppressive heat haze we’ve been experiencing in TX over the last week or so. Seriously, kids can’t even go to a baseball game here these days without almost dying. Featuring a bunch of stuff I’ve been listening to a lot lately”: – GVSB

01 best coast :: sun was high (so was I)
02 pearl harbour :: sunburn
